Love this steak house! The decor is kinda dark and sexy and all of the staff have always been amazing. We started off our meal with their bread plate served with whipped butter and sprinkled with black salt....great assortment and very fresh.... My husband & I went in for a light dinner before a concert. We split a Caesar salad and boy was it delicious. Their dressing is rich with great flavor and it was topped with grated parm cheese and toasted bread crumbs...my husband had anchovies on the side...so so good.... We decided to split the braised short ribs and substituted the rice with garlic mashed potatoes... the short ribs melted on your mouth and the garlic mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy...nice garlic flavor too.... We also decide to split a half order of sautéed mushrooms and they were perfectly cooked with a nice buttery flavor.... We will definitely be coming back to try more delicious steaks and seafood dishes. read more

This was my second time at High Steaks, but this time around was definitely memorable sitting at a table. Stephen and Adonis were both extremely attentive, and the level of service and attention to detail was something I honestly haven't experienced in a long time. I really appreciated their insight on the food, the recommendations, and above all, how they made us feel like regulars. That type of service makes all the difference beyond just the great apps and main courses. Can't wait to come back, and we'll definitely be asking for them personally next time. I enjoyed the many laughs. Cheers! read more

Yep... only 2 stars. Both on its own, and by comparison to another recent pricey steakhouse experience. First, the appetizers. My lobster corn chowder tasted nothing like corn or chowder....just bacon flavor overpowering the taste..and it would have been nice to have actual lobster in it. The meatballs were served with a polenta "sauce.." not really a polenta. While tasty, I would think for $20, the meatballs would be served warm. Not a good start .. Then, the steaks and sides. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly....but perhaps some seasoning next time? I essentially used the gorgonzola mashed potatoes as a "sauce." Kind of "scammy" to have flavorless steaks, and then charge $10-$20 for various steak sauce and toppings. Lastly, the creamed spinach. Again, man...some seasoning would be amazing. Spinach mixed with cream....and "liquid" cream (lack of presentation?) was not worth $20. The server was good and attentive, so props to her. Why a 2? If I'm going to spend $280, it needs to taste better then someone getting yelled at by Ramsay on a Hells Kitchen episode. Would NOT recommend for a special occasion....until they get the basics right to warrant them charging that much. read more

Right when we walked into the steak house, the two host in the front were extremely rude! Never encountered such hostile behaviour and attitude all the other times I've been here. Tall thin Caucasian girl and shorter Asian girl. Didn't get their name. 6:30pm in a Wednesday night. Two for host service, 5 star for our server, he is awesome! read more

Attending a concert at Thunder Valley so finally got a chance to try out this restaurant. Had a reservation was seated immediately. Waiter and staff were all pleasant and very accommodating. Bread came out 1st, warm and very delicious. Food took quite a bit of time though about 30 mins. Ordered a salmon salad special wasn't aware the salmon was prepared raw but that was my mistake not the restaurant. Also ordered mac n cheese and a filet Mignon topped with crab. Steak is by far the star of the show but could use a little more seasoning. The Mac n cheese I probably wouldn't order again. Cheese was more runny than I prefer gave kind of a velveeta vibe. Overall a good experience but for the price I might go to another restaurant in the casino. read more

I ended 2025 at High Steaks and it did not disappoint. I have been dining at High Steaks for many years and the quality of the food and the service has always been phenomenal. The filet was prepared to the perfect temperature of medium rare. I love the tenderness of the filet. The lobster was very delicious. I do not recall the name of the dessert. The sauce was a red wine reduction and it paired nicely with the dessert. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

I made reservations for my friend's birthday and had a fabulous dining experience with only two exceptions, which is the reason for my 4 star rating, rather than 5. Parking was very easy. We used the complimentary casino valet and even had both of our doors open for us which is a rare treat. We ordered a glass of Wise Villa Red Blend Wisdom of Wise (as Lincoln residents, we gotta keep it local!) and it's delicious! They served a very nice platter of fresh breads and butter and the crispy bread cracker like wedges were so good. Then, we started with an order of the bacon wrapped shrimp with toasted tobacco onions and it was AMAZING! They always provide some kind of sample to try and it was a some kind of seasoned grain dish and very tasty. I ordered the wagyu hamburger with truffle fries and my friend ordered the scallops. Here's where things went a bit sideways. I was facing the kitchen and saw my burger sitting under the heat lamps for over 20 minutes and right before my friend's scallops were ready, they pulled the burger down and I'm guessing added fresh fries. I should have said something but didn't want to disrupt our nice evening with any negativity but my friend felt so bad, it kind of put a damper on the dinner anyway. The burger bun was way too big and the pickle was warm and limp along with the lettuce and tomatoes. My medium cooked burger request was now well done thanks to over 20 minutes under heat lamps. I only ate part of one burger patty and my dogs enjoyed the second patty when I got home. The fries were very good! So, my main course was a bit of a bust but the dessert made up for it. My friend was given a complimentary chocolate mousse desert with a lit candle so I could sing to her and then we wanted to share the lemon cheesecake with was served looking like a real lemon. 5 stars for this dessert. Finally, they served the best tasting salted chocolate toffee (complimentary!) and it was the best toffee I've ever had. I will return and was thinking of bringing another friend but she is sensitive to smells and the cigarette smoke that drifted in from the casino would definitely not work for her. At first, I almost couldn't believe that so many people still smoked indoors but it is a casino after all. Next time I visit, I will ask for a table a bit further from the front door to minimize the second hand smoke smell and order the crab cakes, the bacon wrapped shrimp, one of their salads and of course the fabulous lemon cheesecake! read more

Oh My God -- High Stakes Is a Standout Steakhouse Oh my God. High Stakes is hands down one of my favorite steakhouses in the Sacramento Valley area. In my mind, the food and service here go toe-to-toe with some very serious restaurants -- even ones with Michelin stars, like The Kitchen. That's not something I say lightly. I honestly wish I had the vocabulary to fully capture what this place does so well. The texture and taste of the desserts, the elegance of the atmosphere, and the absolute symphony of flavors coming out on each plate deserve poetic language I may not quite have. Just know this: every bite feels intentional and elevated. This is an excellent spot for celebrations -- birthdays, anniversaries, or any special occasion -- but don't sleep on coming here just because you want an exceptional meal. You don't need an excuse to eat this well. That said, let's be clear: this is not cheap. And it shouldn't be. You can't expect a five-star experience at one-star prices. Come prepared to pay for quality, and you'll leave satisfied. One of the most pleasant surprises came after dinner. We were attending a concert at the venue nearby and were trying to figure out what to do with our leftovers. Without us even asking, the staff offered to keep our food refrigerated while we attended the concert. All they needed was our name. When we returned to pick it up, the service was still top-notch -- thoughtful, professional, and gracious. That level of care is rare and appreciated. High Stakes isn't just about great food -- it's about a complete experience. And they nail it. read more

Waitress 5*****. Server 5*****. Rest of the staff 5*****. Salmon was cooked to perfection. The skin came out crispy but not Burnt. The salmon tasted great with a nice texture-pretty solid yet soft when bitten. For $54 tho, I was expecting it to come with a little side dish like steamed vegetables or rice pilaf, but it was just the salmon in the middle of a big plate. It's a good thing that we bought a side of broccolini. I can't really say much about the Filet Mignon. With a price tag of $78, it was not worth it. What made the Mother's Day experience memorable was the staff from the greeter to the person that sat us, and the waiter and server (Rachel and John I think) were all pleasant and welcoming and made us feel like they were doing their part to make our experience a memorable one. I do plan on coming back tho and try other dishes. read more

My husband and I sat at the bar at High Steaks and had a flawless experience. Our bartender, Lukas, was amazing and makes the best espresso martinis you'll ever taste! We shared the 8 oz. Japanese Wagyu A5 Filet Mignon, and it was hands-down the best filet we have ever tasted--absolutely melted in our mouths. The sides and salad were equally fantastic. To top it off, the manager, Ayhan, stopped by to check on us, he is such an asset! Elite service all around. We'll definitely be back soon! read more

Visited on a September Tuesday night for the prime ribs special. The moment I stepped into the steakhouse, I knew I was in for a high-stakes (pun intended) experience. Dim lighting, rich red booths, and stone pillars gave the room the kind of old-school Vegas charm. The prime rib was a winner--juicy, tender, and soaking in au jus like it was born to bathe in luxury. Every slice felt like I'd hit blackjack. The wagyu burger was pure indulgence--beefy, cheesy, and decadent enough to distract me from the wine I was supposed to be sipping slowly. Our server was friendly, attentive, and quick with recommendations. Left richer in calories, poorer in self-control, and totally satisfied. read more

We didn't have reservations, but after having a few drinks and gambling, we got the urge for a good steak. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they were able to accommodate us for a table of 12 at 9 PM. We were sat in a private room that accommodated 12 people. It was a very nice room for an intimate dinner. We had one server and she did well taking out orders. She also had someone make sure our water and drink cups were full. We received complimentary bread and butter. Came warm. I had the ribeye, cooked well. I noticed that the outside was cooked great but the inside was more on the rare side. Once our dinner came, she didn't come as often but I did manage to ask her helper if I can get my steak to be cooked a little more. When our server came, most were done with their food so I just asked her to box it up for me after. She was nice to do so. I tried a piece of the salmon and it was very juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. As for sides, we had the puréed potatoes, which were very creamy, the sautéed spinach had a mint taste to it but needed salt in my opinion. The mushrooms I do recommend. The bacon wrapped shrimp was a bit too salty, and had a wasabi type taste. The mac & cheese was really good, he can taste a sharp cheddar so if you like that, definitely go with the mac & cheese. overall, we had a pleasant dinner. I'd recommend if you're gambling at the casino and get that urge for a steak or salmon. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but after my third time ordering the lobster, I'm officially done trying. When I mentioned that the lobster had been dry on my previous visits, the staff assured me they would prepare it differently this time. Unfortunately, nothing changed. The lobster came out rubbery, chewy, and still completely dry, exactly like the last two times. For a steakhouse that charges premium prices, this is really disappointing. I appreciate that they acknowledged my complaint, but the execution just wasn't there. At this point, it feels like the kitchen either doesn't know how to prepare lobster properly or simply doesn't care to fix it. I wish my experience had improved, but after three tries, it's clear this dish just isn't worth ordering here. read more

Had a nice dinner at the steakhouse in Thunder Valley Casino Resort after catching a show. The service was exceptional and we were seated immediately for our reservation. The drinks were brought quickly and were phenomenal, but the food was on another level. The Yukon potatoes were delicious, but the real star was my prime rib. The cherry wood smoked flavor was amazing and perfect, the cut, cook, and season made my prime rib one of if not the best I've ever had. Even the fat melted like butter and added great flavor with every bite. If you're looking for a great steakhouse, this is easily one of the best to recommend for the area. read more

5/5 Stars -- Exceptional Steakhouse Experience Date: February 13, 2026 Location: High Steaks Steakhouse -- Thunder Valley Casino Resort, 1200 Athens Ave, Lincoln, CA We had an absolutely wonderful dinner here and it started the moment we sat down. They brought out a beautiful assortment of complimentary fresh breads, which immediately set the tone that this place pays attention to details. I began with a Tanqueray martini ($15.50) -- perfectly chilled, properly balanced, and definitely not skimpy. We also ordered a bottle of Avissi Prosecco ($52.00) that we enjoyed throughout the meal. For starters we shared a half chopped salad ($11.00) and a French onion soup ($19.00). The soup was outstanding -- rich broth, great onion flavor, and perfectly melted cheese. Then, unexpectedly, our server brought a complimentary Gouda cheese appetizer, which was a really nice touch. For the main course we split a 12 oz filet mignon ($71.00) cooked medium rare. It came out slightly closer to medium than requested -- the only small knock I can give -- but it was still tender and delicious. What impressed me most was they thoughtfully split the steak before cooking and plated it on two separate dishes with garnish, making it feel like two full entrees rather than sharing. Just when we thought the night was over, they surprised us with complimentary salted caramel chocolates for dessert, which was the perfect sweet finish. Total: $175.82 including tax From the service to the extras to the presentation, this was a classy and memorable dining experience. Attention to hospitality like this is rare -- we'll absolutely be back next time we're at Thunder Valley. read more

Last night was our first time at High Steaks Steakhouse! It was truly an amazing experience. The staff as we entered were friendly as were the waiters. The waiter took the time to take our picture. We made 5pm reservations so that we could take our time before we saw the Diana Ross concert at The Venue. When I made reservations they asked if we were celebrating anything and it was my birthday! My husband ordered the Prime Rib and was perfectly rare, I had the Scallops and they were so fresh and was pleasantly surprised that there were 5 scallops! We shared a Baked Potato and all the condiments were on the side and plenty of it! Our friends ordered the Filet Mignon and it was cooked perfectly a medium rare and the Braised Shortribs. They loved the Cesar Salad, too! The plate of variety of Bread was delicious! I loved the Cheese Jalapeno roll, our friend enjoyed a pecan roll. In the future, they should let us know that there is a bread with nuts for ones that may have nut allergy! I personally do not like nuts! I had a complimentary Raspberry Dark Chocolate dessert for my birthday! And also for our table we were given Toffee Chocolate that so yummy! The restaurant was getting filled as we were finishing our meal and we didn't feel rushed! Thank you for a great experience! read more

Booked a reservation ahead of time since walk-ins seemed pretty hard -- glad we did, because it does get busy. The drinks and sides were really good! The French onion soup was a standout, and overall everything but the meat was solid which was a little disappointing. The vibe was nice and the service was great -- super friendly and attentive the whole time. Unfortunately, the steaks were a letdown. We ordered everything medium rare -- the prime rib was just okay, and both the filet mignon and ribeye didn't have much flavor. Not very tender either, which made them feel like lower-quality cuts. For the price and it being a steakhouse, I hoped it'd be better. I'd come back for the drinks, soup, and good service, but not for the steak. read more

We had dinner here the first night of our stay at the resort, and let me say it was fabulous! The resort itself was quite a surprise as it far exceeded my expectations, but jewel of the resort is this restaurant. Everything was fantastic, from greeting by the hosts, the restaurant setting, service and food. It truly is several steps ahead of any competing steakhouse. We started with some fantastic cocktails and then moved onto appetizers. I started with the tuna tatami which was beautifully presented and tasted fresh and flavorful. Hubby opted for the caviar service which was over the top in presentation - upon delivery to the table, some added water to the dry ice made it ever so dramatic. Hubby then had the seat corn and lobster chowder, which he loved. I opted to skip this course and save room for my steak and sides. We then both had the petite filet, mine with gorgonzola blue cheese crust, while hubby opted for pure. Both steaks were cooked to perfection and the taste was out of this world! We shared the sea salt baked potato, which they split in the kitchen and provided us with our own toppings (nice touch). We also had broccolini, which was our server's favorite and grilled asparagus, both of which we enjoyed immensely. We were so full, there was no room for dessert, although the chef did send out some chocolates! One of the best parts of the evening was our server Justin. He was extremely friendly, quick to share his suggestions, and given we had no other activity planned for that evening, was quite happy to let us take our time enjoying our dining experience - which we did (our reservation was at 7:30 and we rolled out of there at 11:00). During the course of the evening other staff members were all helping each other out and everyone we encountered was top notch! I can't wait to go back! read more

High Steaks has redeemed themselves tonight! The last two times I've been here (seated at the bar), it's been mediocre, at best. This time I made a reservation for a table and oh what a difference! Early Celebration Dinner [Lincoln CA] Hubby and I had an early Valentine's Day celebration here. The restaurant is located inside the Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln. My only complaint is that it is smack dab in the middle. When coming in from the outdoor parking area where the casino buses drop off people or from the parking garage there is no way of avoiding the smoke from either direction. Ugh! We had a reservation just in case the restaurant was full but it wasn't at all. A basket of complimentary artisan bread and butter was served followed by an amuse-bouche (I can't remember what it was but it is a French term for a small appetizer served before the main course). We ordered and requested to split a 19-oz "Bone-In" Rib-Eye with the Oscar Style add-on which included: Jumbo Lump Crab, Steamed Asparagus and Bearnaise Sauce. We ordered more Asparagus because the add-on was just slivers of asparagus, and also Yukon Gold Potato Purée (just a fancy name for mashed potatoes) LoL! For dessert we ordered Crème Brûlée to share but by this time we were already so full so we took it home. Great food and service but you just can't escape that casino smoke going in ¯\_('~')_/¯ Review #0749 updated read more
