Went here for the 1st time.... NEVER again this place stinks, and it's dirty. The Bartender seemed friendly and helpful. It had a handful of regulars, you could tell cause they all knew each other. I honestly could not get over how dirty it was I did not want to sit down the chairs were so stained. I will not be back, its ok to be a dive bar but that dirty and stink is not. I really think the health dept needs to take a visit. read more

I can't believe I haven't done a review for this place yet... how could I forget?! This is a great dive bar for sure. Everyone knows I love a nice AMF and this place does it for me every single time I drop in. I always tend to sit and chill at the bar, but if you want to play pool or darts they do have that too. I have always enjoyed the staff, there has never been a time I've caught them unfriendly at all, they're actually quite welcoming. I've met Johnny, and he seems like a very friendly guy. I used to come in here a lot when I lived over in the area, and tend to try and drop in even if it's just for a quick AMF. This is hands down my favorite dive bar in the Carmichael area if you're looking to have a delicious drink and hang out. Definitely one of the things I enjoy most about Carmichael. read more

OMG... Stepped into Dive bar heaven. Slow Wednesday night with 9 regulars. Plenty of sports TV's scattered around the room. Sitting is limited as there are plenty of pool tables and dart board area to keep you on your feet. Bartender is a "Babe", great mixologist and friendly enough without being a nuisance. I believe her name is Michelle and seems to be street savvy so don't think to put your game on her. read more

I am really not surprised that there aren't any reviews of this place already because each time (like twice) I have been at Johnny's, it has pretty much been empty. This place is a good size considering there is usually just a few people inside at any given time. There is usually a few older guys sitting quietly to themselves at the bar and maybe someone shooting pool. There is two pool tables, I think it's fifty cents to play. There is a jukebox and some strange prizes like press-on-nails and porn in the game machines. I have even seen a sign advertising their biscuits and gravy on Sundays.. The drinks are reasonably priced and the friendly bartender "Little Bit" (oh yes, I said her name is Little Bit) makes an awesome drink called an "oatmeal cookie." This place is clean, quiet and definitely not where the scene so to speak is at but it's a good place to go if you want to have a strong, moderately priced drink by yourself I suppose or actually be able to have a conversation in a bar. read more

We don't mind dark, we don't mind small, but we do mind dirty, and we do mind rude slobs. I also mind the idiots at the end of bar trying to impress everyone with their military knowledge when it was obvious they have never served a day.. It gets three stars based only on the decent pour. They have three pool tables, a few TV's and the Mrs says the ladies bathroom was acceptable. This is a very fun and friendly bar with great people and stiff drinks. Its a warm environment that has great Bartenders and a awesome owner. This Bar has awesome new dart boards and well maintained pool tables. This Bar is a host pool tournaments on Thursday nights and run dart leagues thru-out the weeknights. Its a good place to meet new friends and have an adult beverage and have some fun playing on the dart boards and pool tables and some arcade games. Oh, Johnny's! This is the definition of a dive bar, and sans almost getting shanked by a biker once, its usually a pretty chill dive! Cheap drinks, cheap pool, darts, and a jukebox.... What more do you need? Usually its pretty empty except for some regulars sittin up at the bar, and a couple randoms playing some pool. There's a pizza place next door, but they close early, and you probably wouldn't order from them unless you were drunk anyway! This is the type of place you bring your mistress, not your first date! ;) read more

Stopped in for the first time last Thursday during football. First, the positives: there was plenty of seating because the place was damn near empty, so it's a good thing I had my choice of seats. Next, the bartender was very polite and attentive, but considering there were hardly any other customers it's not too hard to pay attention to the few that you have. Happy hour prices are decent, I only had bottled beer and shots so not sure about her drink mixing capabilities. As for the negatives, there was a group of older men sitting at the corner of the bar and you could tell they were regulars by their chatter amongst themselves and with the bartender. Some people just need to be more aware of their foul language and use of racial words in the presence of other people, while I don't necessarily give a shit hearing it, there was at least one other female and one non-white person in there who did overhear their conversation. It's people like that that cause people like me to review places like this, that group could be the entire reason things were/are so slow there. I don't want to be in a place like that when such conversations take place because at some point the wrong person will hear it and violence may be the result. There are many more better places to go in the area. The bar didn't feel very clean upon sitting down and the restroom smelled of piss. Beware the front door also, close it gently because it slams hard. In short, the only real good thing about this shit hole bar is the cheap prices. But I'll spend my money elsewhere. I didn't try the food but the have food 3 nights a week during football games. read more

Johnny's is a dive bar that wants to be a biker bar. It is a nice place to get shitfaced before you go out on the town to better more expensive places and it is a great place to drown your sorrows after not getting lucky on a saturday night. If you have all your teeth and can wear clothes that do not stink you are in teh top 10% of this place. It is a good time though. read more

I came here when a friend from SoCal was visiting. We didn't want to go downtown and I remembered seeing this place when I'd gotten pizza next door. The drinks were strong and bar staff was friendly. Don't try an order any fancy smancy drinks; just stick to the basics or go with barender's choice. We drove there, but taxi-ed home. I'm telling you, those drinks are strong! read more

I came here for the first time tonight on the suggestion of a friend. At first I had fun. We had a couple of drinks, played some pool, and just had a general good time. But later in the night I literally witnessed the owner of this bar (Johnny) fire the bartender in the most offensive and unprofessional fashion. From what I made of the interaction, Johnny left and called his bartender to ask if his girlfriend was still there. Apparently the bartender said no, Johnny showed up with another girl, and she was still there. Well, he got pissed, fired his bartender, refused to pay her on the spot and said he would do it tomorrow. As she was leaving in her truck, Johnny came outside and cussed her out calling her a slut, a bitch, and every other name in the book. When she finally left he was talking to a few of his male friends telling them that he wasn't going to get laid tonight because of her. I am thoroughly disgusted at his behavior, unprofessionalism, and total disregard for employment law. I will never go back again and I am reporting this immediately to EDD. read more

It's a dive bar and I loved it. Bartenders are way cool, and the beer is ice cold. Johnny is pretty cool once you get to know him. Johnny's has alot of regulars that seem questionable but just don't pay them any attention. Who knows I may be a regular myslef. read more
