I've heard so many great things about Jamie's café that I wanted to try it for myself. Inside it was larger than I expected, not really fancy or upscale, but more like a neighborhood diner. The service was good we were greeted as we came in and they came to take our order right away. The food was okay. We ordered the chicken fried steak which had a heavy coating but the meat was thin and a bit of gristle the gravy was not really flavorful. The bacon was thick and tasty and the biscuit was good.

It was my first time coming here, came when it busy and got helped right away ! Good servers, clean restaurant. Ordered the fried French toast and it came with 2 eggs and 2 big sized sausages. Extremely good and large portions for a good price. The toast was good and not overly sweet. It was perfect to my liking and I don't like things super sweet. Highly recommend!

I came to Jamie's Cafe for Sunday brunch around lunchtime, and it was kind of busy, but the wait was not too long, about 15 to 20 minutes. The service was really fast, and the workers were friendly. They have really big portion sizes. I got the steak with eggs and a biscuit, and it was delicious. I even had enough left over to take home. It is also a pretty big space, which made it feel less crowded.

I wanted to take my mom to a new place for breakfast. Her go to is iHop because she does not eat much at one time. Tina our server was great. They have the best servers at this establishment. Eggs with French toast My mom really loved this dish. She has enough leftovers for two more meals. Chicken Fried Steak and eggs. Always good and filling. My mom was talking the next day about how much she loved her meal here. I rarely order coffee out, have Nespresso first thing in the morning but today I did. Good coffee.

I can see why this restaurant is always busy because the food is great! My husband and I split the Dads Mashup. I really liked the gravy and biscuit. Seasoned well, not too salty. Service was good even though they were busy. They take reservations!

Decided last minute to have brunch here the day after Christmas. We were shocked how packed this restaurant was but they were truly accommodating. We had a twenty minute wait which we thought really??? but it happened as we got seated in 20 minutes! Nice! Catherine was our waitress & was fast & efficient. She was even requested by another table on the other side of the restaurant. I thought oh no we won't get our entrees & was I ever so wrong. These employees work well as a team as our food appeared rather quickly. My buttermilk pancakes were excellent & so fluffy & tasty! My poor wife's mouth was watering big time watching me scarfed down my pancakes! Heehee!!! This restaurant was very casual yet clean. As many people they got inside the restaurant that day we were truly amazed. We were very happy to see this family owned business doing super well. Too bad they don't open later in the day. They pretty much close by 2 PM. When the weather gets warmer they do have outdoors seating. Many people do order food to go as my wife had in the past. Jamie's is definitely your neighborhood restaurant & you can be sure we will return!!!

I got to try this place thru door dash. I through the breakfast burrito was delicious. With the salsa, made it top tier! I wish I could have gotten more salsa. The breakfast burrito was filled with sausage, eggs, cheese, etc and it was a good mix and ended up being very filling. I would say the country potatoes were just all right. I wills like to try this place in person, and order more things to try.

This cafe should be rated #1 for excellent customer service. Warm welcome as you enter, wait time for party of two under 10 minutes. While waiting to be seated, and it being my first time dining here, my eyes began scouting the spacious dining area filled with happy customers. It was an arctic Saturday morning and I was desperately wanting a hot beverage. Our table server "Tina" was exceptional! She greeted us with a genuine smile, positive energy, patient, and very helpful with menu choices. Combine this with the warm welcome and you get #1 excellent customer service! Order up... I had 'mom's French toast, scrambled eggs and bacon...yummy. Wait. My food was lukewarm. I'm one who likes my food hot. The French toast could have been fluffy instead it was on the soggy side giving the bread pudding texture once the syrup was added. But it had delicious flavor. I also ordered from their "seasonal Sip' menu the Mocha White Mocha. Sadly it was tepid. Once I mixed in the whipped topping it instantly went cold. It tasted great so I took it to-go. I'm definitely coming back. Can't wait to try the char-broiled salmon filet, Cobb salad and more.

Deep Fried Strawberry French Toast - 10/10

Jamie's Cafe is a cute little modern diner in Elk Grove near I-5 serving all types of comfort food and is popular by demand for a reason. I can only imagine the weekends when they serve their Eggs Benedict! Yes, this is sadly only a weekend special. That's okay because we ended up getting their Fried French Toast and Dad's Mash up which were just as tasty. The smell and taste of their Deep Fried Strawberry French Toast was reminiscent of a funnel cake. I was afraid this might be on the heavier and oilier side after eating. Not at all! The fry was light and crisp, bread nice and thick, whipped cream and strawberry sauce topped with powdered sugar were obligatory to complete this incredible breakfast dessert. However, I wouldn't say it was overly sweet which was nice! This was also served with a side of 2 bacon strips and eggs. Dad's Mash Up was good but I think it could've been great if it had more prominent bacon pieces within the mix instead of sausage. Personal preference... I would describe this best as a fully loaded biscuits and gravy. Soft pillowy biscuits below smothered with cut up sausage, peppers, ham, tots, scrambled eggs, and thick luscious gravy. Extremely filling. Glad I tried it but would like to get something different next time. Brunch + comfort food are two of my top fav's. I can confidently say Jamie's Cafe left me satisfied and full. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend!

I think I'm officially biased. I really enjoy Jamie's every time. And they aren't perfect. But close. They were busy - per usual. We were motioned to sit down. Another few tables came in behind us. And then - a couple seated after us was offered menus and waters before us... just as I was going to say something about being skipped over our beautiful server arrived and the rest of our meal was great! Pastrami sandwich and breakfast mulitas. The chorizo on the mulitas was so good - they were hard to eat but I just went ahead and made a mess of my plate. I love that there are so many food options all the time. The specials really are special and the service is truly kind and attentive. Just be patient if they are super busy. It's worth the wait.

Came here for brunch on a weekend. It was pretty busy but we were seated within 30 minutes. Got the ham benedict with tater tots and the country fried steak with potatoes. The waitress asked if we wanted bell peppers and onions but failed to mention it costed $1 more for each. They also gave very little for the $2 upcharge. Less than a teaspoon full of each. The hollandaise sauce was a very strange texture. It was a bit grainy and very thick. And had a very strong aftertaste that made it hard to eat. The rest of the food and drink were ok.

Met friends for brunch here. Service was excellent. Got the meat omelet with tater tots and a biscuit. Nice sized omelet with plenty of filling. Loved the soft, warm biscuit. The only minus was its kind of a noisy place, just one big open room. But otherwise, I will likely return.

As soon as we walked in to this busy place we got a greeting. A large airy place with lots of windows letting in lots of light, very comfortable & welcoming atmosphere. Two of us ordered the salmon avocado toast on wheat bread & it was very nicely prepared, very delicious. The greek salad & 1/2 beef sandwich was a real hit with my friend's order. A new favorite place I plan to visit again when I'm back in Elk Grove.

Their employees have that southern hospitality I never use that word but I HAD to for this because my experience was so awesome! Not even trying to glaze this place but it's the best i love it sm. The atmosphere here is SO COOL!!! Love their texas themed place. I think it's funny how they have a saddle to ride it made my experience so much fun! I think this place is already over hyped BUT for a GOOD reason! I am A THOUSAND percent returning!!! This was also a takeout order, so I'm not sure if the quality standards for takeout differ from dine-in, but based on this experience, it definitely did not meet the mark. I ordered my steak well done, but when I cut into it, it was still red in the center. The macaroni and cheese lacked flavor, and the cheese wasn't mixed well with the pasta. The sweet potato tasted burnt on the inside and had a poor texture. The green beans were the only side that met expectations. I'm not sure if there are new cooks or if standards have changed, but the food quality was not what I remembered. To their credit, management listened to my concerns, apologized, and provided me with a coupon for a future meal, which I appreciated. My intention in leaving this review is simply to provide honest feedback in hopes that improvements can be made. With restaurant prices being as high as they are today, I expect meals to be prepared correctly regardless of whether I'm dining in or ordering takeout. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I don't plan on returning anytime soon and will likely be looking elsewhere when I'm in the mood for a good steak.

We ordered two of the regular fat burgers with all of the toppings and sauces to get the full experience. We also ordered some skinny fries and onion rings. Service was friendly. It did take a little longer than I expected for our order to come out. I would say about 15-20 minutes at least. The restaurant was clean. We brought it home immediately, and I found each of food items to be just barely warm. For the burger, the different toppings were nice to have, but nothing super unique. The bun was probably the most disappointing part was the bun. The bun wasn't really soft, and definitely not warmed up. It would have been nice if the bread was toasted at the very least. The bun itself was also a little dry. The skinny fries had potential to be better. They were mostly soggy and unfortunately not salted enough. The onion rings were not crispy despite the batter appearing to be that way in many pictures. I can't really see myself coming back here.

Good burger, huge, hot, flavored like the kind you make at home in a fry pan, eg pepper, salt and possibly garlic powder. Nice huge dense bun, too. Fries were good, also hot. It's a big deal when you eat out and are served hot food. Great meal, huge portion and truly reminded me of a home cooked burger. Friendly professional customer service, quick to order and receive a great meal. Offered me ranch, thousand island dressing for fries, no extra cost. They have cardio, salt and pepper, mints, hand wipes, nice touch along with mints. Two big screen TV's, no blaring way to loud music. I'll try it again in the future. Looks like they have milkshakes including vegan flavors, chicken sandwich, ground turkey burger.

Staff was very accommodating of our sharing of plates. The cocktail program deserves special mention as well. We tried the Peach Basil Whiskey Sour, Mandarin Old Fashioned, and the Blackberry Pineapple Tequila Sour, and all three were excellent. Each was balanced, well-crafted, and interesting enough that we'd happily order them again. Service was friendly, attentive, and well-paced. We mentioned we were headed to a movie afterward, and the staff timed everything perfectly...never rushed, but never leaving us waiting. It's the kind of service you notice because it quietly makes the evening more enjoyable. The restaurant itself has a warm, upscale-industrial feel, with exposed brick walls, wood tables, comfortable booths, and soft pendant lighting that creates a relaxed atmosphere. The stage and music memorabilia give the dining room personality, and although there wasn't live music the night we visited, it's clear the venue regularly hosts live performances, which would make for a fun evening. My granddaughter had the personal pizza with house salad and I had the cheeseburger with a wedge salad. The lunches also came with a mini pizookie, which was plenty after a hefty lunch. The other half will be dinner. Their fries were nice and hot and crispy, but I had the wedge salad instead, which was very good.

Oh nooooo. BJs why was the Tri tip steak so tiny?!?! It's just slightly bigger than the lemon…read morewedge. We took this order to go so we didn't notice how sad the meal looked until we got it home. It was a pricey plate too. Flavor was good, even though the steak was small but overall the meal was decently proportioned. I had the pizooki special with chicken, succotash and mashed potatoes which I've had in the restaurant. My to go had less succotash but overall was good. The salmon dish with rice and broccoli was average - the fish was good. The broccoli was super underdone and there was an odd seasoning on the rice. But the fish was GOOD! To go orders can be iffy and inconsistent but when I dine in the food is pretty good.
