    Dinner at the Rind

I LOVE the rind, it's such a special spot. Their grilled cheese, their mac and cheese, their delicious burrata appetizer, the wine selection, all of it! BUT have you also heard of their CHEESE CLUB?! it's like a wine club, but for cheese. We signed up two months ago and I've been so impressed with the selection and quality of the cheeses and accoutrement! I should've taken a photo of it before we started demolishing it as it was very pretty too!

We were looking for a happy hour spot in midtown and stumbled upon The Rind. It was 4pm and me and my bestie were seated by the charming Tammy(Tami). The place is small but well designed. The Food!! We had the burrata plate that was phenomenal, along with the Mac and cheese and Brussel sprouts, all recommended by our server. Plus a glass of bubbly rose that was the best I've ever tasted. It was a fantastic experience. I was surprised it wasn't packed for happy hour! I would come back here again.

Showed up on a Sunday evening with a friend. It was peaceful and relaxing inside. We were helped immediately. The worker was very friendly and helped us to pick cheeses that would go well with our drinks. She clearly knows her regulars and works hard to cultivate an environment where folks feel comfortable. Despite being a wine and cheese bar, it is unpretentious and welcoming to those who are less knowledgeable. I will definitely be back!

One of Mid-Towns best stops. They have a good variety of wines and cheeses along with some tasty food. There's both indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate a party of 6....maybe 7. I'd call the interior comfort-modern while the exterior is modern. The servers do a great job of helping you select cheese, wine and wine pairings to make your experience perfect. T-Brie-D - 10 - One if the best grilled cheese sandwiches you'll ever have Not yo Mom's Mac - 9 Cheese Board: lightly candied walnuts and almonds, raspberry jam, honey, grapes, peppers and toastettes on a board. Brillat Sovereign 9 -- a firmer and milkier version of Brie Midnight Moon - 8 - a very mild hard goat cheese Lambchopper - 10 - a less salty cheese with Parmesan notes If you have a hankering for wine and cheese for your date, don't hesitate to come here!!!

Such a great afternoon was spent here with my girls!! The wine bar is quaint, excellent for date night or friendly gatherings. The food and wine were delicious, the Mac and cheese was I would definitely drive back the two hours to experience this great spot again. The service was slow but quite possibly the vibe. Don't go if you are in a rush, you could easily spend an entire rainy Sunday afternoon there and I am all for it!!!

Love the Rind! I've been here a couple times with friends now and had a great experience every time. The staff is super friendly and service is always quick and attentive. The ambiance is great. It's very cozy and welcoming inside. The food is delicious. We had cheesy potato's and buffalo blue cauliflower! Both were absolutely delicious. I would absolutely recommend coming by for some wine and bites.

Still the best Mac n cheese in midtown. Such great flavors from the Mac n cheese. Not sure what else to say. It's not a huge portion but is absolutely delicious.

A cute little place that I've been wanting to try for ages because I love cheese and wine! We got the T-Brie D grilled cheese and the Not Your Dads Mac And Cheese. The Mac and Cheese was very tasty. The T-Brie D was excellent. It was crispy and also soft, salty, a little sweet, creamy. The bread was well buttered and it was quite filling. Basically what humans love - Salt, sugar and fat! It was one of the best sandwiches I've had in my life. It's been a week and I keep thinking about this sandwich and telling my friends to try it. The two of us also got a glass of wine each. Due to the richness of the two dishes we were very full afterwards. The dishes are pricey, but worth it for the food quality.

One of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I have had! I went with the Twisted Classic, my girlfriend went with the T-Brie-D. We shared a side of the Not Your Dad's Mac & Cheese. Although this restaurant is on the pricier side, it is still worth checking out as they have a good wine selection, a wide variety of delicious cheese dishes, and some charcuterie boards available. Staff at The Rind were patient with us and explained things thoroughly. Overall, it was a great experience and would recommend to any cheese lovers in the area.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I went around 5:30 or 6 on a Saturday evening and the place was pretty empty, but by the time I left, it was really filling up. The inside is relatively small, but it's adorable. As soon as you walk in, it smells like melted cheese (a.k.a, delicious). The service was great, and their creative takes on grilled cheese and mac and cheese are very fun. Their charcuterie looked great, but it was just me, so I didn't order any. I had a French onion mac and cheese with beef. It was excellent! I strongly recommend if you're in the area.

I passed by this cute cheese and wine bar on my way back from the farmers market and thought it's so cute. So the next day I stopped by. The place is cheese focused and you can see the wall of cheese selections (nice!!). I sat at the bar where I can see the cheese action. The cheese expert Tammy curates cheeses based on the wine you order which is so cool to watch. For my drink, the staff recommend a Pinot Grigio cuz it's a hot day and I wanted something refreshing. His recommendation is spot on. Based on my white wine. Cheese expert curated for me a cheese plate with three cheeses, crostinis, fruit, nuts and fruit puree. The three cheese are: Bermuda Triangle: soft cheese with a little good funk Pecorino: hard cheese with intense savory and goes well with sweet accompaniment Coco Gouda: semi soft cheese (I think?) that very interestingly really got coconut flavor so cool. Service is fantastic. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly and incredibly patient. I'm still very much new to cheese so cheese expert Tammy went into great detail to introduce the cheeses and their characteristics. I definitely wanna come back and try more things!

Wow! Love this place! Love this concept! Who doesn't love gourmet cheese! Really great ambiance. The cheese assortment is off the chart! We asked our server (who was so nice, knowledgeable and attentive!) and she gave us great cheese recommendations. The cheese can be purchased separately as well which is great to know you can just stop in a grab some! They serve wine and beer only...great wine! Looking around at the other tables to spy on other orders...every cheese tray looked delicious! I look forward to going back!

This hidden gem offers an experience that's unlike anything else in the city. The setup is simple but charming: you literally walk up to a window and order your wine. I believe it's one ring for white, two for red, and three or four for sparkling--don't quote me on that, but it adds a playful, old-world vibe that makes the whole experience memorable. The Wine Window is affordable, laid-back, and surprisingly quaint. It's the kind of place where the ambiance, the people, and the energy make it feel more like an experience within an experience--not just a drink stop. I had the chance to chat with John, the owner, who shared a bit of the backstory. He previously owned a full wine room nearby, but when the pandemic hit, he had to pivot. Instead of calling it quits, he leaned into a smaller, more intimate concept inspired by wine windows in Europe. Honestly, I think the scale makes it even better. The outdoor patio is perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine while people-watching on L Street, and yes, there's even a restroom available (a rare but very appreciated amenity for this type of setup). If you find yourself downtown, do yourself a favor--swing by The Wine Window, have a chat with John, and enjoy a unique Sacramento experience.
