Luna lounge just made an awful decision to discontinue trivia on Sunday nights. They say this is due to lack of "turnover" but I find it very hard to imagine that they will get as much business without trivia night. I live right down the street and never came here until I found out they had Sunday night trivia a few years back. I won't be coming back unless they reverse their decision. Trivia is what made this place worth coming to. I love the staff and will miss them terribly! Fortunately, thirsty for the answer trivia has an earlier session at Capital taproom every Sunday. I encourage you all to support that business instead. There are lots of great places to eat right next-door and they let you bring food from neighboring businesses into the bar. read more

We arrived a bit late (an hour early) for the trivia night, which begins at 6:30pm. Staff is always extraordinarily accommodating as we show up in a group of six. While a booth would be preferable as they can accommodate a group our size, those are prized on Trivia night. This evening, staff brought an additional four stools to the bar so we could all sit. They were out of the "Jackrabbit done gone working(?) Pilsner" so, I ordered the lager. On the special list was a rib eye, but I didn't care for the sides (garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus), so I went with the New York off the main menu which included herbed butter, mashed potatoes, heirloom tomato with crumbled gorgonzola. Steak was done to medium rare perfection, potatoes delicious and I very much enjoyed the tomatoes. Katie ordered a salad, She and JJ shared her margarita pizza. It was huge. We brought some home. Didn't see what the others ordered but all enjoyed their food and drinks. Trivia here is a ton of fun. Friends have hired the emcee for private gatherings. The stress over seating may have us seeking out another venue. read more

One of my friends swears by this spot, and now that I've been a few times, I totally get the hype. It's a charming little place tucked away in plain sight, and honestly, it's the perfect combo of good food, strong drinks, and laid-back vibes. I usually grab a seat at the bar. It's got that fun, mellow energy that makes it a great place to chill and catch up. The service is consistently solid, and everything just feels easy and relaxed. This time around, we hit up the happy hour menu and ordered a few appetizers. The nachos were solid, but the cheese bread stole the show. So. Freaking. Good. Totally worth the carb splurge (even if tomorrow me might have some regrets... today me has zero). After making the 30 minute drive from our home to K1 Racing, we realized that we were three hours early for a friend's birthday celebration. Instead of driving back home, we decided to make a date out of the extra time. A quick Yelp "around me" search led us to Luna Lounge. Ironically, it was happy hour at the establishment; hence the nice gathering of patrons in the outdoor seating area conversing over glasses of wine. Upon entering the establishment we were greeted by an employee (unfortunately I did not obtain his name) who ushered us to the outside seating area and provided menus. My wife and I were not hungry, so we both ordered the chardonnay that's on the happy hour menu. Less than five minutes later, the server returned with two generously poured glasses of chardonnay. As we slowly sipped our wine, we chatted and enjoyed the very pleasant Spring-like weather. Although the chardonnay wasn't as flavor forward as we're used to (I think we have grown to be wine snobs over the year), we appreciated the price and the pour size. Also, the serve did a splendid job of regularly checking in on us. Since I'm rarely in this area, I cannot say that we'll make a return visit anytime soon. However, I encourage you to check out Luna Lounge...their food looks delicious! read more

Great spot for a nice outdoor breakfast or lunch! Their outdoor patio is very welcoming. I've heard the indoor lounge and bar turns into a bar type scene during the night. I've been here twice. They have happy hour between 3-6 on the weekdays. I really enjoyed their steak salad and cheesy breadstick appetizer. The club sandwich is also a good lunch choice, they stack it full of turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese and condiments. Their fries are seasoned and very crispy! I've also tried the steak thai noodle salad which was.. interesting. The steak was cooked perfect but the salad altogether was an interesting mix of flavors. Service is pretty good here. Decided to try out the trivia night at Luna Lounge on Sunday. My friend and I go to different trivia places, so we thought we'd try here. It's connected to or inside Bella Bru Cafe. They have lots of seating outside, but coming inside, it is a pretty small place. A few booths, the bar area, then a couple of tables. Anyway, we come a little after 6pm since trivia starts at 6:30. Firstly, this place is tiny. Not much seating in the first place, nothing saying there is trivia going on, nothing. We actually went into Bella Bru, at first, because we weren't sure where the trivia took place as there was no sign, no one talking about trivia, no trivia set up. We asked at the bar (which honestly just looks like a small upscale sports bar type place) and the lady said that trivia would start after the sports game that was playing, and she wasn't sure, but some people would probably be leaving after the game, so we could get a seat. Okay, cool, but if your trivia is advertised at 6:30... that's when it should start. I get waiting a few minutes for extras, but we're waiting for the game to end. We stood around for a while; it turned 6:27 and the game was still on. She also told us, if we wanted a seat, we need to come, at least, an hour early. So, we should come an hour early (just to get a seat) for a supposedly scheduled trivia that won't start until whatever game is on that Sunday is over. Okay... interesting. It looked like football, and the game had almost 8 minutes left on the clock, but you know how they start and stop with football, so who knows how long that 8 minutes would have actually taken. We could be sitting there until 7 or later, waiting for a game to finish. It just didn't seem very welcoming or organized for a trivia game. We didn't even see the trivia set up (usually, someone there with the papers, if they use paper, and a microphone and speaker, so people can hear the questions), so not somewhere I'll be coming back to. Shoot, we went over to Bella Bru Cafe and stayed and had a little food, and we never even heard anything that sounded like trivia coming from the bar area. Not even sure they had the session or if they just happened to be super quiet, because Bella Bru wasn't full, nor was it noisy. The only reason this has 1 star is because of Bella Bru Cafe, which I'll be writing my review for them on their page. read more

One of my favorite spots when I come to Sacramento. Casual neighborhood cafe, but comfortable patio with lots of trees, super friendly service, and really good food. Can't really go wrong with any of the salads, sandwiches, burgers or pizzas. But I had the salmon salad today, and it was really delicious and flavorful. Cobb is great, too. Recommend their sportea -,a decaf green tea w/ touch Ginseng- so refreshing. They even brought a glass to my friend, right as we sat down (her usual; she's a regular!) and ended up bringing a pitcher for the table. A lovely lunch, as always. read more

Have been here for drinks and the menu always looked good so we thought we would give them a try for dinner, Complete disappointment !!! My wife had angel hair pasta ,it was chopped into little pieces, something like you would feed to a child and the sauce was like watered down Chef-boyardee I had the fried chicken sandwich, can't mess that up right? One time... when I was 9, I saved up my allowance for months to buy a new pair of Jordan's. All the cool kids were wearing them and I thought... this is it. This is my ticket to ride the cool train. I came here with my Boss for Happy Hour one evening after work. I am running out of places to review around my place of employment (especially those that serve alcohol) so I suggested we come here. I like the space. It's rather oddly set up, so we ended up sitting behind the bar. They do have a nice patio. I was also the youngest person in the bar by at least 10 years. It was fine by me because I always prefer an older crowd, but if you don't, this is not your scene. Food and drinks are not cheap. And there is literally nothing of value on their tiny Happy Hour menu. So, since the Boss was paying, we ordered off the regular menu. I ordered a White Linen to start. Now, I like to drink so I've had the White Linen at many places (Capital Dime, Ella, Shady Lady, etc) and this wasn't it. I could have sworn (almost on my life) they made it with vodka instead of gin. Eh. My second drink was a Gin and Tonic which is my favorite drink. It was $10. It was good, but it was $10. I believe I had a third drink as well, but I'm not too sure. None of my drinks were on the Happy Hour menu. We also ordered their Spinach and Artichoke Dip for something to munch on. This again, was not on the Happy Hour menu. The dip portion was really good, very cheesy and yummy. But they served it with potato chips which stood no chance against the rather heavy dip. The chip to dip ratio was also off so we quickly ran out of chips before dip. We had to ask for more. Bread would have been a better choice. Overall, everything was good and we had a great time. Would I come back? Yes, but only if someone else was buying. Too rich for my blood. Oh, and this bar does have a huge Sierra Oaks/Arden Park following if you know what I mean. Although this revision does not affect the number of stars, I just had to rewrite my last review. Came here three weeks ago to meet up with a friend. We had the meat platter, some calamari and, of course, drinks. I was in a beer mood, so had a pint of Sierra Nevada. It was happy hour, so you have to take advantage of that! What I wasn't too thrilled about was the food. The meat platter was $10.95 and came with three measly pieces of "crostini" (think miniature savory biscotti) and a few cold cuts. The prosciutto, or it could have been parma ham, consisted of a few transparent slivers. For the price, they could have been more generous. We also had to ask for more of the crostini as three little pieces between two hungry women does not go far. The calamari at $8.95 tended to be on the greasy side and there were even leftovers. I didn't even bother to bring them home for the chickens! (Yes, I have backyard chickens, don't tell anyone!) So bottom line, I would not come here for the food. Probably a good place to come after you've had a decent meal elsewhere or want a drink before dinner. Their cocktails are still wonderful and the happy hour is good too - wish the times were listed on their website, but I recall meeting my friend before 6:00. read more

I've had nice snacks and drinks here before, and the servers are always friendly. That said, very disappointed with our recent visit here. We arrived Saturday around 12:40, promptly seated at an outside table (party of 4), drink and food orders taken. Once our drinks arrived we didn't see our server again (nor any server checking in on us) until 2 of our entrees arrived 45 minutes later. The other two entrees didn't come out until our server came to check on us 10 minutes later and noticed they weren't there. Another 5 minutes for those. There was no "how's your food" check in; if there were, we'd have shown her the food came out wrong - pizza missing toppings, sandwich had a single slice of avocado and tomato on one half (the other half just lettuce, Turkey, spread). Just really a let down on the food all around, and at that point we'd been waiting an hour to eat with empty glasses. The server was kind, just not attentive. (An understatement.) There were other service staff on the floor, and I'm understanding to the possibility of this being an understaffed time, but this was beyond. No one spoke to us - at all - for 45 minutes. I expect better from most restaurants. Just disappointed. I won't be revisiting. Not worth the risk to have such a long, unpleasant experience that still comes with a $100 bill. read more

Returned to Luna Lounge Sunday afternoon for a late lunch with a friend. He ordered the Cesar salad and loved it. I ordered the Cobb salad, and although it was tasty, I was surprised it did not appeal to my sense of sight. It looked like the ingredients were just thrown on the plate - I could hardly find the guacamole that I later found bedded deep into the lettuce. I am so very use to chefs gingerly layering the ingredients on the dish. Also, at the end, the waitress gave us 2 cappuccinos with only one spoon. Plus only gave us 1/2 the amount of coffee in each of the cups (actually served in mugs - ugh). We both found this to be a lack of creativity and service. Get it together Luna! read more
