Almost perfect? We drove down to Clarksburg on a lovely Friday evening for our date. Food 1. Starting with the roasted beet salad. Though I like these type of salads to be heavier on the beats and less on the greens, this was well-made and just the right amount of dressing. The goat cheese is an excellent complement to a clearly fresh and well made salad. Great job getting this right. 2. Next, our favorite, the creamed mushrooms! We were trying to decide which item to try on the main dishes and our server recommended this one and boy were we pleased! The menu says locally foraged mushrooms, cream, and the runny egg on top. Cooked in a cast-iron skillet and I crispy truffles on top. Excellent if you think something like this sounds good. 3. The Forster Pizza was the last show as the pizza orders were backed up on a busy Friday night. The highlight it's definitely the garlic confit topping buried underneath the of arugula. We're looking forward to the potatoes, but they were easy to miss as they were a few and small. The caramelized onions were also nice touch overall a great dish too. 4. I also ordered the Forester Paloma, virgin. Great choice if you love grapefruit. Note: We both commented that if you haven't been out here and it was dark, an inexperienced driver might feel a little uncomfortable getting here and back. On a positive note... it's part of the experience!
Yowza! Sweet find down in the delta. Former hardware store now a thriving restaurant and gathering spot. Indoor and outdoor seating. My Italian beef sandwich on a locally-baked ciabatta sub roll was exquisite, served with au jus and a salad of field greens. Tender beef, soft and flavorful roll. Perfection! House-made dessert choices made my head spin, but I finally settled on the kahlua chocolate cake. Left not a morsel behind. Limited ADA parking, but I got lucky just before the dinner hour.
What a great gem to find - Husick's has a great spot across from the river out in clarksburg. Their specialty is pizza but they've been expanding their menu. The food was outstanding and the service was great, very quick and super friendly. They were originally counter service but are moving to table service. We had a Mac & cheese dish on their specials menu which was amazing along with a salad and husick's pizza.
If you're looking for a police to eat, that's out of the city, I will definitely recommend this place. The service was pretty great. The vibe was really nice. We were sitting outside, and you can feel that Delta River breeze as i enjoyed a cold beer.Everything we had was delicious , we ordered the big ass meatball(lol the actual name),rigatoni and combo pizza. The chef here always has special items every week from different parts of the world and does a type of fusion plates or even authentic ones. But they also have a set menu as well. Only complete was that the pizza took a little longer than normal. But other than that everything was fantastic, And I live close by so I will definitely visit them again.
WOW - Driven past this little gem numerous times over last 5 years on our way to pick up our wine club selections. 'Marshall' was at counter to help walk us through menu and wine options. Nice variety of dining options for certain. The Veggie sandwich and the roasted beets salad were both so very fresh tasting with nice combinations of ingredients. And then the fresh baked focaccia bread was so beautifully clean tasting with just the right mix of minimal ingredients for taste!! We will be back! And you should too
Stopped in here seen an ad on Instagram and just happened to show up for Wu-Tang night Love the vibe drink selections were great. Ordered some hummus. That was really good. The pizza looked amazing. Did not get the pizza but will be back. Love that they had the Wu-Tang and a DJ play music.
I've stopped in twice in the last two weeks. This spot is a gem. Honestly, if it was closer to my home I'd be stopping in all the time, and it's probably good that it's a bit of a drive. The restaurant is so cute, they have some parking spots and then there's additional street parking down the side street next to it. The restaurant is beautiful and open inside, and they have additional outside seating. When you enter you order at the counter and then find a seat. I've dined in once and ordered takeout on my second visit. The team here is welcoming and friendly and it's always worth checking out what the specials are. They make everything in house and the menu changes with the seasonal ingredients that are available. I've been trying to work my way through the menu to try different items, and so far everything I've tried has been great. The first time I visited with friends and we ordered a couple pizzas, their muffaletta, Italian beef, olives and focaccia, and salsa di parmigiano. Everything was so fresh and flavorful and you could tell they put time and effort into the menu items. The fresh house made bread makes a huge difference too. On my second visit I ordered a pepperoni pizza, the Caesar salad, hummus and crostini, and Italian beef sandwich. Everything was packed with care and made it the 30ish minute ride home and tasted delicious. I'll be watching their instagram for more fun specials and I'm excited to head back for a date night.
Stopped by with friends after an event at the Old Sugar Mill. You place your order at the counter and are given a number for your table where your food will be delivered. We ordered one of the specials for the day - chicken, pesto, tomato pizza. The pizza was damn delicious. Very flavorful. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I would come back again if I was in the area.
Loved this place. Great combination pizza and plenty beers on tap. The customer service was great and loved watching them make our pizzas from scratch.
We got the pepperoni pizza and Cobb salad. The pizza was great. Great crust, very cheesy, and lots of flavor. The undercarriage was a little burnt, but it didn't take away from the overall taste. The Cobb salad was pretty average, nothing particularly memorable. It is definitely a little on the pricey side, but the atmosphere and overall vibes were great. We had a good experience and would definitely come back.
10/10 no notes. Haven't even paid for my food yet and I'm writing this as I'm sitting at this table outside by the river in the middle of my meal. That's how good it is. Ordered the margarita pizza and the giant meatball that was on special, "Peach, please" cocktail, and fig mocktail. Absolutely amazing and fantastic service. Must try.
Honestly, it's okay. We ordered two pizzas and the country pâté (pickled veggies, pâté, jamón, and toasted bread). It felt a bit pricey at $24, and unfortunately the pizza was pretty average. The search for great pizza continues.
We had dinner tonight at the new and improved Husick's by Forester. I had not been here since they have taken over the helm and I was duly impressed. Full disclosure, I worked here a year or ten ago. The place was always in need of a deep clean and a makeover. Boy did they do a great job. I also feel like this is finally being run by a group of talented grown up individuals. Matt is doing an amazing job in the kitchen with the food and menu. It is in fact next level. Ross is doing a stellar job front of house. Great customer service and downright welcoming. Please don't wait as long as I did. Do some wine tasting, take a drive, head to the pear festival, but whatever you do...stop at Husick's!

Went to Husick's for my job on a Tuesday around lunch time. We pulled in with a bus of retired residents. So about 10 of us in total. The place didn't have space for a small bus but the School House museum parking lot across the street was pretty empty and they didn't tow me. My group sat at one of the two large tables. It has a rustic lived in feel to the place. There was only one guy cooking that I could see and one guy up front helping people. In spite of that the service was perfection. I've waited longer at places with a full staff. It was a Tuesday before lunch on a pretty quiet road along the river so they probably don't get super busy but they don't seem to be phased by my group. I wish I got the name of the man that waited on us. He was very charming and patient. He joked with the group and never made us feel rushed or a bother even thou we all had to pay separately. I'm so sorry for that. But he went back a forth getting payments like it was nothing. Anyway, I got the Muffaletta sandwich. I seen muffaletta sandwiches on some food network show and wanted to try it for years but never seen it anywhere. It was better than I imagine but I have nothing to compare it to. The focaccia bread was the best part. I don't know if they bake the bread there but it was so fresh and fluffy, I wish I could've had just a whole roll to take home. The sandwich was so good and satisfying, I was full with just half of it. Actually none of us finished anything. Two of the ladies were so full they didn't want to take their leftovers. These are little 70-80+ year old ladies. It was a lot of food for them. If I wasn't at work I would have taken all the extra food but I had to be professional. My co worker got The Forester pizza and loved it. The size is really big for one person but perfect for 2 on a date. Actually two in the group are a married couple that got the Combination pizza and they loved it. We were there maybe 1-2hours and it was a really pleasant atmosphere. Never heard of the place beforehand but I'm a fan now and seeing they have Wu-Tang Wednesdays, I will mos definitely be back in on my day off. read more

My friends and I went here yesterday on the recommendation of our friend and it did not disappoint! We had the Forester pizza, which has roasted potatoes, arugula, mozzarella, caramelized onions and garlic, and the rigatoni and both were great. The flavors were there and everything tasted fresh. We didn't order drinks but I'd like to come back and try some of their cocktails and wine. They have a really cute bar area and it seemed like a chill space overall. The only thing I'd change is to include prices on their cocktail menu because not having any prices listed makes me think their drinks are expensive (just based on past experience from other restaurants). I liked the ambiance a lot; it's a large, open space with tables, high tops and bar seating. The staff was friendly and multi-tasking with both serving and hosting duties. I don't go to the delta much but this place makes me want to explore more cause it's a hidden gem. Thanks! read more

This restaurant just hit their two year anniversary. Had heard many positive things about this place and had to check it out. Was pleasantly surprised that it lived up to all the positive reviews that I had heard. Roasted beef, salad and pizza were sufficient portions for my life. We also ordered this slice of chocolate cake, it could've been a little more more, but it was still good. Casual ambience with a dog friendly patio music played outside when there's not a live band live music schedule on the whiteboard outside. Parking is on the street or a few places in front of the restaurant. Friendly service, although they did not bring out that special that I ordered. I didn't ask about it about as I decided that was full enough. They did take it off of the check at the end as it was never brought out. But I rarely go places where they forget your order. read more

A slice of food heaven in the Clarksburg area! We came here about fourish years ago when it was owned by a previous owner. We heard about the new ownership and we had to swing by to check it out. The space is beautifully redone, it's bright and airy. You order your food and drinks at the counter. They serve local beer and wine (+ we got a spoiler that they may be getting a full bar soon). Now, the food - holy moly we wanted to try everything. They have weekly specials that look incredible. They keep their Instagram updated with their specials menu. We landed on two different sandwiches with two sides, the steak sandwich with a bean salad and a veggie sandwich (we added chicken) with the potato salad. Everything was AMAZING. I am still dreaming about the focaccia bread. 100/10 definitely stop by!!! read more

Stopped in for an early dinner on a Thursday afternoon after wine tasting in the area. From the moment we entered to when we left, we were treated with excellent service and felt at home. Leon, who took our order and made some excellent recommendations, was one of the nicest, knowledgeable and engaging people we have met. The interior is a simple and warm design, with a wine country elegance. The food is prepared to order and represents an eclectic combination of small plates, salads, sandwiches, main dishes and pizza, all of which seems Italian directed. Although we didn't try the pizza, which looked awesome, everything we had was outstanding. The flavors, food quality and presentation were excellent. I really wish they had a place closer to our home in El Dorado Hills, because we would visit often. I highly recommend giving them a try when in Clarksburg. read more

Came in to have a quick lunch with coworkers on a weekday. Love the vibe. Feels historic and has small town charm. Right across from the river. Walk up counter where you order food that's brought to your table. I ordered a steak sandwich, $18.99. My coworker ordered the Pizza. Both were brought to the table promptly and presented well. Steak was super soft. Bread was the star of the show. Soft, flavorful and unique. Potato salad was flavorful, chunky. Small scoop. read more
What a magical night it was! Yelp has truly opened the door to some incredible friendships and this one was no exception. A fellow friend organized a fantastic group date at Husick's, nestled near the river in Clarksburg. The drive down was absolutely beautiful setting the perfect tone for the evening. We all ordered different dishes and sharing them family-style was a great way to enjoy the meal together. I'm really excited that the chef introduces a new specialty menu every week making each visit feel unique. The night we went, there was live music filling the air and the restaurant was buzzing with energy. Street parking is available along the side and across the road, making it easy to access. Dinner on the Delta with Friends [Clarksburg CA] First of all, the building is cool. It is a historic building first built as a general store. It had a wooden sign that hung by the kitchen area, "Frank Husick Hardware store" and "selling general items." I like that new owner and chef, Matt Brown, kept many of the original details of the building. It was a cold, rainy evening when I met with friends, some 8 of us altogether. There was a live band entertaining the guests, The Anthony Coleman Trio. We enjoyed the jazz music despite the loud volume and we had a great time. We placed our orders at the counter. Normally in an evening without a live band it would be a table service. Most of us ordered (for a limited time only) the featured dishes, Asian-inspired -- Salted Fish Fried Rice (salted cod, chicken, garlic, ginger, veggies, sesame and soy sauce) and Pork & Shrimp Siu Mai. Delicious! Inside was nice and cozy with all table seating (no booths). There were a couple of high table tops too. We occupied a round table. Customer service was excellent. With the open kitchen we could see Matt prepare/cook the dishes. Umbrella covered outdoor patio seating available on nice warm, clear days. Husick's by Forester opened its doors on Sept 13, 2024 under the helm of Chef/Owner Matt Brown. If you've ever dined at The Jungle Bird, Golden Bear, or Bodega Kitchen and Cocktails, chances are good that you've had food prepared by Matt. Although Clarksburg is out in the Delta, it's worth the visit if it's out of the way for you. Located next to the Sacramento River, the building has gone through a few iterations over the century+ years and it's currently a charming tap house and restaurant with the original "Frank Husick Hardware" sign above the kitchen! My friends and I visited on a Friday night during Husick's by Forester's "Around the World in 80 Days" in which they showcase weekly specials from different countries (1/2/25 through 3/19/25). The week's specials were: Salted Fish Fried Rice (with salted cod, chicken, ginger, and veggies), Pork and Shrimp Siu Mai (with black mushrooms, topped with green onions and a sweet soy dipping sauce), and Congee (rice porridge with fried garlic, fried shallots, scallions, and toasted peanuts) to coincide with Chinese New Year. On Friday nights, they feature a band (free music!) and change from table service to counter service. The Anthony Coleman Trio (jazz) were playing when we were there... and wow, they were awesome. All of the staff were friendly and brought our dishes out shortly after ordering. Since they also had their regular menu items, we tried the following: *Salted Fish Fried Rice* - This dish was so well-balanced and the rice was soft and fluffy. It tasted equally delicious the day after as leftovers. *Pork and Shrimp Sui Mai* - Each of the 5 dumplings were over-sized and flavorful - easily better than many of the Sui Mai found at Chinese Restaurants. *The Forester Pizza* (roasted red potato, rosemary, caramelized onions, arugula, chèvre, mozzarella, confit garlic) - The gooey cheese was sublime, the crust was perfectly chewy, and together each bite was amazing. *Hangar Steak* (cooked with garlic and rosemary and came with pickled veggies, fresh focaccia bread, and a slice of cambazola cheese) - The steak was very tender, cooked rare (exactly per our request), and seasoned just right. The de-constructed dish was a bit unusual but worked nonetheless. Heck, the steak even paired well with the fried rice! Ha! Do yourself a favor and check out Husick's by Forester. They're open Wednesday through Friday, from 11 am to 9 pm. Try one or three of their weekly specials. Chef Matt has an outstanding repertoire and executes dishes like nobody else. read more

We used Husick's by Forester for my father's Celebration of Life. The venue was beyond gorgeous, the food was delicious, the service was amazing- the owners and staff are kind, supportive, and truly top notch. The space is special, right on the Delta, and we were able to do an Air Force Honors Ceremony on the stage. Highly recommend for an event or a meal. read more

Totally fabulous! We sat outdoors on the beautiful patio, excellent setting along the river road. The food was phenomenal...freshness and flavors were outstanding! The Italian roast beef sandwich was simply one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, one of those memorable items that you can't wait to have again. The kitchen kindly split it in half for us and served it with a delicious and very fresh arugula salad (that dressing!! ). We had the combination pizza as well...again, the quality of everything was outstanding! Loaded with pepperoni...hand grated cheese generously offered at table side. The cocktails were perfect...haven't had a pisco sour outside of the Bay Area and this one shined. The location couldn't be nicer... I was worried about parking but that's a non issue as it is plentiful (at least it was on a Sunday afternoon). The service was impeccable from Quinn and Gunnar...a class act across the board. Attentive and friendly, immediate good vibes. The interior is large, welcoming, and very clean...loaded with fresh flowers everywhere ...the restroom was spotless. Beautiful sink features...breezy open window with pretty curtain looking outdoors. The old schoolhouse across the road is worth a visit. Charming little town, can't wait to return. read more

We made the very short, yet beautiful drive to Clarksburg for dinner from Elk Grove. We had a yummy dinner at Husicks. I had a pizza with mushrooms and feta, and my husband had an Italian Beef sandwich with homemade roll and a generous amount of cheese. Family owned. We will be back! A beautiful space with a nice outside area too. Support this local business! read more

Found this little place on a whim... what a great location, and is very cool building. It's a bit of a drive,, but beautiful scenery on the way. Great beers on tap local farm to table. And the chef. Here is amazing. You order at the bar and then find yourself a table. Food came out fast, and it was all delicious. Great host. Yeah Great bartender. Great staff. Great overall! read more

Me and my boyfriend stopped by for lunch at Husick's and OMG... what a pleasant surprise. The ambiance was so chill and relaxing. It wasn't busy, and it's right across from the river which made it feel even more peaceful. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and treated so nicely. The person who took my order even let me sample a few wines to go with our pizza, which was such a thoughtful touch. Now the pizza... it was FRESH. I mean the crust was just heavenly. But let's talk about the brown butter pecan cake -- OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!! I literally want to call the owner and hug him myself. I think I want this cake for my wedding... it's THAT GOOD. So fresh, moist, and the frosting was absolutely delicious. WOW. I was so pleased with our whole experience. Cannot wait to come back. read more

Veggie sandwich modified to be vegan is DELICIOUS! Went here with a group and they all ordered pizza and salad which everyone loved but I ordered the veggie sandwich option made vegan and it was so good! The staff were very aware of vegan options and awesome. Their focaccia is out of this world. This is a perfect little place to stop off and grab a delicious meal, I'd go back just for this sandwich! read more
