We decided to try the Waffle House for breakfast and they did not disappoint. The restaurant has an old restaurant vibe but the food was delicious. I had the chicken and waffles. Chicken was very juicy and the waffle was cooked just right. My friend had the eggs Benedict and said the eggs were cooked perfectly. Service was great! This morning my Mom and I were headed to Nevada and we always stop in Jackson for breakfast, the coffee is good, we like the friendly little waitress and the food is good. Until this morning our server was very sweet and so happen she attended the College where we live. The coffee was good but our breakfast was not the same, as soon as she put the plate down in front of me I knew and my Mom the same.. Such a shame, did a Corporation buy the restaurant? That is what happens when the owner sales to a Corporation. We won't be back and my brother and sister in law that was their stop also but they said that was their experience also last time they ate here. read more

The Jackson Waffle Shop is one of my favorite local spots to eat and feel like family. The atmosphere is always cozy and inviting as well. This morning, I was feeling sad because today would have been my best friend's 30th birthday if she hadn't passed away in February 2020. My dad and I decided to go to breakfast at the waffle shop to be around people who love us and to allow me to order a special memorial breakfast to honor my best friend's birthday today. Melissa was our server today and when I explained what today was and what I wanted to order, she told me "I'll take care of you" and that made me feel so good. Monique and Roselle gave me hugs and reminded me to smile today and to keep praying. Bella was also there and told me she was sorry I was having a hard day and she hoped it got better. Everyone is always so warm and accommodating and makes us feel like we are one big family. Used Yelp to find some early breakfast places. Atmosphere - This place is worn out. Everything needs a serious update, from the ceiling to the floor. Food Drinks - Coffee, never did get to the bottom of my mug. Breakfast - I know I am a place that has Waffle in their name. But I went with the Portuguese Skillet. The main protein was two egg, over easy for me, and the Linguiça sausage. Linguiça is one of my favorite pizza toppings. I was hoping it was sliced like a pepperoni, is stead I had little nuggets, it was still good that way. I think a whole stick of butter was used in my skillet. The cube potatoes were like little French fries, too small to enjoy like a fry. Crunchy and little soft potato inside. The two eggs did have oozy yokes which helped the over cooked potatoes. Could have used some more peppers and onions, I left a mound of potatoes behind. Service - Clearly I was the odd man here, my waitress knew everyone. She even knew the couples order next to me. My timing was bad I must arrived after a large group came in. But over all service was really good. Who ever wrapped my napkin with the silverware, try drying your hands before you start your task. Would like to start by saying thank you to the ladies at the waffle shop they were awesome. We had come from the Central Valley about 2 hours away. Went to the grinding rock park for my wife's birthey and then came to have lunch. We were meeting some friends for lunch who we had not seen sense COVID. We met our friends at a different restaurant. There was 7 of us and they said it would be a little wate. After an hour waiting my wife started calling around and called the waffle shop. The lady at the waffle shop said she could accommodate us and would setup a table. The waffle shop was not very far away and when we arrived the table was set up and waiting. The service and food was very good and they even brought my wife a Strawberry Shortcake for her birthday. Oh my goodness I love supporting my local restaurants! The food is always consistent! Bella was our server and she was literally the best 5 star experience I've had. Bella was very attentive to our table, making sure everything was up to par and if we needed anything else. Not only my pancakes were so bomb but everything else that came along with it was delicious! My husband went for breakfast a few days ago and asked if he could be seated near the door and her response was "I'll sit you where I sit you." So we left. This pains me to write this, but this restaurant is a health hazard. This was one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. We were sat fairly quick, got our coffee (which was $4 for one cup of black coffee), and looked over the menu to order. Everything seemed like it was covered in dust and never really wiped down. It smelled stale and dirty, not welcoming breakfast food. When the server came back, we ordered and asked for coffee creamer. Never received it. Got our food, asked for coffee creamer (again) and two glasses of water. Never got either of those. Got waffles and eggs, egg scramble, and some sausage. Food was okay, just regular breakfast. Bill was $70. In no world was the food worth $70, and it seemed like there was extra charges for basic stuff that wasn't included in the meal on the menu. One glass of orange juice was $5. Our server was not attentive, nice, welcoming, or helpful at all. Seems like there are regulars there who are the only people the two servers care about. Took home leftovers and heated it up now to eat. Took a big bite of a biscuit with gravy, and a HUGE BLACK HAIR wrapped around my tongue. I know things happen, but this hair was EMBEDDED into my meal. This was my final straw before deciding if I should write a review. In conclusion, I think this restaurant is a mom and pop store for the same 10 people, and if you are outside that demographic, please save yourself some heartache and skip this place. My mom has been raving about this place for a while now. So today as me and my wife were headed to Nevada by way of Jackson Ca we had to check it out. I already had seen a Waffle Shop when I drive through Turlock. But never thought to stop. But since my mom has been going on and on about the Waffle Shop. I said ok here's our chance. If you don't know where to look you can easily pass right by it as it sits behind a Taco Bell in a shopping plaza. We went in and I immediately noticed how spacious it was inside. We were greeted immediately by a very nice lady named Rosanna. She seated us, gave us menus and took our drink orders. The menu is filled with plenty of great choices for breakfast as well as lunch. It was just about lunch time but we opted for breakfast. My wife chose the strawberry waffle which came with 2 eggs 2 bacon with 2 sausage. I had the bacon omelet special with hash browns and biscuits with gravy. As we waited for our food Rosanna brought us our coffee. The coffee was very good. But I noticed how the locals had a great relationship with the staff. Warm friendly and personable. We struck up a conversation with Rosann about how long this establishment had been in this location and told each other about our background. What a delightful lady. I couldn't help but over hear a couple of elderly ladies in the next booth complaining. I thought wow what's there to complain about here? I mean our food arrived in timely fashion and was amazing! So idk what their experience was. But we really enjoy our meal and visit. Needless to say we will be coming back when we are in the area. I should have known all bets were off when I started the New Year by accidentally calling my coworker to ask if "his" restaurant was open that day. He paused, jokingly said, "Come on down!", then hung up after I thanked him. For a delicious comfort food stop, this is it. Covid precautions were done well. Our food was fantastic. Wife had a huge chicken fried steak that was tasty along with a huge plate of hash browns and eggs/toast. I had the portuguese skillet which was heaping on the plate. The potatoes were nice and crispy, sausage delicious. Our son had a waffle with eggs and bacon. We could not finish it all, everything was so good.
