Cute little restaurant, lots of seating, street parking when spots are available. Family owned and operated, the woman owner is delightful and her son who works in the restaurant is sweet. I ordered a breakfast burger which was delicious. Comes with cheese bacon and a sunny side up fried egg on top. If you want a different style cooked egg, eg hard cooked you have to ask. Also comes with lettuce, tomato, fresh and pickled onion plus you can ask for ketchup and mustard. Great size, delicious and the bun was like no other. They also have gluten free buns. I got smashed red potatoes as my side, also delicious. I opted for water, it's "strawberry" water so has the essence of strawberries. The large pitcher which they serve from has big ripe strawberries. What a refreshing treat instead of plain or lemon water. My mom and I had a very nice breakfast, again the customer service was excellent and the woman owner chatted with us, was quite friendly and personable. Again she was just a delight. Rosebud's Cafe is a gem of a find for breakfast in the Foothills. Family-run, the establishment is cute, quaint, friendly, and most importantly, the site of amazing food. We started off our meal with an order of the cafe's clssic beignets that were out of this world! We followed that up with a breakfast burrito and quiche -- both were large and fantastic. My family and I were staying in Jackson for the weekend to go to skiing at Kirkwood. The Rose Bud was a fantastic find in Jackson. We liked the interior and decorations. Good coffee. Breakfast was delicious. We ordered the Cali Benedict, Salmon benedict and a Vegan burrito. All were fresh, well made, not over seasoned and the smashed fried potatoes were crazy good. Good service. We had big hopes as we entered this eclectic magical place. The inside was so imaginative and they had a great breakfast friendly band playing. The food was pretty good as well however, it took more than 45 minutes for the food to come out. They have a weird service model, you wait in line to order then they tell you where to sit and act like a full service restaurant. The guy at the front, manger maybe owner, was borderline rude. As my wife and I do not eat much we order beignets and Egg Benedict to split and he rudely said if you are sharing you have to spilt the dish, $4.95 extra, because we will not give an extra plate. I said fine, whatever, when our food finally came, they missed up and gave us 2 complete orders. Soon afterwards the manager/owner hurried by and said they gave you 2, as we did not know - like we were hiding something. The downtown is so well preserved, I half expected a horse and buggy to roll by and offer me a ride to the saloon. Now, let's talk about Rosebud Café. Yes, the place leans proudly into its rainbow-hued politics with décor that lets you know exactly where they stand--but hey, I don't go to brunch to debate, I go to eat. And eat we did. We kicked things off with the beignets, and let me tell you, these are not your typical French Quarter fluff balls. These are sturdy beignets--like the kind Paul Bunyan might snack on between chopping down redwoods. We split ten between the three of us and were nearly rolled out of there like Violet Beauregarde at the chocolate factory. Still, we pressed on like the pioneers before us, bravely ordering a single entree to share: the corned beef hash. And oh, sweet pioneer ancestors--this was the real deal. No mystery-meat-from-a-can situation here. This was homemade, generous, and absolutely delicious. Crispy, buttery potatoes cuddled up with perfectly seasoned corned beef in a way that made us consider unbuttoning our jeans right then and there. Portion-wise? It could've fed a small militia. We didn't get to try more because, frankly, we were stuffed and slightly ashamed of ourselves--but in the best way. Love, love, love this cafe! We are plant-based eaters (vegan) and there are many menu options to choose from. All we've tried so far has been great, and we are headed there today to try more. The staff is super friendly - unusually so. It's like they are all genuinely happy and nice folks who love their job and people. The restaurant decor and vibe shouts "everyone is welcome here." I get a psychological boost every time I come here. The world feels gentler and kinder and my body gets nourished with healthy, tasty food. We stopped here for a bite on our way to Sutter Creek. Waitress was very friendly upon arrival. Young gal with tattoos on her throat. We ordered their version of a Monte Cristo to split. Also, a coffee and cappuccino. We had to ask twice for our coffees. Took her at least 10 mins to bring those. The cappuccino was tiny and so bitter that I couldn't even drink it. Coffee was fine. The food arrived with 2 plates so we could split it ourselves. It had VERY little bacon inside and was soggy due to the berry compote being put all over the top of it even though I asked for it on the side. We left very dissatisfied. She charged us $4 for split plate fee!! My husband paid the bill and didn't notice that. Had I saw that I would have addressed it. It was my birthday and with the cost of everything these days a splurge for us. To gouge customers with a $4 split fee and then just bring them 2 plates is not kind..even if they did split it for us WHY the charge?? We are Seniors on a fixed income and small appetites so we split plates often. Not once have we been charged! Her attitude changed upon bringing us our coffees as if we were the problem. Inside the decor is bright without being kitschy and there are different seating arrangements (bistro, coffee shop, restaurant). Original art and local artists are featured everywhere you look. The food, though, is what makes this place. You can tell a good coffee by its decaf, and I was already pumped on caffeine, so decaf it was, and it was good. They brewed it fresh for me. Our second time having brunch after coming down from Kirkwood. The seating arrangement is kind of different, and you have to order up front. I highly recommend their beignets. They are freshly made and comes with sauce of the day. We had both mango and strawberry in the past and they are amazing! The paired with the warm donuts. The other food are quite good as well, the croque madame was quite filling . For some reason they deep fry the potatoes and it's pretty crispy. The French toast were good but the chef breakfast is a little underwhelming with just a couple of eggs and a little bit of meat and some black beans. Overall a good spot for brunch even though it's a little expensive. Having that said is one of the only LGBT friendly establishment in a deeply conservative county. read more

We waited for 20 minutes in the line and when I asked a simple question, do you think we'll be able to sit to eat the women serving was very rude and had a really strange entitled attitude. After that she continued to be standoffish while serving us almost treating us as if we'd done something wrong for simply asking. I know you're busy and that's great, but kindness to your customers who are waiting patiently goes along way. We were really looking forward to try this restaurant after hearing good things about it and I do like their politics so I wanted to support them. We went during the week so it wasn't very busy and waited quite a while to get seated. Then we waited quite a while to get a drink order in. Then we waited quite a while to get our food ordered....you can see where this is going. My husband got a breakfast burrito and it was dry and didn't come with salsa. It was served on a metal tray instead of a plate and this metal tray had dried food on the edge....gross. Who wants to eat off of a metal tray? It's not "fancy" or "hip". Just put it on a plate. My food was good so I guess I got lucky? Coffee was bad....weak and strange tasting. If you're vegan or vegetarian you will probably like the menu. If you're used to eating 'two eggs over medium with bacon, hash browns and wheat toast' then you'll have to piece that together with side orders and end up paying twice what you should. A basic everyday breakfast is not on their menu. I believe they do have something on the menu called "basic breakfast" and it is nothing of the sort...lol.
