Additional charge for using a credit card, they have a sign in front of the register that goes unnoticed if you're not looking, and they don't verbally remind you themselves of the upcharge. Paid $2.43 on my card for an apple fritter, not sure of the exact upcharge amount. APPLE FRITTER REVIEW: Great size, as big as my face! Crispy exterior, nice crunch and not too sweet which I appreciated. Had a good cinnamon flavor but not a lot of apples, unless they were chopped very small so I could barely tell there were even any inside. No obvious apple flavor either, which is fine with me since I don't like apple pie and this fritter tasted more like a glazed donut with a slight cinnamon flavor. The inside was soft and fluffy. Overall I would get an apple fritter from here again! Service was great. I'd come back. read more

I went in about 3 o'clock and they were pretty much all out of donuts. The good thing is that I really wanted an apple fritter which they did have. It was really good. It had a nice soft and crispy. Taste of apples. The attendance was really nice. Is located in a small strip mall with plenty of parking. You really have to look for the sign to find it. It's pretty small inside, like your mom and Pop shop. They had a special of a dozen donuts for $12 at 3 PM. It may be a hit or miss considering they were out this day. read more

My husband wanted to try this place and I asked for a cream filled donut. When he got home he handed me a small bag with a bar donut. I was thinking, oh great babe buy me a stale bar. I bit into it and it was heavenly. It was so soft and delicious I was literally shocked. We were both impressed with our doughnuts and will continue to visit. I've been on a big donut kick lately, and if I'm in an area I don't frequent and pass by a donut shop, it's pretty likely that I'll stop in - which is exactly what I did when I passed by a strip mall off of Thornton and noticed the giant sign that said "Donut" on their marquee. It was like the universe was sending me a sign that I needed to go get donuts. I walked up to a shop fronted by an older gentleman, who was taking a break, but promptly followed me inside to get me what I needed. Donut Appetit had the basics: yeast donuts, cake donuts, maple glazed, apple fritters, etc. What caught my eye was the vanilla glazed donut with Halloween colored sprinkles. I'm big on sprinkles. And aesthetics. And Halloween. It was a no brainer for me. I paid the man behind the counter, who I'm pretty sure was the owner, and he in turn, gave me some money and asked me to go next door and pick out a Mega Millions Quick Pick. If he won, he said, we'd split it. It just reached $1 billion that day, and it seemed like a good deal to me, so I picked one up and brought it back to him. Our numbers weren't winners, but it was fun to get involved in the hype! As for the donut: fresh, and worth the price. Typically what you'd expected out of a vanilla sprinkle donut. I took a pic, ate it in the car, and was on my way. It was exactly the post lunch dessert I wanted, and the lotto ticket part made for a fun story. Not sure I'll be back this way anytime soon, but maybe I'll have to make the trek next time the lotto gets up to a billion again. You know, for good luck. read more

Hands down the BEST glazed donuts around! I got one around 6:45am and it was still warm. You haven't lived until you've had a fresh, warm glazed donut! Chocolate croissant wasn't my favorite and the iced coffee wasn't for me but those glazed and old fashioned donuts still get this place 5 stars from me. read more

The old man that runs this donut shop is the nicest business owner ever. He's always chatting up his customers, giving away free donuts, or just beaming a smile. My family and I come to this shop not just because it's the closest shop to our home but honestly because the taste is fantastic here and the customer service can't be beat compared to every other donut shop in the area. Donuts here are fresh and not too sweet or tasteless. The dough is always fluffy and the icing on the donuts are perfect. Other places taste kind of fake and leave a waxy texture coating the roof of your mouth but these donuts are always great. I've never had a bad one here. Honestly the best donut shop in Stockton. The shop is a little older but it's always clean. I'm not sure what happened to the other reviewer who said it was dirty but as a clean freak, I've never felt grossed out here. I manage Valley Gaming and Billiards. Of the choices that Stockton has for Donut shops goes, I'm glad that it's Donut Appetit here in the Thornton Plaza shopping center with me. They are so friendly and always have a good selection. They have cocoa and other coffee drinks which help me wake up in the morning when needed. They also serve some ham and egg sandwiches in the morning until I think 11:00 am. My usual is either a cinnamon roll or a chocolate bar with custard. I don't eat donut's elsewhere or else I think I'd feel like I was cheating on Donut Appetit....lol read more

Donut appetite may just be one of the MANY "average" donut shops out there; however, I'm always on the look out for hidden treasures especially in a place such as Stockton. This establishment carries the usual donut selection but offered the CINNAMON CRUNCH donut which I have not found elsewhere in town... Customer service is always pleasant and the environment is welcoming. Seating area isn't huge but adequate to accommodate a nice meeting for coffee & donuts :) read more

This place is so cute and so tiny. I wish this store had more customers! While my aunt owns Tender Donuts (endless access to donuts....), I came here while waiting for my boyfriend to get a haircut. It's a pretty good variety of donuts in a small showcase. I got their donut holes and they are so. Freaking. Good. I didn't try anything else! There's a .50 fee for using your card (I'm assuming under $5?). Very sweet old man behind the counter, looked very happy to see me because he's not busy. It's a very clean store! Very friendly man working, I called first to ask what time they closed, he said they're still open and to come. When I went I noticed the shop should've been closed almost an hour ago, and realized he kept it open for me. I ended up buying a whole bunch of donuts and since it was towards the end of the day he threw in a few extra donut holes. Will def support local shops. Well, I probably would have rated this higher if I could have actually gotten any donuts. Apparently, on May 31, 2016 at 7am they were already out of donuts when I got there. So I just went to Safeway where I knew they would have some donuts. I got a better price for good donuts at Safeway. And, they actually had not sold every donut in the store before 7am. Maybe I will try donut appetit again sometime... I guess I have to be there pretty early.... it won't be for a bit. read more

Wow! Yummy! Fluffy! Soft clouds of heaven! I have never had a blueberry donut as good as this one. So soft and warm inside with just a bit of glazed crunch on the outside And then I bit into the raised crumble and I couldn't believe how great the texture was. Almost like a warm bit of pudding. Thought I'd venture out from my usual donut shop, but I was pretty disappointed. There wasn't much to choose from when we got there at 8 am, which I'm not complaining about. We chose a maple bar, a chocolate bar, a chocolate old fashioned and a few donut holes. The old fashioned was good, but the bars and holes were SO greasy. Even my kids (who eat anything) couldn't stomach much of the bars. I really expected to give a higher review, based on a recent recommendation, but sadly 2 stars is all I can offer. Delicious donuts! Surprisingly good selection considering I went later in the day around 1-2PM on a weekday. They ran out of the custard fills so he took a few to the back to fill them up for me! Excellent service and a good price. Only thing that was questionable was that I saw him outside coughing and then he went back into the store and didn't wash his hands before serving me donuts. read more

I've been coming here since I was young so I can't complain..I mean it isn't donut royalty but if you're looking for something sweet, you can go to them for a cheap treat ; ) The little cambodian guy that works in there is short and friendly. And ohhh, how I love their maple bar donuts...though I just can't seem to understand why the donut holes are always stale by 1 pm.. They know if they get new faces in there they can get mite rent or lease money, but you know that isn't always good business. People like myself rely on the old places being there. This donut shop was very convenient to me on my way to the freeway and I loved bringing my grandchildren there for Saturday treats. I usually let them get whatever they want and it doesn't cost. Dry much even if I get something. The donut shop passed the freeway is a different story--two donuts and a drink is $8.00 just for one person. Who can afford that for donuts!!! I will miss the couple from the business and will have to go to the other donut shop on Hammer Lane on my way to the freeway. They have good donuts too, but aren't always convenient for me. I have to inform my family that this place is leaving. My little brother who is now grown & on his own lives in Sacramento now but will be sad to hear that this donut shop will be leaving because this is the only donut shop he knows about. My older brother .& his wife go to one close to their home now, but he too was a faithful customer and when I tell him he will be shocked!!! I don't care for the donut shop they go to, the person behind the counter is so nonchalant and doesn't seem interested in anyone and one time I bought a cup of coffee and it was empty and I went to the other coffee canister and the coffee was cold, but I had to get it because I had already paid for it.
