Had some Friends and I come in for a Beer after riding OneWheels around Lake Natoma loop! While Fully enjoying the bar and calling it a night my ride was gone!! The bar took into action and got details of the individual involved!! Information was passed off to the Folsom Police Department and the individual was arrested and my board back 3 days later!! The person who asked us to call them regarding our review essentially explained that they are family of the owners and blamed the poor customer service on us. No accountability was taken. They were selling Jell-O shots through a syringe and the bartender told us that they don't reuse them and we could throw them away, so we decided to keep them instead. The worker claimed we stole from them even though the bartender said they were going to throw them away. This bar sucks and if I could give it a negative star rating I would. It gives racist. I would love to say how I really feel but that rude owner would probably delete this because she's probably scared. The business is going to get shut down again because of drugs however she accused me and my friend of doing drugs when we were just using the bathroom. I told her she could have said we're not allowed in the bathroom together at once, nicely. The ambiance is amazing. The service was also awesome and very timely. This bar reminds me of an old, dive bar with good prices, friendly people and a hometown feel. We had our roller derby afterparty at City Slickers and couldn't have picked a better spot. The staff were incredibly welcoming--even with a whole team of sweaty, glitter-covered skaters rolling in. They went above and beyond by creating custom menus just for us, which was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel like VIPs. The vibes were on point, the food was delicious, and the drinks hit the spot after a long day on the track. I came here with my friend and she was verbally abused by the bartender Anthony. I thought we were having a normal conversation, and we mention the beer we had was flat, the girl bartender was super nice and said they'd repour it no prob, and she told Anthony but then he came over to us and was pissed, was super unprofessional and gave us serious attitude for no reason. He said he didn't have any problems pouring it for other people that day, and so he doesn't see why we thought it was flat. He could've just told us he can't or won't repour it. Another patron was next to us and asked to try it, and we said sure and he said "yeah, it's flat" but regardless Anthony didn't need to give us that much attitude and be that unprofessional because we pointed it out and it somehow pissed him off personally. Maybe he was having a bad day. But no excuse. Next we went outside and were having a good time talking and listening to music, when he closed the door. We opened it, because we couldn't hear the music and we liked the song, and he immediately comes back out and looks at us and asks "Are you trying to be a bitch, or just a fucking bitch?" And we were taken aback. I couldn't believe he just said that. Bad day or not, nothing happened at all to warrant that question and being called a bitch. My friend asked why he called her a bitch, and he said it was because we asked if he was from around here or SoCal, because he had a valley girl accent. Which my friend also has, and her family is from LA. The owner then responds to her Yelp review regarding this experience, saying this was homophobic to ask, when it's literally just called a valley girl accent. If he took it wrong, that's on him, there was nothing bad intentions and if he had a bad day that made him take it wrong, when I thought we were honestly just having a normal conversation, that's on him. But NONE of this warrants calling a customer bitch. He could've professionally asked us to leave. Instead, my friend felt she needed to confront him about how he could do that and to point out that it's fucked up and unprofessional and unnecessary, and he got offended and started calling her a bitch over and over again near the jukebox. The other bartender girl kind of understood us but as they argued she of course took her bartenders side. Nothing that happened that day warranted a bartender to call my friend a bitch to her face and again and again after she felt the need to confront him. This whole thing on their end has been blown out of proportions by the owner and the bartender, and I hope they can just take some accountability that NOTHING that day warranted calling my friend, a customer, a bitch. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The management and way they treat their customers is absolutely astonishing. After witnessing a really uncomfortable interaction between a bartender named Anthony and my friend about a month ago, I have not returned because of how rude they treated her. My friend jokingly asked where the bartender was from because she picked up on his "valley accent"... she is in no way homophobic or discriminative in fact is probably the last person I would call that... so when she asked the bartender that I guess he got offended for her mistaking his sexuality with a valley accent? Obviously not meaning any harm at all. It was crazy how he reacted. She apologized and then he actually said he was from LA which makes sense bc he had a valley accent it was almost like he was looking for problems. At one point in the night, Anthony stepped outside and shut the door, cutting off the music so we couldn't hear in. My friend went to reopen it, but instead of handling it calmly, Anthony came back out and aggressively confronted her. He literally asked, "Are you trying to be a bitch, or are you just a f***ing bitch?" It was seriously so shocking. Everyone around seemed taken aback by his behavior.. it was so so so immature, unprofessional and totally out of line. It definitely changed the vibe of the place and made for an uncomfortable experience. I've worked in the service industry for 8 years and I have never once seen this level of insanity with staff members towards their customers. Not professional. The owner gave misinformation once again in her reply. The person we had issues with was a 6'4 - 23 year old male who goes to ASU. None of the patrons in our group were females. At the time he was 2 years of age. The ID is valid. Hotel and other surrounding bars happily checked / stamped his hand and we enjoyed the night. As someone who has enjoyed the bar many times I convinced everyone to walk down and enjoy the vibe / drinks and slickers to wind down the night only to be told no due to lack of training / confidence and knowledge. Read the reviews of your establishment seems to be a lot of bad reviews for lack of knowing how to or being willing to properly check ID. With you in the comments admitting some were real in the end. If we were trying to pass a fake ID I wouldn't have left a review. That's not how life works. None of us would be mad if you the person at the front was just doing their job. But no. They actually weren't. And turned 5 of us paying customers away who were all of age. I'm sure even your 89 year old grandmother (previously mentioned) would agree that it was bad business to not get a second set of eyes on the ID. I also own a small business. And if I was you I'd be upset at the employee not the patrons trying to be in your establishment legally. I also respect you defending your staff but either they lied to you or you had us mixed up with another group. I may be partial but, with good reason! Slickers new location is terrific! They have a great bar top, private tables around the bar AND outdoor seating on the beautiful patio. The atmosphere is great for everyone. You can go in by yourself for a beer and make some new friends or bring your family and your dogs! I've been here numerous times to get hard Seltzer - low carb diet lol. Shelby has been the bartender most times and she is very friendly and helpful. My friends have had mixed drinks and enjoy them also. They have a full bar, food - which I haven't tried yet- pool table and darts. Came here with my bestfriend. They have a sign that says they skip metal songs, but they skip any song that isn't their vibe. One guy who I assume is Bar back ( black beanie and a white tank top on) heard us singing a song. It was changed 20 seconds into the song. We were disappointed because it's one of our favorites, the guy next to us even made a comment about why they would change the song if people were vibing with it. The bar back then exclaimed right in front of us how that was much better. My bestfriend. Who payed to listen to the song said she disagreed. He walked to the back thinking we couldn't see him called her a bitch to the bar tender (he was great). After he talked to him the bartender reimbursed us for the credits we spent on the song. Gold Country Run and Sport (a run specialty store in EDH and Rocklin) loves City Slickers! I have been the operations manager for GCRS for the past two years and City Slickers has welcomed us for two "Pub Runs" during that time. They let us bring a bunch (about 30) runners to their bar and reserved us a spot on the patio and let us set up a tent as well! The staff was so friendly, made sure we had water at our tables, and even made a fun sign welcoming us to the bar. We gathered and went for a short run and when we got back all ordered drinks and food. The atmosphere is great for a run/post run hang and the bartenders were really nice. The food was great too!
