Food - very good! Shared the deep fried artichokes. The batter was light and tasty with a hint of lemon. I had the French quiche pasta, which was fantastic and full of fresh ingredients. Husband and son both had the Creole Scampi. The one tiny bite I got of that was very flavorful. Nice selection of beers, ciders, and wines - a little something for all preferences. Service - friendly and so gracious! I love that it is family run. They treated everyone like family Ambiance- casual and laid back. We were fortunate enough to be there when the Bella Vista High jazz combo was playing outside on the patio as part of a fundraiser for BV's band program. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. As you walk in, you're warmly greeted by staff at the order window on one side and the brewery on the opposite side. Finally came back and was disappointed to see a clear decline in food quality. The short rib ragu was gooey and underwhelming, the Caesar salad tasted worse than store-bought, and while the Spicy Stallion pizza had good flavor, the crust tasted undercooked. They also didn't have ranch (which feels essential with pizza). On top of that, the staff was kind of rude. Overall, very disappointing and I won't be returning. read more

I went here a while ago for the first time after a long day at college and got their polenta fries and vegan fettuccine alfredo. Both were so good! The second time around, I got one of their panini's and wow, I was pleasantly surprised with the vegan bacon and the mix of different fruits and veggies, like arugula, roasted red peppers, and apple. Who would've thought an apple would go well in a sandwich! Plus, to top it all off, it had a chipotle fig spread was very delicious. I'm not sure what I liked most of the chicken Caesar salad & side of garlic bread to go.....the fresh romaine lettuce, the generous helping of chicken, the delicious homemade dressing or the tasty garlic bread (6 pieces). I was pleasantly surprised to get a recyclable container and not a styrofoam bowl. The bread was so piping hot, I couldn't sneak a piece on the drive home. The salad was large enough to share. I have lived in this area my whole life and I was so happy to see that this location was put to very good use. It's very clean, the owners are so welcoming and dedicated to service. We got spaghetti and meatballs, chicken fettuccine Alfredo and the vampire slayer! It was all delicious, the only thing we all noticed was that the pasta was a bit over seasoned. I enjoy going to Mode and having a Porter. The food is good, and the crowd is friendly. However, I went inside to fill my dogs' water bowl, and asked for help finding some water. Note: this is the second time I have been in the business. A gentleman in the kitchen gave me a sad/annoyed face, pointed to a black device around the corner, and let me know it was there. Not at all friendly, especially for a business that encourages you to bring your dogs. You could have tried a little harder, and perhaps made a loyal customer of my wife and me. read more

My wife and I had lunch at Mode this afternoon. I enjoyed the BLT-Bird, and my wife had the Beer Battered Artichokes. The sandwich was excellent. The batter on the artichokes was very light and tasty, but we noticed the oil in which they were cooked was somewhat old and left an aftertaste. I drank the Voyager IPA which was good. Although quite warm outside the overhead fans provided some relief. It appears that pasta is one of their specialties so if I return, I will try one of those. read more

Our go to brewery and lunch spot in Orangevale. The paninis, pasta, and pizzas are all great. The polenta fries are by far the best I've had and the marinara dipping sauce pairs perfectly. We've tried almost the whole menu at this point and nothing has been lacking. They also have a nice kid friendly outdoor eating area in the back. As a fan of the ale family of beers I am right at home with the selection on tap. The red, blonde, and porter are my go to beers here, but the pumpkin ale is also surprisingly good (I'm not normally a pumpkin person). Highly recommend. I've been here twice. It's a great local spot and should be supported. I give a maybe review because we are here two times. Both were take out. The first time the pizza was very good. I prefer a thinner crust but this was a tasty fresh made pizza and we enjoyed it. The second trip we got two pizzas. The bottoms were burnt on both. I'm sure we could have brought them back but we didn't want to drive back. So 50/50 on the food so far. It's a cool spot though and I would wager our second trip is not the normal experience. read more

Owner is the rudest person I've met so far in 2024. I can't believe the way she greeted me. I walked in to get dinner and was still wearing my business name badge on from work and she started lecturing me about me trying to sell her "something" after I said hello. I told her I was there to order food and she said "yeah just making sure." I told her never mind, turned around, walked out after telling her I would never stop in to eat there again. I won't be seeing you next Tuesday. Even if I was there to sell you something, you are ALWAYS an ambassador of your business. To customers, to the community, and yes, to salespeople. What she doesn't know is that I do business with hundreds of local businesses that may carry her product and I will absolutely share this experience about her brewery. One word - INCREDIBLE! What a fabulous, family-run establishment! We are so thankful to see this wholesome business open up after lots of anticipation. One side is the kitchen, designed with food truck vibes(where they started), the other side is a brewery! Together, they work in perfect harmony! Can't wait for your patio to be open in the summer. Honestly, I'm not much of a beer person, but I tried the 4 beers on tap and actually ordered one! My boyfriend loved the Red Ale and I loved the IPA, but went with the blonde that was also delicious! The food is to die for, no exaggeration. The Godfather Panini was hot, crispy, and had a generous amount of ingredients in the middle (unlike most places that serve paninis where the middle is non-existent in comparison to the bread). We split that and the Hog Wild pizzetta, because who could turn down pork belly on a pizza? Healthy amount of toppings and perfectly crispy crust. Oh, and had to try the beer battered artichokes that came with a yummy aioli. Great batter, very crispy - Just needed some ranch . We wanted to try the pasta, but thought these items would be good choices to share for our first of many visits. Then, after we ate, we learned that ALL OF THE PASTA IS HOMEMADE! ALL OF IT! (Everything on the menu is made from scratch) For such a reasonable price. (You don't even get homemade pasta from The Place, a fancy Italian spot in Roseville that is very overpriced.) They offer fusion style options as well as traditional options, and their wall of pictures can help when deciding. Everyone there was so friendly and hard working, and the ambiance is relaxed and comfortable. We felt like we were having dinner at a friend's house down the street. The esteemed Pasta a la Mode food truck has finally found an address. On November 30th, Mode Brewing officially opened their long awaited Orangevale location at 9110 Greenback Lane. I have been enjoying their food since 2020 and I am glad I don't have to track down where to find their food truck. I had to go to opening night and was glad to see the same smiling faces behind the counter and in the kitchen. It has been a long time coming to open up but you have to try them. The spaghetti with Bolognese sauce is my absolute favorite with an absolutely fantastic meaty and robust red wine sauce with just a touch of heat added. The pizzettas come in super tasty options with a variety of meat and meatless options Traditional pasta dishes, pasta fusion dishes, pizzettas, paninis, salads and appetizers are all featured on their menu. An ever changing menu, but never had a bad meal or a bad beer. We also had shrimp scampi and the Italian stallion pizza. They were gone before I could take a picture.
