Been to High Steaks several times, and they never disappoint. The food is consistently phenomenal. Tonight, my husband and I decided to sit at the bar and just enjoy some drinks. The bartender was super friendly and attentive. I had the Queen of Hearts ( fruity, spirit-forward blend featuring pisco, amaretto, and crème de cassis, balanced with raspberry syrup) and he stuck with a Jack and Diet, both made perfectly. We couldn't leave without sharing dessert, so we got the Lemon Cheesecake (Lemon Curd, Raspberry Butter Crust, Chantilly Cream, and Raspberry Sauce). With just the right balance of sweet and tangy. If you're looking for great service and awesome food in Lincoln, this is definitely the spot. We'll be back again soon. read more

They brought out a beautiful assortment of complimentary fresh breads, which immediately set the tone that this place pays attention to details. I began with a Tanqueray martini ($15.50) -- perfectly chilled, properly balanced, and definitely not skimpy. We also ordered a bottle of Avissi Prosecco ($52.00) that we enjoyed throughout the meal. For starters we shared a half chopped salad ($11.00) and a French onion soup ($19.00). The soup was outstanding -- rich broth, great onion flavor, and perfectly melted cheese. Then, unexpectedly, our server brought a complimentary Gouda cheese appetizer, which was a really nice touch. For the main course we split a 12 oz filet mignon ($71.00) cooked medium rare. It came out slightly closer to medium than requested -- the only small knock I can give -- but it was still tender and delicious. What impressed me most was they thoughtfully split the steak before cooking and plated it on two separate dishes with garnish, making it feel like two full entrees rather than sharing. Just when we thought the night was over, they surprised us with complimentary salted caramel chocolates for dessert, which was the perfect sweet finish. I appreciate that they acknowledged my complaint, but the execution just wasn't there. Bring back the original bread basket. The crispy pistachio crusted bread was possibly the best thing on the planet yet you have replaced it with a disgusting Parmesan crisp. Very upsetting. The bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer is up to $34 for four shrimps. I am personally boycotting this dish until the price comes down despite it being my favorite appetizer to ever exist. Visited on a September Tuesday night for the prime ribs special. The moment I stepped into the steakhouse, I knew I was in for a high-stakes (pun intended) experience. Dim lighting, rich red booths, and stone pillars gave the room the kind of old-school Vegas charm. I made reservations for my friend's birthday and had a fabulous dining experience with only two exceptions, which is the reason for my 4 star rating, rather than 5. Parking was very easy. We used the complimentary casino valet and even had both of our doors open for us which is a rare treat. We ordered a glass of Wise Villa Red Blend Wisdom of Wise (as Lincoln residents, we gotta keep it local!) and it's delicious! They served a very nice platter of fresh breads and butter and the crispy bread cracker like wedges were so good. Then, we started with an order of the bacon wrapped shrimp with toasted tobacco onions and it was AMAZING! They always provide some kind of sample to try and it was a some kind of seasoned grain dish and very tasty. I ordered the wagyu hamburger with truffle fries and my friend ordered the scallops. Here's where things went a bit sideways. I was facing the kitchen and saw my burger sitting under the heat lamps for over 20 minutes and right before my friend's scallops were ready, they pulled the burger down and I'm guessing added fresh fries. I should have said something but didn't want to disrupt our nice evening with any negativity but my friend felt so bad, it kind of put a damper on the dinner anyway. The burger bun was way too big and the pickle was warm and limp along with the lettuce and tomatoes. My medium cooked burger request was now well done thanks to over 20 minutes under heat lamps. I only ate part of one burger patty and my dogs enjoyed the second patty when I got home. The fries were very good! So, my main course was a bit of a bust but the dessert made up for it. My friend was given a complimentary chocolate mousse desert with a lit candle so I could sing to her and then we wanted to share the lemon cheesecake with was served looking like a real lemon. 5 stars for this dessert. Finally, they served the best tasting salted chocolate toffee (complimentary!) and it was the best toffee I've ever had. I will return and was thinking of bringing another friend but she is sensitive to smells and the cigarette smoke that drifted in from the casino would definitely not work for her. At first, I almost couldn't believe that so many people still smoked indoors but it is a casino after all. Next time I visit, I will ask for a table a bit further from the front door to minimize the second hand smoke smell and order the crab cakes, the bacon wrapped shrimp, one of their salads and of course the fabulous lemon cheesecake! read more

Went to TVC to see Russel Peters last Saturday night (I will never go see him again, money grab show, the warm up act was much better. He is just not funny to me anymore) the high light for me was High Steaks. We didn't have reservation, waited for it to open, got a seat at the bar and was treated like royalty. We didn't have reservations, but after having a few drinks and gambling, we got the urge for a good steak. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they were able to accommodate us for a table of 12 at 9 PM. We were sat in a private room that accommodated 12 people. It was a very nice room for an intimate dinner. We had one server and she did well taking out orders. She also had someone make sure our water and drink cups were full. We received complimentary bread and butter. Came warm. I had the ribeye, cooked well. I noticed that the outside was cooked great but the inside was more on the rare side. Once our dinner came, she didn't come as often but I did manage to ask her helper if I can get my steak to be cooked a little more. When our server came, most were done with their food so I just asked her to box it up for me after. She was nice to do so. I tried a piece of the salmon and it was very juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. As for sides, we had the puréed potatoes, which were very creamy, the sautéed spinach had a mint taste to it but needed salt in my opinion. The mushrooms I do recommend. The bacon wrapped shrimp was a bit too salty, and had a wasabi type taste. The mac & cheese was really good, he can taste a sharp cheddar so if you like that, definitely go with the mac & cheese. overall, we had a pleasant dinner. Last night was our first time at High Steaks Steakhouse! It was truly an amazing experience. The staff as we entered were friendly as were the waiters. The waiter took the time to take our picture. We made 5pm reservations so that we could take our time before we saw the Diana Ross concert at The Venue. When I made reservations they asked if we were celebrating anything and it was my birthday! My husband ordered the Prime Rib and was perfectly rare, I had the Scallops and they were so fresh and was pleasantly surprised that there were 5 scallops! We shared a Baked Potato and all the condiments were on the side and plenty of it! Our friends ordered the Filet Mignon and it was cooked perfectly a medium rare and the Braised Shortribs. They loved the Cesar Salad, too! The plate of variety of Bread was delicious! I loved the Cheese Jalapeno roll, our friend enjoyed a pecan roll. In the future, they should let us know that there is a bread with nuts for ones that may have nut allergy! I personally do not like nuts! We had dinner here the first night of our stay at the resort, and let me say it was fabulous! The resort itself was quite a surprise as it far exceeded my expectations, but jewel of the resort is this restaurant. Everything was fantastic, from greeting by the hosts, the restaurant setting, service and food. It truly is several steps ahead of any competing steakhouse. We started with some fantastic cocktails and then moved onto appetizers. I started with the tuna tatami which was beautifully presented and tasted fresh and flavorful. Hubby opted for the caviar service which was over the top in presentation - upon delivery to the table, some added water to the dry ice made it ever so dramatic. Hubby then had the seat corn and lobster chowder, which he loved. I opted to skip this course and save room for my steak and sides. We then both had the petite filet, mine with gorgonzola blue cheese crust, while hubby opted for pure. Both steaks were cooked to perfection and the taste was out of this world! We shared the sea salt baked potato, which they split in the kitchen and provided us with our own toppings (nice touch). We also had broccolini, which was our server's favorite and grilled asparagus, both of which we enjoyed immensely. We were so full, there was no room for dessert, although the chef did send out some chocolates! One of the best parts of the evening was our server Justin. He was extremely friendly, quick to share his suggestions, and given we had no other activity planned for that evening, was quite happy to let us take our time enjoying our dining experience - which we did (our reservation was at 7:30 and we rolled out of there at 11:00). My salmon was undercooked, but I didn't want to send it back for fear they would overcook it. Her steak which was supposed to be medium rare was more like medium well. My husband and I were staying 2 nights at Thunder valley and their food court was just not hitting any food cravings! I was not too hungry so I ordered the French onion soup and baked potato! The French onion soup was the best I ever had and was chef's kiss! It was perfectly seasoned, plenty of cheese, chives, and oh so delicious! I ate every bite and left nothing in the bowl! Then I ordered the loaded baked potato. I love how they put everything on the side for you to choose how much of each item you want to put on your potato! My husband loved his seafood sampler because it had a bit of everything from tuna, oysters, crab and lobster. The steak was flavorful as well! I really enjoyed the service from Ryan our bus boy. He offered us more bread and good conversation as well! Give him a raise! I loved his service so much I tipped him a $25 green chip! Give credit where credit is due! He will go far in life! We enjoyed our meal and service, that we came back the next day. We were seated in a different area, but Dominick saw us, and stopped by to say hello, and asked how our house haunting went. Ok after 9 years i finally came back! I can't believe it! Didn't have a reservation but the wait wasn't too bad considering how busy the casino was. Only about 45 min wait and that went by pretty quickly as i played slots. We were greeted by Tariq starting with with water and then orest came over to help us for the night. Gave us plenty of time to decide on what we wanted and recommendations. To start we had the shrimp cocktail with i don't normally like but this was fresh, big and the tartar sauce was yummy. Ribeye medium to split and it was cool perfectly good good flavor. The cilantro garlic butter was a nice compliment. The scallops YAAASS order them! That's a meal on its own. Tender Broccoli i give a 4/5 good flavor and not soggy.! The Mac and cheese is still a no for me. I should have read my previous review before letting my husband order. We enjoyed a bottle of the Rutherford cab and they made sure to keep that glass along with you water full. Since we were celebrating an anniversary they brought out a creme brûlée! I was so full from dinner i felt bad not finishing the dessert, We also had the bread basket that comes with a variety of types and i liked all of those carbs. Early Celebration Dinner [Lincoln CA] Hubby and I had an early Valentine's Day celebration here. The restaurant is located inside the Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln. My only complaint is that it is smack dab in the middle. When coming in from the outdoor parking area where the casino buses drop off people or from the parking garage there is no way of avoiding the smoke from either direction. Ugh! We had a reservation just in case the restaurant was full but it wasn't at all. A basket of complimentary artisan bread and butter was served followed by an amuse-bouche (I can't remember what it was but it is a French term for a small appetizer served before the main course). We ordered and requested to split a 19-oz "Bone-In" Rib-Eye with the Oscar Style add-on which included: Jumbo Lump Crab, Steamed Asparagus and Bearnaise Sauce. We ordered more Asparagus because the add-on was just slivers of asparagus, and also Yukon Gold Potato Purée (just a fancy name for mashed potatoes) LoL! For dessert we ordered Crème Brûlée to share but by this time we were already so full so we took it home. Their gluten free rolls are heavenly. It's so hard to find fresh and hot gluten free bread at restaurants and theirs is always delicious and steaming. On happy hour, I order their steak sliders with no bun and replace it with the GF rolls as they don't have this option on the menu. They used to have more happy hour options that I'd come every couple weeks for. However since reducing the HH menu, yesterday was my first time back in a long time. I'd give 4.5 stars for this reason if I could! The Gorgonzola crusted filet is my go to for a dinner because it's so flavorful and it pairs nicely with multiple of their wine selection. Tasted just as great this time as it used to. I've seen some of the same faces in there for years so they must treat their employees well. The service is usually pretty good. Definitely a different atmosphere in the bar from the restaurant.
