Great tasting pizza located in the heart of Gold Country in the small historic town of Sutter Creek. The restart is in what looks like a historic turn of the century home that's been convert to a restaurant. There's a patio in the front and amazing backyard patio that overlooks Sutter Creek. The pizza itself is all quality crafted to perfection. The pizza crust reminds me of Strawhat pizza or Shakey's from way back in the day. I ordered a medium Gold Dust combo. On the menu the Gold Dust combo doesn't have a lot of toppings compared to other pizza places but all the ingredients they put on it works perfectly and they don't skimp on the toppings. It's really quality you can taste. The ranch dressing tastes like it's house made with the buttermilk you can taste and it's really thick. The ranch doesn't taste like commercially bought sauce from Sysco or any supplier. From Sactown it's just about an hour drive taking the hwy 16 Jackson road. First let me tell you how mad/annoyed you have to make me for me to actively go out of my way to leave a bad review on a local place. On 5/2 I placed an order for two pizzas and some breadsticks. I placed the order online. When I arrived the Manager told me the pizzas got made but the breadsticks didn't for some reason. He offered to refund me and make them asap if I wanted to wait 10 minutes. I have my own employees so I know screw ups happen so I said sure. 10 minutes later I was walking out the door with the freshly made breadsticks just like he said. I thought "they screwed up but they handled it very well." Now first let me tell you they put stickers on the boxes to seal them. When I got home and cut all the stickers and opened the boxes I found that what I actually had was one of my two pizzas and two breadsticks. So when they thought they messed up and didn't make the breadsticks, no they didn't make one of the pizzas, the one for my kids of course. I went onto the website that same evening to the contact us form and filled it out explaining the situation. Asking for a refund on the pizza I didn't get. I waited from 5/2 to 5/11 with no response. So on 5/11 I did the contact us form again. Still no response as of 5/15. I am really disappointed with whoever is in charge of the email. At this point I won't be back or recommending. read more

The service at Gold Dust Pizza was terrible and the supervisor was rude. I would never recommend this restaurant and will certainly never return. On Saturday afternoon May 2nd a small group of us shared a large Gold Digger pizza and cheese sticks, and when we were almost finished I went to the counter and ordered the same to-go and asked the cashier if they could split the pizza and cheese bread in half and put it in separate pizza boxes (since we were 2 couples splitting the take out order and heading home). She said sure, we can do that. So I added a 25% tip to my bill. Then when I went back to pick it up a different worker handed me the pizza and cheese sticks in 1 box each, so I told him that I had asked the initial cashier to split the pizza and cheese sticks in half and put them in separate boxes he said he wasn't told but would do that for me now. A moment later he returned and said he couldn't do that. I explained again that the initial cashier said they would do that as did he a moment earlier. He repeated that he couldn't do that so I asked for a refund. Then a supervisor came over and asked why I wanted a refund so I explained again that the initial cashier and the other employee both said they could split my pizza and cheese sticks in half into separate boxes as I requested. He too said they couldn't do that. So I repeated my ask for a refund which he agreed to and credited my card. I was shocked that the supervisor refused to split my order into separate boxes as requested as agreed upon by 2 separate employees, so I said that he just lost my business and I would never return. We usually go to Gold dust pizza when we're in town very good Pizza, but this time we went there after a car show we ordered a four pizzas. I ordered the giant pizza and when the pizza came I looked at mine and I told the server there must be a mistake. I ordered a giant pizza? It was about 3/4 the size of my buddy's large so I questioned the server and he told me that now it's a giant because it has 12 slices. My answer back was you could slice it 32 times and it still don't make it any bigger. He asked if I want to see the manager, I said yes a manager came over with a very bad attitude and told me yes that was a giant that it just shrinks when they cook it I've never heard of pizza dough shrinking in the oven. I asked how come my buddies large didn't shrink and was way bigger? My giant Pizza looked more like a medium. The manager then asked with a lousy attitude what I wanted him to do about it? I told him you're the manager you tell me what you're gonna do. At that time we were all starving and the pizza had taken about an hour to get there, so I didn't want him to make another one. I asked him to adjust the price. He grabbed my receipt, looked at it, walked away and never came back. I checked my credit card today. He never adjusted anything. Very disappointed.! My son and I take a boys overnight trip every year and we try to go to different places each year. This year, we chose Sutter Creek. One of the big reasons, was because I told him about Gold Dust Pizza. I was here several years ago and loved it. It was even better this time! Their back seating area is outdoors and is right up against Sutter Creek. We loved the scenery and sitting out there. The employees were very friendly and hard working. Their pizza is delicious! They have indoor and outdoor seating available. The backyard outdoor space is very nice with grass and trees. They only have 1 unisex bathroom so there is usually a line.
