If you're reading this review, you're probably considering trying this place out. Do yourself a favor and DON'T! Came in with my family (party of 4) on a Sunday morning around 11am expecting it to be busy, which it was. We were told it was a 15 minute wait - no problem. After getting seated, by the hostess, it took 5 minutes for a server to come by touch our table, no waters, no name or introduction, just a simple "I'll be right with you guys." We were seated in the outside patio, no music, just quiet enough to hear every tables conversation. After taking our order, we asked for waters, which was dropped off to us almost 20 minutes later. After waiting almost 40 minutes, I got up and went inside to check the status of our order. I was told they were working on it and should be out in 5 mins. Food never came out after waiting almost an hour after being seated, so we decided to leave. I kindly told our waitress that we were leaving and asked if it was possible to speak with a manager in which I was told "we don't have a manager. The owner is here, but I doubt he will come talk to you right now since he is really busy." I'm all for supporting small businesses and I understand that coming in for Sunday brunch - it's going to be busy. But this was by far the worst "dining" experience ever. We will not be returning to this restaurant and neither should you. To make matters worse, the couple next to us also got up and left when we did due to the horrible customer service. Ran into the couple outside who told us that they left because they were too hungry to continue waiting and that the service was SLOW! We checked in and were told it would take 15-20 min to get seated. We were sat at 11:15, and our table wasn't touched or greeted until one of the servers could clearly see me looking for someone to help us. A server came and asked if we were helped and we said not yet. She took our drink order (all waters with a kids OJ), and our food order as well by 11:20. By 11:38, we had to ask another server in the patio area if she could bring us our drinks. By 11:53 my husband asked a server to please check on our food and she said it would be 5 minutes. By 12:00 we gave up and decided to leave. We spent an hour with nothing to show but 4 waters in dirty glass cups bc our server handed them to us with her hand all over the rims of our glasses. My husband asked to speak to a manager and one of the servers said that there was none on duty, only the owner was on site but was too busy to speak to us. This was our first time at this place and it was the WORST dining experience. For being a small business, you would think the staff and owner would try to do some sort of damage control for us wasting an hour at their establishment, but there was nothing done, not even an apology. And to top it off, the couple that was sat next to us had the SAME experience and ended up leaving too! Food: Pros - The items I would reorder are waffles, chicken sandwich, and fries. However, they don't give many fries at all. Cons - there really was nothing for vegans. Was looking to try a new brunch spot and came across this one! We stopped by around 11AM and were greeted and seated immediately. The aesthetic seems to be a modern country diner. Had lots of cute illustrations on the walls too! They have such a large menu so it took us awhile to decide but we ended up getting 1 California Benedict w/ English Muffin and no tomatoes - still came with tomatoes though ($17.99) and 1 Strawberry Waffle w/o Walnuts ($16). We thought the waffle would be bigger or come with 2 for the price but it still tasted very good. The strawberries were quite sour though. The benedict was super delicious, I really enjoyed the flavor and texture compared to others I've tried before. I also really enjoyed the potatoes as well as they had a nice crunch to them. Our food did take quite a bit to come out, we waited for about 40 minutes but it was worth the wait. The only thing we were a bit sad about was that they were out of alcohol so we didn't have a chance to try the mimosas but we'll definitely be back again to try more of the menu! It's been a while since I've been here. And have forgotten how good their food is . Stopped in for breakfast, and I never knew they had outdoor seating towards the back. It wasn't too busy & was quickly seated. I opted to sit in the back. It was shady & was a beautiful morning, despite it being in the 90s, but in the shade, it's really nice. I ordered the OUR CHICKEN 'N' WAFFLE. It's Hand Breaded Chicken, topped with Apple Slaw, Arugula, Bacon Bits, Ricotta And Orange Mermelade Served on Herb Waffle chicken waffle with salad. Omg! Their pesto dressing is so good!!! I even dipped my chicken and waffles in the dressing. I wanted to ask for extra dressing cause it's just really good. You can see the basil in the dressing. We decided to celebrate Mother's Day with brunch at the Waffle Experience on Elk Grove Blvd. It's my first time dining here. The menu had quite a variety of waffle dishes, breakfast, and lunch items. I chose the Joe scramble served with scrambled 3 eggs with hamburger, spinach, mushrooms, and grilled onions with a side of potatoes, and a small slice of toast. It was different from what I expected, and the ingredients didn't seem to blend well. The potatoes tasted old and was hard, and i couldn't seem to get more than one cube at a time to stay on the fork for a decent bite. The hamburger wasn't cooked with the eggs and veggies, but instead, was a broken up hamburger patty tossed with the other ingredients, and it just didn't taste fresh. The others had the waffle combo with eggs and bacon. They enjoyed the waffles. The server was very nice, and we sat outdoors which was a nice open space with plenty of tables. The food was excellent and well prepared using fresh quality ingredients. I had a waffle combo-eggs, apple sausage, pork belly hash. ($3 extra), which was amazing. No skimping on the pork or portion. My son had a strawberry waffle with all the trimmings and my grandaughter had chicken strips and french fries. I really liked that they used organic ketchup (no high fructose corn syrup). We also had bacon and fresh squeezed orange Juice (wow). The coffee was also first rate. One of the items that keep coming up in other reviews is poor service or understaffing issues. During our visit there was only one server working named Darlyn. She was the only server and working really hard considering she had 3 tables, to go orders, and bussing duties. She did an outstanding job with a great, positive attitude, but a busser was really needed to help her with this. I also want to give kudos to the chef-the food coming out of the kitchen was first rate and nicely presented on the plates. Over the past few years, this restaurant has apparently changed ownership three times. Some of the older poor reviews may have been different owners. I really believe the current ownership has a great business model, except for staffing. In my opinion, the food here is some of the best I've enjoyed with fair pricing. I cannot believe I have not written a review for here!! The Waffle Experience is near our home. We have had many different menu options from here over the years. Depending on your taste buds, their waffle can be on the sweet dessert side or more on the regular meal scale. Everybody loved their food! Mine was the angus burger, I ordered it medium rare but it came out a little more rare than I wanted to. But I was still able to finish it. Seasoned potatoes were really good, well seasoned, some have crispy skin, which I loved. My company enjoyed their orders as well. I saw how well the eggs were cooked on their benedicts! I came in on a Saturday around 10:30 AM to beat the brunch rush and ended up staying until closing. I ordered The Babe on a herb waffle, with a side salad and the bottomless guava-flavored mimosa. The herb waffle was delicious and complemented the sandwich beautifully. I asked for my patty medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. The sandwich also included a layer of carnitas that was well-seasoned and hit the spot in terms of flavor and protein. The rest of my party ordered the Eggs Florentine, Classic Waffle Combo, The Lard, Carnitas Plate, and the Classic Combo--all of which were delicious. The kitchen did a great job cooking everything to order and handling special requests (like extra-extra crispy bacon) with care. Service was excellent, even with a small staff. I really appreciated the hostess, Janessa, who checked in on us and kept our water glasses filled. Our server, Kristina, was incredibly patient and thorough. She took the time to listen to each of our requests and made sure everyone felt comfortable asking for modifications. She reassured us that it was no trouble at all, and it really made a difference. Despite the weekend crowd, the staff stayed friendly, attentive, and composed. My only critique is that the establishment should consider hiring more help, especially on busy weekends. Came here for Sunday brunch and mimosas with the family. We were celebrating a birthday as well as a life changing event. We called days in advance and reserved for a large party. We chose this place primarily for the mimosas advertised on every platform their on. When we got there we were not greeted. I was genuinely excited to try their food but mimosas were also at the top of the list. A great spot for high quality food! When I ordered this Chicken and Waffle about a year ago I was just baffled by the many different flavors I could taste. This dish was definitely asian inspired as it had this sweet and sour type of glaze covering the whole item! This was a great dish and I can't wait to try other items on the menu. I asked the server that the menu stated 4 pieces and she said "that is our old menu and the cooks only serve 2 now". Their food is generally divided into two categories: sweet and savory. I'm more of a sweet person, but I did like the savory items I tried. They give good sized portions and I usually went home with leftovers. A couple of negative things: the prices are a little high (but something I'm willing to pay for a special occasion) and the restaurant can get crowded (longer wait times). It was a warm day, but the staff was thoughtful enough to set up umbrellas, which made it much more comfortable.
