My partner and I celebrated our one year anniversary here and had a fabulous time. Our server was amazing, the service was impeccable and the food lived up to the expectations. We got the three course option: antipasti, an entree and dessert. I picked the porchetta tonnato ( pork belly salad) for the antipasti, scallop for entree and ciambella for dessert. They also brought out palate cleansers and complimentary prosecco for our anniversary which was so appreciated. The scallop was the most tender scallop I've ever tasted, it just melts in your mouth and perfectly seared. The ciambella has limocrllo macaropone, so soft and not overly sweet on a layer of olive oil cake. Reservations are a must. I booked a week before hand and there were limited availability. We love Allora! Have been there 2x now and both times it was amazing. The ambiance and service is great. They give you an a small bite in the beginning, bread along the way and a palette cleanser. Also give you free champagne or sparkling apple juice when you walk in if you are celebrating something special, which I thought was a nice touch. They call you ahead of time about their menu as it is a bit different method. You pay either $99 for 3 courses, $129 for 4 or $159 for 5. We usually got with the 3 courses and they let you pick a pasta, entree and desert in that. We felt like that was more than enough food. They also have a vegetarian menu that you can choose from, which I thought was nice in case of any dietary restrictions. I was able to pick from both menus so they are very flexible when it comes to what you choose for your courses. If you get the pasta, the fettuccine is a must try. So flavorful! The chicken was also amazing for entree. And the dessert, the most popular is the bomboloni for a reason. The gelato that comes with it is so unique. We also tried the bares dj ciccolato but agreed that the bomboloni was our favorite. Definitely worth getting! Loved our experience here overall and would definitely go back again. read more

While it isn't a Michelin Star Restaurant, it is in the Michelin Guide. The service and ambiance were Excellent. The door was opened when we arrived and left. The menus came with a wax seal on them. The silverware and plating was perfect. Aesthetically, the space was beautiful. Our server and the staff were attentive. Napkins were folded when you went to the bathroom and things like that. I love that.   I had the "It Must Be Spring" made with sarpa di poli grappa, elderflower, lemon, basil, and prosecco. It seemed like their take on/ an elevated hugo spritz. It was light and refreshing.   Caroline had the L'Ultravioletto with vodka, creme de violette, herbal amaro, orgeat, raspberry, lemon, and egg white. The presentation was gorgeous. I really enjoyed the eggwhite frothiness of this drink..  There was an amuse-bouche delivered that was a mini lobster roll type bite. The dough was so fluffy and light, and the aioli was such a perfect sauce choice.  We started with the brioche with carmelized onion butter and smoked maldon. The bread was literally glistening, in the best way. For the crudi course, I had the hamachi crudi which came with cured and charred hamachi, compressed strawberry, cucumber, and chili crisp. The plating was gorgeous, and the flavors were marvelous together. For the primi course, Caroline had the polpo which was balsamic glazed octopus with calabrian chili, ink, and potato gnocchi.This octopus was easily in the top two octopus I've ever had. It was so well cooked. The coating was almost sweet, like a caramelized coating. For my primi course, I had the spring pea vellutata with watercress, pickled shrimp, marcona almonds, and lemon ricotta. I would describe it as a springy deconstructed split pea soup. Caroline had the Agnolotti pasta with goat cheese, pine nuts, fava beans, morels, and pesto. This was not our favorite dish of the evening, but we still polished off the plate. I was expecting more of a pesto pasta situation based on the description, but there were just little tiny dabs of pesto on the plate. Personally, I am a heavy pesto gal, so I think that was my expectation. This spring time has made me appreciate fava beans. This was my first time trying morels, but I think I need to re-try them because I didn't really form an opinion based on this experience.  I had the bucatini with sardines, anchovy, green garlic puree, and an artichoke gremolata. Personally, I didn't love the scales still on the fish, but they were tolerable. The garlic was really flavorful. I don't think I necessarily tasted the artichoke, but it was a fun thing to include.  There was a palate cleanser that was brought out that was some sort of sorbet-adjacent dessert. It was fruit flavor, I believe raspberry or pomegranate. Perfect separation for Caroline's dish, but since both of mine were fish, I would have preferred it after my pea dish.  With my main dish, I had a glass of the Torre Mora Scalunera Etna Rosato DOC (2024) from Nerello Mascalese grapes from Sicily. How appropriate given my recent Sicily travels. It was light and went nicely with my main. I wanted a cab, but it wasn't a good pairing with my main. I am glad I didn't get the cab though because it wasn't my favorite when I tried Caroline's glass.  I had the branzino with fennel, english peas, potato, pearl onion confit, and trout roe. Personally, I am glad it was just a filet, rather than a full fish, especially at a nice restaurant. The potato was nice and definitely added substance to the dish. I have had a fair amount of trout roe recently. It kind of gives savory boba lol. The pea base was lovely and complimented the fish perfectly. The skin with the pea mixture added a nice seasoning to the fish.  Caroline, who is a lover of lamb, had the lamb with lingonberry demi, smoked celery root, and roasted red beets. I love beets, so I am never going to complain about them being on the plate. I was not in love with this dish. I prefer a more medium cook to my meat, so this was a little undercooked for me. It felt blah and lacking seasoning to me. I liked the flaky salt, but the lingonberry I was expecting more from.  They brought us two little complimentary desserts: a Madeline and a puff pastry. Both were lovely and was so kind of them to include with our meal. Caroline had the bomboloni with lemon curd, fennel butterscotch tuile, and toasted fennel gelato. I love a non-traditional ice cream flavor, and this one was no different. It was creamy and light but still had the fennel flavor, front and center. I loved that the lemon curd was inside, rather than a nutella or chocolate. The sugar coating was evenly distributed, and the bomboloni came out at a perfect temperature.  I am a sucker for an olive oil cake, so I had the ciambella kumquat custard, with limoncello marscapone. I loved the kumquat custard. The olive oil cake could have been more olive oil forward, but all of these components together were a yummy bite. read more

I haven't been in a minute, and I had forgotten how lovely this restaurant is. We got an email for the "date night" event that they have, which is a 2 for 1 prix fixe menu. You get to choose 4 courses for 2 people, for the price of one. Pretty good deal! My hubs hamachi crudo is soooo good. I was a huge fan of the octopus that they grilled to perfection. My favorite thing was probably the lamb. It has a Thanksgiving flavor to it because of the lingonberry demi glace. This also had beets, which I am not a fan of, but it was delicious in there. Hubs bomboloni was really delicious as well... having just gotten back from Italy last summer, this brought back memories and flavors from Italy! Will be back sooner than later. read more

We've been to a LOT of restaurants, from Arizona to Portland, San Francisco etc. We've eaten at MAS in Ashland plus many others. So we do have high standards (which is to be expected for a 3 course, $400 dinner for two). The best dishes were the Wagu (very hard to mess that up), and the Bombolini dessert. Still those dishes were 4/5 stars at best. And putting a flavorless stale cracker on the Wagu plate, well, those things just have no business being there. We also got the Branzino, which was extremely bland, on top of some seemingly frozen vegetables and pees. We ate about 1/3rd of that. The Pulpo (octopus) had a beautiful presentation, but only ate half of it, as it tasted just a bit fishy. Likely needed to be marinated for longer, better quality etc. The service was 5 stars aside from the entrees taking a bit too long to arrive, and the place itself is nice. But the food, very underwhelming. Wouldn't go back because nothing was AMAZING, and for the price, you deserve to expect at least something to wow you. Unfortunately presentation can only get you so far, quality of ingredients and actual flavor is what really matters. read more

What a beautiful restaurant smack dab in the middle of a quiet neighborhood. We came to celebrate my daughter's 32 birthday and everyone left feeling happy and full. From start to finish the attention to details is most definitely their strong hold on you. A very sophisticated ambiance yet relaxing and welcoming. We were a party of 5 and had the 3 course menu and 4 course menu. Our server was the utmost respectful and attentive during the whole dinner. The wax sealed menus and my daughter's personalized one with bday greeting made her feel very special. We started with the carne cruda that was excellent and the Polpo. The octopus was crispy on the outside and tender inside. Absolute perfection. I could come back to just eat this!! We tried the venison- too gamey for me but others loved it. The chicken picatta- a safe choice for picky eaters Japanese A5- wagyu- perfect for my son. Too fatty for me. Bucatini con le sarde- crispy anchovies in a delicate pasta and suace that was heavenly. Fettuccine- with lobster prawn and pancetta was a delight for me to eat. Allora has a beautiful aesthetic. From the menus with the green seals matching the design of their tabletops to the wooden box they bring the tab out in, everything feels a bit more elevated than anywhere else l've ever dined (and I guess it should since the price tag is also higher than anywhere else I've ever eaten). Service was so welcoming and helpful. Sometimes I worry that finer dining places will be a bit rude or snooty, but that was far from the case here. I'm not going to lie, I attempted to pronounce maybe one of the dishes I ordered and simply pointed to the others. :) Presentation was great. While I can't say I thought each course was the best thing I'd ever eaten, I can say I overall really enjoyed the meal and experience as a whole. I'm not a vegetarian anymore, but i tend to lean more towards vegetarian meals still, so I opted to try the four-course meal off that menu. My husband and I went to Allora to try their fixed menu for Valentine's Day. The ambiance of the place is calm, serene and respectful without being judge-mental. I appreciate that when I'm paying a nice amount for the food experience. The service was spot on as well. The staff seemed happy and engaged respectfully with patrons. The food and drinks were the absolute star of the evening. -my favorite drink: The Painted Fish is a delicious rum drink presented in a large fish shaped bowl. The drink is worth the calories. -My two favorite courses were the Lobster Burrata dish with chives, fennel and grapefruit. It was a refreshing salad that tasted like a party in my mouth with each bite. The Agnolotti past with porcini mushroom served with an aged balsamic sauce, is still making my mouth water...an entire day later. Mini surprise Bday party for my wife and Allora did not disappoint. There isn't much parking here but it was a weeknight and we found parking close by. Parking might be a problem on the weekends. The decor was relaxed and classy. We had a large booth tucked away in a corner giving our party of seven privacy. Our server Alton and his associates were excellent there were no mixups despite the multiple courses and drinks. Gratuity is included in the bill but we added a little extra because the staff earned it. The menu presentation was elegant with Susan's name displayed and sealed with wax. You can choose from 3 course $99 4 course $129 and 5 courses for $159. This is very thoughtful as many in our party were not big eaters. We ordered the 5 course meal and guests who ordered 3 or 4 course meals were always brought a complimentary small dish so they would not be watching while the 5 course guests received extra dishes. Cudo's to Allora's management for this thoughtful policy. All of our food was beautiful and delicious. Our favorite dishes were the grilled octopus with gnocchi and the seafood fettuccine. We found Allora to be a great place for a relaxed fine dining experience. I highly recommend this establishment. read more

I've been meaning to write a review for Allora which is consistently recognized as one of the best restaurants in Sacramento. The accolades and the hype are well deserved because this was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. When the lasagna arrived I had to take another look. Usually it's presented as a more comforting dish, so I was skeptical when I saw this modern presentation. I was worried that this interpretation of such a classic, comforting dish would fall flat but all these concerns disappeared at my first bite and after the second bite my understanding of lasagna and its possibilities were transformed. It was rich and creamy and had a wonderful texture. The rest of the dishes continued to impress but the lasagna was a clear front runner for me. The service was impeccable and the environment was peaceful even with a full house. I'm looking forward to another evening at Allora whenever that may be. read more

Delicious anniversary dinner at Allora! We went with some friends for my first time dining there and the food was delicious! Located east of downtime Sacramento (about 19 minutes cab ride) they offer a variety of Italian dishes with a range of multi course meals. My daughter took me here for my birthday, which was very sweet of her. We had reservations, and when we arrived, we parked on the street just down from the entrance. The restaurant's own parking lot only has two spaces, and one is handicapped. Inside, the restaurant was quite full, but we were seated right away--at what seemed to be the exact same table we'd had on a previous visit. They had even printed a special birthday menu for me, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the lighting made it hard to read, and I hadn't brought my readers, so I had to take a picture and zoom in on my phone. My daughter had a few questions about the menu, and our server kindly explained the different items. We chose the five-course tasting menu. I started with the oysters. Last time, the server suggested ordering them plain if I loved oysters, which I did. This time I decided to try the chef's preparation, which came with a cantaloupe coulis. It changed the flavor quite a bit. It was okay, but not amazing, though the oysters themselves--Kumamotos--were ones I really enjoy. Next was the Polpo, octopus served over potato gnocchi. The octopus was tough and difficult to chew, which didn't seem right. When I asked the server, he agreed it shouldn't be that way and took the plate back. A staff member offered to cook a fresh one, assuring me it would be perfect. I was hesitant, but agreed. They offered me another dish so I asked for the Hamachi crudo in the meantime, and that was very nice--I enjoyed it. When the Polpo came back out, the octopus was a little softer, and I told her it was fine, though it was still just okay. The gnocchi underneath was excellent and really saved the dish. I had the Lasagna alla Bolognese next, which I've had before and already knew was very good. I was trying a variety of dishes to get a broader sense of the chef's offerings. Our server raved about the scallop, so I tried that as well, but it too was just okay--nothing memorable, which was disappointing. When I first came to this restaurant years ago, I felt it deserved a Michelin star. Now I can see why it hasn't received one. The food can be good, but it lacks consistency, and the dishes seem to be constantly changing without always hitting the mark. I've now been here three times. The first time, I was amazed. The last two times, something in the meal has been off or improperly cooked. I was also trying to film each dish as it arrived, but each time, the servers began describing the dish before they even reached our table. A more polished service would place the dish first, then explain it. There was no need to rush. Additionally, after each course, they replaced the silverware but never wiped down the table. I had water rings and drips of water in front of me, yet they simply set the new utensils down and moved on. It felt a bit unsanitary, and I probably should have said something. If they're going to continue charging high-end prices, the experience needs to reflect that. The little things matter. I'm not sure I'll return here for a special occasion again. read more

First, a disclaimer, this review and pictures are from 7-13-2021, but after checking with friends, I understand that the quality and service is still top notch. I was invited to dine at Allora as kind of a bucket list experience. The place didn't disappoint, the service was fantastic, the company excellent and the quality of fare on point. My highest compliments. We enjoyed the semi-outside seating which fortunately was quiet (often patio dining can be ruined by clowns driving by with loud cars.) While we were there, this was not an issue. Pricing is high, so know that going in, and meals are prix fixe. Look before you leap. You definitely get what you pay for. Allora is a beautiful space. The ambiance is sleek and inviting from the dining room to patio. The service is impeccable. Every staff member is friendly, knowledgeable, and competent. The food does not deliver on the promises of these first observances. We each chose the 5 course menu and shared bites to try as many things as possible. The highlights: Carne Crudo and Composed Oysters were solid. Asparagus and Prosciutto was perfection with frisee and 6 minute egg. Vinaigrette perfect. Lasagna was tiny layers of pure decadence. The lows: The pulpo was so over cooked you could barely cut it with a knife. The fettuccine with lobster and shrimp was cloying and seafood was also over cooked. The lamb lacked any real presence and was completely taken over by the accompanying sauces. The branzino was basically inedible. The thinnest of filets that could not be separated with a fork and barely broken in to pieces with help of a knife. Honestly the worst branzino I've been served in a restaurant. For the price I would never recommend Allora. And honestly, I wish I would have read some previous reviews before assuming the quality of food. read more

We had a wonderful evening at Allora celebrating our anniversary. Our server Chris was so knowledgeable, kind, and confident. He had a very chill vibe and was a complete professional. He went out of his way to make sure all of our dietary restrictions were followed and gave great recommendations for favorites on the menu. All of the staff were lovely and we appreciated the welcome prosecco and candles on our desserts to celebrate our special occasion. Shoutout to A, who let us know that they also have a selection of complimentary reading glasses available for any patron to borrow during their dining service. While all of the food/drinks were amazing, we especially loved the oysters, polpo (ocotpus), and lobster fettuccine dishes. We also loved their twist on an espresso martini which used rum and had a tasty coconut foam on top. We will definitely be back for our next special occasion! read more

If you're looking for a dining experience that genuinely earns the word extraordinary, Allora delivers from the first amuse-bouche to the final bite. We did the four-course tasting menu with wine pairing, and every course felt like a small act of artistry. The meal opened with elegant little fried bites nestled in a wooden box and a tin of Nicoulai caviar with a mother-of-pearl spoon. It set the tone immediately: this kitchen takes hospitality seriously without taking itself too seriously. The pasta course was a showstopper -- deeply charred, layered, almost architectural, served in a pool of silky foam with drizzles of chili oil and herb oil. Bold, confident cooking. The risotto that followed was impossibly creamy and crowned with a gorgeous golden cheese crisp -- simple in presentation, complex in flavor. A palate cleanser arrived as a single pink sorbet sphere in a frosted coupe -- more lovely than it had any right to be. The main was beautifully sliced, rosy A5 waygu plated with caramelized vegetables and a creamy puree -- restrained and precise. The wine pairings were thoughtfully chosen and well-paced throughout. $400 let down for sure. I have been wanting to come here for so long. I literally cannot understand the good reviews. There are so many great establishments in Sacramento and this one was a huge disappointment. It is beautiful inside, the outdoor seating included, and the service was great. Except I don't understand returning a plate with only half a scallop eaten and it not being removed from the bill. So here we go with the review of what we came for, the food. We started with the oysters which my husband said tastes like a ketchup sauce was on it so he only at 1 of his 4. I age the rest and they were ok. I got the Polpo which was just ok. The soup was very tomato forward with not much of any other flavor. The octopus was overcooked. For the entree my husband had the A5 waygu and it was ok. The potatoes we liked. But again the sauce was like a sweet tomato taste. Nothing savory. I mistakenly ordered the scallops. I asked the waiter prior to ordering if they would be crisp on outside and he said yes. Which maybe they were but then they topped it with pears and pineapple which made it soggy. I told our waiter and he said yea it would be better on side. It's just like everything was sweet no flavor pallet. Anyways he took it away but I still paid for my uneaten food. See bill photo. The desert. Just how can they mess this up. MIGLIACCIO was just yuck. Like why and what. The chocolate cake they gave complimentary was ok.. I don't know the breaded curd filled on name but it was just meh. Like literally none made me feel fulfilled. The chef sent us home with a chicken entree as a consolation of sort. We tried it at home with four teens and us adults. Not any of us six humans cared for it. Again more of that sweetness taste. The drinks were delicious I will say that! The service and ambience is great. But literally what in the world with the food. Such a let down, and then to pay for unfulfilling experience on a Saturday date night. My wife and I dined at Allora for our 12th anniversary. This restaurant is such a gem. From the moment you walk in you can feel the culture that was curated there. From the check in with the host (wished us a happy anniversary as did Nick our waiter). To every single interaction you feel as though you are the center of attention. It is the best dining experience in Sacramento. We were given complimentary celebratory drinks, and Nick was an amazing waiter. His knowledge and mastery of the menu made everything sound so enticing. Maybe less of a challenge with such a fantastic selection. The octopus was amazing, the fettuccine was one of the best dishes I've ever had. The Marsala and the black cod were perfect. The desserts were a perfect ending. Though, I did wish they would provide more bread for the tartare. (4/5) Amuse Bouche - Complimentary bite. No complaints. (5/5) Fettuccine - Absolutely incredible. I've never tasted a pasta dish like this ever before. The pasta was perfectly seasoned and rich, cooked to perfection, and coated in a buttery sauce that was bursting with lobster flavors and chunks. I'd highly recommend this. (4/5) Ginger Sorbet Palette Cleanser - It was a nice palette cleanser, I wish we got more. (4/5) Black Cod - The butternut squash and roasted vegetables were seasoned perfectly and paired beautifully with the cod. However, the cod itself wasn't as tender or buttery. (3/5) Pear Crostata - The flavors of the pear complemented with the vanilla ice cream was perfectly sweet, tart, and balanced. However, the crust was as hard as a rock. It was impossible to take a bite, without breaking the plate with your spoon. Service & Ambiance: (5/5) The service here was extraordinary. Our server was extremely attentive and had great knowledge about every single dish. The entire course took us about 3 hours because we were taking our time with every dish and the server was extremely patient. They have a set course meals that you can get either 3/4/5 courses, and they have various sections to choose from. Each course is so unique it tells a different story and I would highly recommend getting the wine pairing to go along. Each wine is so different and goes together amazingly with your dish choice. David O. reserved us a table at Allora this past Sunday to celebrate our tenth anniversary (I know, right?), and everything about the evening was perfect. We were offered complimentary glasses of prosecco upon arriving at our table, and our special menu cards wished us a happy anniversary. It's the little things. This was not supposed to be a long review, but yet again, my typing fingers flew 2 fast 2 furiously to express my devotion after such an excellent meal shared with my beloved. We both chose the four course option, with me choosing from the thoughtful vegetarian friendly menu (they also have vegan dishes for each course) and adding a wine pairing. This was my first time having a sommelier come to the table with each pairing, and I very much enjoyed this experience. At the end of the evening I was given a handwritten card listing each of the four wines that accompanied each course, which was such a nice touch. My favorite wine of the evening was the Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese (Sicilian grape, reminded me of a pinot), which was paired beautifully with my parmesan x3 risotto. So, onto the food. Oh my sweet taste buds, the food. Are you, like me and certain other occult beings, an audible enjoyer of food? I was trying so hard not to make any appreciative sounds in public. The caprese by itself was one of the best dishes I have tasted in my life, particularly the heirloom tomato sorbet (bright orange in my pictures of the dish). This was the insalata caprese I chose for the antipasti course. What a way to start off, wow. Oops, I forgot to mention the gazpacho tasters we were given before our antipasti course, with toasted almonds. Delicious. I had been wanting to try gazpacho since I saw, uh a certain Pedro Almodóvar film. It did not disappoint. Perfect for a hot summer day. Anyhow, for the pasta course, I chose the Risotto 2.0, which had as a description, parmesan, parmesan, parmesan. Parmesan x3. One of these was crisped on top, and all the components were absolutely heavenly. For my entree course, I chose the gnocchi alla romana, which had a phenomenal mushroom bolognese, smoked scamorza, and pecorino. Hey, I only had to look two of those up! Our waitress smiled and reminded me she was better to ask than Google, and she is correct. I had not had gnocchi prepared this way before, and it was truly delightful. Also, very filling. By this point I was not sure how I was going to handle dessert! Alas, dessert was course four, and my choice was the migliaccio, which was a kind of peach and crème fraîche ricotta cheesecake. Divine. Dave ordered the bomboloni with lemon curd and gelato, which reminded me of donut holes. We traded bites and each dish was so yummy. We were also served these desserts on two plates with lit candles, as another way to celebrate us. This was so sweet. 2 sweet 4 me? Never. Not yet done, we were offered two dessert bites to send us on our way, a lemon curd round and a carrot cake madeleine. Again, both were delicious. Everyone who waited on us was wonderful and professional. I loved the big windows, marble, and carefully tended plants, as well as the plush green chairs, which were quite comfortable during our two hour stay. If you are looking for a window seat, I would request it upon making your recommendation. I did not mind not having one, as the windows were so open and bright, but a couple nearby sounded like they did mind. Oh well. I noticed also that there is patio seating outside with a lovely succulent garden. Maybe for better weather. There were folks dressed up and more casual, so don't be like me and get anxious over what to wear before dining here. It is an approachable establishment and menu. One could choose three courses and cocktails to make it a more affordable evening, and I did notice they have bar seating. Parking is the usual East Sac story of side streets, and we had no trouble there. I only pretended I was in The Bear for five seconds, for those curious. Allora is the perfect place for a special evening, and I'm very thankful to have had the chance to dine here with my honey. I am still thinking of you, fresh summer caprese. Other than the 100 degree heat in the covered outdoor dining area, everything else was near perfect! Allora has a small parking lot but there's ample street parking. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. They do not have a tasting menu, but you can opt for the $99 (3 course), $129 (4 course) or $159 (5 course). Not everyone in your group need to select the same number of course. From the Crudi group, the Carne Cruda is the go to dish if you are in to raw beef. From the Antipasti, go for the Poplo or Squash Blossom. The Poplo was tender and full of flavor. From the Pasta/Risotto group, hands down go for the Risotto 2.0 and Fettucine. The Risotto 2.0 is parmesan with a parmesan foam with a parmesan crisp but was not overpowering or salty. Fresh pasta with lobster is always good, but ours was a tad on the salty side. For the Entree, go with the scallop or Zabuton (sous vide short rib). The scallop is on the spice and spicy side and you'll love it if you like sweet pepper chutney. The Zabuton is falvorful and tender. For Dolce, the Barra Di Cioccolato and Affogato are a no brainer. The Barra is rich and pairs perfectly with the Affogato. The Affogato had the perfect blend of sweet with bitter expresso, although I wish it had a tad more ice cream. The waitress and wait staff here are hands down the best. Attentive and kept our sparkling water glass full. Restaurant does have a mandatory 20% service charge plus 3% kitchen fee which they do disclose very clearly on the website and when making the reservation. But my opinion, the staff here deserves every bit plus more! read more

Went here for a Valentines date night. I have been wanting to go for a while and happy to say it lived up to expectations. We had a great time. All the Staff were very friendly. The bartender was very experienced and knowledgeable. We did the 5 course meal with a bread addition. Everything was great!! I would come back again. Portion sizes were a lot bigger than what I have experienced with other fine dining which I appreciated. Pricing is on the high end but the service and food made it worth it. Loved it all. read more

I've eaten here twice. Once for my birthday and once for my anniversary. Both times, were fantastic. The staff are friendly, and the service was excellent (but on the slow side). Parking is street parking. The dinner course is person. Wine paring and other options are an extra cost. You select a dish from each course from the menu. They have little touches on the menu on your special occasion. The place was clean and bright. I really like this place. The food was excellent. My favorite was the raviolis. read more

4.5 stars Second time at Allora, service of course is phenomenal. Love the team! The Polpo was my favorite. Also, I stand by what I said in my last review 3 courses are good enough for me. I was so full that I couldn't finish my lemon curd dessert!!! So sad! Branzino was crisp to perfection. 2 cocktails + 3 course menu + 1 latte + tips & taxes came out to ~193. There was only one thing that made this whole experience disappointing. It was really warm in the outdoor seating. We were given a table fan, and there were two outdoor acs on. However, it would've been better if they turned it on longer before our reservation to cooled the patio. I asked during the confirmation call if the outdoors seating will be really hot. She told me it should be fine, but the 3 of us were breaking a sweat out there. We were fanning ourselves w the paper menus. When we left the restaurant, outside was cooler than the patio... Also, someone within our vicinity did not smell very nice :(. So, if you are going to book this restaurant, do it ahead of time to get indoor seating for best experience. read more

Service - friendly and attentive. Decently accommodating for my allergies but some dishes just couldn't be adjusted. Came for my birthday and got a custom happy birthday menu which I loved. I was most excited to try the pasta since this is an Italian restaurant but surprisingly, that was my least favorite dish. I did the 4 course menu, rest of pictures are from my family members that I won't speak on too much. Drink - painted fish, came in a fish glass. Obsessed. Delicious drink and I named my fish glass Oscar before we parted. Hope he's doing well Amuse Bouche - loved it, don't remember what was in it except for caviar and some kind of fish component. Beets + burrata - probably in the top 3 salads I've ever had. Refreshing, well balanced, playful flavors Risotto 2.0 - it was okay. Not much flavor the risotto itself and it wasn't as rich as you'd expect from a higher scale Italian restaurant. It seemed they relied on the crunchy Parmesan on top for all the flavor but it really fell flat for me. Ravioli I think? - My family members got the 3 course menu, so no pasta dish, but they brought out a singular ravioli type pasta and it was so good I wish that was my main pasta dish. Really appreciated that they did that Currant sorbet - small complimentary bite between courses. Love the touch and the small bite was bursting with sweet and tart flavor Zabuton - favorite dish!! The meat was cooked perfectly and the other components were phenomenal. No notes. I didn't finish it and ate it the next day and it was still good. Anyways order this if it's on the menu Torta di cachi - loved the combination of persimmon and salted caramel in this. It's a pretty light dessert and didn't feel too rich. Really enjoyed it after a heavier meal. My family and I did try every dessert on the menu between us and we loved them all. Would say my favorite was barra di cioccolato if you love chocolate. Least fav was pear crostata - it was good but not as special as the rest. Would definitely come back for another special occasion dinner to try a new menu! read more

Absolutely transcendent, I have nothing further to add. Go for the caviar, it's worth it! The interior was warm and welcoming, allowing the comfort to approach complex dishes and reminding you of the simple, individual ingredients. The chef came out to greet us, he really made us feel like the night was for us and us alone. My husband called ahead and had a special message added to our menu-- what a thoughtful touch! read more

​I flew in from San Francisco specifically to see if the rumors about Allora held up. While the experience had flashes of absolute brilliance, it was also a study in missed opportunities. I arrived early due to a flight landing ahead of schedule and spent quite a bit of time at the bar due to a lagging guest at my table. Pro tip: The martini program here is world-class. If you appreciate a well-balanced cocktail, the bar alone is worth the trip. I went all in--opting for the 5-course request with every supplement possible and the full wine pairing. But I wanted more! I requested a 6th course and 6th wine pairing to pair. Objectively good, but it lacked "soul." I was searching for more depth, more spice, and bolder flavor profile.nThe dessert course was a genuine triumph--it stood entirely on its own as a work of art, no pairing needed - for the pastry chef know your worth. ​ The wine selection is breathtaking. Each bottle was so high-quality that the pairings felt like a symphony. However, a symphony needs a conductor. The "marriage" between the glass and the plate wasn't always there. I was particularly let down when my 6th pairing--intended for caviar--was the exact same sparkling wine I had already been served at the bar. For a fine dining tasting menu, you expect progression, not a repeat, unless request. A tasting menu is supposed to be an orchestrated experience. Here, it felt like food was just being "brought out." There was no narrative, no storytelling, and no sense of occasion from the staff. I get it, we do have a copy of the menu already; however, when you pay for a premium tasting, you're paying for the service, not just a delivery of plates like at Chilis. ​ I'm giving it a 5/5 because the raw components--the wine, the ingredients, and the bar--are clearly top-tier. There is immense potential here. However, due to the disconnect between the kitchen, beverage, and the service, I likely won't be back. Definitely check it out for yourself to experience. We reserved a dinner for me and my partner's birthday celebration. It was easy to make the reservation and had to change the time last minute, which was always easy. There's only really street parking, besides the two on the side of the restaurant. When we walked in, the host immediately open the door for us and the servers were super personable. The interior is very clean and modern. There is a large decorated table as soon as you walk in, probably meant for larger parties. We were kindly greeted with our own personalized menus with a wax stamp. We were seated next to the kitchen window which gave us an awesome view of the food being cooked, plated, and sent out. It was awesome Our server was personable, attentive, and answered all our questions and gave us recommendations. Not pushy at all. We ordered the 5 course meal for 2. I wasn't sure what to expect, but everything was fantastic and we were also given complimentary snacks and a free dessert in celebration of our birthdays! We had the crudo to start which was raw meat. Tasted great. I had the raw scallops and it didn't taste fishy or have a slimy texture at all. Of course, presentation was great I got the caprese and my gf got the octopus. Tasted great and the octopus was cooked perfect and had the texture of like beef! We then each had pastas, which were cooked perfect and were delicious as well. The portions of the dish so far were done just right as it wasn't too much but not too little as well. After our pastas, we were given a lemon sherbet, which they told us was a palette cleanser before our main entrees! Nice treat For our entree, I got the scallops and my gf got the branzino. Both tasted great as well and were portioned well for us. It was also nice because they had the head chef bring out the plates and spoke to us for a bit We then finished off with dessert. She got the ice cream and donuts and I got some kind of Italian cake? I preferred my gf's dessert over mine but it wasn't bad. Overall, our experience was fantastic for our birthdays and we were definitely full after. The price is on the higher side, but I wouldn't say outrageous if you've been to similar places. One of the most outstanding fine dining experiences I have had in a long time. We came on a really hot night and sat outside on the almost fully enclosed patio. It was hot. Really really hot, even with the table fan that they provided upon request. Flies were a problem for a while as well. At first it was just the occasional fly, and then as it got darker and started cooling off, they became quite persistent and annoying before they finally took off for the night. So for hot nights would recommend sitting indoors if possible. Would also recommend that the restaurant get stronger fans, maybe with the longer blades that some restaurants use. The inconvenience was totally worth the amazing cuisine, however. You could choose from 3, 4, or 5-course meals - dessert was one of the courses, and the crudi and antipasti were interchangeable. The highlights for me included the complimentary amuse bouche (some type of mushroom mousse in a choux pastry) and the polpo, but the real standout of the night was the scallops, which were perfectly cooked through, juicy, and tender. The desserts were all delicious, but my favorite was the lemon curd-filled bomboloni. Service was exceptional. Would love to come here again. read more
