Jan's Cocktail Lounge is always a vibe. The photos shown obviously was pre live music event. I go to sleep early, can you blame a girl? But, I have been to their live music events before and it gets crowded and fun! There has never been a cover charge. They have a cool patio with darts and overall just a nice spot for conversation. The staff is very friendly. I didn't get a chance to catch my bartenders name, but she was a lovely girl with red hair in a beautiful dress. She took the time to show me what's on tap and was very attentive even with a lot of people surrounding the bar at the time. I would definitely recommend this place. There is also a lot of parking as well as a liquor store near by for snacks post bar. lol. Thank you Jans for providing us with a great place to hang out! read more

Nice bartender that made a great old fashioned. Fun free trivia game to join and play on your smart phone in combination with a big screen. Came for a local band that was rockin the joint. It was a good time. read more

Love this place! Great neighborhood feel, fun crowd, great bartenders and KJ's - the drinks are responsibly poured of course but value is epic. If you like a fun place to go karaoke, play bar sports like shuffleboard or GoldenTee, this is great fun place/ I promise you want be disappointed!!!! read more

Only thing that is good about this place is the guy owner. The bartender in the dress is so rude I literally said I would never come back. She had no personality and was just flat out mean. Like, who are you hiring? She definitely didn't have a bartender personality and lost business. Do not recommend. read more

We are huge supporters of La Placita. After our meal, we frequently go over to Jan's Lounge for a drink. Lately, their is an older female bartender, that is rude and clearly needs customer service training. Her rude demeanor seems out of place and unnecessary. We are very active and mobile senior citizens and enjoy many different venues and people. This bartender is clearly a senior citizen herself. I'm surprised her attitude is that of treating customers as an inconvenience. read more

I am giving Jans a 4 star review i have been three times now FIRST was durring a Sunday morning i wasnt very impressed the older bartender didnt seem like she knew what she was doing, my drinks were sub par BUT Jans came with a fiery redemption We came in on a Thursday night for Line dancing and had an amazing experience the bartender was was this fiery lil redhead she was super fun, i then came the very next saturday and low and behold they have this other bartender whoms bday it was they handed out cupcakes my husband and i had a blast, to say the least we will be partying at Jans in the near future read more

We were out on a bar crawl looking for a karaoke bar. We were in Old Roseville at a bar there but there was an MMA fight going on and it was noisy. So we did a quick search on Yelp and Jan's Lounge popped up. Now our friends had come here before and wanted us to check it out since we had never been. Plus, they serve food and that was a plus. The place is ok, it has a large bar and lots of tables and a decent stage area. We ordered our drinks and ordered food as well. The food did take some time and when our first order of chicken strips and fries came out, we were quite shocked. It was burnt and dry. Then my friends pepperoni pizza came out and that was over cooked! I ordered wings too and guess what? That was dry and over cooked as well. We all agreed the cook needs to change the oil because it tasted like it. Although we were bummed about the food, we were having a great time singing and playing shuffleboard. Everyone was having a great time until one guy got into it with a customer, then the bartender, he gets kicked out. The same guy walks back in minutes later and apologizes to the bartender. Moments after that, the guy's buddy ends up getting in an argument with a guy. The biker guy is telling another guy to STFU but the guy who kept mouthing off is clearly too intoxicated to know better. Then I see the biker guy punch the drunk guy and that guy falls down in almost SLO MO. It was quite scary because the biker guy didn't stop even after the guy was down. So I grab my friend and have her come with me away from the action. After that incident, we ended up leaving as the cops came. After the bad food and the fight, I doubt we would ever go back. Disappointing since the karaoke was entertaining! read more

First off, the new owners have transformed this little dive into a top notch bar! He could be a plastic surgeon with how well he performed a face lift on this place. Stacy Calhoun was our bartender the night my girlfriend and I went in and she was fantastic! I've never met a more charismatic, entertaining, speedy bartender in my life! Karaoke on a Sunday with a fun crowd...gotta give a shout for Will...the best bartender (makes an honest marguerita) with undiscovered vocal talent--try out for American Idol please and show the world your Il Volo rendition! Will's regular fans are also the best people you could run into! Lots of fun on a Sunday. This place is not what it used to be. Saturday night, place is dead. Band playing is so loud. Acoustics are terrible in the place. Bartenders act busy even though there are 3 of them and only 4 people at the huge bar. So service not good. And all they have is small pizzas for sale from the back. read more

Jans is always a great time day or night there is always something going on from live music, to bingo, to karaoke and trivia. The bands are great and the atmosphere is awesome they have great bartenders with no drama you find at most bars Aspen and Marilyn are definitely my favorite bartenders. Definitely wouldn't pass it up. read more

We hadn't been to Jan's in a while, but stopped in the other day and had a great time! There was live music that was great. The place was clean and everyone so nice. Our bartender was absolutely amazing. Stacy was her name. She made me a few specialty cocktails, she is a true artist! Her bloody marybwas to die for... then I switched up to a margarita, and it was the best I've ever had! Stacybwas so entertaining and kept us laughing the whoke time! We will be back very soon. Awesome staff, events running pretty much every day. From bingo, to trivia, darts, to shuffleboard, and some great live music acts every week there's always something fun happening at Jan's! I went to Jan's to see my friends band "Boots and Heels". The sound (acoustics) were great, the band sounded awesome. The bartenders were very friendly and service was fast. They also have a lot of other things going on there like karaoke. I will definitely go back to see my friends band and maybe some other events. read more

Very friendly, clean bar with considerate and friendly staff. One of the best karaoke joints in the area. Older subset of clientele. "If it ain't Country Western music, it ain't music" philosophy reins here, for the most part. Fried & frozen food menu, and its offerings are sufficient, especially when you're starving and only have booze in your stomach. :-) Best of all (in my opinion), it doesn't have the "meat market" feel of many other drinking establishments. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays. If you're over 30, I highly recommend it! read more

Go early to get a chair. It's quite small. Bartenders are friendly. They do offer pizza for a charge and it's pretty good for frozen/premise baked. Not great ambiance but good live music and decent size dance floor. We had fun. Will go back. read more

This bar profiles bikers. Went in Friday night wearing my cut, everything was great shook the owner's and his wife's hand and thanked them for letting us in. Went back Saturday and the owner had flip flopped. The majority of bikers in our community are great people who do a lot of good in the community. lumping us all into one bucket is wrong. If you ride and believe in our culture and the good we do don't spend your hard earned money here. read more

This is one of those nice little places during the day where you can go in early in the AM, order a beer and not get judged. Then things start kicking once the sun goes down! My favorite bartender in the world, Stacy Calhoun, will entertain you while never letting your glass get empty. She is beautiful and energetic and I love her. Do yourself a favor. Visit Jan's Lounge in Orangevale and tell the prettiest bartender on the planet that her high school math teacher sent you. You will not be disappointed. read more

About eight years ago, I had a misunderstanding with the owner (now passed away), and was kicked out. A few months ago, I stopped by in the mid-afternoon for a quick cold one. No one I knew was there, no one who knew of the past drama. The bartender was very dismissive, and spent more time on her phone than engaging with customers. I asked if the channel on one of the TV's (which no one was watching) could be changed to sports news. I was told (RUDELY) they were set, and she would not change any of them. Though I'd already put the $$ on the bar intending to be her tip, I picked it up, making SURE she saw it, and left. I won't be back. read more

I enjoyed the company of my friends and the intimate and dark atmosphere. Service was all provided by one person from what I could see was working had to cover all areas. For a Thursday night, seemed crowded. Not sure why there wasn't more help.

It's a cute cozy wine spot with a nice selection to choose from. When we got here it was initially empty but soon people started to trickle in. The worker was really nice, we were able to sample different wines, and he was helpful in answering questions we had. The inside is clean, there's bar seating, tables, a small couch area, and seats in the window if you wanna people watch. The wine we tried was really good, I really liked their more tart white wines and the sparkling blue champagne. The inside was also nice and air conditioned which helped with the hot weather outside. The day we went they weren't serving any food outside of salads but the food portion of their menu looked pretty good. This place was super cute and I'd definitely come again!

There's three rooms/bar areas that each play different music and have a different vibe going on. The cover is typically $20 and they do have an atm on site you can use. One of the bars is cash only the others take card. Usually my friends and I go to the zombie room because the bartender there is super nice and makes really yummy fruity drinks. This room has tons of neon paint and funky decor, it's also where they have live music playing and an upstairs area you can sit in. The other areas are indoor/outdoor and they have seats outside on the front and back patio you can sit and smoke at. Depending on a lot of factors you might love it or might not. There's a big mix of people you'll meet here and there are some interesting individuals you'll meet. For the most part the music is decent, lots of space to dance, good drinks, and you can definitely make it more fun with a great group of people.
