Came in today to buy my son donuts from his favorite donut shop. Walked in with a very verbal, disrespectful customer voicing his opinion about the place to the owner. He wants to share his thoughts and tell people not to come to this location. I do not know what their disagreement was about. Second day in a row I was in this area and once again, another donut shop was nearby. After my good experience with a different shop down the street (see other review) yesterday, my tastebuds were still firing. So in I went for a donut. This place too is located in a strip mall so there's plenty of parking. There's are several tables inside and there were several customers inside enjoying a cup of coffee and a donut...but I suspect they may have been personal friends of the owners or staff. Some of the other reviews I've read warn about watching what you end up getting charged. I again ordered a raspberry filled donut (dusted). The menu board says $1.50 but I was charged $1.92...42 cents difference! Don't be fooled by the business supplied photos which are obviously old...because they show 90 cents for a single donut. Additionally, this donut was a bit smaller in size than average and quite a bit smaller than the one I got yesterday from their competitor down the street. I doubt I'll ever get a donut from here again...unethical business practice don't suit me well. read more

So warning everyone, if you happen to want to get some donuts here in the evening and see them cleaning up inside then DONT BUY!! The donuts were out in the open on a tall tray and the worker was mopping with a pinesol type cleaning product (it did smell strong when I stepped in) and I bought a dozen of donuts and went home to share them with my family but as soon as we had bitten into them, they had a horrible pinesol taste. We went on to tasting all the donuts thinking it might have been the ones that were just on the lower rack but they were all affected with the horrible pinesol taste. There went $18 down the garbage. I called Star Donuts around 8:30pm asking if they were still open and a really kind women answered the phone and said they were. I took off to grab some donuts and ended up buying 2 dozen. Let me start by saying that I love donuts. One time I had a serious craving for donuts and I ate a whole dozen to the face. I didn't eat donuts for about a month after that splurge, but it was worth it. As for Star Donuts, I must say that they are buttery, sweet, and fluffy. Along with a hot coffee, they will melt in your mouth and you will instantly reach into the box for more. If I had that same exact craving I had in the past I would probably eat 2 dozen Star Donuts. Tidbit: Interestingly, Star Donuts does not have the signature pink box that almost every other donut shop has. They use a white box??? This sort of bugs me because I constantly get asked what is in the box. Sometimes I say it's pizza or a cheesecake.
