If I could give zero stars I would, my mom and a friend of ours. We were up in Jackson filming a commercial for the casino. We stopped in here to grab a bite to eat. It is a very small restaurant. Unfortunately, the sandwiches were no longer being prepared. We asked about them. She proceeded to tell us that it had been that way for years and we said oh we're sorry we're not from here and she just kind of gave us a dirty look we decided to order an appetizer, and then she very rudely asked us if we would be purchasing anything else and we all said no we're okay. She takes our menus from us proceeds to go into the kitchen slamming a dish around and then proceeds to talk to the other waitress with what seems to be about us, seeing as they were both staring at us giving us dirty, looks horrible service rude people would never come back and would never recommend. read more

First let me say I love Italian food. I came here with friends for dinner after coming to town to look over some property they purchased. This is a small place in a strip mall and don't plan to bring a crowd, but we did have 7 in our party. We did call ahead though. I ordered the lasagna with clam chowder and tiramisu for dessert. The Lasagna was literally the creamiest and and crazy tasty. It literally melted in my mouth. I can't remember ever having a lasagna do this. It was amazing. The clam chowder was perfect and fresh. The tiramisu was made fresh and I can't remember the last time I had one this good. I would give more stars if possible. I highly recommend if you are in the area, stop in and enjoy one of the best Italian eatery's outside of Italy I have eaten in. read more

First time coming to this restaurant and lemme tell you, AMAZING! I came with my coworkers for lunch. We sat outside and we loved how they had seating inside and outside. We took a look at the menu and I knew What I wanted. I was craving some ravioli and it states on the menu that all the pasta and ravioli was homemade.. TRUE! With the ravioli it came with either soup or salad and bread. I got the minestrone soup and it was so yummy and perfect portion for me to start with! The ravioli was seriously amazing! So much flavor in every single bite. I cleaned my plate and I loved it. It was in perfect portion for me to eat and be full. Saluti's is a charming Italian take-out or sit down restaurant tucked behind a Auto Clinic right on the highway. It's right before the Raley's turnoff so don't miss it (directly across from Holiday Inn)! There is ample parking and if you go behind the restaurant there is additional parking where you can find shade! We were seated promptly amidst ~10 2-top tables and a couple 4-tops. If you're not hungry when you walk in, you will be after the aroma of baked Italian finds you! Here's our review of the food: Vanilla Italian Cream Soda: 10 - Slightly sweet but a perfect blend of vanilla, cream, and soda. This is yummy! Meatballs: 7 - Small but tender meatball with herbs but lacking in spices. The dish is covered with sauce and cheese so ensure you have ample bread nearby. The sauce was VERY salty so bread helped to balance it out. Probably best to have this over spaghetti versus an appetizer. Garlic Bread: 9 - Soft and buttery bread with a perfect blend of parsley, garlic and cheese with a perfect crust. The dipping meat sauce was VERY salty so I liked it best without any sauce. Have the water handy! Basil Cream Chicken: 8 - Comes with a soup or salad & garlic bread or focaccia. The salad was on a small plate but it included salami and cheese amidst a bed of mixed greens and a tasty Italian dressing. The focaccia bread was thick and tender, but was a bit too dry. They will need to use lots more olive oil next time. The chicken breast was a little thin and dry needing a knife to cut through it. The penne pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce had a touch of a cheese taste amidst the flavors of garlic and basil. Nice dish This family run business has been open for four months and is off to a very good start. We had more than enough food for a couple at just over $40. With a solid menu and tasty cuisine, they will certainly stay the premiere lunch spot in Jackson. If only they hadn't use so much salt upon my visit... read more

The food was excellent but......the waitress was exceptionally stressed and rude...kept sighing and mumbling under her breath about being too busy, rushed, overworked etc. She didn't take my order for quite awhile and left before I had finished, called across the way if I wanted onions...It was beyond uncomfortable. What a hidden treasure! Saluti's is one of the best Italian restaurants we've ever eaten at. Don't be fooled by its humble location. When you enter through their doors, you'll be overtaken by the most aromatic smelled of Italian food. one local customer said that "everything on the menu is excellent"! The meals we ordered were chicken Marsala, chicken with basil cream pasta, Italian sausage pasta dinner, and the salmon with polenta; desserts-tiramisu and vanilla bean cheesecake with a caramel drizzle....all excellent! Saluti's is a family run restaurant whose customer service is second to none. They are genuinely concerned about each customer and you can feel their sense of pride. I was born and raised here but moved away when I was a bit younger. I visit often because my family still lives in the area. I feel like this is just what Jackson needed! Family owned by two hard working individuals. They do it all! The food is superb! The service is good! And the decor is so cute. Let's not forget the desserts! Yumm! This place is a solid 4.5 star! I was glad to see another Italian restaurant while visiting because our last trip here we went to the other Italian place and had a less than great experience. This place is small but we only had to wait around 15 minutes for a table. It is decorated cute. Our server, which I think was one of the owners, was wonderful. My daughter got the ravioli and said it was very good. Sauce was great. My husband loved his sausage pasta but it was very spicy. He enjoyed it so much because he loves spices but someone else might think it's too spicy. Not sure if the description indicated it was spicy My mom and I got the lasagna. It was what I was craving. Now being 100% Italian I've had plenty of lasagna. While this lasagna was very good, I've had better. I think what could have improved it is if it was firmer. When we would take our fork to cut, it would lose its shape... this is the reason we took half a star off. HOWEVER, we did enjoy our dinner very much and this place is definitely worth a try! The other owner, the chef, came by and welcomed us and asked how our dinner was. I love that hospitality! We finished our meal by all splitting a cheesecake. This place is INSANELY GOOD. They put a lot of effort into every dish and they all taste really delicious. The service is top tier as well. Very fast, attentive and friendly. Kudos to Danny/Manny? did a great job. Had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and sausage pasta. Both amazing. The sauce for the sausage pasta was very inspired and combined multiple flavors magnificently. Savoury, Creamy, Spicy he perfectly balanced them, it was an experience you only get at a select few restaurants, mostly high-end. The chef is really good. Staff is attentive, not overly in your business but checking in and following up; the husband and wife both work there so it's cute to see them interact. Food was delicious and desserts were yummy! Went in to eat, they were busy and we were super excited because we had heard good things. The waiting area overlooks the kitchen. I watched the cook reach into his pants, scratch his "leg" and then touch the garlic bread he was plating for a customer. No gloves, nothing. He then used the same hand to wipe his nose and grab a plate to plate the food. I looked at my husband and was like "nope, that's okay, we can go." Not sure if he was the owner, but he was also yelling at the waitresses, and he even made a snarky comment about her sitting us outside in the cold or something like that. Very , disappointed by the fact that it was cold outside and we requested 2 different tables but we're told that they were reserved, there was no reserved signs on those tables. We were offered a small table that was in the middle of the restaurant, which was right in line with the cold air. When we decided that the table wasn't working for us. We told the waitress that we were leaving, she said ok bye. She didn't seem bothered by the fact that we were leaving. We felt that she was rude and we will not return anytime soon.... read more

My wife and I visit the Gold Country every year for our anniversary. We used to go to Crusco's in Angels Camp but they closed unfortunately. So last year we had to search for a new Italian restaurant. Staying in Jackson, we googled Italian Restaurants in our area and Saluti's came up. Oh, and I'm gluten intolerant, which makes it a bit difficult. So we found Saluti's and went there for our first time last Summer. And we LOVED it. I was very happy with the gluten free options and loved what I ordered. My wife loved her dish as well, along with the desert. We look forward to traveling the 49 every year, and now we have another reason to come. We will definitely be spending at least one meal there during our visit. read more

We will not return. Service was amazing, both the server and busser/dishwash ladies were so great. The food was even great. The ambiance that the server was working so hard to maintain was unfortunately overshadowed and ruined for us by the constant complaining, rude remarks and poor treatment of staff by the chef/owner. My absolute favorite part about this restaurant is the amazing smell as soon as you walk in and the fact that the owners were the ones cooking and serving. Everyone at our table ordered the raviolis and they were amazing, well priced, and came out so fast. Every plate was consistent and flavorful. Finally Amador county has a good local Italian spot. They also have a great selection of local wines. Definitely worth the stop if you're passing through the county or just a local looking for a new spot. read more

Your chef was visibly angry and yelling and you think I'd want to ask for something to be remade? That is exactly what I'm saying, all other times the service was great but now it seems this place is going downhill. I was born and raised in Jackson, I go there once a month from Sacramento to visit my son & family. When he told me about this great restaurant he made it sound amazing... he was right! The food is delicious! From the Bruschetta to the variety of pasta's always great. The spinach mushroom ravioli is the best ravioli i've ever had. This place was such a disappointment. We had heard good things, but the experience was a fail from start to finish. It started with the cook who decided to loudly express his political opinions to the entire restaurant. Politics are so contentious and something one wants to not think about while dining. This caused another patron to also express his opinion loudly. No one cares. Our garlic bread appetizer was burned all around the edges. I had a salad, which was fine, but the rest of my party had pasta. Only one person finished their food. It was too salty and the Alfredo sauce was more like country gravy than true Alfredo. We had already decided that we wouldn't be back by the time that we got the bill. The bill had a $7 charge and when I asked what it was for the woman that worked there said it was a charge for using a credit card. The bill was already almost $200. I'm so sick of getting nickled and dimed to death everywhere we go. There was no mention of this before we used the card. She told us if we paid cash then, there would be no charge. Sounds like someone wants to evade taxes to me. We won't be going back. read more
