This place is fine. Cooks Station up the road is a fraction of the cost and you get a lot more food for your buck. The chicken sandwich would be better on sourdough with some buffalo sauce or something with a kick as it was a little bland. Hardly consider these to be garlic fries...The Cinnamon Roll tasted like a piece of white bread and the frosting didn't offer much flavor. 2 mimosas here is $28, I could get the same amount of champagne at Cook's for $7. (1/4 price). Overall, the quality was OK. 4 stars for effort and I want to see pioneer thrive. I'm not interested in coming back if they don't adjust their prices.

Great food! Excellent service! Upcountry cute/historic decor. We'll definitely be back! Need to try more of their menu since they have a Michelin star Chef cooking there!

    Omelet, potatoes, biscuits & gravy

Went in with high expectations. Very disappointed. Only 3 ahead of us waiting for food. After 35-40 minutes we got ours. Omlet warm, potatoes cold, biscuits & gravy cold and hard. Server was pleasant and did discount our bill. Would have preferred hot food and fresh biscuits.

Biscuits and gravy is a 10! Service is a 10! Meat lovers omelette is delicious with plenty of meat! Orange juice was fresh and coffee was good. Staff was very friendly! We showed up at 8am and it was pretty quiet. Met the owner Johnny, very nice and friendly! Wish them much success

What an incredible first visit to Taste in Plymouth!…read more The restaurant itself is cozy, beautiful, and has such a welcoming atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Our server, Bessie, was absolutely amazing, kind, funny, and so helpful in answering all of our questions during our first visit. Now, onto the food! The appetizers alone could have been a meal. The Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever had, and as a girlie who doesn't usually love soup, I have to say the corn soup my husband ordered was delicious bursting with flavor and perfectly creamy. My husband chose the burger with truffle fries, and they absolutely nailed it. The bacon jam, arugula, goat cheese aioli... every bite was incredible, and the fries were amazing. I had the steak with scalloped potatoes and carrots, and as someone who typically likes her meat well done, I can honestly say this steak was excellent. Dessert was mouthwatering and packed with flavor. The pricing was also very reasonable for the quality of food and exceptional service we received. We visited on Saturday, the day before Father's Day and two days before my birthday. Not only did they personalize my dessert with a birthday message, but they also surprised me with a birthday card signed by the team. Then, just five days later, a handwritten thank-you card and birthday wishes arrived at my home. That is the kind of service that leaves a lasting impression. Thank you, Taste, for such a memorable first experience. We will absolutely be back!

If you enjoy fine dining, you must try this place in Plymouth, California…read more When you walk in, it is quite busy and loud in the main section of the building, but seating for dinner is in a room behind that and as much quieter. Service was impeccable. For dinner, you can choose a three course or five course meal. We chose the three course which includes one small plate, one large plate, and dessert... We also added the wine pairing. The mushroom cigar was to die for. I ordered halibut for my main course. It was cooked to perfection. The hint of tarragon in the vegetables was delicious and the risotto ball was excellent. I always order Affogato. Unfortunately I forgot to order decaf. It is currently 12:30 AM and I am still awake, but it was so worth it.

They kept them coming once we asked, and they were delicious every time. But we had to keep asking, and at one point, we almost gave up. That said, the service was pretty underwhelming, especially since the restaurant wasn't busy. We waited close to 20 minutes before getting our first drinks, even water. We had noted a special occasion on our reservation, but there wasn't really anything that made it feel acknowledged or special. We shared the skillet, and unfortunately it was extremely soggy. We literally poured liquid out of it multiple times. On the flip side, the lemon poppyseed waffle was a solid 10/10 and definitely the standout food item for us. I'm giving 3 stars because there's clearly potential here. The drinks were great, the waffle was amazing, and I do think this place could easily be a 5-star experience with more attentive service and a little more consistency in the kitchen. We'll definitely give it another try.

But how could I know that experience (and the service!! OMG the service!!!) was going to be so outstanding, that I would come back again the next evening to eat again?? The first night it was happy hour, with a spicy jalapeño mule, buffalo cauliflower, smoked Brussel sprouts, and a couple of beers. But the service was so attentive (almost too attentive) that we felt like we had to watch for gaps so we could take a bite or a sip in between folks checking in to see if we needed more food, more refills, or just a friendly hello! The next night was burgers, and brews, and bloody Marys - and again, the most amazing thoughtful, interactive and attentive service I have ever seen! And being a business owner, I can tell you that it's not enough to have a beautiful setting on the river with great views and a decent menu. Having servers, managers, bartenders (hell even the bussers had smiles and were polite and friendly) absolutely seals the deal. I really have no reason to go back to to El Dorado Hills in the near future other than work, but because of this single restaurant experience, I can tell you I am trying to find more reasons to return!

Also - have the busboys check wine glasses before putting them out. We had 2 really nasty ones on our table when we sat down. It can happen but so preventable.

It was really cute and quaint, the ambiance gave me historic vibes and I loved it!! We sat inside cuz of how cold it was outside. I ordered 2 drinks for myself, the chips (so amazing with the sauce/dip) and the grilled cheese sandwich (not too shabby). There wasn't many options for food but found that they keep it very limited due to the hours of operation. So that cleared it up. What I found very interesting was that we had to order at the bar for our food and drinks. Even though there was a server and a bartender, so I found it very odd. But they did bring our food and drinks to us so that was nice! For all of the things I ordered it came out to like $43. To me, a bit steep for just myself only but what can I expect haha.
