On a weekend getaway trip, we had to stop for a family stretch, grocery store run, and meal. To our surprise, Strings Italian Cafe delivered and was incredibly solid through and through. I want to say many of the Strings locations have closed throughout the Bay Area, but this specific location in Jackson was such a nice experience. From the moment we walked in, the service was great ~ we ordered from the kids meal almost immediately, and they brought out a sippy cup and high chair within minutes. We ordered our entrees ~ I went with the Cheese Stuffed Shells and my husband the Spaghetti with hearty meat sauce and meatballs. We had yummy warm bread and olive oil/vinegar delivered to the table, and each entree came with a café salad or minestrone soup..so of course we went with both. The meal was fresh, comforting, and everything we needed and wanted for a quick stop to rest our bones for a nice meal on the road. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inviting interior, reasonably priced, and we even tried Amador Brewing beers, local to the area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To note, you can substitute gluten free pasta for an additional price. Extensive menu (including pizzas) for a little bit of something for everyone. Located in a shopping center, plenty of parking..would def come back when we're in town next year for our annual trip!

I went in to eat here for the first time today. I went a little after lunch time, I was seated quickly, my order was taken fairly quickly, and I did not have to wait long for my food. While the salad was a little bland (I feel like a little bit more dressing would have helped), the pizza was delicious, and the complimentary bread was really good. My server, Alyssa, was very friendly and attentive. It looked like they were the only one working the room but they made sure to stop and chat to anybody who wanted to talk. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were about two to three other table fulls of people there, but the chatting was quiet, and I really loved the music playing. It was just low classical covers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I heard several well-known songs just classically played. "Wake Me up when September ends" "Zombie" "I want it that Way" "What's Up" and "Madworld" were the ones I recognized. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but I loved it. I spent around the same amount I would have at another spot nearby but I got more food, and leftovers. So this is definitely going to be my before work lunch spot now.

Dipping sauce and bread were the star of the experience.

Service was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant seemed clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Salad was not very tasty just super bland. When my Chicken Marsala arrived it looked delicious. However the meat was inedible and extremely chewy. The zucchini on the plate seemed like the flash coocooked in the pan for 30 second. The spaghetti was decent on the plate However my appetite was long gone. Left hungry and frustrated. Atleast the removed my entree from the bill. Not a great eexperience at all.

Beef Tortellini Alla Panna and Ravioli

The food AND service was incredible! From the bread, artichoke appetizer, Cesar salad, minestrone, to the entree of beef tortellini and squash ravioli.. every single thing we had some delicious! Also, Alyssa, was an OUTSTANDING waitress. So kind, patient, and made sure we were aware of extra charge for flavored lemonade. I've NEVER had a server care enough to inform before. I will be asking for her to wait on us every time. Can't wait to go back but I have so many leftovers

Food was really good and service was really good. Only one waitress serving 10 tables and got things done fast and didn't forget anything we asked for. Super cutely decorated for Halloween. Very clean inside. Great place

The reviews made it a quick decision to head over to Teresa's Place! As soon as we entered, the staff placed us in a quiet area that made me feel "at home". Servers explained the menu and specials promptly. Warm fresh bread was a perfect starter since we had just enjoyed wine tasting. We ordered the lasagna and chicken D'Aglio. I chose a pesto sauce for my pasta. Their entrees as filling, as these come with minestrone soup, bread, and salad. I couldn't get enough of the croutons, dressing, and garbanzo beans with the fresh, crisp salad! When you're here, make sure to walk around inside to admire the decor and read their family's rich history, including photos with the Pope St. John Paul II. I enjoyed reading a bit of Italy geography and history on the dining table place mat too! This is a big restaurant with plenty of tables, especially ideal for bigger parties like family gatherings. There's so much to see and enjoy while you wait for your food! When I boxed up my leftovers, one of the staff came to me and helped me scrape the creamy, garlic and olive oil sauce from the chicken dish and scrape the pesto from the bottom of the pasta dish into my to-go box. This is the type of personal service I love and appreciate from family-owned restaurants! I'm glad we came across this lovely restaurant with wonderful staff and authentic, delicious Italian food!

I was stranded, hungry, gut gnawing itself in some Dantean ring of small-town purgatory, when out of the fluorescent chaos of a Raley's supermarket, a Gen Z angel with Wi-Fi wings took pity on me. Her phone pulsed like the North Star and she pointed me down to salvation: Teresa's Place. By God, I arrived. The sun was bleeding out across the horizon, Main Street slipping into shadow, and there it was: a glowing sign like a neon Eucharist. Parking lot across the street. The doorway pulled me in like a vacuum cleaner from 1952. Inside: dim red tones, white lights surgical and holy, Brooklyn noir under an Amador County sky. Louie's Restaurant vibes--but Sollozzo ain't getting shot here, sweetheart. No: this is Jackson. This is love. The service? Think grandma with a cigarette in one hand and a stopwatch in the other--warm but brisk, like they've been running this joint since Prohibition and ain't about to let you slow them down. The Chianti comes in buckets. Jaegermeister on the dessert menu--yes, they're serious, yes, you're taking the shot, yes, Jesus himself approves. Now, the food. THE FOOD. It comes in cathedral portions, a medieval banquet dropped in your lap. My chicken parm? Christ Almighty, it was Everest under a landslide of marinara, parsley fresh as a spring fling, pasta al dente enough to play a banjo tune. Before that came minestrone, a salad with Thousand Island like some glorious church picnic of yesteryear, croutons snapping like gunfire. Bread and butter so fresh you want to slap someone. Then dessert: WALNUT PIE. Who makes walnut pie? Teresa's does. Whipped cream piled like the Alps. I licked the plate like a lunatic. Let's be clear: this is no bland Chili's with soul vacuum décor. This is a time machine, a love letter, a belly hug from the Old Country. Cozy, romantic, small-town crickets outside and Sinatra crooning in your bloodstream. And the kicker? The wall of dollars. A shrine of American greenbacks pinned with a tiny Italian flag, Grandma Teresa watching from the photo frame like a saint with marinara rosary beads. Each bill matched, money funneled to five local charities. You eat, you drink, you laugh, you sin, and you walk away knowing your gluttony just saved the world--or at least a piece of Amador County. Five out of five, no hesitation, no irony. Teresa's Place is the real deal, a mad holy Italian fever dream in a town you didn't even know existed. If North Beach has the flash, Jackson has the soul.

I found myself there for lunch one afternoon after about blowing all my cash at the slots. I had nothing to left in my pockets, except for some lint, an old paper clip, and my well used American Express card. Defeated, I called it quits and put a fried chicken sandwich and some tots on the plastic. After a chat with a friendly cashier, my food arrived in a few short minutes. Boy was I impressed! I didn't hit any jackpots at the slots, but I did with their tots! They gave me a mountain of those crispy, golden-brown, little nuggets. Each one was perfectly cooked and they came with plenty of ranch for dipping. The chicken sandwich was just as crispy, juicy in the middle, and full of fresh produce. The whole thing was only $13.00, so I couldn't be happier. Well, my pockets were empty, but my belly was full. Pacific Grill, you made me feel like a winner.

The food is pretty good, but can be mayo heavy with lack of creativity aka lemon slices in sushi(wt?) Negative part- the three times we'd been there in the last two months we have noticed a change for the worse. Recently- While sitting at the bar the old chef (maybe new owner?) slams things around angrily and cusses at staff, on one occasion almost two months ago we watched him raise his fist up as if he was wanting to strike a team member. As a customer I'm am in shock this is something that is normal(?) here now and I want everyone to know this before going in trying to enjoy a meal and all you get is an uncomfortable mediocre meal. Needless to say we just bring sushi in with us on our way into town instead of visiting this spot while at our vacation home. SHAME ON OKO for harboring such a toxic chef or whatever he is... if he's the owner he should just step back because working with other people or customers clearly ain't his thing. The last few chefs always smiled and greeted us... gonna miss it.

A proper sear adds flavor, but actual char is bitter and completely overpowers the Marsala wine and mushrooms. Large areas of burnt crust aren't just a cosmetic issue--they ruin the dish and should be replaced, not served to a customer. What made it even more disappointing was that I was expecting a fine dining experience. Instead, I've honestly received better food quality and service at much more casual restaurants. Everyone else at my table enjoyed their meals, so unfortunately I seem to have been the exception, but that doesn't make it acceptable. I left feeling frustrated and confused as to how this plate ever made it out of the kitchen. Thank you for your response. I understand restaurants appreciate the opportunity to correct issues while customers are still there. My concern wasn't that the chicken had "grill marks" or that I didn't understand what Chicken Marsala is. The sauce and mushrooms covered the chicken, so I didn't realize how badly it was burnt until I had already taken several bites. Once I moved the sauce aside, I found it was charred to the point that it tasted burnt and was inedible, which is why I left the meal exactly as shown in my photo. I left because I was disappointed, not because I wanted to leave a negative review. Calling me a "keyboard warrior" instead of addressing the condition of the food or why it even came out of the kitchen in that condition in the first place only reinforces why I felt compelled to share my experience at your establishment.
