Since there were so many negative reviews revolving around customer service, my curiously got the better of me and I was determined to make a stop at this donut place the next time I was near the area. Service wasn't terrible; the person working provided adequate customer service. However, the donuts were not good. I haven't had too many donuts I disliked in my life, but this place had them. Maybe it's because I went in a late afternoon, but everything I had (in the half dozen l ordered) tasted like it was at least a day old. Probably won't come back to this donut shop in Galt when the options are so plentiful in Elk Grove, but it's nice to know it wasn't the service that was awful here (in my case). read more

They are located by the Taco Bell in the strip mall. They have a lot of items other than just donuts. They include fresh juices, Boba, smoothies, coffees, and sandwiches. They have your general donuts like chocolate glaze, old-fashioned, apple, fritters, and croissants. There's seating to enjoy your donut or lunch. The donuts are pretty solid. They are good! The service is pretty prompt when ordering but she does multi task in between. read more

I'm honestly surprised the reviews for this place are so low! I stopped by and got a sandwich and a strawberry lemonade with popping boba, both were really good. The sandwich was fresh, flavorful, and made just how I wanted. The lady working there was super nice and helpful when I asked for jalapeños, and she made sure everything came out right. The drink was refreshing, not too sweet, and the popping boba added a fun touch. Everything tasted great, the service was friendly, and I left happy and full. I'm surprised the reviews of this place aren't higher! The cake donuts were my favorite, which were airy, fluffy, and so soft. I'm used to them dense and heavy. My friend offered a piece of her cinnamon roll donut. It was also surprisingly soft and tender, not dense. I don't know what they're doing differently here, but we loved it! I'm guessing more butter or shortening. We started with half a dozen to bring home and share. Changed my mind after a few bites and made it a dozen! I went today and asked if she had old fashioned donuts because there were none in the window and she said yes in 10 minutes, so I waited and came back. I was served something that was clearly not an old fashioned maple; I would have preferred if she was honest and said it wasn't ready or said they were out of them, instead of making me wait then charging me full price for something that wasn't up to par. Pleasant donut shop with a moderate variety of donuts. Cake donuts taste almost like a brioche -- it's an unusual texture but enjoyable. These are delicate donuts (soft to the edges) and very nicely done. In late afternoon, donuts still tasted non-stale. It's the first place I've seen to do the maple-bacon donut in a cake donut. Worst service I've experienced at a donut shop. The lady that's there EVERY DAY clearly hates her job. She's there alone in the mornings and can't keep up so takes her frustration out on customers. She wants you to tell her what you want in 1-2 seconds or clearly become agitated to the point she's throwing your sh*t around. Full name is Fancy Donuts & Boba and they're great! Had both boba and donuts delivered to me for my birthday from a friend and they were both wonderful! Loved the quality of the donuts and the fun flavors of the boba. Nephew very impressed with popping bubbles in the watermelon one and I, a hater of flavored bobas, loved the mango boba! Thank Frank! Donuts were so fluffy and light. I hesitate to call them yeasty, lest someone misunderstand, but they are super airy and feel so deliciously made. I have been in this "Donut" shop several times and the selection of donuts is always sparce to say the least but today I went in at 9:30 am and they litterally had 2 trays of donuts available. I just turned around and walked out. I don't see how you can call yourself a donut shop when you never have a normal assortment of donuts like most every other donut shop. Came here on a whim to pick up a few donuts. I walked in and no one was behind the service counter. I glanced at some prospective donuts after a few minutes someone came to assist. I placed my order, they were tossed into a bag. Went to counter to pay as I'm holding $5 bill in my hand waiting for the total the lady reaches over the counter for the $5 bill and pulls it out of my hands. I was in shock but managed to ask "what's the total?" Radio silence. I look on the cash register to see a total of $1.75- she then asks "is that all?" At this point I wanted to snatch my $5 back BUT I chose to be the bigger person and reply "yep." I took my purchase and change and left. I will NEVER return. Well, with a name like Fancy Donuts, you would expect such, right? I guess there are some donuts that could be regarded as fancy with their array of sprinkles or added bacon bits but that's as fancy as it gets. But who cares about the name, what about the donuts, right? Right. I have been visiting Fancy Donuts (Store 2) since it opened some years ago and this is what I have come to discover about the store. It is ran by a wife and husband team where each takes a shift. They are very nice and helpful. I love supporting small businesses so it's always been a delight for me to stop in. What isn't delightful is coming in after 10 a.m. or so and finding a very limited selection. I understand the financial aspect of making more donuts with a slim sale return later in the day so I try not to make a big deal of it. If you search for donuts elsewhere in town, you get about the same results...some much worse than Fancy Donuts. I just wished they would stretch out the more popular offerings more. I love a large variety of donuts and if I arrive early enough (I've even been the first person of the day at 5:00 a.m. a couple of times!) the selection is wonderful. I've loaded up on maple bars, chocolate donuts, old fashion, jelly filled, sprinkles, apple fritters, sugar, and some others. I would say the apple fritters are the best that I've had of the selection. The exterior is crunch and the interior soft and filled with apples. It is a very good fritter. The rest of the batch, you know, donuts, well, they're alright. Sadly, the custard filled donuts generally have little custard in them and the jelly filled have been hit and miss as well. The maple and chocolate flavors are fine but nothing special. The donut interior itself is different than what I'm use to. It is light and fluffy but the flavor is just, just, different. I can't describe it but it is not your typical donut taste. Now don't get me wrong, it's not bad; hence, why I keep coming back, but honestly, the Walmart down the street has better tasting donuts. Even Raley's, though it suffers with poor selection even early in the morning. I don't know, it's just different. I really want to love Fancy Donuts but I just can't. It's ho-hum. It is a nice mom and pop establishment that has a fine selection early in the morning. You know, everyone has different preferences in taste so you may enjoy these donuts more than me. Go give it a try. You may be surprised...or not. :) read more

Every time we are in town I always have to stop and order a boba smoothie, I love boba but had to stop drinking it years ago because I cant have caffeine, found this place spur of the moment leaving the Tractor Supply Store and casually strolled in as it was hot and needed something cool to drink, I fell in love with the Honey Dew Melon Boba Smoothie! Great donuts and a decent selection for a really fair price. I especially appreciated that the guy who helped us put my daughters' donut in separate bags, allowing them to each have their own. If I were rating only the donuts, I would give them three stars. They are nothing to write home about, but they are passable. I am giving the two star review because of the very poor service. The girl running the counter has such a heavy accent that I can hardly understand her. And when I asked for a cup so that I could give my little boy water, she told me that I could buy bottled water, but she would not give me a cup to put tapwater into. We went to this place because their donuts are delicious. Upon arrival, i ordered an espresso and my wife ordered a water, and a soda. They said the soda was $1.75 and the water was $1. We ordered both the water and the soda. They gave us a soda and said they never charged for water. When asked about the receipt, they said they threw it away. They charged for the water and never gave it to us. They charged us for the soda and added 50 additional cents for no reason. The espresso was a sugary drink and when i asked to clarify, she lied and said yes it was what I ordered but it was not. Please be careful and watch you account when buying from this place or just use cash and ask for your receipt immediately. I have been going to marks donut store for more than ten plus years on the other side of Galt. When Mark opened his second store on the other side of town mark was still in the store with good customer service. The last couple times I've been to the new store by the tractor store marks wife has been in there. One day she walked away from me after giving me my donut left cash register DOOR WIDE OPEN.
