Chicken fried steak and the best gravy!!!

Found this gem on a random roadtrip . Food was amazing place was a little dated but that makes it more fun !! Service was good. Our waitress was super nice. You will not leave hungry that's for sure .

The Jackson Waffle Shop is one of my favorite local spots to eat and feel like family. The atmosphere is always cozy and inviting as well. This morning, I was feeling sad because today would have been my best friend's 30th birthday if she hadn't passed away in February 2020. My dad and I decided to go to breakfast at the waffle shop to be around people who love us and to allow me to order a special memorial breakfast to honor my best friend's birthday today. Melissa was our server today and when I explained what today was and what I wanted to order, she told me "I'll take care of you" and that made me feel so good. Monique and Roselle gave me hugs and reminded me to smile today and to keep praying. Bella was also there and told me she was sorry I was having a hard day and she hoped it got better. Everyone is always so warm and accommodating and makes us feel like we are one big family. Thank you Jackson Waffle Shop for not only providing good food and a comfortable atmosphere, but also always having no shortage of love to provide. You really helped make today special as I celebrated the memory of my best friend and honored the life that she lived as well as her influence on my own life.

Waffle Shop 543 S State Hwy 49, Jackson CA 95642 July 20, 2022, Wednesday - 7 AM for breakfast 1 Adult Atmosphere - 2 stars Food - 3 stars Service - 4 stars Background - Out here on a business trip and was staying down the road at the Holiday Inn Express. Used Yelp to find some early breakfast places. Atmosphere - This place is worn out. Everything needs a serious update, from the ceiling to the floor. Food Drinks - Coffee, never did get to the bottom of my mug. Breakfast - I know I am a place that has Waffle in their name. But I went with the Portuguese Skillet. The main protein was two egg, over easy for me, and the Linguiça sausage. Linguiça is one of my favorite pizza toppings. I was hoping it was sliced like a pepperoni, is stead I had little nuggets, it was still good that way. I think a whole stick of butter was used in my skillet. The cube potatoes were like little French fries, too small to enjoy like a fry. Crunchy and little soft potato inside. The two eggs did have oozy yokes which helped the over cooked potatoes. Could have used some more peppers and onions, I left a mound of potatoes behind. Service - Clearly I was the odd man here, my waitress knew everyone. She even knew the couples order next to me. My timing was bad I must arrived after a large group came in. But over all service was really good. Who ever wrapped my napkin with the silverware, try drying your hands before you start your task. Future - Probably will try Denny's next time.

Oh my goodness I love supporting my local restaurants! The food is always consistent! Bella was our server and she was literally the best 5 star experience I've had. Bella was very attentive to our table, making sure everything was up to par and if we needed anything else. Not only my pancakes were so bomb but everything else that came along with it was delicious! I am a huge fan of Waffle Shop because not only the servers are amazing but the clientele they have from their everyday regulars that come in, sit at their usual table and order their usual food. Keep supporting our local businesses so they can bring these amazing vibes back into our lives!

It's an old diner with regular everyday customers. Nothing fancy but consistent. Could use a face lift but the food is good.

A Pleasant Surprise with a Small-Town Feel…read more This one caught me off guard--in a good way. I was out with my family practicing for my daughter's driving test at the DMV up the street. We pulled up Yelp to find a good lunch spot, saw the solid reviews, and decided to give it a try. When we walked in, the atmosphere had that small-town vibe--simple, welcoming, and comfortable. The food was very good. The service wasn't polished like a Michelin star restaurant, but it didn't need to be. It was authentic and heartfelt, and sometimes that matters more. You could tell the staff cared about what they were doing. The place was busy, especially for the time of day we went, which tells you something. People come here on purpose. That says a lot. We were seated quickly, our order was taken without any issues, and the food came out in a reasonable time. When it hit the table, the portions were generous and satisfying. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was too busy enjoying the moment. If you go, post your photos--I'm sure the business would appreciate it. If you've followed my reviews, you know I don't give out 4 stars often, and 5 stars are rare. This place earned that extra star because of how it made me feel--between the food, the atmosphere, and the service, it just worked. If I'm ever back in the area, I'm definitely coming back for another meal.

I was excited to try this place as I was in town for a wedding and it had good reviews. It has potential but unfortunately today was a let down. My vegan friend had gone the night before and enjoyed her peanut noodle bowl with tofu! So that's good apparently) So we had high hopes but when we went today before 10am they were out of black beans for the one vegan option for my friend and didn't offer to make it without or anything it was painful to watch and to eat in front of her. Lattes looked good. My boyfriend is not picky but said the house coffee was average and got the All Sutter Creek- bacon eggs and toast and it just looked sad. Bacon was burnt, wheat toast was small and looked like cheap wonderbread. Eggs were fine but nothing better then we have at home he said. I got the Handford Benedict and it looked good but tasted strange. I didn't like the hollandaise sauce, it was tangy. Eggs were cooked well and potatoes were good, but overall with prosciutt ( meh), steamed unseasoned spinach and goat cheese made it too tangy. Hot sauce made it edible. French toast looked yummy with a nice amount of fruit on top and my friend seemed to enjoy it. I don't think I'd come back since the food is so unpredictable. A few things to fix - the bench seat wobbled whenever anyone moved at the other end, and the hot sauce wooden cap needs to be glued on! - it keep turning and comes off and gets glue in peoples food and looks gross underneath. I hope this helps you guys improve.

Meh: The Monte Cristo was lukewarm with way too much raspberry preserves. The french toast bread had good flavor except it was soggy in the middle like it needed to cook longer. Thumbs Down: My husband described his Americano as tasting like "concentrated Folgers".

You order up front before taking a seat and there is a good selection of sandwiches for lunch as well as coffee and freshly-baked goods. We missed the window for breakfast but they also serve made-to-order breakfast dishes. My husband and I just wanted a smaller meal for lunch that day, so we settled on the 1/2 sandwich and soup combo. While the portion sizes are on the smaller side, they were balanced and filling for what we wanted (as well as very reasonably priced), and we ended our meal with an in-house baked oatmeal raisin cookie. The cookie was huge and packed with oats but still delicious, with the proper texture and not overly sweet. Our sandwiches were simple yet delicious, with fresh ingredients and bread. The clam chowder was the soup of the day and so so good, I love when clam chowder has potatoes with the skin still attached. Our food also arrived pretty quickly, I would say within 10 minutes of ordering. Water is self-serve. We did not get a chance to try their coffee or the quiche that they're known for, but we will return to Sina's for sure and definitely recommend this cute little cafe for anyone looking for a quick, cozy meal in Sutter Creek!

The reviews made it a quick decision to head over to Teresa's Place! As soon as we entered, the staff placed us in a quiet area that made me feel "at home". Servers explained the menu and specials promptly. Warm fresh bread was a perfect starter since we had just enjoyed wine tasting. We ordered the lasagna and chicken D'Aglio. I chose a pesto sauce for my pasta. Their entrees as filling, as these come with minestrone soup, bread, and salad. I couldn't get enough of the croutons, dressing, and garbanzo beans with the fresh, crisp salad! When you're here, make sure to walk around inside to admire the decor and read their family's rich history, including photos with the Pope St. John Paul II. I enjoyed reading a bit of Italy geography and history on the dining table place mat too! This is a big restaurant with plenty of tables, especially ideal for bigger parties like family gatherings. There's so much to see and enjoy while you wait for your food! When I boxed up my leftovers, one of the staff came to me and helped me scrape the creamy, garlic and olive oil sauce from the chicken dish and scrape the pesto from the bottom of the pasta dish into my to-go box. This is the type of personal service I love and appreciate from family-owned restaurants! I'm glad we came across this lovely restaurant with wonderful staff and authentic, delicious Italian food!

Jackson, California. Population: sleepy. Streets: winding like drunk snakes slithering off into the…read moreSierra foothills. My phone? Dead--stone cold, digital corpse. I was stranded, hungry, gut gnawing itself in some Dantean ring of small-town purgatory, when out of the fluorescent chaos of a Raley's supermarket, a Gen Z angel with Wi-Fi wings took pity on me. Her phone pulsed like the North Star and she pointed me down to salvation: Teresa's Place. By God, I arrived. The sun was bleeding out across the horizon, Main Street slipping into shadow, and there it was: a glowing sign like a neon Eucharist. Parking lot across the street. The doorway pulled me in like a vacuum cleaner from 1952. Inside: dim red tones, white lights surgical and holy, Brooklyn noir under an Amador County sky. Louie's Restaurant vibes--but Sollozzo ain't getting shot here, sweetheart. No: this is Jackson. This is love. The service? Think grandma with a cigarette in one hand and a stopwatch in the other--warm but brisk, like they've been running this joint since Prohibition and ain't about to let you slow them down. The Chianti comes in buckets. Jaegermeister on the dessert menu--yes, they're serious, yes, you're taking the shot, yes, Jesus himself approves. Now, the food. THE FOOD. It comes in cathedral portions, a medieval banquet dropped in your lap. My chicken parm? Christ Almighty, it was Everest under a landslide of marinara, parsley fresh as a spring fling, pasta al dente enough to play a banjo tune. Before that came minestrone, a salad with Thousand Island like some glorious church picnic of yesteryear, croutons snapping like gunfire. Bread and butter so fresh you want to slap someone. Then dessert: WALNUT PIE. Who makes walnut pie? Teresa's does. Whipped cream piled like the Alps. I licked the plate like a lunatic. Let's be clear: this is no bland Chili's with soul vacuum décor. This is a time machine, a love letter, a belly hug from the Old Country. Cozy, romantic, small-town crickets outside and Sinatra crooning in your bloodstream. And the kicker? The wall of dollars. A shrine of American greenbacks pinned with a tiny Italian flag, Grandma Teresa watching from the photo frame like a saint with marinara rosary beads. Each bill matched, money funneled to five local charities. You eat, you drink, you laugh, you sin, and you walk away knowing your gluttony just saved the world--or at least a piece of Amador County. Five out of five, no hesitation, no irony. Teresa's Place is the real deal, a mad holy Italian fever dream in a town you didn't even know existed. If North Beach has the flash, Jackson has the soul.

The service was great and the dining room was wonderful. Quiet and welcoming. Now the quality and taste. The pasta was just not quite done. The sauce and linguine were lukewarm and the shrimp was overdone and crunchy (they were not fried shrimp). The sauce was very good but served lukewarm. My Wife ordered the fish and chips. The fish was not seasoned prior to cooking. The crust was very good but the fish was tasteless. There was salt on the table but this does not replace seasoning before cooking. Malt vinegar might have helped but was not provided. I was torn between the pasta which I love and steak. The lone wolf is a steak house and should have went with the steak to see how it stacked up. This was our first time dining at the Lone Wolf, there might be a second to try the steak. Some would say. Why did I not address this at the restaurant. Well addressing the quality of food when we dine out ruins a good evening and I don't like to do that. I am not supper picky. I like simple dishes prepared well. I do not like food that is under/over cooked. I like my hot food hot and cold food cold. This is not nit picking, but basic food service. If the management reads this my review is to be informative regarding my visit, not being overly critical and would like it viewed as such. If I have a great experience I love to tip well and write a review focusing on what I I thought made it a great visit Thanks and have a great day
