    Martinez and a castaway.

A great spot and probably the best place for a craft cocktail in old Folsom. We occasionally forget it's there because it's upstairs, but that does give them the view. Occasional, if not more than that karaoke, and again great craft cocktails, good flatbreads, and a nice outdoor patio overlooking Sutter street. Not the least expensive craft cocktails you're going to get, but you get what you pay for. You know the drinks are on point when bartenders in midtown know about this place and praise it.

I had my bridal shower at Gaslight in the venue space and I cannot praise the staff and the venue enough. Kristen was so communicative, thought of everything, and made hosting the event such a delight. It was also far less expensive for a far nicer space than any other venue I researched! The rental fee included the tables, linens, set up and a bartended bar (food and drinks were an additional costs of course). The food was great the drinks were awesome and they even created a custom themed cocktail for me! I cannot recommend this spot enough for any special occasion! I hope to come back for the Speakeasy soon.

My friend and I came here to see her favorite local group band play live here during the holidays where we met up with much younger friends. She and I have never been here before, but we are both native Folsomites, me being born and raised in this lovely, what used to be small town, since the mid 60's. My favorite part of growing up here was Old Folsom and its charm and stores and restaurants. Once we walked into the building Gaslight Company was housed in, I knew I was in for a taste of nostalgia. Once you walk up the stairs, you enter the beautiful, cozy, long bar area and the seating area is very cozy, with rows of windows that look onto the balcony on the other side of those windows that look over the streets of Sutter Street. A very cool sight up there! The drinks....since I was the DD, I had their house made grapefruit kombucha (but it had a nice alcohol kick!) and it was absolutely DELICIOUS and refreshing and I'd go back just for that!! I wish all bars offered kombucha for those like me who love it!!!!! The food---we split a flatbread and it was super good and was full of toppings, cheese, made with love and concern, and we could barely finish it. The place gets pretty crowded and loud as the night goes on, but what fun, quaint, hip, place like this doesn't ? We really had fun night at this spot that really made me feel like I was at home again---even for this 60 year old woman.

This is the cutest restaurant located upstairs with an indoor seating area and great balcony patio. The food has the freshest ingredients and were so well prepared. We had the breakfast burrito, Greek chicken pita and the Cali Flatbread. The flatbread crust was delicious-not super thin and crispy like some restaurants serve and tasted homemade. The mimosa was so good-one of the best we've had and the Bloody Mary had the perfect blend of seasonings and spice level. Service was great-highly recommend

I had such a fun girls night out here! Gaslight has such a wonderful ambience! We were lucky and were able to get a table outside that opened up on the balcony overlooking Sutter Street! The owner was very friendly! The food and drinks were delicious! On Saturday night they had live music! Definitely going back!

Gaslight in Folsom is such an iconic spot! The speakeasy vibe is next-level -- cozy, stylish, and just the right amount of hidden-gem energy. The owner, Mark, gave us amazing service from start to finish, and the whole team made the night feel special. We ordered the Manzanita pizza (absolutely delicious) and kicked things off with a Bloody Mary plus their signature Princess cocktail. The Princess is unreal -- made with REAL peach juice they pressed right in front of us. So fresh, so unique, so worth it. Ryan behind the bar nailed every drink, and Kristin the barback deserves her own mention -- super on top of things, genuinely great at her job... and yeah, kinda hot . Between the iconic speakeasy vibes, the incredible cocktails, and the awesome staff, Gaslight is 100% worth a visit.

I never write reviews, however Gaslight Co. was the best venue to host my mom's surprise birthday party. Their service was exceptional, their food was DELICIOUS, and the ambiance was just perfect in the speakeasy room. Cristen was the best to work with, she replied within hours each time I had a question, and she made sure to provide all the best choices for food &drinks options for our group size. All of our guests kept raving about how fun and amazing the venue was! The owner was also so great with meeting all of our needs the day of with decorations and more. 10/10 recommend!

I wish we had been told about the speakeasy in the back. I've been here 3x now and this is the first I'm hearing of it. I'll be sure to check it out next time I visit.

You'd be forgiven for thinking you were in the wrong place or about to make a mistake and put yourself into a sketchy place. We looked around for a more "realistic" entry way not knowing the most realistic entry way is one that looks like a back door to a closed vacuum or furniture storefront. That's exactly the point. You knock. Immediately, the door opens. A man in a cowboy hat looks you over. He doesn't wear a name tag. He doesn't need one. He asks, "You have something to say?" If you've done your homework, and say the right thing, the door stays open. You're in. I do not know what happens if you do not have the word. What follows is less a bar and more a pocket of time. The interior is small but well conceived. The bar sits directly at the entrance, flanked by a few standing guests and several small tables. Beyond that, the space opens up into a lounge with seating for six to eight, and a longer bench-style area for a dozen or so. The walls are dark, the lighting low. It's the kind of place that feels like it remembers what Prohibition was, even if most of us never lived it. It felt like walking onto a movie set where we might be extras, and the main characters would enter and play out a scene. It was a perfect example of a speak easy in full swing. Even the glassware was legitimate. The decor is intentional. Books tucked into corners. Stags mounted on the wall. Nothing feels store-bought or trendy. It's immersive without trying too hard. The seats were not overstuffed contemporary types nor were the tables or even foot stools. They all looked like they came from a speak easy back in the day. About the only thing that did not look like the real thing were the patrons, as they were dressed casually, and of course the iPhones. I suppose that would have caused quite a ruckus during prohibition! Conversations are constant, layered over each other and laughter. It gets loud, but not obnoxious. There's a rhythm to the space that holds. My suggestion is to not go at 7pm on a Saturday and hope to get a prized table, couch or seat. Now, to the drinks. House Divided serves anything you ask for, but they lean into the theme. Classic cocktails done right. Throwbacks with historical lean. Creative new entries like lavender martinis that aren't just gimmicks. Each drink feels made by someone who knows what they're doing and takes pride in the process. This is not vodka-soda speed bar territory. It's craft, and it shows. I did not see a bottle of ocean spray anywhere, but what I did see were large glass bottles labeled with the juice or concoction held within. The little details are obvious! If I were to translate my usual framework:    *   Ambiance and Service: 4 stars (it can get loud and if you are here to have a conversation it will be difficult)    *   Quality: 5 stars- I had a simple drink - vodka and cranberry. With something "special" that the tender added. I don't know what it was, but the taste was wonderful! Way different than my standard go to!    *   Value? That depends on whether you're measuring price per ounce, or the fact that you just got to walk through a green door into another world. But in reality, 5 stars. Do I wish for more seating? Yes. Perhaps more quiet? Yes. But if it were those things, would it be the same? No. My guess is going on a Saturday at 7pm is going to be a bit crowded, and loud. That's my fault, and testament to their quality. Next, I found the staff to be great! Even the doorman gave it character, cowboy hat and boots and all! Great experience!

Who doesn't love the idea of a speakeasy?? We decided to head to Roseville in pursuit of a secret place. We found the secret door, knocked, and a young man answered. He asked for the password. Unfortunately I am not on social media and that's where you're supposed to find it. Bummer! I decided to use my own password. It worked and we entered the inner sanctum. It was a cool, smallish place with nice decor. The bar was the first thing we saw. I looked around to see a few tables and couches to the left. It was pretty early and there were only a few people there so we got a cozy little table in front of a velvety couch. I went to the bar where a burly tattooed OG bartender greeted me. I ordered an old fashioned and a raspberry lemon drop. My old fashioned was done very well. I'm on an old fashioned kick right now and love to try them at different places that look like they know how to make them. This one was really good. My friend wasn't so keen on her lemon drop, saying the lavender was a bit overpowering. We had another round and this time she had something different that she enjoyed. My second old fashioned was just as good as the first. It was getting later and more people happened to have the password and it was getting crowded. We were done, paid the tab, which wasn't bad considering how most speakeasy's can be pretty pricy. Overall, it was a great experience, the place was nice, friendly, and the drinks were done well. Give it a shot. Find the password, or use your own if you dare!

We each chose flights of wine to accompany our entrees. Despite including three wines per flight, the pours were fairly generous. Our dishes were perfectly prepared and came out more quickly than we expected, considering that the place was almost full. Our server checked back just enough and took care of any special requests promptly, even offering to exchange one of the wines (out of six!) that we didn't like for something better suited to our taste. The pace was leisurely which was fine given the good food and wine accompanied by the relaxed vibe of the live music. And the prices were quite reasonable given the quality of both the food and service. A dark-ish old school atmosphere added to its charm for us Baby Boomers, but even younger diners seemed to be enjoying themselves. As for us, we highly recommend it!

I've watched many people seat themselves at tables and leave 10 minutes later because no one asked them what they wanted. Yes, the decor is stuck in the 90's, but I actually like it. The double smash burger I had was excellent. The bun they use is awesome and they charred the patty perfectly. It tasted way better than Fleming's Prime Steakhouse burger I had last week, that's for sure. The thick steak-cut fries are awesome, too. Over salted but nothing a cold beer can't cut through. Highly recommend their smash burger.

If it wasn't for this "mission," there's a good chance I wouldn't have wandered in. I LOVE Sutter Street, but honestly I don't live nearby and don't have many reasons to come here. That said, I'm thankful for the mission and glad I dropped by. It's a super cute place and the bartender had a nice relaxed chill vibe to her. This is where I'd normally drop her name and give her kudos - but I didn't get her name. I thought her name would be on the receipt, but it wasn't! I assume her name isn't "Shift Night N" anyway, which would be weird - but that's what is listed for "server". Anyway... the burger... I liked it. I liked it a lot. I was not asked how I wanted it cooked (not expected or demanded by me) - but an observation that I toss in for comparison purposes. It was cooked to a solid medium, which is fine with me. Caramelized onions were standard - nice - but the tomato and lettuce were listed as 'optional' - and the bartender (Shift Night N) asked me if I wanted them. I opted in. The bun was above average - definitely a notch above the typical mass-produced buns often used elsewhere. I opted for sweet potato fries. They had good flavor. Personal preference-wise... I would have liked them to be cooked a smidge more. If/when I come back, I'll probably ask them to be crispy-er. Overall, thumbs up! I wouldn't hesitate to come back and try other things on the menu. #burgers
