We go to Franks Cafe almost every day. Their French Dip is always delicious. Their service is the best . It's like home cooking. I have never had food there that is bad. I read a review about their experience at Franks and the French Dip and the service I just want to say we were sitting at the table in front of them and the waitress was not rude but did want to know why she was unsatisfied because she wanted to correct it. And she did not guilt her into anything. She did defend their food because there is nothing wrong . There were several people having the French Dip and no complaints. Every time we visit the area, we make an absolute point to visit Franks. The family who owns it and runs the Cafe are wonderful people, always quick with a joke and a smile. The food that we ordered was narely average in taste. Biscuits and gravy, French toast, eggs, sausage. The wait staff was slow to get to our table to take our order. It took 25 minutes for our breakfast to arrive, the place was not busy at all. There was a group of 10 local friends show up about 15 minutes after us and they got immediate attention and their drinks arrived faster than ours. We finly got our meals, but less then 5 minutes later, that large group got theirs. I was very disappointed in this place and I have been here a number of times before. I don't think that locals should get better service than us occasional visitors. I am going to consider not eating here again, this left a sour taste in my mind. Average food, slow service. Had the French dip sandwich, the worst one I've ever had. It came on a roll with the meat grilled onions and cheese and Aju sauce. The meat was dry with absolutely nothing a hint of flavor. The Aju also had no flavor it was like dipping in dark water. I asked the waiter to send my food back and I'll just eat the fruit. The waitress asked me what's wrong with it and I told her it wasn't good and didn't have any flavor she said to me "so you want to waste all of this food" I replied that it wasn't good so yes. She then told me people come from all over to get the sandwiches. I told her that that's nice but it wasn't good food. I don't see the any reason why she tried to make me feel guilty about it? When we paid it felt like a lot of money so I asked if she charged for the plate i returned and she said no and went over the receipt with us. As we were about to walk out she had to give us another comment about there being nothing wrong with the food. My brother and I told her the food tasted like sh** and there was no reason for her to guilt me and make me feel bad. Why would I pay for something that taste so bad it's not edible!?! First thing about Moke Hill you'll notice is that you blinked and passed the town and hit Frank's. Frank's is the Mom and Pop (RIP Frank) food place of Mokehill. You'll see local firefighters, police, Grannies out of Church and the good ole' retired police here dining away. Locals can't just walk in and sit down without saying "Hi" to somebody. Frank's has celebrated the families joys and woes together with their customers for decades. Many businesses have come and gone from Moke Hill, but Frank's is consistent & irreplaceable in the area. I have been wanting to go here since I went to high school in the area and I finally had the opportunity with some high school buddies. We had a long day of working on a local cannabis farm and wanted to have something good but close.
