Stopped in to kill some time while my vehicle was having work done across the street. Located amongst the strip mall, there's nothing extravagant about the outside appearance of this donut shop. It's a small place few just a few small tables inside. Being small, the selection case is also a bit limited. But that's not to imply that there were just a few different donuts to choose from...there was a good selection. I love a good, filled donut and went with a classic raspberry filled donut (dusted). Now most of the donuts were of pretty standard size. But my raspberry filled was the biggest I've ever had! I wonder if these are how they make them here or did I just happen to catch a good day. I was in this place and my wife and I noticed that the staff member sat down down to take a break pulled her shoe off rubbed her foot and then got up to serve customers without washing her hands or putting serving gloves on that's not very sanitary if you ask me, we felt disgusted. Contacted them to supply 12 dozen donut holes for my graduation party and they were a hit! They were the first to go on my dessert table. So soft and fluffy! Meh... it's okay, but it has problems. The people are nice and the place is moderately clean, and their doughnuts are decent, so they're not terrible. But man, there's several issues for them to overcome. First off, their Thai Tea is horrible! Barely any cream, the tea itself tastes awful, and when I tasted mine, it actually made me a little sick. Maybe I just had a bad batch, but... blech! I also had their ham and cheese croissant, which had a single slice of ham and American cheese, and when I ordered it hot, it came to me luke-warm. Maybe people like that, but not me. And finally, I got their open-face jelly doughnut, which was okay, but... sigh... okay, if you're going to package an open-face jelly doughnut to go, you put it into a box or at least on the bottom of a fairly large bag by itself, right? They put it into a tiny bag on its side, which dumped half the filling out into the bag and smeared it all over the side of the bag. The filling wasn't jelly, either... it was some sort of flavored gel, which was kind of like eating thick slime. The rest of the doughnut was pretty good, though, so maybe I just need to stay away from the jelly doughnuts. It could be that I just ordered all the wrong things and I just had a bad first-time experience. But I don't think I'll be going back. It was just not a good experience at all. read more

Excellent name for a donut shop. They practice what they preach. Tender Donuts has always been my go to donut shop here in Stockton. Waking up early and going to this place to pick up the freshest donut before heading off for the day to run my errands. A small donut shop placed right next to your good ole "Eddie's Pizza." I've been coming back to Tender donuts for years and their donuts have always been consistently made. Never too sweet (from chocolate to maple to glazed) and never tough to bite on. Always go as early as possible to get the freshest batch they have to offer and a fresh cup of Joe with it. or at least before the Stockton PD gets there. The service has always been pristine. swift and on time, especially when you order multiple boxes of donuts to go. I prefer this place over the Krispy Kreme located across the street simply because every time I have one of their donuts, I get this tingling sensation coming from my teeth and gums telling me I'm about to have a sugar overload and will be paying for it later at the Dentist office. Tender Donut has that balance and the classic-made donut I've grown up to enjoy. Aside from that, I'd rather support my local small mom and pop shops over any typical chain restaurant like Krispy Kreme. This is the place. Best Donuts in Stockton. Hands down. read more

This place does have fresh good donuts, when you can get them. They make all donuts fresh daily with some sitting around far longer than others. The issue here is they seem to play favorites. When they speak with a "favorite" you can't understand the words spoken. It is however very clear what was said. The lady behind the counter will put donuts back into the case and select ones behind the glass closer to the customer. When it is your turn they place the "picked over" donuts into your bag or box. Should you say something you are told they are "fresh" and "made today". Still looking for a place where everyone is a favorite. read more
