The pizza is good and has lots of toppings. They are usually running later on pizza done times than they tell you. They have opened up a second business inside the pizza place, a coffee shop with food and Italian sodas that's opened earlier than the pizza.

Best pizza I've ever had! LOADED with toppings and a crispy crust that is out of this world. House made ranch is the best ranch I've ever tasted. Do not pass this pizza place up if you're in town. We will be returning every time we come to Gold Country RV campground! I had the Pine Grove Chicken and my husband had the Pastrami Pizza. Both were scrumptious.

Stopped by while passing through the town, pizza was sooo good I highly recommend, they even have homemade baked goods, Italian sodas & coffee. Great customer service & clean place

We were really happy to have stopped here. We did arrive and the young kid told us things might be slow because they had people called in. They did great with attending us! The food was great & really appreciated how hard the young kid and young gal worked to serve us! Kids had a fun time with the Arcade games. Place is easy to drive by.

Giannini's Italian Dinners - Bowl of lentil soup to share

From the host, to…read moreour waitress, to the food and overall ambiance--it was more than just dinner, it was an experience. The service was prompt, welcoming, and incredibly family-friendly (we had our toddler with us and felt totally comfortable). It really gave that warm, authentic Italian family vibe. Before our meal even arrived, we were treated to bread, polenta with meat sauce, salad, and soup--such a generous and delicious start! Appetizers: * Tomato bruschetta - served on flatbread with the perfect balance of olive oil, spices, and fresh tomato * Salami & olive tray - simple, classic, and nostalgic in the best way Entrees: * Chicken Parmigiana - perfectly cooked with a rich marinara, served with vegetables (we added gnocchi with pesto--highly recommend!) * Veal Milanesa - beautifully breaded and full of flavor, with veggies and pasta of the day * Veal Saltimbocca - packed with flavor, especially the sage--definitely a standout dish * Child's spaghetti & meatball - perfect portion and a great option for little ones Dessert: * Lemon berry mascarpone cake - dense, lemony, and filled with fresh blueberries, topped with a raspberry drizzle--just the right amount of sweetness * Vanilla ice cream for the toddler (they even offered chocolate syrup--thoughtful touch!) Pricing felt very reasonable for the amount and quality of food--comparable to other spots in the area. If you're looking for a special, memorable dining experience in Amador County, Giannini's is absolutely worth a visit!

We are…read morevegetarians and a lot of the other restaurants that were open (6pm on Friday) did not have veggie options surprisingly. I figured we couldn't go wrong with italian and this place was very close. I walked in and immediately loved the look of the restaurant. If you've been to Buca di Beppo it's kind of like that with lots of photos on the wall and italian statues around. It wasn't too busy and we were able to be seated right away. The table was set with a cute salad plate that I just loved the pattern of. Our waiter was young but friendly enough. The menu isn't the largest but it has all the staples. No pictures so I took to Yelp and Google to get a look at the food and see was was recommended. I settled on Eggplant Parmesean and my husband went with Fettuccini al Alberto. The waiter brought out bread and butter and parmesan cheese. The bread was ok, it didn't seem homemade and was a little bit like store brought sliced white bread. I was starving though so I welcomed anything to get started. I wish there had been olive oil and vinegar though. Next he brought out a big plate of polenta, which unfortunately was smothered in meat sauce. We had mentioned to him that we were vegetarians twice when we were ordering, so it was pretty disappointing to be presented with a meat dish. We pointed to him we couldn't eat the polenta with the meat sauce and he apologized but they did not offer to replace the dish with a regular red sauce. I was bummed because it looked really good and I really wish they had brought out a regular one. Seems like they could just use the red sauce as a standard so it After that there was a salad which had a red wine vinegar and olive oil, it also came with peppers, chickpeas and celery, which I thought was a nice way to add some color and flavor to the salad. We then were brought a lentil soup in a large blue bowl. The blue bowl seemed like an odd vessel but it worked. The soup was very tasty! Finally our entrees came. The entree portions were a little on the smaller side compared to other restaurants, however it is an appropriate amount considering how many appetizers they provide before it. I was surprised the eggplant parm didn't come with a side of spaghetti, but I could add some for $5. The eggplant was good, not overly fried and the red sauce was very tasty. My husband was very happy with the Fettuccini al Alberto (which was basically Alfredo). Overall this is kind of a funny place that had a quirky charm. I would come back again knowing what to ask for in terms of the polenta.

The reviews made it a quick decision to head over to Teresa's Place! As soon as we entered, the staff placed us in a quiet area that made me feel "at home". Servers explained the menu and specials promptly. Warm fresh bread was a perfect starter since we had just enjoyed wine tasting. We ordered the lasagna and chicken D'Aglio. I chose a pesto sauce for my pasta. Their entrees as filling, as these come with minestrone soup, bread, and salad. I couldn't get enough of the croutons, dressing, and garbanzo beans with the fresh, crisp salad! When you're here, make sure to walk around inside to admire the decor and read their family's rich history, including photos with the Pope St. John Paul II. I enjoyed reading a bit of Italy geography and history on the dining table place mat too! This is a big restaurant with plenty of tables, especially ideal for bigger parties like family gatherings. There's so much to see and enjoy while you wait for your food! When I boxed up my leftovers, one of the staff came to me and helped me scrape the creamy, garlic and olive oil sauce from the chicken dish and scrape the pesto from the bottom of the pasta dish into my to-go box. This is the type of personal service I love and appreciate from family-owned restaurants! I'm glad we came across this lovely restaurant with wonderful staff and authentic, delicious Italian food!

Jackson, California. Population: sleepy. Streets: winding like drunk snakes slithering off into the…read moreSierra foothills. My phone? Dead--stone cold, digital corpse. I was stranded, hungry, gut gnawing itself in some Dantean ring of small-town purgatory, when out of the fluorescent chaos of a Raley's supermarket, a Gen Z angel with Wi-Fi wings took pity on me. Her phone pulsed like the North Star and she pointed me down to salvation: Teresa's Place. By God, I arrived. The sun was bleeding out across the horizon, Main Street slipping into shadow, and there it was: a glowing sign like a neon Eucharist. Parking lot across the street. The doorway pulled me in like a vacuum cleaner from 1952. Inside: dim red tones, white lights surgical and holy, Brooklyn noir under an Amador County sky. Louie's Restaurant vibes--but Sollozzo ain't getting shot here, sweetheart. No: this is Jackson. This is love. The service? Think grandma with a cigarette in one hand and a stopwatch in the other--warm but brisk, like they've been running this joint since Prohibition and ain't about to let you slow them down. The Chianti comes in buckets. Jaegermeister on the dessert menu--yes, they're serious, yes, you're taking the shot, yes, Jesus himself approves. Now, the food. THE FOOD. It comes in cathedral portions, a medieval banquet dropped in your lap. My chicken parm? Christ Almighty, it was Everest under a landslide of marinara, parsley fresh as a spring fling, pasta al dente enough to play a banjo tune. Before that came minestrone, a salad with Thousand Island like some glorious church picnic of yesteryear, croutons snapping like gunfire. Bread and butter so fresh you want to slap someone. Then dessert: WALNUT PIE. Who makes walnut pie? Teresa's does. Whipped cream piled like the Alps. I licked the plate like a lunatic. Let's be clear: this is no bland Chili's with soul vacuum décor. This is a time machine, a love letter, a belly hug from the Old Country. Cozy, romantic, small-town crickets outside and Sinatra crooning in your bloodstream. And the kicker? The wall of dollars. A shrine of American greenbacks pinned with a tiny Italian flag, Grandma Teresa watching from the photo frame like a saint with marinara rosary beads. Each bill matched, money funneled to five local charities. You eat, you drink, you laugh, you sin, and you walk away knowing your gluttony just saved the world--or at least a piece of Amador County. Five out of five, no hesitation, no irony. Teresa's Place is the real deal, a mad holy Italian fever dream in a town you didn't even know existed. If North Beach has the flash, Jackson has the soul.

The staff were polite and on top of everything. I had the lasagna and it was hot from beginning to end. I felt it could use more pasta, but it was rich and satisfying. She also really enjoyed the amount of cheese and artichoke in the beignets. The artichoke was present but not overwhelming, and the cheese was creamy and delicious. The meal came with a side of warm bread, and it paired perfectly with the side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We look forward to many more meals here. We sat outside with a nice view of a small creek. The sound of the freeway can sometimes take away from the peaceful outside ambience, but it's nothing the restaurant can control. My husband fell in love with their meat sauce I ordered when we were there in March for a birthday dinner so I thought I'd order him take out dinner tonight as a nice treat since he was working in the area. I called just after 5 pm when they open, but no answer. I get that they are busy so gave it a few minutes and tried again. This time the young gal who answered just picked up and said "hold!" (no greeting, very abrupt & almost angry sounding) and finally came back 10 minutes later (5:18pm, no niceties like "thanks for holding"). I know the menu well so quickly gave her the order with the salad dressing preference. She abruptly told me salad is an extra charge on to go orders (ok, fine) and that the food wouldn't be ready until at least 5:50pm, almost as if she was trying to bait me into canceling the order. I've never been made to feel like such a bother to an establishment that I'm about to give $50 to for a couple take out containers of spaghetti & meatballs. I grew up in the family restaurant business and my parents taught me better customer service skills by the time I was 10. Funny how one bad employee, clearly with a gnarly chip on her shoulder, can make the whole establishment look bad. I'm glad it was my husband who picked up the food because if I had gotten any more attitude, I would've had to use some of my "big girl" words on her.

Centered around the productive Plymouth Consolidated Mine, it became a key hub for quartz mining, later evolving into the "Gateway to the Shenandoah Valley" for its renowned wine region. Taste is in the heart of downtown. With two menus and seating areas (the dining room or bar) you must order off the menu where you sit (no cross ordering which is great). Sit at the bar for the bar menu or sit in the dining room for a fixed price menu only but with fantastic choices and you can even get multiple section dishes which they scale down the generous size of a single dish so you can try more food (genius strategy). We were celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary and we went all out like I hit the lottery (don't we all wish?). I started out with the caviar service which came with these incredible potato cakes rather than the usual mini Bellinis. Then we had oysters on the half shell, perfectly shucked, clean and no grit. Nothing ruins an oyster experience like a grit of shell or sand. None of that here! My photos show the entire meal which rivaled many restaurants I have been to in San Francisco. This is a Michelin level dinner but at a reasonable price considering the portions (LARGE) unlike The French Laundry where you get 80% less food for 75% higher prices. This is a place not to miss and is now my #1 pick for January 2026 for a high end quality meal with white glove service in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. I will be returning to check the bar menu which has completely different food. The menu will change so what I listed might not be on the menu but the Mushroom Cigars have always been on the menu for years. It clearly is a crowd pleaser and there is nothing here to critique other than you want to just keep eating! 5 Stars 1 Michelin Star (needs to be awarded here in my book!)
