Yes, great donuts best apple. Fritters, ever great price. Don't miss out come to the best donut shop in Amador County.

Chocolate iced donut

Used to be so great but now the chocolate glazed iced donuts (my fav) are disappointing...icing is so extremely thin it's transparent! When asking why the last few times, the employee just shrugs and says "don't know".

a sandwich with ham and cheese

I went here today for the first time... in passing by the other day I saw they made sandwiches and was looking forward to trying one. I saw they made smoked salmon sandwiches on the window outside. I asked the girl for a bagel with Lox and she said looked at me confused. I said , smoked salmon? You have that right? She says , no and that she doesn't know what I'm talking about. Okayyyy...I choose turkey. Then I was like , no forget that , I came for smoked salmon I KNOW they have it. I ask again.... your window shows a picture of smoked salmon... you don't have that? Suddenly she does. She proceeds to make my sandwich, has no idea of what the ingredients are to go on it. Now I'm getting nervous. Then... I see they sell Thai tea and Thai coffee.. I order the Thai coffee... after what seems like forever she presents me with my drink. I'm in a hurry so I just pay and leave. The sandwich was good, no complaints there but my coffee was in no way, shape or form "Thai coffee" , it was watered down iced coffee. I bring it back and I see that she has cleared all the donuts out of the donut case ( they're still supposed to be open for another hour I believe) I tell the girl that what she made me is not Thai coffee. She shrugs and says , that's the way it's supposed to be. I ask her, so this is Thai coffee? She says yes. WTH?!?! I'm really irritated. You have a great concept going with being a donut shop and offering sandwiches too but you really need to have employees that know what "everything" is . I will return, because like I said... the sandwich was good. I will just have to make sure the same girl is not working.

Donuts were fresh and tasty. Not like some that have that heavy oil taste from overcooking.

We got an apple fritter, maple and chocolate donut. They just didn't have much flavor. Disappointing.

They have amazing donuts. They also have sandwiches. However they don't know if they have Google Pay. So no lunch today.

Nothing beats grabbing an iced coffee on a lovely spring afternoon…read more I was in Jackson for some errands and wanted to check out the local coffee shop. It's been on my list for a while, but every time I wanted to go, it's been closed. Be forewarned that Boilerworks closes at 3 pm daily. The cafe sits in a quiet area at the end of Main Street, so it can be somewhat easy to miss. I ordered one of their specialty drinks, dubbed The Artemus, which is a hazelnut dirty chai with caramel sauce. There were no photos on Yelp showing the current menu and prices (until now as I'm sharing a photo of the menu), so I was a bit surprised by the cost of my drink. For a small town, I wasn't expecting to pay almost $10 for my chai. Note that I'm used to higher drink prices as I have plenty of boba, but none of my boba drinks have ever cost $10, however. I took it with a grain of salt and chalked it up to supporting a local small business. The nice lady/cafe owner made my Artemus for me super quickly, as I was the only customer. Her black Lab, which was adorable, was sleeping by her desk when I walked in. Upon receiving my drink, I took a seat outside at one of the metal stools. I didn't see the bookstore featured in the Yelp photos, so next time I'll have to return to check it out. The Artemus had a good flavor and thankfully, for the price, my cup was not full of ice (like some other big chain coffee place *cough cough*). Also, the iced drinks only come in one size (20 oz). To be fair, I think the drink is worth the price as it's definitely not watered down and it's taking me a while to finish it (currently typing this review while birdwatching on our property). All in all, while the prices are a bit steep, I would still recommend Boilerworks Cafe, and it's conveniently in downtown Jackson right off the 49.

Their new little nook is so quaint, love the room across the way for puzzles, books and gathering. The owners are always so nice. I like to avoid the chain coffee spots where I can and Boilerworks is my first stop before strolling Main St.

A Pleasant Surprise with a Small-Town Feel…read more This one caught me off guard--in a good way. I was out with my family practicing for my daughter's driving test at the DMV up the street. We pulled up Yelp to find a good lunch spot, saw the solid reviews, and decided to give it a try. When we walked in, the atmosphere had that small-town vibe--simple, welcoming, and comfortable. The food was very good. The service wasn't polished like a Michelin star restaurant, but it didn't need to be. It was authentic and heartfelt, and sometimes that matters more. You could tell the staff cared about what they were doing. The place was busy, especially for the time of day we went, which tells you something. People come here on purpose. That says a lot. We were seated quickly, our order was taken without any issues, and the food came out in a reasonable time. When it hit the table, the portions were generous and satisfying. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was too busy enjoying the moment. If you go, post your photos--I'm sure the business would appreciate it. If you've followed my reviews, you know I don't give out 4 stars often, and 5 stars are rare. This place earned that extra star because of how it made me feel--between the food, the atmosphere, and the service, it just worked. If I'm ever back in the area, I'm definitely coming back for another meal.

The menu was extensive; I wished I had a bigger stomach to order more. After placing our order, the waitress offered us a complimentary soup. It was so yummy. You could hear our spoon scraping the bottom of the bowls. We started with chicken samosa. The order came with 2 large crispy, flaky, and delicious fried treats. The stuffing was well spiced. Remember that Ratatouille scene with the critic's flash back? This samosa did that for me. It transported me to my good friend's home where her aunties were in the kitchen making these pockets of culture and traditions. Highly recommend! I ordered the chicken biriani. It was flavorful. The rice was fluffy. The spice level was on target (I ordered mine medium heat). My daughter ordered the chicken curry. She loved it. She kept saying "This is yummy" the whole time. My husband ordered the lamb curry spice level spicy. It cleared his sinus headache :) apart from it being spicy it was also very tasty. We also ordered garlic naan: garlicky and fluffy. So, if you happen to be passing through, I suggest swinging by. If you happen to live close enough to make your way to Taste of Himalaya, I suggest get in your car and try this place. The drive will be worth it. I think the locals know what a gem of a place they have right in their backyard. I saw several to go orders while we were there. TLDR: Service: 5 stars Food: 5 stars

They offer a huge variety of flavorful veggie and meat dishes. Their saag paneer, veggie korma, butter chicken, and naan continue to be our faves. Tip: They bake the naan fresh after you've placed your order. You may want to wait 5-10 minutes before heading to the buffet. Otherwise, the naan arrives after you've finished your first plate.
