It's like a spot to give your feet a rest after work and have low expectations and experience a great chill time. Mike the bartender is a busy body. Very hospitable, funny as heck and seems to be every where at once. He's also a bartender, counselor and card player in one. Very cool dude. We came on a random Tuesday and it was an odd combination of things going on. There was a taco lady out front, inside was a pool league game but also a DJ playing 90's rap/hip hop so it was dark like a club, someone playing video games and a kink vendor pop up out back. I saw 3 TV's but only one was playing any sports. Service was a little slow, they had 2 bartenders but they both stuck to the same end of the bar. They were also out of Coronas and Modelos. They do not serve food but it looks like they do have food vendors come, the one there that night was not good. What she called tacos was not. It was a mini quesadilla with the meat sprinkled on top, not even inside and it was insanely salty. The biggest turn off for me tho was the ginormous cockroach I almost picked up thinking it was dart tip. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I came here for a peaceful night out, paid my tab, tipped generously, and was walking out when the bartender, who was drinking on the job, yelled at me and accused me of not paying. Despite offering to review the cameras, I was harassed, physically assaulted by the bartender, and then jumped by multiple patrons, including women who threw fists, chairs, and barstools at me. I stayed under the cameras to wait for police, who did not arrive for nearly three hours. Instead of deescalating, the owner showed up and sided with the bartender, refusing to acknowledge the truth even though the cameras clearly would have shown I paid. After I posted a review, the owner retaliated by posting my photo on their Facebook page with false claims that I attacked women and beat up his staff, which has now led to online harassment and threats. This place is not safe, not professional, and clearly not accountable for its staff or patrons' violent behavior. I will never return and strongly advise others to stay away. read more

Cool bar with a bunch of fireplaces inside. They've got darts, and usually have someone doing food around there. Cheap and tasty drinks, sometimes they have a DJ with music. I've been there many times, am always served quickly and the bartenders are friendly. read more

Unintentionally found this place and I'm glad I did. I came in on a Saturday afternoon just needing a drink. I walked in alone feeling a bit intimidated because it was a much older crowd and they were mostly coupled up. As soon as I approached the bar, the bartender Lisa asked my name and shook my hand, then introduced me to everyone there. I immediately felt welcomed. To keep this short, people there were great, best Bloody Mary, free food, plenty of parking, two pool tables, darts and a nice patio in the back. read more

I really can't say nice things about this bar. They have heavy pours, FREE -homemade food every Saturday (that's actually really good!) and super sweet bartenders and patrons. Older crowd, so very mellow. There is a large private parking lot.. You won't ever have to worry about parking here. Drinks are very inexpensive, the bar itself is very comfy.. Lots of seating, nice atmosphere. Decoration is on point, I almost feel like I'm in a ship or something.. It's cool. Ceilings painted black, dim lighting.. Great date night place! We had no idea what to expect as we wandered in Friday night. We were doing an event in the building next door (The Skeleton Key Escape room) and had some time to kill. We found a dive for sure! The patrons were very friendly, greeting us and introducing themselves. The bartender made our drinks quickly and deliciously! We had a few pain in the behind drinks you don't get orders for at a dive bar often (Manhattan, Grape Vodka Press, margaritas) and they made them without complaint :). There was an off duty bartender who came to introduce herself (Jessica) and after learning it was my bday she brought me back a shot and wished me a happy birthday. She was very friendly and let us know of other fun they have at the bar (really- catch her on a football Sunday- she makes food)! There was a DJ playing lots of variety of music, they have tvs and pool tables too! We had a great night! Really enjoyed my bday celebration! We had so much fun we went back after our escape room and stayed til near close! Great local hang out with good people who are really nice and friendly! Not one issue the whole time we were there! First off the Cinders Bar is boring and constantly empty. It's Definitely not worth your time and money. The people there usually start conversations they can't finish and end up causing drama for others. There's fights and the security sucks so if you get in a fight with someone your on your own. There's No protection for the people that visit the bar and there has been shootings and stabbings outside. The bar tender is over dramatic and doesn't really care for conversation unless he's talking about someone else's life or there own drama. All together the Cinders bar is one of the worst bars in sacramento because of the drama that comes with it. Don't waste your time and money on a place that doesn't care about there customers safety. read more

The Cinders Bar - Best watering hole for miles - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Sacramento, California

When this first opened, I really liked the vintage mountain lodge vibe! The drinks were great, and it was just a cool laid back atmosphere with none of the crap that comes with most bars. BUT, that has changed. The little room with the furniture set up has become a pool table room. There is still some furniture set up in a corner, but nothing like what it was. They have also (inexplicably?) removed a list of signature craft cocktails. Those were always so good, and fun to try new things. Now it's just a beer list, and the bartender doesn't know how to make basic cocktails. Although I do have to say he was very nice and courteous and came around to check on everybody that wasn't sitting at the bar. My guess is they decided to change to cater to a different crowd, which I understand if that brings in more money. Disappointing though. read more

This is not 5 star fancy, but if you don't mind life at its fullest, this place has a fun experience to discover. We ended up here because we were early to another event. We saw a bbq outside and thought maybe we could grab a quick bite and head over. Turns out they only bbq on Sundays and the bbq wasn't ready yet. We had a bloody Mary and decided we would come back later....the bloody Mary's were top of the line: asparagus, green beans, onions, olive, lemon...delicious. We came back later for the bbq. I am so glad we did! The trip tip sandwiches we amazing!!! Turns out the bbq is cash-only good to know- we had cashed stashed away but wasn't planning on spending it yet. The bartender was super awesome. :) Lots a fun and good memories. I think I will come back just because this deserves to become a tradition. read more
