Spinach ravioli... - A bowl of spinach mushroom ravioli topped with grated cheese, accompanied by a piece of bread, on a wooden table with a fork and knife.

Just had a great meal here . From the second in the door the service was top notch and pleasant . Enjoyed the look of the interior and the ambiance from the nice music and pleasant staff made the experience just right. I started with and minestrone soup followed by chicken Marsala and we also had a salad and spinach ravioli. Enjoyed our meal w/ a Chardonnay and an iced tea. I hope if you're in the area you get to experience the good food and great service as we had. We arrived a little past opening and the tables were filling fast. Do not rely on someone else's harsh reviews as this place is not as bad a the crappy commercial chains I read they claim to compare Saluti's too.

Polenta - A bowl of creamy polenta topped with meat sauce and shredded cheese, served in a restaurant setting.

Great new place on main st. Jackson, with Italian decor. Food was excellent! Salads are so good, polenta was the best I've had, excellent lasagna, served piping hot and tastes like homemade. Service was great, I recommend making a reservation during F/S/S as they get very busy.

Shrimp Scampi - A bowl of shrimp scampi pasta with creamy sauce is placed on a wooden table in a restaurant, with glasses and utensils nearby.

The food was Amazing! Very fresh flavors with a hint of spice. Great portions and presentation. Wonderful service as well. We will be back for sure:)

Came into town expecting to eat at the Old Brickhouse, did not realize it's a completely different restaurant. The food was very variable. Salad was actually pretty good. My fettuccine Alfredo was okay- pretty overloaded on the garlic imo. I prefer Olive Garden's Fettuccine Alfredo better honestly. All of the hamburgers looked cooked decent on the outside but were raw when cut open and ate. My mom's Salute burger upset her stomach right after eating. Probably from the pile of grease that spilled out of it. She had to constantly keep using the bathroom a few hours after eating it. Service was 4/10. Our waitress had no positive or friendly emotion in her voice. She did not sound happy to be there. I understand not having items on the menu available but at least be aware of that beginning your shift before you have to tell us 10 minutes after ordering. I found it strange she asked my little cousins if they wanted soup or salad with their meals after my mother and I received ours. Good thing was that the water service was nice. One thing that kind of dumbfounded me was that they had no ketchup lol.

My family was on way to Kirkwood to go ski. We decided to spend the night in Jackson which is 1 hr from Kirkwood. Its a small town where we found this family-operated italian place. Its on opposite direction of the downtown. A small place with limited seating, we had to wait 10-15 min to get a table. It was worth the wait. They had 2-4 vegetarian pasta options and a couple of flatbreads/pizza options but they were not available for dinner. We ordered a ravioli and a pasta dish that both came with side of house salad and garlic bread. Both preparations were very good. Their soups are made in chicken broth, so not recommended for vegetarians. Their wine was good as well. All in all only few options available for vegetarians but they all taste very good.

The reviews made it a quick decision to head over to Teresa's Place! As soon as we entered, the staff placed us in a quiet area that made me feel "at home". Servers explained the menu and specials promptly. Warm fresh bread was a perfect starter since we had just enjoyed wine tasting. We ordered the lasagna and chicken D'Aglio. I chose a pesto sauce for my pasta. Their entrees as filling, as these come with minestrone soup, bread, and salad. I couldn't get enough of the croutons, dressing, and garbanzo beans with the fresh, crisp salad! When you're here, make sure to walk around inside to admire the decor and read their family's rich history, including photos with the Pope St. John Paul II. I enjoyed reading a bit of Italy geography and history on the dining table place mat too! This is a big restaurant with plenty of tables, especially ideal for bigger parties like family gatherings. There's so much to see and enjoy while you wait for your food! When I boxed up my leftovers, one of the staff came to me and helped me scrape the creamy, garlic and olive oil sauce from the chicken dish and scrape the pesto from the bottom of the pasta dish into my to-go box. This is the type of personal service I love and appreciate from family-owned restaurants! I'm glad we came across this lovely restaurant with wonderful staff and authentic, delicious Italian food!

Jackson, California. Population: sleepy. Streets: winding like drunk snakes slithering off into the…read moreSierra foothills. My phone? Dead--stone cold, digital corpse. I was stranded, hungry, gut gnawing itself in some Dantean ring of small-town purgatory, when out of the fluorescent chaos of a Raley's supermarket, a Gen Z angel with Wi-Fi wings took pity on me. Her phone pulsed like the North Star and she pointed me down to salvation: Teresa's Place. By God, I arrived. The sun was bleeding out across the horizon, Main Street slipping into shadow, and there it was: a glowing sign like a neon Eucharist. Parking lot across the street. The doorway pulled me in like a vacuum cleaner from 1952. Inside: dim red tones, white lights surgical and holy, Brooklyn noir under an Amador County sky. Louie's Restaurant vibes--but Sollozzo ain't getting shot here, sweetheart. No: this is Jackson. This is love. The service? Think grandma with a cigarette in one hand and a stopwatch in the other--warm but brisk, like they've been running this joint since Prohibition and ain't about to let you slow them down. The Chianti comes in buckets. Jaegermeister on the dessert menu--yes, they're serious, yes, you're taking the shot, yes, Jesus himself approves. Now, the food. THE FOOD. It comes in cathedral portions, a medieval banquet dropped in your lap. My chicken parm? Christ Almighty, it was Everest under a landslide of marinara, parsley fresh as a spring fling, pasta al dente enough to play a banjo tune. Before that came minestrone, a salad with Thousand Island like some glorious church picnic of yesteryear, croutons snapping like gunfire. Bread and butter so fresh you want to slap someone. Then dessert: WALNUT PIE. Who makes walnut pie? Teresa's does. Whipped cream piled like the Alps. I licked the plate like a lunatic. Let's be clear: this is no bland Chili's with soul vacuum décor. This is a time machine, a love letter, a belly hug from the Old Country. Cozy, romantic, small-town crickets outside and Sinatra crooning in your bloodstream. And the kicker? The wall of dollars. A shrine of American greenbacks pinned with a tiny Italian flag, Grandma Teresa watching from the photo frame like a saint with marinara rosary beads. Each bill matched, money funneled to five local charities. You eat, you drink, you laugh, you sin, and you walk away knowing your gluttony just saved the world--or at least a piece of Amador County. Five out of five, no hesitation, no irony. Teresa's Place is the real deal, a mad holy Italian fever dream in a town you didn't even know existed. If North Beach has the flash, Jackson has the soul.

Hotel Sutter Restaurant has been on my list of places to check out in our neck of the woods for a while. We for sure wanted a classy place that served cocktails, and Hotel Sutter fit the bill. Both of us were also craving a good craft burger, and from what I saw in other reviews, the burgers looked delicious. I made a reservation for us on OpenTable just in case, but since it was a weeknight I wasn't too concerned if we had walked in. We were seated nearly immediately, and our server cheerfully asked us what we wanted to drink besides good ole H2O. I was really glad we came to visit around Christmastime, since they were serving holiday cocktails and other beverages. I went with the partridge pear martini, while my husband went with the Santa's spiced cider. My martini was oh so delicious and perfectly strong, and I had a small sip of my husband's cider, which was refreshing with the perfect holiday-esque notes. We read a few mixed reviews on the apps, so went straight to the entrees instead. I chose the bacon jam burger and my husband chose the traveller whiskey burger. Both of us upgraded to the garlic rosemary seasoning. I went with fries and my husband went with tots. Honestly, we were glad that we didn't end up ordering an app, since the burgers themselves were pretty filling! We both asked for medium on the cook temp of our patties, and they delivered. The meat was perfectly juicy with a wonderful charred flavor. The bacon jam was so delicious, and the balsamic arugula paired perfectly with everything. My brioche bun was pillowy and yet did not fall apart with all the juices of the burger. I did not get a chance to try my husband's burger, but he stated that it was also top notch. My fries were piping hot, with a perfect dusting of garlic rosemary flavor and sprinkles of Parmesan cheese. I tried a tot and that was also delightfully crispy and flavorful. We asked for ranch and that went well with both sides. The ketchup was great as well. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Old buildings are always up my alley, and the rich history of Hotel Sutter can truly be felt simply by touching its brick walls (that is, if you believe in the spirit realm). I loved that each table had its own light, but the restaurant had the perfect dim setting for a classy date night. Our server was very friendly and attentive, and kept our waters refilled. We had a concern regarding the pricing of the cider on the bill vs on the menu and that was fixed immediately, with the rest of the staff notified for future reference. It was a tiny discrepancy, but one that we caught quickly and simply wanted to bring up. Hotel Sutter Restaurant is definitely on our places to return to in the future, and I'd love to sit on the balcony some other time and enjoy some brunch and mimosas. If you're looking for an excuse for date night or are just feeling fancy, definitely come relax, sip some delicious cocktails, and enjoy the delicious food Hotel Sutter Restaurant has to offer!

I remembered that Chocolatte was nearby and decided to go support a local business. It's been a hot minute since I've gotten a coffee from them, and I was intrigued by their Valentine's Day menu. Ultimately I went with an iced Cupid's Cherry Kiss, while my husband wanted an affogato with extra shot. The staff were friendly and efficient at making our beverages. While we waited, we took a seat by the window to people watch. My drink was so cute, especially with the sprinkles. They added a lovely texture to a velvety chai. I appreciated that it wasn't too sweet even with the sprinkles and cherry white chocolate. As expected, the affogato was strong with the extra shot, but still smooth without being bitter. I need to remember to come back to Chocolatte more often. There's plenty of seating and the vibes are so cozy. Prices are okay, a little high but I'd rather be supporting a local business than Starbucks. They also have various pastries to choose from. We pulled up Yelp to find a good lunch spot, saw the solid reviews, and decided to give it a try. When we walked in, the atmosphere had that small-town vibe--simple, welcoming, and comfortable. The food was very good. The service wasn't polished like a Michelin star restaurant, but it didn't need to be. It was authentic and heartfelt, and sometimes that matters more. You could tell the staff cared about what they were doing. The place was busy, especially for the time of day we went, which tells you something. People come here on purpose. That says a lot. We were seated quickly, our order was taken without any issues, and the food came out in a reasonable time. When it hit the table, the portions were generous and satisfying. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was too busy enjoying the moment. If you go, post your photos--I'm sure the business would appreciate it. If you've followed my reviews, you know I don't give out 4 stars often, and 5 stars are rare. This place earned that extra star because of how it made me feel--between the food, the atmosphere, and the service, it just worked.
