Sutter Street Steakhouse has always been very consistent with the quality of food and service. Great atmosphere! Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. They are extremely busy on the weekends. Even with a reservation, we still had to wait a little bit on a Saturday night to be seated. We tried their Signature dishes, Surf n' Turf - 6 oz Filet, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, & Soy Wasabi Sauce with the Lobster and with the Prawns. Both seasoned just right! Make sure you save room and try the Steakhouse Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee.

I had the NY strip, mashed potatoes and yes I even had a Loaded Baked Potato! Everything here was a 10/10. Would definitely go back to this restaurant again! They even had 2024 Villa Pozzi - Moscato, I love a good moscato with dinner! Our waiter was attentive and easy to talk to. The only downside was that we had a reservation and they took like 30 minutes to seat us.

This was one of the best steakhouses I have been to! The steak was juicy, cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. The potatoes were great too! Onion ring appetizer was phenomenal to start as well. The worst part about the meal was the service. Hostess wasn't kind. Waiter was slow. For what I paid, I expected more. I would come back in hopes of better service.

Came for early Valentine's Day. Our server, Stacey E, was very helpful and attentive. Parking can be a challenge, but we lucked out and were able to park in one the garages beneath the restaurant. The garages are relatively small (20-25 spots). The food was great as always. The seasonal lemonade was kiwi-passion fruit.

We came on a Monday evening and they had a great deal on combo meals. I had the flat iron steak with 3 perfectly cooked shrimp. I subbed fries for the mashed potatoes and they were great. Hubby had the New York steak combo. Both steaks were cooked to a perfect medium rare per our request. The calamari appetizer is plenty to share. Our server was very helpful and accommodating with any requests. We sat in a booth near to the kitchen. We could watch the dishes as they came out. We've never had a bad meal or service here. They are consistently good.

I had a fantastic time at Sutter Street Steakhouse. It was a wonderful place to celebrate my mom's birthday. The ambiance is very relaxed with dim lighting and dark colored decor. We went to dinner with a party of 10 and arrived early. We sat in the bar area while we waited for our table to be ready and the service was quick. Once our table was set we were seated and Jessica (FANTASTIC waitress) let us know of the specials for the evening. Because we were such a large party, I got to try so many dishes on the menu. Every appetizer was delicious except for the calamari which was not quite to my liking. Some sides left me wanting a little more seasoning, but overall they were great. My favorite appetizer was the warm brie & bacon jam, it is an absolute MUST TRY! The onion rings were crispy and flavorful and oysters were fresh and accompanied by 3 sauces. Brussels sprouts were a great texture and paired well with the hot honey and feta. That being said, the salmon and every steak we ordered were cooked to PERFECTION! You cannot go wrong with any of their proteins. The succotash paired with the salmon was herbaceous and a great texture. Steaks were tender and juicy. Cocktails were good. I had a lemon drop with tequila and a huckleberry lemon drop martini which I greatly enjoyed! Overall I would definitely come again and I think this restaurant is a great spot for date nights! As for large groups be prepared to pay added gratuity and I do not believe they split checks at dinner. As an added bonus there is a parking garage that has an elevator that will take you to the restaurant! Sutter Street Steakhouse is a must try!!

Listen.... I have had many oysters throughout my life, and NONE of them could ever compare to the oysters I had from this restaurant. They are so fresh, they have all the perfect sauces to go with them. Truly I have continued to go back to this restaurant for the oysters alone. Haha! The lobster is really really good as well. It's soft and buttery and everything that I would want from a lobster. I had my first espresso martini here (which is crazy I know) and this place made me wish that I had been ordering espresso martinis since I turned 21. The ambiance is nice and calming, I love the warm lighting. The service has been great, funny enough I ended up getting the same server both times I have come and his energy is awesome, I wish I would have gotten his name to leave here. I'm overall so satisfied with my experience and I'll be seeing you guys very soon for more oysters and lobster.

Perfect place for a date or any special occasion! I would say this is my favorite place for steak in or near Sacramento. My go to is the 14 oz. Certified U.S.D.A. Prime Rib Eye, cooked medium ($60). It is always cooked to perfection, meat is juicy, and rich in flavor. Huge proportions btw! I can never finish it all in one go, (although my bf happily can) I enjoy eating it again the next day :D. The steaks always come with a side of mashed potatoes and herb compounded butter, which are delicious. They are very generous to give you a whole melt-in-your-mouth garlic for your meal, and if you are a garlic lover, you would love this lol! Service is amazing, servers are always attentive and super kind. We came here for our anniversary, and the servers offered us a chocolate lava cake on the house! It was soo good!! The lava cake was topped with vanilla bean ice cream sitting on a plate drizzled with salted caramel. If you have room for dessert, you should defiantly try it! Note: they have a parking garage under the restaurant, and there is an elevator that leads directly to and from the restaurant. It might be a bit hard to find esp at night, so if this is your first time here, I would scout it out google maps.

Celebrated my sister and brothers birthday at Sutter Street last night and we enjoyed our visit here. The restaurant was clean and well decorated, I like the wine cellar in the middle of the dinning room. We ordered drinks from the bar before we were seated and all of our drinks were really good. The service was great our waiter Chase was on point the whole night and he took really good care of us. The food was really good, I ordered the 14oz Ribeye medicine rare, which was cooked perfectly. We also ordered a dozen oysters, fried calamari, blackened prawns, and Brussels. They dish that I wouldn't order again is the Brussels, they were ok but nothing to call home about.

Food here is great, the steaks are cook perfectly. This was our first time at SSS, I ordered the filet and my husband ordered the ribeye. Service was long, which I kind of liked due to the fact I didn't feel rushed to leave. This place is great for special occasions, night out with friends or celebrations

Amazing steak and really delicious cheesecake, everything was a 10/10. We celebrated a birthday here and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding and the ambiance truly felt like fine dining. I would definitely come back again.

Ribeye cooked medium with side of mash
    Bart B.

Was here on NYE'25 so may have not been fully representative of a normal night. With that out of the way I'd give the food and ambiance a C+. I ordered a ribeye steak (medium rare cook) for $62 bucks that came with a side of mash. I also ordered a side of potato cakes that was delish but colder than I would have liked. I sat on the patio and the heaters do not provide adequate heat so you will be given blankets. Service was mediocre and the bill for two was ~$200 with wine. For the price this place isn't bad but the food and service is just very forgettable.

First of, I love the space from the get go. The front is inviting, feels like a new environment. Love the low lighting that matched with the feeling of a fancy dining. We had made a reservation for about 10 people and we were never forgotten! They took our orders and soon after, we got our food before we knew. I got the New York Steak medium well and it was delicious! Something I would come back for. Our server was amazing! She was so friendly and recommended most of our food! Wish I took more photos but it was definitely a birthday to remember.

Ask the Community - Sutter Street Steakhouse

How much does a bill run for three adults?

Probably around $175 depending on how many drinks and or appetizers and if you order dessert. Such good food and the service is impeccable. Never been disappointed there.

Is there a corkage fee if you bring your own wine?

    Yes

Does this restaurant serve French bread while waiting for dinner? and are the drinks strong?

The Sutter Street Steakhouse does serve fresh bread while waiting for dinner but I cannot testify as to whether it is French or some other kind. As for the strength of their drinks, all I can tell you they did not water down my wine.

    Are jeans allowed?

My family was in jeans and we had no trouble

Are there some tables in the bar where you can wait for a table and have a glass of wine?

    Yes!

    Do they take reservations?

    Definitely. They're pretty much required.

What are your hours now that pandemic is loosening up, also do you have a lunch menu?

Tuesday-Thursday 4:30 to 9pm Friday & Saturday 4:30 to 10pm, Sundays 4:30 to 8:30, closed on Mondays currently. Only open for Dinner service.

Does this restaurant have heat lamps to keep patrons warm while eating dinner outdoors?

    Yes the do!

Do they still serve that incredible burger in the bar?

    Yes.

    Is there a kids menu?

    Yes.

    Is there a corkage fee?

Yes but on Sundays it's free

Is happy hour still 4:30-6pm? What are the HH specials, and are they only available at the bar?

    Yes

Do they have a dress code?

Not that I know of but it's a nice restaurant, so business casual dress seems appropriate, even nice jeans. I've seen people there in T shirts, shorts, and tennis shoes, but seems mire respectful to fellow diners to wear clean and fashionable… Read more

But how could I know that experience (and the service!! OMG the service!!!) was going to be so outstanding, that I would come back again the next evening to eat again?? The first night it was happy hour, with a spicy jalapeño mule, buffalo cauliflower, smoked Brussel sprouts, and a couple of beers. But the service was so attentive (almost too attentive) that we felt like we had to watch for gaps so we could take a bite or a sip in between folks checking in to see if we needed more food, more refills, or just a friendly hello! The next night was burgers, and brews, and bloody Marys - and again, the most amazing thoughtful, interactive and attentive service I have ever seen! And being a business owner, I can tell you that it's not enough to have a beautiful setting on the river with great views and a decent menu. Having servers, managers, bartenders (hell even the bussers had smiles and were polite and friendly) absolutely seals the deal. I really have no reason to go back to to El Dorado Hills in the near future other than work, but because of this single restaurant experience, I can tell you I am trying to find more reasons to return!

Food deals include half off all appetizers ("smaller") and tavern pizzas (flabreads). Specialty cocktails, wine, and beer are discounted a couple dollars and well drinks are nicely priced at $6. We came around 4:30pm and there was a lot of seating available. The hostess was welcoming and our server Evelyn was great. She had a chill and pleasant attitude and was very efficient with our requests. Kitchen was quick to bring out my poke nachos, and our combo pizza and chicken wings came within 10 minutes. My husband had to send his lemonade back because it was carbonated, but they fixed it right away and it was perfect. The poke nachos was stacked high with crispy wonton chips and diced raw tuna with a spicy aioli sauce throughout. The buffalo chicken wings were sauced just right and still a little crispy. I heard the server tell another patron they can do bbq sauce or naked if you do not want buffalo sauce. The flatbread pizza wasn't as crispy on the bottom as I'd like (probably because of all the toppings) but the edges of the crust were good with a nice chew/crispy ratio. Overall, food was delicious, and at half off, definitely worth it, Since there were only a few patrons in the restaurant at the time, it was fairly quiet, but I've been when it's packed, loud, and lively. There are plenty of entree options and all of their sides are à la carte. The staff make sure to provide their feedback on the entree items and popular choices by other patrons. If you get lucky to have Joyce to help with ordering, she is the best. Made sure everything we ordered came out just like we ordered. Overall, this place is definitely a must try if you are in the mood for steak and some delicious sides.

The best part of the night was the service provided by Riley! Riley was amazing and had the best customer service and this establishment is so blessed to have him. Now for the food! Wow what a disappointment! I have never seen someone call a steakhouse a steakhouse where their steak looks like this. The so called steak was about a 1/4 inch thick or maybe even less. Look at the picture compared to the fork. The steak lacked flavor and just overall really disappointed. I've eaten at the at all the local steak houses along with some of the best in the country and when Texas Roadhouse or Logan's, or other chains server a better steak, you need a makeover, a new manager or new purveyor of steaks. The ambiance is older, old school steakhouse that needs updating. The lights kept flickering and the light where we seating was coming off and on. Not sure where all the pictures that are on Yelp came from but this was not my experience. I will not be back again and now I can see why this restaurant is typically not at full capacity like South Fork grille or Millestone located in the same town center. I would not recommend it.

We ate outdoors on a beautiful evening. Service was very good. We had linguini with white clam sauce and chicken parmesan. Both meals came with a nice salad and very tasty garlic bread. We shared both meals and frankly everything we ate was excellent. We'd come back in a flash if we ever come back to the area.

I don't know how they make it, but it is the best I've ever eaten. To start the meal off, I ordered their tortellini soup. It had a tomato base with creamy cheese tortellini. I'm not a soup person, but I didn't leave a single drop of that soup in the bowl. That's how good it was. Okay back to the main course. I ordered their baked ziti. I ordered this because I have this dish a lot. I was told this restaurant is really good, so I wanted to see what their version of this simple dish was like. It was amazing! I already mentioned the sauce. It also had really creamy ricotta cheese with mozzarella on top. If I was going to be super picky, the noodles were not el dente, but that could be because it was baked. The noodles were not mushy, but a bit soft. The marinara made up for any type of pickiness. I can't even express how much I loved that sauce! You have to try it! The portions are big, so save room for dessert! For desert, I had the coffee almond gelato. It was super creamy and delicious! The iced tea had a great flavor. It was fresh like it was just made.

Being that this is the First Time of the wife and I visiting this place, let me tell you that it…read morecertainly did not disappoint. Today we decided that after seeing the movie Michael, we wanted some food because well, Popcorn and a Drink certainly doesnt cut it when you're hungry. Right as soon as we walked in if you turn to the left you get to see a huge menu and with there being so many things to choose from, we choose Tri-Tip Soft Tacos and Pulled Pork Tacos. The wife came over with some samples of BBQ Sauce to try and I first tested the Sweet Fire Heat BBQ Sauce and the Buckhorns BBQ Sauce and just to say that since I dont really do Spice (Except every so often) the Sweet Fire Heat BBQ Sauce wasnt very spicy and the Buckhorns BBQ Sauce was delicious. However when I walked over to get the California Gold BBQ Sauce and I tested that, WHOA!! It immediately hits you in the back of the throat. After waiting for about 4 or 5 minutes the waitress came over with our food. She presented my wife with her Tri-Tip Tacos and then to me with my Pulled Pork Tacos. As soon as I took a bite out of my Pulled Pork Tacos, you could taste the chewiness of the meat because it was so tender. My wife and I then swapped 1 Taco each and after I took a bite out of her Tri-Tip Taco, it then mirrored the same tenderness and taste of the Pulled Pork. It was soft and when I poured the Buckhorn BBQ Sauce on it, it actually added more flavor to the taste of the Tri-Tip the same of my Pulled Pork. I then tried the Strawberry Dragonfruit Lemonade and while I wasn't a big fan of that I decided to just change to Mango Lemonade which was very good as well. Thank you Buckhorn for such a great experience. Oh yeah, when they brought out the Bavarian Pretzel and the Buckhorns Beer Cheese.. WOW!! The size of the Pretzel caught my eye but it was very good as well. And while we spent a good chunk of change, everything here was very well worth it. Definitely a 5 Star place because the food and the BBQ are most certainly ON POINT!

Four of us were doing some Palladio window shopping when we came upon the Buckhorn restaurant. We peeked at the menu and decided to give it a try for an early dinner. One in our group had eaten here previously and enjoyed her meal immensely. Ok... let's go! Ambiance: Big, large, almost warehouse-type feel. Love the open kitchen with all the cooking/barbecuing going on. Super nice bar area with a dedicated bartender. Excellent for a couple or single walking in and wanting a more intimate experience. Enormous amount of tables and booths. And as you enter the checkin area there is well laid out and easy to read menu signs. Love the "do your ordering at the get go", pay, and then relax until your food is delivered. Also a handy/easy concept for groups or anyone not liking to figure out and splitting individual food costs. Food: Delicious! And there was 20 minutes left of happy hour when we came in. Who knew!?! Two of our group ordered from the HH menu and two did not. Beer battered onion rings served with ranch, the Buckhorn Burger and three Char Roasted Tri Tip Sliders all from the HH menu. (Check out those great prices from my HH menu photo.) I ordered the Cabo Chop Salad and added grilled chicken. And a side of lightly salted fries... just because! As requested, the onion rings and fries were delivered to our booth first. Both were piping hot and delicious. They hit the spot. And disappeared fast. Yum! After devouring all of that, everything else came out looking and tasting f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c! Not one complaint. My salad was wonderful and I would definitely order it again in a heart beat. Bar: Great selection of anything you may want. Wine, beer, and cocktails. Impressive HH prices were sweet too. Sean, the bartender, was super welcoming. I chose a Sauvignon Blanc and Sean brought it to my booth in minutes. I could see enjoying a future HH at the bar! Customer Service: Top notch! We interacted with a young woman when we entered and ordered. She was AWESOME. Friendly, professional, quick to answer all our questions as first-time diners and knowledgeable about the many menu items. And again so nice of her to get our order in before 5 for those using the HH choices. A big thank you to her! Both she and Sean made our dining experience wonderful. I am sold on the Buckhorn for great food, drinks, and service. Nice outdoor dog friendly seating. Great for families and groups. Clean! Parking garage nearby. Do not miss the Buckhorn!
