My son ordered donuts here, where the nice lady asked what next, sweetie, after each one. I had the glazed raised donut the first day, then chocolate cake the next morning. They were both so fresh and soft. I was surprised how soft it was the next day. I expected a little bit of staleness so was pleasantly surprised. We'll return to try different flavors. read more

I only have a picture of one out of the 5 items we got because we scarfed them down before I could get a picture. The donuts were the best donuts I've ever had! The breakfast sandwiches wow they do not skimp on the meat. They have a ton of yummy drink options inside. We live out of town but will be back to try everything else on the menu. read more

Perfection. Light fluffy sweet goodness in one bite! Makes you have to have another bite.The glaze donut round is so light it's like bitting into a cloud of sweetness. The maple round hand more of a denseness to it. But it's a denseness that you need to hold up a nice layer of maple, making this a damn near perfect donut. All in my opinion. These are some of the best donuts I have had I a very long time. The maple flavor doesn't taste fake, the donut itself isn't greasy or oily in any way. Visited this donut shop twice to buy donuts for a church class. It has delicious, light, fluffy and not too sweet donuts. Customer service is very good and the shop is spotlessly clean. I usually don't like donuts as all the ones that I have tried have been too dense, oily and overly sweet. Star Donuts has changed my mind and it is my go to shop for donuts. I have had a standing order here for years. Their donuts had been consistently delicious. However, in the last 3 months it has been very inconsistent with sometimes the worst donuts I've and ever had. They were flat and doughy. I mentioned it to the person in charge there and she said they were training someone new, so that is understandable, but it continued to happen over 2 months. When I complained again, my standing order was cancelled. It felt like it was retribution for daring to complain - rather than an attempt to rectify the problem. Sometimes their donuts will be great - sometimes a lot less so. If you're up for a gamble try them out. read more

I've had a real sweet tooth, as of late, and ESPECIALLY for donuts. Yesterday was National Dessert Day and I figured, what better way to celebrate than grabbing a sweet bite after lunch? I've been to a few donut shops in town, but never Star Donuts, which is the highest rate at donut shop. I'd heard and read good things, so I figured yesterday was as good a time as any to check them out. When I arrived, no one was in there besides the lady working behind the counter, so service was FAST! She was friendly and gave me time to look over their selection before I finally decided on a vanilla frosted cake donut with Halloween colored sprinkles (obvious first choice) and a coconut yeast donut. The total came to $1.90, which was a pretty solid deal, and I left within just about a minute of coming in. I devoured my Halloween donut immediately, which was still fresh, airy, delicious, and light enough that I didn't feel TOO guilty for indulging myself. The coconut yeast donut was bought for reference; I wanted to see how Star Donuts pulled off both styles of donut. Unfortunately, I wasn't strong enough to hold off on that donut, and I ate that around an hour later. Also delicious. Also completely worth it. The selection was minimal, in my opinion, but the donuts they had were well done. I arrived towards the end of their opening hours on Sunday, which perhaps isn't the best time to reference their donut selection, anyway. Needless to say, I will be back, and I look forward to visiting closer to opening next time for the best experience possible. read more

Stopped in this morning. Two customers ahead of me, who had small orders. A decent selection, had exactly what I wanted. The ladies behind the counter were very friendly and efficient, the donuts were excellent, and the prices decent. The shop is spotless and neat. Perhaps most important, there is a "mask required" sign on the door and inside. Staff and customers were masked. There are plexiglass screens above the counter, and there is hand sanitizer. This store is doing their part to keep their customers and staff safe during COVID. I told them I thought it is great how they are managing. They told me some harrowing stories about freaked out no-maskers coming in, trying to trash the store, and yelling obscenities. They are aware that some segments of the Lodi populace just don't get it. What a shame. Keep up the good work on the COVID front, and keep making great donuts! read more

We live in San Jose and stop to get donuts every time we are in town, sometimes more than once. They are delicious, light and airy.
