Spaghetti Bolognese, Beer Battered Artichokes & Vampire Slayer + Chicken
    Rachelle P.

My toddler and I stopped in to celebrate my mom's birthday since it's close to us and she requested it! We ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese, Beer Battered Artichokes and Vampire Slayer with Chicken. The pasta was peppery, but I watered it down and my toddler ended up loving it! I've loved their addicting fried artichokes since they used to have their food truck and my mom enjoyed their pizza squares! For dessert we ordered the Nana's Ice Cream Balls in flavors Mud Pie, Caramel Apple Pie and Original(not pictured since to-go.) Their ice cream balls have a really nice crunchy topping, flavor and the ice cream is nice and creamy!! We enjoy them! This small, family owned brewery kitchen, is cool spot to visit! The previous food truck now sits inside the restaurant and they have a fun little game area for family night! If you sit outside, they have a nice intimate setting with heat lamps, a relaxing vintage beer tap water fountain with beautiful koi fish and giant Connect 4! Staff are helpful and restrooms are clean! SYOY!

Dear lord. The one guy who works here, tall, white-- his vibe kills the whole experience. If he's not a people person (which he clearly is not because we've been here many times and he's been the same every time) he should not be dealing with the people. Tonight was so bad, I'm not sure we'll be back.

Veggie and pet friendly place! What a great little spot to grab a drink, vegan eats and bring your pet to hang outside. The vegan pesto pasta was delicious! A great meetup spot for a group who loves hanging outside with their friends and pets!

We absolutely love Mode. It is close by and delicious! It is such a cute friendly location. There's a nice outdoor area with two giant beautiful trees that provide great shade. The service is quick and the food is generally good. My recommendation for food are the chips and onion dip and the Blue bird pizza. My goodness YUM. The pizza is like a chicken cordon blue style with the most amazing flavors- you don't even need a sauce to dip it in, and I'm a sauce girl. Very impressive! I also highly recommend the chips and onion dip. Wow it is GOOD! They have lots of other options for food too. Sometimes we get the fried artichoke, but it's been a little thick with the breading lately. If you can ask for lightly battered, I would do that. Also, bring back the fried asparagus! Yum! My two favorite beers are the blueberry and bushwhacker. They do serve wine and a few ciders and have sodas and water. Yum yum yum. Come here for good food, delicious beer and a relaxing atmosphere.

I went for the first time and it was a pretty nice place! Very nice customer service and clean place! They can make a vegan option of almost everything on the menu. Look for items with the They also have gluten free if you require that! I tried the Fettuccine Alfredo and they have some Polenta Fries that I really liked! There is an outside area in the back that is quite spacious and has a nice vibe. One of the most interesting things was there was some type of flash bingo game going on which involved playing samples of popular one hit wonders, which I enjoyed guessing. I definitely plan to go back!

Mode Brewing is a total vibe! This family owned business gives true meaning about the family that cooks together... You want to try Mode. You need to try Mode. This has become my fun hangout spot with friends, family, and it's a fun date night spot. What was a food truck, it's now all grown up into a cool restaurant. The interior has the cool side of the food truck as part of the interior. On one side, the brother (Jeff) is brewing up some tasty craft beer ! He knows his brew! The sister and BIL, (Randy & Tracy) along with "mom", are cooking up some delicious food. You'll want to order it all. Just do it! Everything is seriously tasty! Short rib ragu. This is a sin that it tastes so good. Pasta. Short ribs. Sauce. Mix that all together, and you won't want to leave. The Italian stallion. It tastes as good as it sounds. It's meaty. It's cheesy. It is perfection. Because dessert is a must... you will want Nana's balls. Mom knows dessert, and these fried ice cream balls will make you wonder why your mom didn't create these. Order 4. One isn't enough. Even if you're full. Craft beer. Good good. Good desserts. This is the place to try!

I love delicious beer and vegan food, so put those two things together under the same roof and this is definitely a brewery I can get behind. As someone who doesn't worship at the altar of the IPA, it was so refreshing to see a variety of beers that included maltier styles as well. Of the dozen taps available when I visited, I tried the Globetrotter (Oktoberfest) and Pioneer (American brown ale) and enjoyed them both. The food at Mode is casual American-Italian. Small personal pizzas, paninis, and pasta dishes. I first learned of Mode during last year's Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge, so was happy to see that they still had many vegan options on the menu. The vegan polenta fries were perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and came with ample dipping sauces - I would definitely get those again to share. The vegan Great White pizzetta was fantastic! I'm picky about a sourdough crust and this one was spot on, as were the toppings. I highly recommend trying it. You might drive right past this spot and miss it, but don't be fooled by the little parking lot out front (there's a huge area behind the building). Inside is small, but the dog-friendly patio out back is where it's at. Several shaded tables make this an ideal spot for groups too. There's even a water feature - a large koi pond with water flowing through repurposed keg taps. Clever. I also liked how you could run a tab that was connected to both ordering food from the kitchen and ordering beer from the brewery, which are on opposite sides of the building. It's a smart set up and keeps the wait time to a minimum. I'll definitely be back for more of their beer (hellooooo Pumpkin Ale) and vegan food options. Check them out!

I was glad to see that they had other styles represented besides IPA: amber, brown ale, Oktoberfest. I enjoyed the latter two! The food was pretty decent! They had a number of tasty selections on the menu. Things are made fresh to order and are served up piping hot. The Vampire Slayer (garlicked) cheese pizza, in particular, is novelty cut in tiny squares so sharing around as appetizer bites is easy. The front of the brew pub is small, but once inside, you can see the spacious patio area out back. There are several/many wood picnic tables spaced apart with a nice water fountain feature central to the space. It's a good place for groups to meet up. This was my first visit, but definitely not my last. The combination of good beers AND good eats make returning here a no-brainer. Note: they close at 7pm on Sundays.

The food was really tasty. They have a great gluten free menu and nice selection of beers and ciders on tap. The guy was super cool. The outside area was a great place to enjoy a meal and you can bring your pup!

Food: There is a nice variety of food options as well as a special that our server thoroughly explained to us. We started with an appetizer of Brussels sprouts and a shared beet and apple salad. We settled on the salmon and penne vodka pasta for our entrees. The Brussel sprouts were so good with small strips of bacon and a nice aioli to dip them in. The Salad was complex and excellent and our entrees were absolutely outstanding. Salmon was cooked to perfection and the pasta was delicious with the perfect tenderness (I don't care for overcooked pasta). The sausages in the pasta were great and the sauce was rich. After dinner we both had coffee and tried their butterscotch pudding and a lemon cheesecake. OMG were they amazing!! I highly recommend either of them. Service: We had an amazing server, Kim, who was thorough, prompt and fun. Our salad, entree, and dessert were timed well and we never had to wait too long. We brought our own wine and she kept our glasses full. For as nice a place that it is and as good as the food is, the prices seem reasonable. I highly recommend trying it out sometime.

Service was incredibly slow, and the restaurant wasn't full. It took a long time to get our food, a long time to get our check, and a long time to have the payment processed. Now for the food. The brisket was okay, not super tender or moist, but okay. The ribs were a bit dry and not falling off the bone. The BBQ sauce helped both meats, but the meat should be delicious on its own. The "garlic" mashed potatoes were tasteless. They were not cooked with garlic to impart flavor throughout the potatoes. Rather, a few bits of raw-ish garlic were stirred into the potatoes as they were mashed and only made it to a few bites. I needed to add salt (something I never have to do in restaurants). And I couldn't taste butter, sour cream, cream, or anything else that would have made them delectable. I brought leftover potatoes home and fixed them. The tri-tip chili was surprisingly pretty tasty. The garlic bread was also tasteless; I'm not sure they used real butter on it and there was absolutely no garlic flavor at all. Overall, the food was disappointing. With so many other restaurant options, I don't see us returning.
