Fries with Yogurt & Chili Oil
Sally L.

Stumbled on Field-n-Flame looking for dinner on a work trip. First off, this restaurant is beautiful. The interior design is lux with a mix of modern. They have a great looking bar, and Jake made a fantastic expresso martini with Turkish coffee. Smooth and clean flavors. Loved it. I got their House-made Papperdelle and boy was it delicious. Nice thick noodles with shredded short-ribs mixed in. I was still a little hungry and ordered the side of fries with yogurt and chili oil, something different but something yummy! The owner is a background of Greek and Turkish. He was so kind to let me try their in house made Turkish coffee which I never tried before. So hospitable of him, thank you cause I enjoyed it. Plenty of indoor seating and customer service here is top tier. I really enjoyed my dinner very much so. Would definitely come back and recommend coming here. Thank you Firuz (owner)

New happy hour late Friday and Saturday with great food and drinks, wonderful night cap spot

One of our favorite places to pop in for a cocktail whenever we're in Sacramento, this time we got the pleasant surprise of an extended late night happy hour.

We went for a friend's birthday on January 3rd 2026 around 7:00 p.m.. The restaurant was not too busy as that day there was a bit of rain in the Sacramento area. Coming into the restaurant it was very intimate the lights were low but the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. We were greeted by the host and then quickly greeted again by the server that was going to help us during our meal. We had a nice big comfy table near the entrance that could see outside through the big window. Since it was our first time there the server gave us her favorite suggestions and all the pictures that I posted with this or will be purchased based on that recommendation. We were exceedingly happy because since we were celebrating a birthday we brought our own cake and they were very gracious enough to take the cake we brought and put it in the back so it could stay cold until we needed it. In addition they even went as far as cutting the cake for us so we could have it served to the birthday boy. The food items we did were the fries with sauce, beef skewers, meatballs, grilled octopus, Mac and cheese, and the zucchini croquettes. Hands down everyone loved the mac and cheese followed by the beast skewers. Both of those had amazing flavor especially the mac and cheese it was not overly decadent but very comforting. The skewers we're perfectly cooked and had a nice char on the outside of them. The one thing that we would call out is both the croquettes and the grilled octopus the octopus could have been a little bit more charred on the grill so it had a nice little crunch to it. Similar to the Croquettes they were soft on the inside which is nice but felt a little too soft on the outside not soggy but again it just needed that crunch to give the nice bite to it. We did order a few drinks going to be honest I cannot remember what they were because I only took one picture of them my bad. But overall no one had any complaints. We actually ended up ordering a second round of drinks and people copied each other to try other things. Overall the experience was very nice, food was good definitely want to try out other dishes there, and the service was unbelievably gracious and amazing.

Half Rack of Lamb Fire-Grilled with Chimichurri - lamb had a lot of fat
Joyce L.

3.5 stars I waited after soft opening to come. The ambiance is great. However, food is okay. The half rack of lamb has a lot of fat, otherwise flavoring was good. Magpies lamb is still my fave. My friend got a Caesar salad and added chicken. Her chicken was dry and didn't finish it. Drink Turkish martini was solid, I know I like my drinks sweeter - so I told the bartender that. Tip if you want to sit in the dining area - you must have reservation. Even though... there were a lot of seatings. So we went to the bar.

Just had such an amazing experience at this restaurant! Everything from the service, the ambiance and especially the food. The staff were so friendly. We had the soup of the day (a delicious vegetable soup), the steak, Pardell's (absolutely delicious). It is also beautifully decorated.

This place has a very nice, chill ambience. The restaurant has low lighting and good setting for date night or catching up with friends. We ordered the filet mignon skewers and shrimp. Definitely recommend the filet skewers. For our main meal we ordered sea bass and rack of lamb. They were both delicious options. For dessert we got the pistachio tiramisu. Not too sweet, no coffee taste, but soft cake. The service was fast and friendly

Field-n-Flame is such a vibe! Recommended by friends to celebrate my besties birthday, we walked into FNF and instantly got lower Manhattan vibes. The low, moody lights, warm earth tones and open floor plan was the perfect ambiance for the celebration. Jack greeted me almost immediately and sat me at a table. Once the others arrived, a man quietly swooped in with umbrella bags as if on queue. He passed our table a few more times asking if we needed anything. We would later learn the subtle man was the humble owner, Firuz. I had asked Jack for his favorites and the besties and I began with the mushroom soup. I'm so sad it's not a regular on the menu..talk about absolutely incredible omg! We kept raving about the soup and asked Firuz to please thank the chef. Firuz one upped us and brought Chef T to our table to we could thank her ourselves! Literally the best mushroom soup I've ever had and checked all three boxes (taste, temperature, texture). One guest ordered the Caesar salad and the house made Caesar dressing is to die for! As an entree I ordered the pork chop (thought I snapped a pic...sorry folks!) with brussels with crispy polenta. Delicious! We shared desserts (cheesecake and pistachio tiramisu) with Turkish coffee. FNF is the perfect spot for date night, a chill happy hour with the girls or a small celebration. Jack, Chef T, Firuz, we will see you again!

My family and I made dinner reservations here through Resy for 5 people. The place is next to a Marriott hotel in Midtown and parking was limited on the street so we opted for a parking lot around the corner. Going inside, the little lobby area before you get seated is a little tight but we got seated to our table fairly quick. The lighting inside is kinda dimmed so it was kinda hard for my parents to look over the menu. The menu had a good variety of options of both food and drinks. For food, we ordered the NY Steak, Filet Mignon Skewers, Grilled Pork Chop, Ouzo-Flamed Shrimp, Fried Calamari, and a side of Fries. For drinks, we ordered hot tea, Rosemary Lavender Lemonade, Kybele's Wish, and the Raspberry Lemon Drop. All our dishes were well-portioned and definitely fulfilled our appetites. My order was the Filet Mignon Skewers and the server informed me it was moreso of an appetizer-type dish, so I added Fries to make it a whole meal which was the perfect amount for me. I ordered my Filet Mignon medium rare and it seemed to be more pink than usual meats that I order as medium rare, though it was still good to eat for my liking. Overall, we would definitely come back to try more of the menu such as their brunch menu!

This place has great food and the ambiance felt authentic. Service was quick and attentive. I would recommend

Chocolate Duet Cake - Dine Downtown
No N.

Ambiance: 5/5 dimly lit but very nice and romantic place to take a date and dress up. They had some pleasing music as well. Went during Dine Downtown and it was very busy and kind of our, but still a very nice place with interesting decor Front door Host: 4/5 we made reservations and informed the host in the front. She wasn't rude but not Beth warm or personable and looked a bit confused or frazzled..maybe a new hire? Anyway she offered us wine for our wait and I had asked what kind to start a small convo. She just said red or white. My spouse and I opted to try both. She left for a second and Another host came by to offer us drink but we declined since we already had a sip and didn't want to get too tipsy. He was much more cheery, lively and knowledgeable about the wine and offered the next couple 4 different flavors. We came about 15 mins early, our range was ready in about 10mins Server: 4/5 We had to ask for the dine downtown menu because it wasn't on the table. Thought it was odd because other participating restaurants really promote it. She was friendly, fast and efficient and checked on us a good amount but it was super busy so she darted away quickly. When ready to pay, they pull out an tablet and you pay and tip right away, which is a bit awkward but it's efficient so they aren't going back and forth. Menu: the menu online was smaller than the Dine Downtown menu in person. I'm glad I asked because the in-person menu had way more options to choose from. I feel bad for those who missed out on the 'secret' in person dine downtown menu because some of the stuff we ordered were excellent. Free bread and hummus: 5/5 Most places serve hard top bread but finally, this place gives you soft bread. Easy on the gums and taste light and fluffy Grandmas Fritters: 5/5 light crispy and so good with the dipping sauce. A little squeeze of lemon made it better. Be careful because my was piping hot and I burned my gums. I work break it apart with a fork as try little pieces before biting straight into the ball. Worth it lol Three shores ravioli: 5/5 pasta cooked very well and there were meat chunks in every bite. Sauce was just right. serving size was good New York Steak: 4.5/5 this was not on the dd menu online but appeared on the in-person menu. I decided to try it. steak cooked perfectly. Mash with gravy and broccoli is were seasoned well. Presentation was decent but flavor was really good. since it was Dine Downtown, it looked like they cooked a full steak and then sliced it in half and gave it to another. Chocolate duet cake: 4/5, was not in the original DD online menu. loved the presentation and the cake was moist l, almost jelly like and very good. . Pistachio baklava: 5/5, was not in the original DD online menu. This was amazing and one prob one of the best desserts I've had in a while. The baklava was flaky and crispy, the ice compliments flavor and pistachio crumbles adds texture. The portion was great and shareable since it had three pieces. It wasn't overly sweet but soo delish. I would order this again in a heart beat. Only street Parking which is a bummer and it can be difficult to find and you normally have to pay. We parked across near the park and paid for two hours and it was more than enough. Had to walk 7 mins through the rose garden. I would come 15-20 min early before reservations to look further parking and have enough time to walk. Good thing I had Pashion convertible heels to go flat during my walk. Overall, I had a great experience and really enjoyed the food and ambiance. Dressing up is optional but you won't feel out of place if you decide to. I definitely recommend this place and will be back.

I showed up here for the first time on Saturday afternoon and I was greeted by the lovely bartender, Cheryl, who was a 5 star worker there! She offered me the happy hour, regular, and drinks menu all at once. She was very attentive! Even made great conversation with me! The ambiance was cute because it was around 330pm when I went in there and it was happy hour. Here are my reviews of the food now: Pork sliders: DELICIOUS! It was a tiny bit over salted but I still loved it! The portions were well for a happy hour menu item! 5/5 The mini carnitas Mac and cheese: YUCK! My goodness it was not all that good, I took a few bites to give this dish a chance but it was a total let down! Bland, no flavor at all. Do not order This dish! -100/5

Such a cool place in Sacramento. The environment was nice and relaxing. Dimly lit but not overly dark. The service was great. Our server was super friendly and answered our questions. The food came out fairly quick and was delicious. We ordered Crispy Pita Caesar Classic Caesar with a Mediterranean Twist with shrimp, chargrilled baby octopus with green lentils, meatballs, and fries with yogurt sauce and chili oil. Other folks had beet salad, filet mignon skewers, and raviolis. Everything was tasty. We would definitely come back here.

Ouzo Flamed Shrimp Three Shores Ravioli Calamari

Field-n-Flame is the perfect spot for a spontaneous date! We magically ended up here because the wait time was too long for some spots close by. The decoration of the whole establishment is classically stylish. I got the shrimp. My date got the ravioli. We shared some calamari. The servers were nice, attentive, and eager to share information.

I remember from the video they said this was considered a "bartenders bar",the kind of spot that that bartenders and workers in the industry would hangout after their shifts-I liked the sound of that. Walking up to where I thought the bar was located,it was kinda funny because it was just an innocent looking blue door with the words "Cocktail" along the side-doesn't look like much at all,I'd imagine I've walked by this place many times without thinking of ever going in-that was changing this time. When I walked in I 100% knew I was stumbling upon something special-it was a tiny place but it was overflowing with energy, not many booths in this bar and it may be the smallest bar I've ever been to but it felt special.Looking at the clientele I felt like I was with my people,it was so cool in there. This is the kind of place I would take my wife and any of my friends before a special night out and be it a dinner or a concert or a production at Safe Performing Arts Center and feel like it would set the right vibe for the night. Looking over the menu, they had some very interesting looking drinks, the wife went with a French 75($12.00)and I went with a Pecan Brown Sugar Old Fashioned($16.00)The bartenders are very friendly and super personable and really took their time and took pride in their drinks-I had never had an Old Fashioned quite like that one,but it went down super smooth-I loved i-I look forward to going there again asap. A coupe of things about this bar-they do only have 1 unisex bathroom,it was very clean. Also this place is so old school that they are a "Cash-Only " bar. They do have an atm in the bar in case you forget your cash. They have a big fish tank behind the bar that really put the room together nicely-I liked it a lot. In closing,if you ever find yourself in the Ice Blocks part of midtown and want to experience an awesome bar that feels very unique-head on down to Frank and have a drink or two-you won't regret it-I think I may have found my new favorite bar in all of Sacramento. The cucumber jalapeño margarita was refreshing, though a little sweeter than I expected and missing the spicy kick I was hoping for. The guacamole was fresh and tasty, but the portion was quite small and barely enough for two people in my opinion. The salsa was also small but it was absolutely phenomenal. The chicken tacos were excellent, with tender chicken that was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. The enmoladas were also fantastic and are a great way to sample Oaxaca's three unique mole sauces, each with its own distinct character. One thing to note is that the chicken filling is intentionally prepared very simply in traditional Oaxacan cuisine so that the mole remains the star of the dish. If you prefer heavily seasoned meat, this dish may be milder than what you are used to. Overall, everything we tried was delicious and offered a wonderful taste of authentic Oaxacan flavors. We ended up going with a few drinks that day. -Strawberry Negroni-($13.00)-This one blew my socks off-my favorite drink in the works is a Negroni but this bar makes a Strawberry version of it and let me tell ya-it's dynamite-10/10 rating -Old Fashioned-($12.00)-This is my go-to order at most bars because it's pretty reliable and most bars can make a decent one and I'd say they make a very solid one here-8.2/10 rating -Cucumber Gimlet with Tequila-($11.00)-This drink was made with lime-sweet vermouth and tequila-it was very refreshing and went down way too easy-rating 8.4/10 -Mezcal mystery drink-($12.00)-This was a drink the bartender made that after we declared our love for the smokiness of mezcal-I wouldn't be able to ask for it again unless I got the same waitress but if your a mezcal lover like I am-this drink was top of the line-smokiness intensity off the charts-9.1/10 rating So a little about the place that I picked up during my visit-I guess they serve food-I didn't know that but after my 2nd drink I looked back and saw this entire dining area with table side grills-so I guess the customers cook their own meats and such-pretty cool concept-my visit was strictly a drinking visit so I didn't partake but it looked pretty cool. I guess they are opened most days from 4p-12am and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. In closing-I really really enjoyed my visit to The Butterscotch Den and I was pretty sure I had found my new favorite bar in Sacramento with a bar in the Ice Blocks but I am pretty sure that has changed and The Butterscotch Den is my new favorite bar in the greater Sacramento area-if you find yourself looking for a new spot to enjoy some adult beverages or maybe looking for a date night spot-don't hesitate to make your way over to The Butterscotch Den-the place is a true hidden gem. PS-They have a Disco Ball in their lounge area and a vintage non-working cigarette machine-the coolest I tell ya.
