Best pizza I've had in a while, the Margarita pizza was like no other. The dough was thin and cooked to perfection had just a tinge of burnt crisp edges at the crust but soft and pliable for a nice chewing experience. Yellow and red heirloom tomatoes with basil and a balsamic, good lord that was good! Also easy on the stomach. Keep up the good work. Bushwacker Hazy IPA, nailed it. My husband and I have been wanting to try Mode Brewery for a while after hearing they make all of their pasta in house, and we're so glad we finally did. The back patio is really cute and dog friendly, which we love. We started by splitting a Caesar salad, and the dressing had a nice hint of lemon that we really enjoyed. My husband got the adult mac and cheese with added sausage and said it was great. I ordered the Italian Stallion on a gluten free crust and it was amazing. It had the perfect amount of sauce and toppings, and the crust held up really well for being gluten free. It's awesome that they offer so many gluten free options. Stopped in to grab a bite before going to a show. Unassuming from the front, The interior isnt very large with a kitchen and 2 small windows on right to order, and tall table down middle to sit, abother small room to left where they make the beer, and have them on tap, and stools against the walls for u to sit and eat. Out back is a vast pario area wiith plenty of seating, and a fountain. Surrounded by plenty of parking Ordered a Jamaican Me Crazy pizza (bbq, chciken, bacon , scallions, jalapenos and pineapple) and a Bushwhacker IPA. My son ordered some grown up mac n cheese. The service was great, food came up in short time, the gal poured my beer nicely without foam. The beer was crisp, cold and tasty. The Mac n cheese, while tasty , was a little vit of a let down. I prefer a more hearty cheesier type, and this was more of a thinner cheesy sauce type. We absolutely loved this place for takeout, but the food quality is really slipping. We order about once a week, as it's convenient and the food "was" good. I feel like they are resting on their laurels from their brewery and forgot about their food customers and giving them a good product. The last three takeout orders have been really bad!!!! My toddler and I stopped in to celebrate my mom's birthday since it's close to us and she requested it! We ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese, Beer Battered Artichokes and Vampire Slayer with Chicken. The pasta was peppery, but I watered it down and my toddler ended up loving it! We absolutely love Mode. It is close by and delicious! It is such a cute friendly location. There's a nice outdoor area with two giant beautiful trees that provide great shade. The service is quick and the food is generally good. My recommendation for food are the chips and onion dip and the Blue bird pizza. My goodness YUM. The pizza is like a chicken cordon blue style with the most amazing flavors- you don't even need a sauce to dip it in, and I'm a sauce girl. Very impressive! I also highly recommend the chips and onion dip. Wow it is GOOD! They have lots of other options for food too. Sometimes we get the fried artichoke, but it's been a little thick with the breading lately. If you can ask for lightly battered, I would do that. Also, bring back the fried asparagus! Yum! This is one of my favorite neighborhood spots. The outdoor area is large and relaxing. I love their fire pits during the winter! The pumpkin ale is one of the best I've had, and they have a rotating cider selection. I really appreciate how they're always doing events for the community like blood drives, pop ups, and charity events. This is a good-hearted, family owned business that I really enjoy supporting. I love delicious beer and vegan food, so put those two things together under the same roof and this is definitely a brewery I can get behind. As someone who doesn't worship at the altar of the IPA, it was so refreshing to see a variety of beers that included maltier styles as well. Of the dozen taps available when I visited, I tried the Globetrotter (Oktoberfest) and Pioneer (American brown ale) and enjoyed them both. The food at Mode is casual American-Italian. Small personal pizzas, paninis, and pasta dishes. I first learned of Mode during last year's Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge, so was happy to see that they still had many vegan options on the menu. The vegan polenta fries were perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and came with ample dipping sauces - I would definitely get those again to share. The vegan Great White pizzetta was fantastic! I'm picky about a sourdough crust and this one was spot on, as were the toppings. I highly recommend trying it. You might drive right past this spot and miss it, but don't be fooled by the little parking lot out front (there's a huge area behind the building). Inside is small, but the dog-friendly patio out back is where it's at. Several shaded tables make this an ideal spot for groups too. There's even a water feature - a large koi pond with water flowing through repurposed keg taps. Clever. I also liked how you could run a tab that was connected to both ordering food from the kitchen and ordering beer from the brewery, which are on opposite sides of the building. It's a smart set up and keeps the wait time to a minimum. I'll definitely be back for more of their beer (hellooooo Pumpkin Ale) and vegan food options. Check them out! read more

I was glad to see that they had other styles represented besides IPA: amber, brown ale, Oktoberfest. I enjoyed the latter two! The food was pretty decent! They had a number of tasty selections on the menu. Things are made fresh to order and are served up piping hot. The Vampire Slayer (garlicked) cheese pizza, in particular, is novelty cut in tiny squares so sharing around as appetizer bites is easy. The front of the brew pub is small, but once inside, you can see the spacious patio area out back. There are several/many wood picnic tables spaced apart with a nice water fountain feature central to the space. It's a good place for groups to meet up. This was my first visit, but definitely not my last. The combination of good beers AND good eats make returning here a no-brainer. Note: they close at 7pm on Sundays. read more

But the taller skinny guy (not sure if he's management or not) who typically pours the beer had a terrible attitude that last few time my wife and I visited and I usually chalk it up to stress and being busy. But tonight he was so incredibly rude to my wife and it just doesn't sit right. The guy should try some professionalism and candor if working the customers. What a great local brewery. There is a parking lot in front of the business and we were greeted right away. There is a small area for seating inside and a nice outside area where you can bring your dog. They also offer food so we ordered some food and beer. We got a couple of the pizzas and they were yummy. We got the Hog Wild and Vampire Slayer. The owners are so nice and we were talking about their beers and the food. We also appreciated they offer Nitty's Cider which is also good. I really enjoyed the Swashbuckler and the Pumpkin ale. We really enjoyed talking with a couple of the owners and you can see they are passionate about their beer and brewery. We bought a couple of t-shirts also as we liked the logo and QR code. What a find!!! Discovered this place totally by accident. Was looking for a dinner place with outdoor space so my kids could run around while we wait for food. This place was just that, and more!! We have been to Mode many times over the years and every time the food is excellent! My absolute favorite is the Short Rib Ragu and my husband loves the Polenta Fries. This is one of those places that really solidifies the rule that if your food isn't outstanding, your service better be. And if your service isn't great, the food better make up for it. Sadly, this place had neither good food OR good service. It was unwelcoming from the start, as both people working seemed irritated that there was somebody at the counter needing to place an order. I don't need an over-the-top greeting, but being made to feel like a burden because I'm patronizing their establishment was such an odd feeling. They weren't busy at all either, so it wasn't like they were overwhelmed. Both employees that were there are obviously the owners, and they seem completely burnt out. There was no joy in what they were doing, and they seemed miserable to be there. When I told them it was our first time in, they couldn't care less. If this restaurant was somehow their baby at one point, those days are long gone. They both clearly hate what they are doing at this point. We ordered salads and appetizers as well as a pizza. Everything came out at one time. I should say, everything was put up in the window for me to pick up at the same time. There's no actual service, but I didn't realize that until after I had tipped the 20% on and already overpriced bill. They just make your food and put it in the window and you go pick it up yourself. You also have to get your own water, which is room temperature. They don't clear your plates, they don't ask you if you want your food packed up, nothing The lettuce on the salad was warm as though it had been sitting out for a long time. It was limp and lackluster. After we ate a couple bites, we pushed it to the side. We tried the beer battered artichokes, which were OK, but super greasy. The flavor was all right, and if I had to pick something that was halfway decent out of everything that we ordered, they would be it. But they still were Just kind of OK. The pizza was terrible. I don't know how else to put it. The crust felt like those one dollar Totino's pizza that you get on sale at Safeway in the freezer section. The tomatoes on top were nice, but there's no way to enjoy good toppings when the rest of the pizza is really terrible. The sauce was bland, the cheese was bland, the crust was horrible, and there was zero flavor to the whole thing. It makes me really sad to see a place with such good potential so clearly headed for closure. I have to say if the owners were even halfway nice, I never would've left a bad review. But the food and the service being terrible, and it costing $50 after tip is just ridiculous. I can't support a business that doesn't care that I just put money in their pockets. If you guys are burnt out, just go figure out something else to do, because you are clearly miserable. And it's super unfair to take it out of your customers. read more
