Sunday, 1/22/2023 - We decided to play some pool at Players Pub in Fair Oaks. Address is 9729 Fair Oaks Blvd, Fair Oaks, CA 95628. When we arrived, there were plenty of parking. It was easy. Upon our arrival... Pros: 1) people here all minded their own business and played their games with their group. No issues. 2) there was a bar you can get drinks. 3) plenty of pool tables. $1.50 each game. 4) I saw pin ball machines, basket ball machine, electronic dart board games, ping ping table, etc. Lots of games to keep you entertained. 5) you must go to the bar to get your quarters. I didn't see a change machine. 6) it was a nice evening to enjoy a few games with my GFs. It was quiet here. Cons: 1) no cons! Conclusion: I liked this little pub. It was cute, had plenty of games, bar to get drinks, plenty of parking, and right off of Sunrise. read more

It used to be fun going the there... my problem with the tables only got worse and worse the rails are wore out and the new felt is awful. Tables are slow and they wont let you bring your own ball they have terrible cue balls no bueno read more

05/10/2025- I went to the upstairs players today. They also have another one that's on sunrise. We got there and ordered a pitcher of beer, and then some food. Mind you, the food comes from the other players so they have to place an order and have it delivered, which they charge a delivery fee for. I placed my food order and it took 1 hour 45 minutes to get there, I paid $45 for an order of calamari, a very small garden salad, and hot wings. The beer tab was completely separate. The ranch dressing that they gave was sour and disgusting. The wings were breaded and soggy as well as cold. The calamari was rubber. You can tell that they buy it frozen and then just heat it up. Well, I don't even know if they heated it up because it was ice cold when I got it. they told me that they would have to wait until they got a bunch of people to place orders before they would deliver it so, I assumed they would still bring us hot food but I was absolutely wrong. That food probably was cooked 45 minutes before they dropped it off. save your money that was so not worth it. Don't order food unless you're smashed. The food was disgusting, and the bartender with the long beard was rude. The whole ambience of the place just threw me off and I've been a long time patron of this business. I haven't been there in about a year and a half but I have been going there since at least 2013 off and on. read more

Total Dive bar. My first time here was in 2012. At that time I hung out with my present love interest for the first time at Players. He invited me there for a drink with him and his buddy. We played pinball and basketball and maybe even some pool (It was so long ago to remember). I recently (within the last few years) moved down the street, and have come here to enjoy a nightcap. The prices have increased, but the pour is good and it is a safe and low key place to kick it without the hype of crowds. read more

Amazing Food which is brought from the lower sports bar every hour! As far as service goes it doesn't get more friendly and nicer than here, Joyce is my favorite bartender always greets you with a smile and has great conversations to complement her amazing drinks. I definitely liked this place at first but the more I started coming the weirder it would get . I'm a black woman & I came here with my white bf , and the people inside that place were RACIST ! Talking about I shouldn't be here just a lot of weird behavior, then the bartender took 2 HOURS FOR 4 tacos that come from up the street . Just horrible . We tried to call and let the manager know and they never called . So yeah UNPROFESSIONAL AF & EXTREMELY RACIST made me super uncomfortable. read more

We stopped by for a drink and something to eat. My friend and I had been for a long ride on our motorcycles and wanted to maybe play some pool and have a couple of drinks. We had been to the pub on Sunrise and decided to give this one a try. The food here has to be ordered and then the order is sent to the other bar and then picked up by an employee and driven back over to this one, kind of wierd. We decided to skip the wait. We only had one drink and did not feel comfortable at all, lots of regulars that talk loud and if you are not one, the service was slow. When we left the bouncer came over to where we had parked our bikes, (Harleys) and told us that when we came in the future to park our bikes out back. This request seemed really odd. I asked why and they said it was because someone might mess with our bikes. It was obvious that they did not want Harleys parked out front. They do not want the neighborhood to know that bikers are in their establishment. That won't be a problem from this biker, I won't be back. read more

I have been coming to this location on and off for a few decades now. Always been a decent place with a good pour. On a recent visit I was told cash only! - new to me. I could also visibly see my unkempt bartender serve others using cards and touching his facial hair repeatedly. So what gives?! Just an unpleasant and off-putting experience. This location is tricky. Depends on the bartender if you get a good drink. They say they serve food but every time I've asked they always said it's closed. Bartenders don't really pay attention to you though. My experience we've always been ignored for a good 5-10 minutes even when not busy. read more

Came here last weekend with family and friends for a kick it spot in the local Sacramento area. This is a place for adults to have a good time with a decent sized crowd. There are several games and entertainment including shuffleboard, darts, basketball hoops, and pool tables. I believe they also have karaoke nights which is always enjoyable. Had a couple of mixed drinks and a few shots! I really liked the sex on the beach drink! Very sweet. Make sure you bring a few quarters to play the games. So where can a woman over 30 go for a decent drink, nice crowd and good music? Not here. This is what I can't stand about living in the 'burbs! You have to drive for miles to find a semi-decent watering hole. Anyways, this Players has been around for years! Came here on a Thursday evening not sure what to expect. My younger brother used to hang out here with his skater friends back in the day. He's not as snobby as me when it comes to bars, and generally I avoid spots he would hang out in. However, I figured what the heck? It was a young-ish crowd. Exceptionally loud the other night. Fist pounding, yelling across the bar, hooting and hollering, random make out sessions next to me -- it was all happening. I don't play pool or any bar games or watch sports. You may call me boring and not much of a dive bar connoiseur, but I go for ambiance, unique cocktail menu, good music, trendy canapes and a killer wine list. So maybe that's why Players was just a-ok for me. The bartenders were spot on with their game. We were well looked after and they looked like they were having a great time! I would totally recommend this place for a fun evening. I've been here several times, usually meeting a group of friends. Sometimes we have a large group 15 or so and we are always well taken care off. Waitresses are very friendly and fun and always keep your drink full, assuming thats what you want and I do. The bartenders are hit and miss I've had really good drinks and then watered down ones all in the same night. So it pays to get to know your waitress and make sure she has the good guy make em. My girl totally made up for it when I got one that seemed a bit weak she had the next one extra strong. Games are fun and there is a variety so everyone will find something they like. Bring some quarters and loosen up. I've also just come in to have a drink and not hang out and drink all night or play games and it was a nice place to just sit and visit with friends, depending on the night. Had my first hot damn & realized just how rusty I was shooting pool. Once we figured out the whole dry erase board "line" for a table, we had a great time. FYI, if a pool stick is lying on the center of the table - it's taken, no matter how long it's like that. Oh and don't touch the dry erase marker - I thought the security guy was going to tackle me! There were a ton of aspects to this place that I wanted to experience. I got a little "too jolly* - too quickly and forgot to check them out. They have hoops, darts, even air hockey. I've been coming to this bar for many years. If you're a Del Campo graduate as myself this bar has probably become a favorite on your list as it was on mine. Those thanksgiving get togethers where you see lots of old friends and many generations of Del Campo graduates are priceless. I typically have great experiences at this bar. From the friendly staff to the great service it usually leads to a fun night. The bar typically seems to draw a friendly mellow crowd which is a plus for sure. So now by this point you're probably wondering why I'm giving a 1 star review... I went to Players last night to stop by for a friends birthday. My plans were to say hi, have a single drink with my friend then call it a night as I knew I had an early morning planned. All went as planned for the most part aside from the customer service. As a business manager myself, I realize the importance of customer service and how it can highly impact the success or failure of your business. "A brand for a company is like a reputation for a person, you earn your reputation by trying to do hard things well." - Jeff Bezos- Personally, I find customer service as a goal quite easily accomplished in most scenarios but last night, the bar tender who served my group obviously doesn't feel the same. I stuck to my one drink and left early as planned but my experience was far from what I expected and what I was typically use to at this establishment. I ordered a round of shots for myself, the birthday boy, and 3 other friends. The bar tender was a little "edgy" but I didn't take offense. I was completely sober and as I was ordering the shot and he didn't go overboard with sarcasm so it was no big deal at this point. After ordering the shots I proceeded to ask for a chaser. Sorry, I'm not a professional drinker so when I take a shot, yes I need a chaser. Jameson... My preference of liqueur when taking shot and what I ordered is known to be chased with pickle juice. I can't stand pickles so I looked at the counter, saw a can of pineapple juice and asked for that as my chaser. Mr. Bartender, if you're reading this you now know who I am. After ordering the pineapple juice the inconsiderate childish bartender decided to make fun of chaser choice with a friend and a cocktail waitress sitting at the bar. They sniveled, laughed, made snide comments together and looked super cool while they did it. Man I wish I could be as cool as you three one day!! #goals!! I did ignore the terrible customer service, politely said thanks for the drink and brushed it off as personally I prefer to not let ones ignorance effect my day. What pushed me to write this review and do whatever else is necessary to correct the dishonesty from my visit was what happened when I checked my bank account this morning. Childish behavior, ignorance... Some traits people have and just can't help it. If it makes you feel better to put someone down then please, make fun of me. I can take it. Dishonesty and stealing though, I have zero tolerance for!!!!! As a loyal regular customer who speaks highly of your establishment I expect a certain level of customer service. Why are there multiple charges on my account? I ordered one round of drinks and left. Are you having trouble with bills? Tell me, I leave some extra money on your tip. I seriously would!! Don't steal from me!!!!!!!! Because of yesterday, my 15 years of loyalty and speaking highly about players is 100% gone! I would never feel comfortable coming back knowing bully thieves are now the face of this establishment. I'm currently waiting on a call back from a very polite voicemail I left because getting through to talk with someone is not an option on there automated system. I'm just gutted to hear of the death of one of your patrons last night. This should be a wake-up call for all of us that the safety of someone imbibing at your bar should extend to making sure they are going to make it home safe, and not flat out passed out in the street to be run over. read more

I was there last night, Thursday. The place was pretty quiet and I liked that. Plenty of pool tables at $1.50 a game (not bad). There was music playing very low in the background. The guy behind the bar was very nice and the people there last night were not too bad either. I had been to this place 3 or 4 times about 8 years ago and I didn't really notice any changes. I had not played pool in about 7 years. AND IT SHOWED! I played 5 games and had a great time but I didn't do so great. I had a few drinks and started to get a little better (maybe that was all in my head). Maybe if I stuck around a little longer I would have kicked some major butt. But by then I would have been so loaded I probably wouldn't have cared if I was hitting the balls with the wrong end of the stick. read more

Look at your bill closely. No business should take it upon themselves to round your bill. I bought a drink for $5.25 and tax brought it to $5.67. My change was 25 cents!? Doesn't add up. I brought it up to the bartender (Samantha) and she said she could give me the difference if I was "that miserable about it"... How much money have they made off people that way? Inappropriate. She then continued to say that the rounding system works in favor of some people and not for others. I just ordered an unfortunate choice. Wow. Really cool atmosphere here! I love all the sports memorabilia on the walls. There is a air hockey table near the back that is reasonably priced and we had a blast trying to beat each other. The bartender seemed really friendly and made me a tasty drink with vodka, cranberry and Red Bull that was good and strong. There were lots of pool tables and shuffleboard. One feature that I especially appreciated was the outdoor lounge area where you can bring your drinks and have a smoke, that seems pretty rare for most bars. I met up with a friend here yesterday evening, and I was quite pleased with just how much this place had to offer. (Note: This is not the same as Players Sports Pub and Grill.) First off, if you're a sports fan, you'll be a happy camper. There are TVs (albeit small ones) throughout the joint, so whether you're an A's fan or a NASCAR buff, you'll be able to view your competition of choice. Second, there's a ton of games to play, including pool, darts, shuffleboard, air hockey, basketball, and a couple of video games. My companion and I made our rounds and enjoyed just about all of them. Not a game fan? Poke around the CD jukebox and play some tunes. It's definitely difficult to be bored here. The staff was quite nice. The waitress checked in with us but didn't bug us because we weren't drinking much. The bartender was quite nice too. We went on a Tuesday night, and it wasn't overly crowded, which I like. Dunno how it does later in the week or if it will meet the needs of those seeking a meat market. The only real drawbacks was the limited food options. I think you can order Round Table pizza, but I didn't see any other snacks, save for a snack vending machine in the back. But if you and some buddies are looking for a fun, chill place to hang out with for some drinks, games, and some sports-viewing, definitely check out Players Pub. read more

The owner at this establishment is awesome! !!! After showing our IDs, we realized one of our friend's gf knew the owner and we were all briefly introduced with open arms and genuine players pub hospitality. I dunno what it was, but we got the vibe that everyone here was family. There was no discrimination or judgment what so ever. The place was clean, professional, and somewhat family oriented. They have several basketball hoop arcade games, 5 dart lanes, 8-10 pool tables, a lot of TV's, jukebox(s), and best of all, a PING PONG TABLE! We basically had our own balls of fury tournament with the regulars and i was amazed that the pool players here are actually solid ping pong players. The ping-pong table was purchased three months ago and has become the main attraction. In other words, the ping pong table was crowded by ping pong ringers and hustlers. If i had to go to a pub and catch up with friends this would be the place to go. One--drink prices were reasonable; two-- food was great; finally, every pub has a unique factor and this particular pub has a PING PONG TABLE! There needs to be more ping pong beer pubs! read more

This place is really cool (literally - I think the a/c saved my life when it was 108 degrees outside!). Seriously though - its a very friendly neighborhood bar with pool tables and food and great bartenders (Shay & Kaylee are really friendly & pour a great drink too). It's just about a block West of Sunrise on the North side of Fair Oaks Blvd. Sunrise is crazy busy, but this spot is so laid back & quiet its like another world. The music's playing but its not overwhelming. This is a nice cool place to hang out. All the customers are treated like family and you will be too... just as soon as you walk in. :) read more

Went here for the first time last night and had a blast! Tons of games to play, pool, shuffleboard and darts just to name a few. The atmosphere is very kick back! I especially enjoyed that the music wasn't so loud. There have been many times where I have been to bars where you can barely hear the person next to you because the music is blasting. We ordered 2 cocktails and 3 beers and our total came to $27 seemed like a great deal to us! They even had Negra Modelo beer on tap! Our waitress Brooke was fantastic! Very attentive and friendly! I went this place on Dec 19th Saturday to play darts. I am a local dart player, i was playing an online league match and reacted to the game and put my glass on table faster than i suppose to. In the middle of the game Server came and ask me rudely to wrap it up. After i finish my game walked down to the bar and i told her not to distract a dart player with an atttitute.. And bouncer with no respect kicked me out of this place. I was sorry not being able to express myself. All this folks gathered on me... The owner of this place should be more picky on hiring a crew not a pr!cks! The Other Location on Sunrise has decent workers, i always enjoyed being there.. It's St patty's eve, the bar is busy, but not any busier than I have seen before. I can't get the bartenders' attention so I ask the bar back what the drink specials alluded to on the board are. He says "ask these guys (the bartenders)," so I wait... And wait. Finally I asked the bar back if he could get me a soda water while I wait, which he does, while I wait, and wait. Finally with the two bartenders backs to the bar that they have served twice around me, I get up to leave, the girl next to me (who got served, though still inadequately) yells at the bartender (twice mind you) who finally comes over and asks, "what are you feeling?" "I'm feeling sick and need to go home." Dehydration will do that to a person. *this is a somewhat extreme, but not at all atypical experience for me at this bar. Even when I am getting taken care of because I am with a regular I still see this happen to other people. I need to stop letting my friends who happen to live at Sunrise and Fair Oaks drag me here. Fool me twice shame on me for being too drunk to remember that first time. read more

I have been going here for years. It is a very friendly atmosphere with a long term staff and owners of over 30 years. The owner Jeff Welch goes out of his way to get to know new customers and he makes his regulars feel like family. He also has some great food on his menu. read more

Players is a great launching pad for pregame drinking activities. On the other hand we have started at players with that intention and stayed because there was so much fun to be had. There is so much room for activities!! There are a crap load of pool tables, dart boards, couple of shuffle boards and my favorite... the basket ball game(from which I dominate the local patrons). The crowd is friendly, laid back and always down to have a good time. Great music selection on the jukebox. The drinks are priced on the high side, but that is made up for by heavy pours by the barkeep. This remains one of my favorite bars in the area for good reason. read more

I wish I could give no stars. Their manager said quote on quote, "I am not going to help her because she doesn't tip." I had only bought one drink but it is funny as a African American woman, I am unable to get a drink because I don't TIP. I didn't know that you can not get service because you don't tip and he did not help me and told me to go down the bar while he helped other customers. The manager said this and he didn't know what I was going to do, I was gonna tip but I couldn't get a drink. I felt racially profiled because the manager didn't treat anyone else like that but me.
