Amazing! I was in Lodi for work and decided to come here to pick up treats for my colleagues. They absolutely loved them so I had to try a treat for myself. Needless to say I went back at the end of my day and took a dozen donuts back home with me cause they were so delicious! Kind people and the kindest service. Also, shoutout to Dora for making my day! read more

We live in San Jose and stop to get donuts every time we are in town, sometimes more than once. They are delicious, light and airy. My husband is a traditionalist and gets glazed, my daughter and I love the maple bacon bar, and our son opts for donut holes. I should also mention I don't like donuts but will eat theirs. The owners are sweethearts. Stop in and support a local family owned business. read more

Delicious! Best apple fritter I've ever had! I'll definitely be back. They were also very cordial and had great customer service.

Really good shop! The ladies there do a great job and have compassionate hearts! Highly recommend it.

I love this doughnut shop. It keeps it classic. This place is usually busy in the mornings when it gets closer to the end of the week. The family that owns this shop has been here for years. I honestly don't think another doughnut shop could compete with this shop. The family has such a good relationship with many people in town. read more

When we first started going there two years ago, the doughnuts were really good. Now they're not getting the oil hot enough so it's leaving the doughnuts full of oil and somewhat undone. This has been our experience the last four times that we've gone there. We will not be returning anytime soon. read more

Just a basic donut shop. Not greasy but nothing special. Super friendly people, but the donuts really are just so so. Would do 3 star if the ladies weren't so nice in there to me. read more

Best donuts in town. We are about to head there now. Old fashioned maple is my go to.

This is my first time here at star Donuts in Lodi. I would have to say I've had so much better donuts than this. Donuts are small and stale. I wouldn't go back they are always limited and unprepared. read more

Every time I've gone here, I've had a good experience. the wait was OK sometimes. long but it's worth it for delicious donuts

This place has the best donuts in town. My seven year old loves their donut holes, which go pretty fast so I recommend calling ahead of time if holes are your go to. I have tried all with the exception of their filled donuts and can't find one bad thing to say about them. The bread part of the donut is light and airy unlike the dry thick greasy donuts I had tried pretty much everywhere else before coming here. The prices have gone up a little this year but it is still worth it for the quality you're getting. read more

The best donuts in town. I try to get there early to get some donut holes but they usually sell them fast. They melt in your mouth. I also love their chocolate glazed. I can eat two! Their rasberrry filled glazed are very yummy. Love this place. All of the donuts here are amazing! You won't be disappointed. read more

Nothing special about this place. Read about the good reviews. Went in got three donuts. Glazed, chocolate and coconut one. I am out of town and was looking for breakfast. The donut was ok. Had better. Not going to come to this place anymore because I could get better else where. read more

The best apple fritters in town. Most of the gas stations in town get their donuts from star so you can grab a donut after hours. It seems as though Star opens whenever they feel like it though, i've drove by a few times and they were closed when they were supposed to be open read more

Horrible service and donuts are so-so. Don't recommend. I recommend any other place. Good riddens.

To be honest, I'm not a donut fanatic or big giver of 5 star ratings, but this place deserves it & my sick father requested some-- so of course I had to check out the place with the best rating. The lady was super nice as I waited for me to help my father figure out how to open his text messages for 45 minutes & offered to put cream filling in the one of choice since they ran out of chocolate bars. In the end I had to come back later for his order after I had paid for mine, but by the time I got back they didn't have much left & she gave me his order on the house (as I'm sure I looked like I was going insane, as he's a terminal cancer patient). If that doesn't deserve a 5 star rating, I don't know what does. Last, but not least, as a non-donut freak I absolutely loved their donuts too! Would totally come back for more ! read more

I am not a huge donut fan, but I absolutely love Star Donuts. They are always so fresh and taste like rings from heaven I also appreciate their willingness to quickly make a filled donut if they are out by the time we get there. They are also super easy to work with. I needed donuts for a baby shower I was throwing for my sister and simply called in to place a larger order. I had to leave a message, and never heard anything back, so decided to call the night before to verify that they received it. Sure enough, they had it and told me they would be ready at the time I needed them. We picked up our order and the donuts were fresh and delicious, as usual. I have worked with a lot of people while planning different events, and they are, by far, the easiest I've ever worked with. We have tried other donut shops in the area, and not a single one compares to Star Donuts. read more

My favorite donuts in Lodi. So yummy!! The donuts melt in your mouth. The staff is sweet. Love coming here!

I come here weekly and they argue with me when they mess up my order instead of fixing it. I don't expect them to remember the order, but I just feel like when I catch the error and bring it up we should just be able to fix it and move forward with our days, not argue like teenagers. read more

Tried this place for the first time today. I took the wife and son for Doughnuts and what a gem this place is. First the place is super clean, second and more importantly the Doughnuts are made fresh daily and you can tell. The wife had a maple bar, the kid had his usual sprinkles, myself I had the old fashioned chocolate and a apple fritter. Everyone loved the Doughnuts they were fantastic, but the apple fritter was amazing probably the best apple fritter I've ever had. The ladies running the place were just as sweet as the Doughnuts, so friendly and talkative simply loved this place and experience. I highly recommend you try them if you haven't already. read more

This is the place that my employers constantly bring in boxes of donuts from as treats. I was craving maple bars and decided to head that way after a night of insomnia. I met a friend there who was also dealing with a sleepless night, and was craving a donut. I got there a few minutes before they officially opened, but the Open sign was on and the employees were busily bringing out racks of donuts and putting them on display. It smelled divine inside. Not all of the products are available right at opening: I was told the bars (maple and chocolate) wouldn't be ready for another 40 minutes. I ordered two maple donuts, as they were just coming up from the back area. I grabbed myself a bottle of milk from the fridge near the register; my friend ordered a coffee and they asked her if she wanted room for cream (she did). They have several different bottles of creamer in the little fridge. Donuts were warm, fluffy and delicious. I slowly nibbled them while we sat in the dining area and chatted. Watched people come in, order donuts, get quickly served and left. Finally, the bars came out. I ordered two maple and one chocolate to go, so I could eat them later. I barely made it in the house when the first maple bar was consumed. Sugary perfection! read more

I visited Star Donuts for the first time today! I just moved to Lodi and heard good things about this shop. I got there at 6 when they just opened. I wanted two dozen donuts. When I went in, I noticed there wasn't many donuts out yet! I asked them when they would have all the donuts out, they said on 45 to 50 minutes! Not a good way to service your customers! When you say you open at 6, you should have all your donuts out for purchase! I went to another local donut shop, and was very pleased! I will be letting people know that my first and only visit to Star Donuts was terrible!!! read more

I guess there aren't any great Donut places in Lodi. They're all just AVERAGE, at best. Star Donuts has been in Lodi for seven years, and is owned by an Asian family. Are all Donut places owned by Asians in the Central Valley? It seems so... What I had today... Ran out of both Sugar and Glazed Donuts... surprising! Coconut encrusted Glazed Donut (*** $0.75) A pretty fresh Donut, but the most expensive of all the Donut places in Lodi for a "Plain-Jane" Donut. Filled Maple Bar (** 1/2 $0.95 + $0.25 for filling) The Donut place with the most variety of Fillings... Lemon, Custard, and Raspberry. The counter person tried as hard as he could to fill the Maple Bar... but after I got it... it looked liked it had been "fondled" a lot. You have to teach your people how to "gently" fill the bars without it looking like it had been "messed with" (attempt at humor...). large Coffee (** 1/2 $1.50) When did Farmer's Coffee begin advertising itself as a "Premium" Coffee. Pretty expensive compared to everyone else in Lodi. Ca$h preferred, because if you want to use plastic it'll cost you $1.00 more. I met an interesting person today while consuming Donuts at Star... A woman about my age who was a former Principal of a Lodi Elementary School, who had to resign her position, after just two years, because of an Aneurysm (weakening and rupturing of Arteries in her brain). The Aneurysm caused a loss of memory of four years and short-term memory loss currently in her present physical state. The short-term memory loss is severe enough where she has to write down events on the palm of her hand that she had to do and have done during the day. A very courageous person, because she still has a son just beginning High School. After she told me about her memory loss, I recounted to her the similarity of her situation with the Australian film "Memento" ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0209144/ ) with Guy Pierce... The counter person, who overheard our conversation, said "50 First Dates" ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0343660/ ) with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore! She noticed my Bicycle and recounted her Cycling when she was in college. She Biked from West Virginia to Pueblo, Colorado during the Bicentennial Year of the United States (1976). Alright! When I left Star Donuts, the counter-person asked me how I liked the Donuts... he looked saddened when I told him Star Donuts was just a little below Village Donuts both in freshness and in price. But, we kept on conversing about restaurants in the Central Valley... I thought I was the only person that liked Emerald Restaurant ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/emerald-restaurant-stockton ) on Hunter Street in Stockton... He also liked Nena's ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/nenas-restaurant-stockton-2#hrid:TzgwpurVzjbotZeStcdhNQ ) in Stockton, but thought Casa Flores (many locations) was just a tad better... We both agreed on El Rancho ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/el-rancho-inn-steak-and-lobster-house-stockton ) as a great Steak House... And we both agreed that Pho Lucky ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/pho-lucky-noodle-house-stockton ) was the best Pho place, but he also liked Pho Saigon Bay ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/pho-saigon-bay-stockton ). His girlfriend didn't think very much of Mitapheap ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/mitapheap-restaurant-stockton ) in Stockton, she recommended Angkor ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/angkor-restaurant-stockton ) for Cambodian Cuisine. Ranking of Donut places in Lodi after two weeks of Sugar consumption... 1) Anyplace other than Lodi... 2) Village Donut (http://www.yelp.com/biz/village-donut-lodi ***) 3) Star Donuts (this review) 4) Go to Stockton... read more

Best in Lodi (hence the word Lodi) Since there are limited places in Lodi, I must say these donuts are wonderful. The only problem is that they were not all pretty and fluffy. They were sunken and the frosting was all messed up but the taste was spectacular. They aren't all that friendly either, but oh well... I got to eat a great donut. read more

Always a line to the door in the AM. Best APple fritter in the area. They have a cook in the back that you never see cause he is chained to the donut machine working to keep up with the crowds. The best in Lodi. Period. read more

The donuts here are so Good, inexpensive, melt in your mouth, I love them warm. The staffs are very friendly. I think these donuts are way better than dunkin' or krispy kreme, give it a try read more

Best donuts in Lodi. Need to know more? Alright, fine. I'm not a fan of their filling; I like cream-filled donuts, not pudding-filled donuts. My favorite is the chocolate-chip covered ones. Nice apple fritters. Even so, not the best donuts out there by any means. Also a little bit overpriced, in my very honest, professional, realistic, humble opinion. read more

I am not normally a fan of donuts.. But...man oh man are Star donuts amazing! When a vendor brought these to my work recently, there were a few of my favorite kinds in the box so I decided to calorically splurge and try them. Buttermilk bar - one of my all-time faves when I do eat donuts - Star Donuts does them RIGHT! Soft and fluffy on the inside with amazing flavor. The old-fashioned was also so well-done. All the donuts from Star Donuts that I tried left no nasty greasy coating in my mouth or lingering bad aftertaste as I have experienced from other donut places in the past. If and when I do crave donuts, I would go out of my way to get them from here and that is saying a lot since usually donuts don't do much for me. Try Star Donuts and taste for yourselves why they are the best in the area! PS I normally don't give 5 stars, either, so you know that I really back the quality of these donuts! read more

This is the best donut place I have ever been to. Coming from a former Krispy Kreme loyalist who swore nothing could beat this, this blew them out of the park. I have now converted from just a glazed donut person to a maple donut. Their cinnamon crumb donut here is phenomenal too! Everything i try I love! And you cant beat the price! Less than a dollar a donut for amazing flavor read more

The best donuts in Lodi ! They are fluffy and have a different taste than any donut shop ! Hella good !

Best donuts in town. Perfect, fluffy pillows of deliciousness.

I called after hours but their recording said if I wanted to place an order I could leave a message. I needed donuts for a birthday party so I left my order and my phone number. I called an hour before my requested pick up time and they hadn't even listened to their mesages. So disappointed. Fortunately I was able to find my donuts at another shop in town. Won't be back read more

Doughnuts are good, however the time they closed is different from what yelp says. They close at 5 it says on their door.

We found Star Doughnuts on our recent trip through town and we are so glad we did. The raised glazed doughnuts are amazing! We have never had doughnuts that are so light and fluffy, don't have that oil taste and aren't too sweet. We tried others kinds, but the simple raised glazed were our favorite. We will definitely stop in again when we are in town. read more

We stopped in here since we have visited other Star Donut shops. Totally disappointed. The cinnamon roll was tiny and flat as a pancake. The maple old fashion bar was half the size of other places. Would not recommend and we won't stop here again. read more
