It was the world cup and two different games were on so they asked which one we wanted to see so they position us to have the best viewing experience. Moved around tables for us! The server was probably the best server we had in a very long time. She immediately asked what to put in for the toddler so kitchen can start working on it as we all know kids need food first! Food for "a watch bar" was surprisingly very good. Chicken tenders were the star of the show. Pickle brined tenders with great sauce on top. We had hot buffalo. Came with side of ranch and didn't have to ask for it. Last time I had Nashville hot and wished that was still on the menu We sat outdoors facing nice big screens. Every time you turn your head you see the game. No action is missed. Cool vibe for family, friends

I was shocked that there still so many seats available. I thought due to there was a game prior that the place would be packed and we would be lucky to get a seat. They had 2 lines to get in, the VIP line and the regular line. The line was super slow even with 3 hostesses. They were seating everyone so that is what took so much time. When we got to the front of the line they asked up if we had reservations. I had no idea that this was a reservation type of place. Next they informed us that there was a $20 cover fee. I think that is per group not per person, but I'm not really sure. For $20 we were ready to turn around and go home or to another place that didn't charge. We were totally shocked that there was an entrance fee. We had no idea that they would do something like that. We've been here once before for a Sunday NFL game and there was no cover charge. Thankfully the guy in front of us asked if it was free to sit at the outside bar and they said yes. So, after we were informed of the $20 fee we took the lead from the guy in-front of us and headed for the outdoor bar. For free you'd think the place would be packed. Thankfully it was virtually empty. We had almost any seat to choose from. We grabbed the third table, which had the best view of one of the many TVs. We're so thankful that we arrived early. As time went on the place did fill up and soon it was standing room only and people were actually standing and watching the game. We gave up our third chair to a larger party that wanted to sit together, their group did block the walkway, but no one said anything, they just went around the other side of the bar or squeezed though which was difficult. We ate dinner before we arrived to save money. Though once you see the menu you have to order something as everything looked so good. I really wanted to get the cheesecake as it was the only dessert they had. If they had a hot fudge Sunday, I would have totally got that. Instead I let my husband pick as everything looked so good and it was hard to decide. He ordered something that I wasn't eyeing, but I trusted him in his decision. He ordered the CRISPY CHICKEN & CORNBREAD PANCAKE Sweet cornbread pancakes, pickle-brined and hand-battered premium crispy chicken tenders, honey butter, maple syrup. The sweet cornbread was amazing. I love the edges, it was so buttery. The centers were also good with the honey butter, but not as good as the edges. The crispy chicken was really crispy to perfection. And it came out so hot, I almost burned my mouth it was so hot. We really didn't use the maple syrup. We dipped the chicken it it once, so as we tried it didn't really enhance the dish. Next time I'm going to just eat dinner at Tom's Watch Bar as everything looked so good. Also I've read other reviews and people have really liked the food. I though they had some sliders, but I didn't see them on the menu. They did have a Prime Rib Dip, but that isn't a slider. Sitting outside in the bar was great for the price. It did get a little chilly and I wished I had worn jeans and brought a sweater. Next time I'll check the weather for the evening and dress appropriately. I did have a jacket in the car so my husband went back to the car for me at half time and he also grabbed our emergency blanket to wrap around our legs. That really helped. They had plenty of pretty clean bathrooms. It didn't smell really refreshed, but it wasn't bad either. They had I believe 4 stalls so if there were a line it would move fast. I went right after half time in hopes there wasn't a line and there wasn't. It is a little hidden, but they are good at pointing you to it. I thought it was on the way to the kitchen and it might have been if you went right as the bathrooms are on the left. Parking at the Downtown Commons (DOCO) typically costs $6.00 per hour, with every additional 20 minutes priced at $2.00, up to a $32.00 daily maximum. During peak events at the Golden 1 Center, flat event rates often apply, and nearby garages offer varying hourly or daily rates. It cost us $18 to park. It seems like you can park at the old Macy's parking lot for $15. That's so much a better deal, but it also seems sketchy. Is it legit or are people just collecting money due to it's an empty lot. I think the price of parking is really expensive. I think we should have walked as it was daylight going there and it would be daylight going home. In addition it wasn't too hot. So back to the $20 entrance fee. Knowing this I am hesitant to return. I do see the advantage of arriving early so you can get a seat outside so that isn't bad. Arriving 30 minutes early isn't too early so it's reasonable.

Had to be about 50 people (maybe more!) all in their main room and bar area. Yet service never wavered. My smash burger came out within 10 minutes. Cooked ready to order this burger was amazing. Great sauce. The meat itself was really flavorful. My onion rings were crunchy and not greasy. Loved them. Alot of people around me went with the wings and those looked and smelled really good. Spirits were high as the #1 pick came in. Of course the Raiders chose Fernando Mendoza, our quarterback of the future! Lots of Raider fans in attendance made the place pop with excitement. Clubhouse 56 feels like a neighborhood sports bar for East Sac but they also welcome everyone. The bartender, Natasha, was super friendly and patient with everyone. Parking here wasn't easy but I was still able to find a spot on the street in the neighborhood. Good to know about this place as I'll be sure to drop in sometime in the near future for a game.

She eventually came to our table and dropped off both regular and happy hour menus and asked if we wanted water while we looked over the menus. We decided on our drinks and we ordered the sampler. The drinks and the food were good and the arrive was good too. The seating area is very spacious and plenty of places to enjoy your libations. Next time I am in the River Park area I will stop by and try more happy hour items. The prices are great too!

Maybe if they were USA or more popular teams it would have been different. There were 4 people in the couch area, it was cozy so we didn't join them, but that was were the action was. No one in the bar area where we sat was into the game Seating- We arrived around 1pm just as the game was starting. The bar was nearly empty. Two parties were there sitting at the bar. One group had around 7 people, all in A's Jersey's. The A's were playing that evening at 7pm so these people were getting the party started early. We sat on one of the couple high tops. There was a tv right above us and was impossible. To see from our angle. There ware 2 TVs above the bar. One kept going in and out due to no signal, but the other one help up. We turned our chairs to face the tv so it was a great seating arrangement. The sound was not on for the TV so you just had to follow the game visually. Food- It's a pub so it's all pub food. My husband didn't want anything fried so that eliminated the fish and chips. That left us with a salad or a burger We got the pub burger for $21. It seemed kind of steep, but you're in a tourist area so that explains it. The burger was extra juicy at medium so that was good. It did lack flavor. It does help that it had pickles on it. That gave it some flavor. The onions were flavorless, but looked grilled. The menu doesn't say it, but it comes with fries. The fries needed more salt, but dipping them in ketchup helped the flavor. Now reading other reviews it looks like we could have gotten a side salad instead of fries. I guess we could have asked, but we didn't know it came with fries so we didn't ask for a subsitute. Bathroom- They had really nice bathrooms. You didn't have to go out side to the public restrooms. That was a plus especially since my burger was extra juicy and I needed to wash them. Parking- It's all street parking out front. Old Sacramento also has two garages that aren't that far. Depending on the day and the events that are gong on you you either pay by the day or by the hour. And don't lose your ticket as then you have to pay the maximum. If you are looking for a sit down place with pub food you've found your destination. This is one of the newer restaurants in Old Sacramento that isn't a white tablecloth type of restaurant. Which was a perk, because we weren't looking for fine dining this time. Actually we are never looking for fine dining when we go to Old Sacramento. The place was very clean and put off the new vibe. It's very nicely decorated. They even have a red telephone booth, a great place for pics.

It doesn't come with mayo, so I'm glad I added mayo, bbq, aioli sauce on side. The arugula was welted on the burger , I'm not sure how I feel about that tbh, I rather a different type of lettuce. In my opinion they only added the arugula to make the burger sound fancy so they can charge over $25 for it The wings were $20 for 10. They were crispy, large, sticky, and amazing! 10 outta 10! Right amount of glaze and so pretty The Gaelic fries were yummy, the fry portioning was super generous, the seasoning was great, the fries were thick & not greasy. I asked for extra garlic. However they could have been better had there been Parmesan cheese graded over it. So I'll ask for that next time. Fries were 8 outta 10 The lobster/shrimp pasta was absolutely NASTY. If you are seafood/pasta lovers then do not waste your $38 on this soupy, spongy noodle, salty, not enough spinach, couple pieces of tiny mushroom having ass noodles the brown sauce they use it PURE SALT, these noodles taste like the Oriental Manchren Top Ramen noodles ....the picture shows big lobster claws on the pasta..mannnnn we got 1 arm as shown on the picture, and maybe 6 pieces of unseasoned shrimp. He mentioned that he had ordered the chicken wings there before, and this time, the chicken was dry. My burger flavor was quite bitter. The way the greens were used in the burger was unnecessary and not well-executed. Instead of using lettuce, tomato, and avocado, they could have used a simpler combination that would have been better. The way the onions were cut was even worse. They were cut into thin, messy strings. The patty was also quite unpleasant. It was too much going on in a veggie burger. It could have been kept simpler. By far, one of the worst veggie burgers I have ever had. It was very disappointing. Please make better options for vegans and vegetarians. Thank you
