I was jonesin for a burger and decided to drop in at the jointed cue and guess what....their grill is back!! And they have added "the best burgers in town" on their sign out front for a reason. They truly make an excellent burger here. It has the perfect level of juicy drippiness and comes with grilled diced onion, which in my opinion tastes like perfection. Ordered the Legendary Cheeseburger $10 and added $4.50 to make it a combo with fries and a drink. A $10 cheeseburger should be bigger than a burger from the dollar menu at McDonalds. It came wrapped in paper and I could tell it was going to be small by looking at the wrapping. It tasted ok but farrrr from being the "Best Burger in Town" You can get a much better and larger burger from Chilis, BJs or even Sky River. You get a large portion of fries but it doesn't make up for the cheeseburger. Sign out front should be changed to "200th Best Burger in Town" and I'm being generous. Revamp that burger. This an okay place to go if you want a late night bite to eat. The service was great, as soon as we walked in we were greeted by the staff. The place was not full but it wasn't empty. There were couples playing pool and a group of people playing a gambling card game. Me and my husband both got their cheeseburger meal and his was a beer combo. The meal was really pricey and consisted of mostly fries and a mini burger. In order to get enough satisfaction I would need probably three of these burgers as they were the size of sliders. I would be better off going to McDonald's for the price. But if you like fries more than burgers then go for it . The fries were also really salty. One of my favorite pool rooms in the world. (of the ones I've played in) Probably holds the top spot since the unfortunate demise of Hollywood Billiards in San Francisco. I really adore the back room, where they have bleachers so you can watch the matches. Some of the seats are showing wear, but the important stuff, the tables, are beautifully maintained and play true. They support the West Coast Women's Tour, and give us enough tables to keep it rolling nicely. I love the memorabelia for the old school players. The staff is great, and the food is good. read more

I saw someone online recommend this place for a good burger in Sacramento so my buddy and I decided to check them out the other day. We both got their cheeseburger with fries and beer combo. The burger was simple and a little on the smaller side but still tasted great. They also give you a mountain of fries which was nice considering most places skimp out on the fries. The service and ambiance were both great as well. It's a no thrills pool hall with plenty of billiards tables available. My only complaints were two. First, they only offered bottled beers with the combo instead of draft and their draft options were lackluster. Second, it felt like there wasn't an AC system and I didn't notice any fans inside so it got warm and musty pretty quick while playing pool. Overall, however, I really enjoyed the place. Went there to try the burger since I heard it was voted as one of the best in the area. Took my son and was happy to grab a spot at the bar otherwise seating is limited. I last played pool here about 30 years ago, but I came in on this visit to try the burger. I ordered the double bacon cheeseburger regular fries and a water. It came as meal deal costing $18 dollars and change. The burger did not look particularly big or amazing, but it was very good. The bacon was thick and tasty, it resembled the bacon that you get wrapped up from a meat counter in a grocery store. Now this is a pool hall, lots of tables! And even more in the back room for tournaments. The tables were all well taken care of and clean, pool sticks had tips and weren't warped. They even have burgers and other food items as well as beer. The food is good though. Burgers are tasty and the fries are nice and crispy. I will say, it is a little pricy for the per hour rate to play pool. If I remember correctly, we paid $14 an hour on a Saturday afternoon. First off this place is a community staple and I am so glad they're back in business. A minor set back closed them down for a while. This was my go to spot for a good O'l bacon cheeseburger. The first bite brought back memories of bitting into a delicious burger. Followed by a pause, I asked for No Mayo and got mayo, I dislike mayo on a burger, don't judge. I am a mustard/ketchup burger kinda women. I wiped off the mayo and still enjoyed the taste and flavor. The fries are the same, not over cooked not cooked in days old grease. We used to come here all the time like 15 years ago just for the burgers but had since forgotten about it over the years. Me and my husband have picked the hobby of playing pool back up and have been frequenting bars with pool tables which can be hit or miss in getting a table or finding a pool stick that isn't broken. One day my husband said what about Jointed Cue and I was immediately flooded with memories of this place we drove over and not much has changed. Still servicing tasty dive bar type of food and lots of pool tables. They also have a back room for tournaments as well. We paid $15 an hour which is a little steep considering we can play 3 games for $5 at several different bars but again, Jointed Cues tables are in much better condition. For a Saturday around 5pm they several open tables so no wait times. They do serve beers as well. Glad my husband remembered this spot, now we don't have to venture all the way to midtown for a few games of pool. read more

Fun spot! I've been looking for a local pool hall and I've found my spot! All of the places to play pool downtown or in Midtown seem to have one or two tables and the tables aren't available during the weekend. Jointed Cue has lots of tables and a great atmosphere to play. Clean, fair table rates, good tvs for watching a game while you play, fair beer prices and great/friendly service. South Sac doesn't have the best reputation but this place was cool. Everyone was there to hang out and play pool and drink beer. No drama. The food looks like some good divey type of food. I'll try some fries next time I stop in. read more

Finally had a chance to try these burgers that everyone in Sacramento has hyped up. Well, these burgers are ok good but for me it was not what worth going out of my way for. I paid $50 for two burgers, one with bacon with a basket of fries and two beers. Definitely not worth it. I rather go to In and Out Burger or even Burger King. I don't know what the hype is about these burgers that are served with super thin patties. The fries were okay they are shoe string fries, nothing amazing just basic fries.
