Ok, my co-worker kept telling me how good the deep fried strawberry French toast is, so of course, that's what I ordered. Served with eggs and choice of meat; I got the sausage links. Oh my, the French toast is a huge portion and beautifully presented with a side of whipped cream and strawberry compote on top. It's not as sweet as it looks (perfect for my taste) and the toast had crispy edges. Sausage was good but needed to be cooked just a bit longer, so you get that snap when you bite it. Scrambled eggs were good too. My husband got the chorizo burrito with tater tots on the side. He liked the burrito but said it did have little kick to it. The tots were fried to perfection and not oily. My brother ordered the "Dad's Mash Up," all kinds of stuff (breakfast meats and cheese) served on top of tots and covered in gravy. It was a pile of food, no complaints from my bro. Service was great and welcoming as soon as we walked in. No wait on a Wednesday morning, but I imagine there is on the weekends. I let our server know it was my brother's birthday, and after we were finishing up our meals, they brought him a complimentary small plate of the strawberry French toast! That was a fantastic way to end his celebratory breakfast. My only complaint, which is more of a suggestion, is to have flavored cream available besides half and half. Service: Friendly but slow and somewhat disorganized. * At check-in, the host added my name (Lin) to the waitlist and said I would receive a text when my table was ready. However, the notification arrived under a different name (Nancy), so I had to double-check whether the table was actually for us. * Our server was pleasant, but service felt scattered. She stopped by to check on us, but before we could respond, she walked over to another table and continued a conversation there. When she returned, she said she would bring water, even though we were already ready to order. It took a while for the water to arrive. * Later, we requested a water refill, which she acknowledged, but it appeared to be forgotten. The refill only came when we were getting ready to leave, at which point she apologized. Although it was a Sunday brunch service, the restaurant did not seem busy enough to fully explain the level of disorganization. Food: Breakfast is available all day. I recommend the Eggs Benedict (weekends only), which comes in several varieties: A. Bacon, spinach, and tomato Benedict B. Traditional ham Benedict C. We tried this cute cafe across the street from the Apple building. Jamie's cafe is pretty standard American fare. The mason jar mimosas were cute but not special. I ordered the pastrami sandwich which was good but not excellent. It also had a lot of vegetables which made it more of a BLT or club. The fries that it came with were interesting. Steak fries but way thinner. Good crispy surface area. We also ordered a standard plate with sausage and biscuits and gravy. Again, basic, but not amazing. While named Granny's Biscuits, it was giving more Denny's. We were also hoping for hashbrowns, which they didn't have. We settled for the tater tots instead. I've heard so many great things about Jamie's café that I wanted to try it for myself. Inside it was larger than I expected, not really fancy or upscale, but more like a neighborhood diner. The service was good we were greeted as we came in and they came to take our order right away. The food was okay. We ordered the chicken fried steak which had a heavy coating but the meat was thin and a bit of gristle the gravy was not really flavorful. Decided last minute to have brunch here the day after Christmas. We were shocked how packed this restaurant was but they were truly accommodating. We had a twenty minute wait which we thought really??? but it happened as we got seated in 20 minutes! Nice! Catherine was our waitress & was fast & efficient. She was even requested by another table on the other side of the restaurant. I thought oh no we won't get our entrees & was I ever so wrong. These employees work well as a team as our food appeared rather quickly. My buttermilk pancakes were excellent & so fluffy & tasty! My poor wife's mouth was watering big time watching me scarfed down my pancakes! Heehee!!! This restaurant was very casual yet clean. As many people they got inside the restaurant that day we were truly amazed. We were very happy to see this family owned business doing super well. Too bad they don't open later in the day. While waiting to be seated, and it being my first time dining here, my eyes began scouting the spacious dining area filled with happy customers. It was an arctic Saturday morning and I was desperately wanting a hot beverage. Our table server "Tina" was exceptional! She greeted us with a genuine smile, positive energy, patient, and very helpful with menu choices. Combine this with the warm welcome and you get #1 excellent customer service! Order up... I had 'mom's French toast, scrambled eggs and bacon...yummy. Wait. My food was lukewarm. I'm one who likes my food hot. The French toast could have been fluffy instead it was on the soggy side giving the bread pudding texture once the syrup was added. But it had delicious flavor. I can only imagine the weekends when they serve their Eggs Benedict! Yes, this is sadly only a weekend special. That's okay because we ended up getting their Fried French Toast and Dad's Mash up which were just as tasty. The smell and taste of their Deep Fried Strawberry French Toast was reminiscent of a funnel cake. I was afraid this might be on the heavier and oilier side after eating. Not at all! The fry was light and crisp, bread nice and thick, whipped cream and strawberry sauce topped with powdered sugar were obligatory to complete this incredible breakfast dessert. However, I wouldn't say it was overly sweet which was nice! This was also served with a side of 2 bacon strips and eggs. Dad's Mash Up was good but I think it could've been great if it had more prominent bacon pieces within the mix instead of sausage. Personal preference... I would describe this best as a fully loaded biscuits and gravy. Soft pillowy biscuits below smothered with cut up sausage, peppers, ham, tots, scrambled eggs, and thick luscious gravy. The waitress asked if we wanted bell peppers and onions but failed to mention it costed $1 more for each. They also gave very little for the $2 upcharge. Less than a teaspoon full of each. I ordered a 16.95 spinach Salad with all the fixings Which for that price I felt should be plentiful. Protein was extra 5.00 but I passed. Others at the table ordered hearty food. The portions were huge. Everyone liked what they ordered said good flavor and were pleased except the sunny side up eggs whites were crusty. I got my bowl of spinach with no bacon which was listed as an ingredient and very little feta, onion and mushrooms. The egg was sliced fine so that was what you saw. I did not want it remade but I advised our server when she checked back with us which was when we were near done. She offered to bring me bacon I declined since I was finishing up. She was apologetic and adjusted the price. I appreciate that but would rather have a good meal. So go here and order meat and potato dishes and you will be happy. I won't be returning. I took a family member here and I had to apologize for removing them from their morning cereal for the avocado toast. It's not special in anyway and pretty bland. When I'm not in the mood to chop up an avocado, I do use this spread at home, but I also season it up-this was not seasoned. It very well might have been because after we ordered, the food was out in 10 min. We were surprised by the high reviews. I typically get the egg chorizo breakfast burrito or omelet, but if they have the T-bone steak and eggs I would consider getting that with biscuits and gravy its chefs kiss! Many dishes were in the $17-18 range which was probably my only issue. But hey, this year has been horrific for jobs and inflation. Nice place for a date after the first date. We got the omelette steak biscuit potatoes, and the 5 French toast with scrambled egg plus sausage. It was all good! I was surprised how good the biscuit was with the butter/margarine. We ordered - 1 Croissant Bfast Sandwich 1 Avocado Toast 2 Iced White Mochas I will say that the customer service provided was very attentive and kind. No issues with staff or seating areas inside. I withheld one star for this review because the food itself is soooo bland. Everything above was just bare basic, no fluff, no extra, no flavor.
