    Clarified pumpkin Mai tai
    Faustine V.

This place has a divey vibe to it. The bartender is very personable and allowed us to sample the slushie drink to see if we wanted to get it. I ended up getting the clarified pumpkin Mai Tai because I am a sucker for pumpkin flavor. This was super tasty and had a good balance between alcohol and sweet. The bubbling over drink was cute the big bubble that pops. The drink was on the sweeter side, but still good. I definitely plan on coming back here to try their other cocktails.

Hell ya- I stumbled upon this super chill local high quality dive while on a late nite stroll...great friendly laid back scene- perfect for a friendly chat. Or more. The barkeep concocted his spin on a Manhattan and lit it up at my request!!! Great spot!!!

Pho cocktail - savory like soup but it's a cocktail. Weird but that's the appeal. Trust its good.

My husband and I stumbled in after a late night meal at Tank House on a weekday. There were only us, a couple of ladies, and one guy who played chess with the bartender. Quiet, intimate, with dim lighting and I liked that. Creative cocktails. I had the Pho one and it was highly memorable. Really want to come back to try their mocktails.

We decided to check this out on a Saturday night based on Yelp recommendations. The location is tucked between Goldfield and Sacrament Brewing- I can't believe how many times we have passed by without noticing it! A small green neon "tack room" sign was the only identifier on a space that otherwise looks like a random office. The interior of the bar fully leans into the equestrian/derby theme, very fun and unique. Space was also very clean. The bartender was super friendly and welcoming, and made some of the best cocktails I've ever had in Sacramento. Some of the drinks that we got: - Flameaway pho: featured shiitake infused gin and aquavit flavored with pho spices. The pho spice scents were very fragrant and actually complemented this drink so well! Highly recommend. - Vegan fizz: gin based cocktail with coconut, very refreshing and tropical, also highly recommend - Bee's knees: a classic gin cocktail with just the right amount of honey for a little sweetness. Would definitely recommend Tack Room for cocktails!

Tack Room is one of my go-to spots downtown. Drinks are reasonably priced, and I've never had an issue finding seating. The bar staff have always been friendly, and the drinks have been delicious, with rotating alcoholic slushies during the summer.

    Cute interior!

Finally checked the Tack Room off my list! After visiting San Luis Obispo, some random man we met at a brewery couldn't stop RAVING about the Tack Room, and I couldn't believe I had never been! This bar is something else! The interior is so unique (Derby themed) and the drinks are amazing! I opted for the Bubbling Over (with a very aesthetic bubble on top) and this might be the best drink I've ever had. It was sweet, tart, effervescent... everything I could've hoped for in my perfect drink! The husband got the Foolish Pleasure tequila drink and that was equally as good (and I don't even like tequila!). Neither were on the HH menu but they had a decent HH selection to choose from. Our second drink was the boozie slushie (HH) and it was apple pie flavored. We liked it! The bartender was also hustling as they were the only one there at that time. Great service and super friendly. Overall, we can't wait to bring some friends back! It's a cool place with great drinks and good service. What more could you ask for??

One of our best late night spots! They have added some new drinks since we last been and they were amazing. Great bartenders as usual and get vibe! The Pho cocktail is spot on and you can taste the labor that is put into this drink.

Pho cocktail and Pumpkin Mai Tai-- both get 10/10!

Came again with the hubby and once again enjoyed our drinks and the chill vibe. This place will likely become a go-to spot for us in Sac.

Beautiful hidden bar that looks like an office entrance from the outside. Love all the lounge seats, and huge bar area go sit and chill. The bathroom Was very clean. Drinks were delicious. Our Bartender Vincent was awesome at explaining the drinks and very accommodating with our request. The drinks he made was delicious and perfectly cold. Definitely a great spot for date night or just to chill with some friends.

This hidden gem is a cozy, a simple spot with a laid-back vibe and some of the best craft cocktails around. The bartenders are experts, mixing unique, fresh ingredients into every drink. With friendly staff it's a perfect place to unwind and actually hear your conversation. If you're looking for a low-key night with top-notch cocktails, this is the place. Try the pho cocktail.... Craziest combo but you'll love it. Trust me!

Drinks here are both cute & tasty. Different options both times I have been here since they have a rotating menu of specialties which keeps it interesting. I love the equestrian theme and the furniture is very comfortable.

I remember from the video they said this was considered a "bartenders bar",the kind of spot that that bartenders and workers in the industry would hangout after their shifts-I liked the sound of that. Walking up to where I thought the bar was located,it was kinda funny because it was just an innocent looking blue door with the words "Cocktail" along the side-doesn't look like much at all,I'd imagine I've walked by this place many times without thinking of ever going in-that was changing this time. When I walked in I 100% knew I was stumbling upon something special-it was a tiny place but it was overflowing with energy, not many booths in this bar and it may be the smallest bar I've ever been to but it felt special.Looking at the clientele I felt like I was with my people,it was so cool in there. This is the kind of place I would take my wife and any of my friends before a special night out and be it a dinner or a concert or a production at Safe Performing Arts Center and feel like it would set the right vibe for the night. Looking over the menu, they had some very interesting looking drinks, the wife went with a French 75($12.00)and I went with a Pecan Brown Sugar Old Fashioned($16.00)The bartenders are very friendly and super personable and really took their time and took pride in their drinks-I had never had an Old Fashioned quite like that one,but it went down super smooth-I loved i-I look forward to going there again asap. A coupe of things about this bar-they do only have 1 unisex bathroom,it was very clean. Also this place is so old school that they are a "Cash-Only " bar. They do have an atm in the bar in case you forget your cash. They have a big fish tank behind the bar that really put the room together nicely-I liked it a lot. In closing,if you ever find yourself in the Ice Blocks part of midtown and want to experience an awesome bar that feels very unique-head on down to Frank and have a drink or two-you won't regret it-I think I may have found my new favorite bar in all of Sacramento. PS-I loved talking to the bartender telling me how they don't carry Don Julio but have many varieties of Fortaleza instead-a true IYKYK moment if there ever was one-this place rocks.

They have a great selection of gin, rum, champagne, and whiskey, and I often lean on the staff for drink suggestions because they're really good at recommending something you might not normally order. A few times now they've pointed me toward a drink that ended up being a hidden gem. I've been here a few times and it's always a great time whether you're catching up with friends or doing a date night. The food is also surprisingly good and pairs well with the cocktails. It is definitely on the pricier side, but that's part of the experience. The restaurant is quite small inside with very limited seating, but the outdoor patio is beautiful. Be ready to likely sit outside, but enjoy the atmosphere. We started with the mezcal old fashioned and the cucumber jalapeño margarita. The mezcal old fashioned was a delicious smoky twist on the classic cocktail. The cucumber jalapeño margarita was refreshing, though a little sweeter than I expected and missing the spicy kick I was hoping for. The guacamole was fresh and tasty, but the portion was quite small and barely enough for two people in my opinion. The salsa was also small but it was absolutely phenomenal. The chicken tacos were excellent, with tender chicken that was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. The enmoladas were also fantastic and are a great way to sample Oaxaca's three unique mole sauces, each with its own distinct character. One thing to note is that the chicken filling is intentionally prepared very simply in traditional Oaxacan cuisine so that the mole remains the star of the dish. If you prefer heavily seasoned meat, this dish may be milder than what you are used to. Overall, everything we tried was delicious and offered a wonderful taste of authentic Oaxacan flavors. NOT THE FOOD: - no parking lot; only street parking. I went for a very early dinner (a little before 5p) so no problem with parking. Street parking was free as well (not metered). - the decor inside is very nice and in keeping with the type of food that's served. yay. - the inside seating area is fairly small... there's only 4 or so 4-top tables & a bar that seats 8 or so? There seems to be a lot more seating outside though. - Our server was nice and patient as we took some time to look over the menu. SORT OF ABOUT THE FOOD: - They have a happy hour menu Mon-Fri 3p-6p; check out the other Yelp pics bc I didn't snap a pic myself. - The entrees don't come with rice & beans nor anything else. what you see on the menu is what you get. as such, the entrees are not terribly filling. they really should just slop on some rice & beans so they can be sure that you leave feeling full. THE FOOD AND DRINK: - Classic Mezcal Margarita: this was a fine, properly made cocktail. None of that nasty "margarita mix" here. $9 on happy hour. woo! - Guacamole: umm.. disappointing... rather bland; though, not diluted with sour cream or anything like that.. just kinda tasted like mashed up avocados.. there was a sprinkling of some red powder on top that I couldn't taste.. I didn't taste teh mint, basil, nor jalapeno that's described on the menu. It also came out refrigerator-cold, so that kinda muted the flavors as well. But I let it sit out throughout my meal to try it after it had "warmed" up a bit, but alas... still bland.. it was served with some salsa as well, which was quite nice. - Enmoladas: this is a trio of chicken enchiladas with each of their 3 moles: red, yellow, and black. The red and black mole were great; the yellow was kinda bland (at least, in comparison). Unfortunately, the chicken in my enchiladas was super bland. It tasted like there was zero seasoning & that they just poached it? And, the pieces of chicken were pretty thick too, which accentuated the blandness... so, I kinda mashed it up as I went along so I could get that delicious mole flavor mixed in with the chicken. - Tlayuda: this is kinda like tostada. it was okay. not great; not terrible. just fine. it ate kinda dry... like it needed some sauce... and, some spice would've been nice as well. this one will not really fill you up; it's more of an appetizer. - Kid's cheese quesadilla: this thing is pretty small; it uses the same tortillas as the tacos, so it's not very big/filling at all, but at least it comes with beans and rice. so, while I loved the margarita and the mole, there was a fair amount of disappointment along the way. perhaps, I'll stop by again if I'm in the neighborhood & would like a nice mezcal or tequila-based cocktail and a small bite to eat, but I'll think twice about having a full dinner.

It is perfectly refreshing with that dry grapefruit profile, and it doesn't lean too sweet, which makes it super easy to sip. And the espresso martini was exactly how I like it. Not sweet, not overly milky, just clean, strong, and very drinkable. Delish. The atmosphere is also a standout. It feels like you are transported somewhere else the moment you walk in.
