After spending a little time scouting out some machines and playing for a little bit, my daughter and I and the rest of the family decided to have Lunch at Margaret's Cafe and Bakery. And we were definitely not disappointed. The host was a young man who had the most awesome service! Very friendly and very nice. He sat us in a booth which was definitely a major plus. We didn't have to wait long for our waitress to swing by and take our order. She was just as awesome as the Host up front! She was all smiley and friendly and she dug into some of our jokes and laughed. Dad has dietary needs and our waitress was very accommodating and helpful with that. Very thankful! Okay so... food. My sister ordered French fries for my daughter, herself, and I to share. Fries perfectly crunchy and perfectly seasoned. if there was salt on them fries I sure didn't notice! I ordered The Tuna Salad Sandwich. You get a choice of fries or a salad. since we already had fries at the table I opted for the house salad with Ranch dressing. HOLY GUACAMOLE! the Ranch they serve there is THE BEST! The. Best! the size of the salad was a good size too! (woulda loved a bit more crouton bc those things were good too)! The Tuna Salad Sandwich was very tasty. I totally enjoyed the wheat bread. The tuna salad was perfectly seasoned followed by the great onion crunch within the sandwich itself. Portions are huge! I was only able to eat half of it. will I be back?! oh yes! there are other things on the menu I want to try! Review is for the bakery. After our experience with pacific grill, we decided to go to this spot in the casino for some dessert. The girl at the counter was very patience and friendly. We ordered a carrot cake, a lemon cheesecake, and a s'mores milkshake. The milkshake was good. Thick and rich. I don't take a photo of it cause my son was busy drinking it. The lemon cheesecake was pretty good. Most lemon desserts are usually good. The carrot cake was moist and tasty. I guess the desserts made up for pacific grill. Should've just eaten here for our late night hunger. Maybe next time unless the bring back the buffet. read more

Updating my review after having ice cream and then eating in the Café. This place is hard to review with all the different aspects of a casino and their bakery being separate from the Café. 1 tiny scoop of white pistachio ice cream was ok, not the best I've had but it did have a lot of pistachios in it. 5.50 is pretty steep for a tiny scoop. Maybe it depends on who scoops it or if you leave them a tip when you pay before you get your ice cream . Lily looked for that on the receipt before scooping my ice cream. I really don't like that as a primary option when you pay with a card. I normally don't tip until after my service if I am satisfied. Sugar free chocolate cake 8.00. It was dense but a little dry, nice that it wasn't too sweet and didn't taste like artificial sweetner. But 8.00...$$$ come on...ugh Steak and eggs was just OK. The meat quality was meh but the clam chowder was EXCELLENT! Better then some I've had on fisherman's wharf in Monterey. read more

We are here 2 times - they are the only place to eat anyway, until 4pm. They serve big portions and the price is great. Our service was good ( I have server backup) so I try not to run them- I ask for everything at once . Extra dressing, napkins, etc. the restaurant is cold when they 1st open, by the evening it's warmer. read more

The restaurant is inside Jackson Rancheria, and we went on a Saturday night for bingo. Although I hate smokers with a white hot passion (I have asthma), we went to Margaret's afterwards to eat. The smoke is also wafting into the restaurant because there's no closed walls. The food was decent, we all got pancakes. The service was good at first and then we had to wait for our waitress for the check. I think I'd choose Mel and Faye's diner next time with the food being about equal. Tried a new dish at Margaret's Cafe, a shrimp scampi wit rigatoni in a light sauce of some kind. This entree came in a fairly large portion. What it lacked and from what the server asked was how could it be improved? Well let's start with the pasta which was fairly starchy and lacked any sauce to take up in the rigatoni. The sauce could be improved with more broth, garlic, butter, wine, Parmesan cheese, and a dash of red pepper, juice of half a lemon, and starch to thicken sauce. Some herbs such as basil or parsley may brighten the dish. We aren't asking for a 4-5 star prep, just some flavor! I think it would be a great addition to your offerings! We tried Margaret's Cafe inside Jackson Casino. It was really good. We had the California Burger and the Margaret's Big BLT with a salad. The waitress (Cheri) was really nice and gave great customer service. I would have given 5 stars but because the location of the restaurant is inside the casino, it's hard to not smell the strong cigarette smoke. I would eat here again if I stopped by the Casino for sure. read more

Decided to stop by this little cafe after checking out the casino with a relative. We were there on a late Friday morning and they sat us immediately. The speed and service were really good in my opinion. Got their CA omelet which wasn't bad but nothing to rave about. Also found it strange that they charged $2 extra if you wanted toast with your breakfast meal. Two hours of driving from the Bay Area to the beautiful foothills of Northern California. Margaret's C&B is located in the Jackson Rancheria and is an affordable cafe with a wide range of choices. Professional albeit understaffed, the servers do their best to get your food out to you quickly and politely. Funny as you'll have to wait on weekends for a table even though there are empty tables in the cafe. Suggest hiring or staffing two more on the busy weekends! Four stars if not for the wait for an available empty table. We wanted to try their weekend seafood buffet but had to pass due to seafood allergies of some in our group. Thus cafe for today. My family really comes to Jackson Rancheria a few times a year (in the RV park). We've gone up to the casino itself a couple of times just to use the coupons that one gets when checking in. We have never been overly impressed with the food but on this occasion, we noticed that an impossible burger was a substitution on for any regular burger, so we decided to give it a try. To our surprise, our server actually said that he needed to check if any were available in the kitchen as they are very popular and often sell out. Thankfully they had two for my family. Note that this option is seemingly new and not on many of the menu pictures here on yelp. I uploaded new menu pictures with this post. The impossible burger sub. is indeed a large burger, too. I was worried that the 1/2 lb. normal burger would be a small impossible burger. It was not. I hesitated to substitute the side salad for french fries with my burger. Often that results in a small pile of iceberg lettuce and a tomato wedge. The server said that it was a good salad and indeed it was. It was quality greens with carrots, cucumber, radish, and onions. And balsamic and oil was available as a dressing. It was great. The only downside to eating here is that it is open to the casino floor which means that the cigarette smoke drifts in. It's not like a cloud, but I could smell it throughout the dinner. read more

I went in with very low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. We went on a Saturday evening and were seated quickly. We then had a very friendly and knowledgable waiter serve us. I ordered an Impossible burger and a side salad. The salad was really good, it was a spring mix with cucumber, radish, red onion, and carrots. My Impossible burger was good. The only negative was the bun, it tasted like fluffy white bread, which is to say that it didn't taste of anything really. One of my children ordered scrambled eggs with fresh fruit, bacon, and a pancake. He loved his plate. I'm not a huge fan of pancakes, but this one was very good. My other son ordered a breakfast burrito with ham. He ate it but didn't love it. He said it was huge but didn't taste like much. Overall, we were impressed. The prices were great for the quantity and quality of the food. I would return the next time we're staying there. read more

Our 2nd time here at this casino-it will be our last too, lady wasn't really too friendly, no customer service skills, salad on display salad was really nice, big salad and waitress served me wasn't really match up to display and frankly, waitress was rude and was not friendly at all. The 24 hour cafe inside the Jackson Rancheria casino. One evening I grabbed a quick scoop of ice cream for a snack. The mint chip was creamy and the right amount of mint with tons of chocolate nuggets. I passed the bakery counter on a different afternoon and coconut macaroons dipped in chocolate called to me. Perfectly moist with just a slight crispy bottom edge. And just half was snuggled in a thin blanket of dark chocolate. Big enough to make two treats out of. Sunday morning before heading home, I stopped in for a hardier breakfast for the road. Service was efficient and very friendly. My steel cut oats were steaming hot and served with a cup of brown sugar and a small pitcher of warm milk. I added a couple farm sausage patties that were delicious and a glass of orange juice. Total, wasn't even $10. The cafe offers salads, sandwiches and other blue plate specials. If you're too tired to leave the area it's a good choice. read more

Was in the area and went into the casino to check it out. Decided to try a bite to eat and chose this option (there are other places to eat in the casino). This is a basic diner style restaurant. No wait for a table even on a holiday weekend! The menu had a pretty good selection and you could order breakfast regardless of what time it was.. I decided to try the Margaret's #9 (pastrami sandwich) with fries to my surprise, the sandwich was pretty darn good! The fries were American cut (thick) which is never my first or second choice. They had been definitely sitting for awhile before being served as they were not crisp at all. They tasted OK though. Our server was attentive and nice...no problems there. I didn't plan my time well and by the time I was hungry the buffet was packed, so I thought I'd give this casino cafe a try. The place was pretty busy (probably with people like me who waited too long to get into the buffet) The waitress seemed stressed by the fast pace due to the fact it was busy, but service was ok. I had the steak sandwich with fries (8oz ribeye streak with grilled onions, mushrooms, and provolone cheese on a french roll) the steak had decent flavor, however was a little tough to be eaten as a sandwich. I tried the lemon meringue pie for dessert, and it was disappointing. Considering this place is a cafe and bakery, I expected better. It reminded me of a store bought pie in flavor and texture. Overall I might try this place for breakfast in the future, however I think I could probably do better elsewhere for dinner. read more

Friendly and attentive service. Our breakfast came out in a very timely manner and coffee refills were abundant. I loved my Deluxe California omelet ($12), filled with ground turkey, mushrooms, onions, peppers, bacon, and cheese, and topped with ripe avocado slices. I got a side of their house-made sausage patties ($4) and a cup of fruit, instead of potatoes and toast. Portion size was great and everything (yes, everything!) was delicious!!! Coffee was strong, just how I prefer. My boyfriend got steak and eggs, medium-well, but unfortunately it was overdone to well, and was too dry and chewy. He only ate half. A friend and I had a wonderful lunch Friday. The food was as expected - an omelet and a grilled cheese sandwich. The service is what really made the experience great. Leslie asked for our orders. When it was apparent that we were chatting she said, "tell you what. I'll watch and when I see you close your menus I'll come back. That way I don't have to bother you." Sure enough she cane right over when we closed our menus. Then when we wanted to keep chatting LONG after we were done eating, she offered us more water! No bum's rush. Sadly, it's our first visit and already we've experienced a lack of attentiveness... how do I mean that? Well, they didn't seat us right away even though there was no one manning the host position. We had every one of the waitresses and waiters walk right by us for the first 20 minutes then finally someone noticed us! Let's hope the service gets better...! This is for the fast food area , not the site own restaurant. This place is a Savior! They have open sitting on the left and food display in the front.. They have good selections from breakfast sandwiches and quiches to cheesecake desserts.. On a sugar budget?? Try the do out and ice cream. The serve Peets coffee ! Thank Goodness! Service- pretty good , it was fast food style, unless you decided to eat at the restaurant- entrance on the side. I ordered Peets coffee and breakfast quiche.. Total was $7.50, pretty average for a casino. Quiche- crust was great, a bit on the salty side.. But I am sal sensitive and this is a premise quiche. I adds Tabasco and it was all good from thee. We were pleasantly surprised with our lunch at Margaret's Cafe during our short visit to the Jackson Rancheria Casino. Service was friendly, although a bit slow. DH said his Reuben Sandwich was the "best ever." The light marble rye was baked in house and certainly looked delicious. Fries were okay. I had a quarter pound cheeseburger which was obviously hand formed ... not pre-made in some "meat factory." The bun was also baked in house and really stood up to the meat. It is so hard to find a bun these days that is not like a marshmallow in texture. My only complaint was that the two slices of cheese were very processed, probably Kraft. I peeled one off and regret that I did not hold the cheese. For my side, I ordered a green salad which came with sliced cucumbers, radishes, etc. I had a cup of coffee that was more than adequate. Bakery items looked tempting, but we opted out. Would certainly consider another meal at Margaret's Cafe if we ever visit the casino again. read more
