I ended 2025 at High Steaks and it did not disappoint. I have been dining at High Steaks for many years and the quality of the food and the service has always been phenomenal. The filet was prepared to the perfect temperature of medium rare. I love the tenderness of the filet. The lobster was very delicious. I do not recall the name of the dessert. The sauce was a red wine reduction and it paired nicely with the dessert. Looking forward to my next visit.

Oh My God -- High Stakes Is a Standout Steakhouse Oh my God. High Stakes is hands down one of my favorite steakhouses in the Sacramento Valley area. In my mind, the food and service here go toe-to-toe with some very serious restaurants -- even ones with Michelin stars, like The Kitchen. That's not something I say lightly. I honestly wish I had the vocabulary to fully capture what this place does so well. The texture and taste of the desserts, the elegance of the atmosphere, and the absolute symphony of flavors coming out on each plate deserve poetic language I may not quite have. Just know this: every bite feels intentional and elevated. This is an excellent spot for celebrations -- birthdays, anniversaries, or any special occasion -- but don't sleep on coming here just because you want an exceptional meal. You don't need an excuse to eat this well. That said, let's be clear: this is not cheap. And it shouldn't be. You can't expect a five-star experience at one-star prices. Come prepared to pay for quality, and you'll leave satisfied. One of the most pleasant surprises came after dinner. We were attending a concert at the venue nearby and were trying to figure out what to do with our leftovers. Without us even asking, the staff offered to keep our food refrigerated while we attended the concert. All they needed was our name. When we returned to pick it up, the service was still top-notch -- thoughtful, professional, and gracious. That level of care is rare and appreciated. High Stakes isn't just about great food -- it's about a complete experience. And they nail it.

We swing over to Thunder Valley to get away and also for some action as well. And we also had a great meal at High Steaks too.

Visited on a September Tuesday night for the prime ribs special. The moment I stepped into the steakhouse, I knew I was in for a high-stakes (pun intended) experience. Dim lighting, rich red booths, and stone pillars gave the room the kind of old-school Vegas charm. The prime rib was a winner--juicy, tender, and soaking in au jus like it was born to bathe in luxury. Every slice felt like I'd hit blackjack. The wagyu burger was pure indulgence--beefy, cheesy, and decadent enough to distract me from the wine I was supposed to be sipping slowly. Our server was friendly, attentive, and quick with recommendations. Left richer in calories, poorer in self-control, and totally satisfied.

Had a fabulous dinner at High Steaks! It is always so warm and inviting. We love the chef's amuse bouche! Everyone there is amazing! We enjoyed the gentleman's cut steak with the Dijon sauce, crispy fried onions and the shrimp!! Creamed spinach was a perfect vege side for it! The fresh bread is excellent! Delicious chocolate cake to top it all off. Looking forward to our next visit!!

The first time being in this restaurant and the first time in a thunder valley in years. High steaks presented itself very well. Our server who is planning on being Santa Claus. This holiday season for his family was amazing. He was attentive, knowledgeable and very, very helpful. When we had questions. Ordered a caesar salad this special rib eye and mac n cheese. How was amazing? The salad was prepared perfectly. The mac and cheese just right. The steak prepared perfectly season perfectly and taste it amazing. We came here to eat before a show. And this was the perfect pairing. Gave us a great night out.

I made reservations for my friend's birthday and had a fabulous dining experience with only two exceptions, which is the reason for my 4 star rating, rather than 5. Parking was very easy. We used the complimentary casino valet and even had both of our doors open for us which is a rare treat. We ordered a glass of Wise Villa Red Blend Wisdom of Wise (as Lincoln residents, we gotta keep it local!) and it's delicious! They served a very nice platter of fresh breads and butter and the crispy bread cracker like wedges were so good. Then, we started with an order of the bacon wrapped shrimp with toasted tobacco onions and it was AMAZING! They always provide some kind of sample to try and it was a some kind of seasoned grain dish and very tasty. I ordered the wagyu hamburger with truffle fries and my friend ordered the scallops. Here's where things went a bit sideways. I was facing the kitchen and saw my burger sitting under the heat lamps for over 20 minutes and right before my friend's scallops were ready, they pulled the burger down and I'm guessing added fresh fries. I should have said something but didn't want to disrupt our nice evening with any negativity but my friend felt so bad, it kind of put a damper on the dinner anyway. The burger bun was way too big and the pickle was warm and limp along with the lettuce and tomatoes. My medium cooked burger request was now well done thanks to over 20 minutes under heat lamps. I only ate part of one burger patty and my dogs enjoyed the second patty when I got home. The fries were very good! So, my main course was a bit of a bust but the dessert made up for it. My friend was given a complimentary chocolate mousse desert with a lit candle so I could sing to her and then we wanted to share the lemon cheesecake with was served looking like a real lemon. 5 stars for this dessert. Finally, they served the best tasting salted chocolate toffee (complimentary!) and it was the best toffee I've ever had. I will return and was thinking of bringing another friend but she is sensitive to smells and the cigarette smoke that drifted in from the casino would definitely not work for her. At first, I almost couldn't believe that so many people still smoked indoors but it is a casino after all. Next time I visit, I will ask for a table a bit further from the front door to minimize the second hand smoke smell and order the crab cakes, the bacon wrapped shrimp, one of their salads and of course the fabulous lemon cheesecake!

The chopped salad was very good with nice big chunks of bacon and the Salmon was nice and fresh and filling. The waiter Stefano pay close attention to our needs and made sure he provided us with excellent service. This is an elegant casual ambiance environment here. This is a setting it hard for me to explain it's a difficult to describe.

We didn't have reservations, but after having a few drinks and gambling, we got the urge for a good steak. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they were able to accommodate us for a table of 12 at 9 PM. We were sat in a private room that accommodated 12 people. It was a very nice room for an intimate dinner. We had one server and she did well taking out orders. She also had someone make sure our water and drink cups were full. We received complimentary bread and butter. Came warm. I had the ribeye, cooked well. I noticed that the outside was cooked great but the inside was more on the rare side. Once our dinner came, she didn't come as often but I did manage to ask her helper if I can get my steak to be cooked a little more. When our server came, most were done with their food so I just asked her to box it up for me after. She was nice to do so. I tried a piece of the salmon and it was very juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. As for sides, we had the puréed potatoes, which were very creamy, the sautéed spinach had a mint taste to it but needed salt in my opinion. The mushrooms I do recommend. The bacon wrapped shrimp was a bit too salty, and had a wasabi type taste. The mac & cheese was really good, he can taste a sharp cheddar so if you like that, definitely go with the mac & cheese. overall, we had a pleasant dinner. I'd recommend if you're gambling at the casino and get that urge for a steak or salmon.

I always have a great experience at High Steaks Steakhouse. Their drink selection is fantastic -- the raspberry lemon drop is one of my favorites and always perfectly made. The surf and turf is delicious, and the king salmon is also amazing. The service is consistently good and the staff is always attentive. I also really enjoy the dark, intimate ambiance of the restaurant, which makes it a great place to relax and enjoy a nice meal. Definitely one of my favorite spots to go.

Had a nice dinner at the steakhouse in Thunder Valley Casino Resort after catching a show. The service was exceptional and we were seated immediately for our reservation. The drinks were brought quickly and were phenomenal, but the food was on another level. The Yukon potatoes were delicious, but the real star was my prime rib. The cherry wood smoked flavor was amazing and perfect, the cut, cook, and season made my prime rib one of if not the best I've ever had. Even the fat melted like butter and added great flavor with every bite. If you're looking for a great steakhouse, this is easily one of the best to recommend for the area.

Last night was our first time at High Steaks Steakhouse! It was truly an amazing experience. The staff as we entered were friendly as were the waiters. The waiter took the time to take our picture. We made 5pm reservations so that we could take our time before we saw the Diana Ross concert at The Venue. When I made reservations they asked if we were celebrating anything and it was my birthday! My husband ordered the Prime Rib and was perfectly rare, I had the Scallops and they were so fresh and was pleasantly surprised that there were 5 scallops! We shared a Baked Potato and all the condiments were on the side and plenty of it! Our friends ordered the Filet Mignon and it was cooked perfectly a medium rare and the Braised Shortribs. They loved the Cesar Salad, too! The plate of variety of Bread was delicious! I loved the Cheese Jalapeno roll, our friend enjoyed a pecan roll. In the future, they should let us know that there is a bread with nuts for ones that may have nut allergy! I personally do not like nuts! I had a complimentary Raspberry Dark Chocolate dessert for my birthday! And also for our table we were given Toffee Chocolate that so yummy! The restaurant was getting filled as we were finishing our meal and we didn't feel rushed! Thank you for a great experience!

Booked a reservation ahead of time since walk-ins seemed pretty hard -- glad we did, because it does get busy. The drinks and sides were really good! The French onion soup was a standout, and overall everything but the meat was solid which was a little disappointing. The vibe was nice and the service was great -- super friendly and attentive the whole time. Unfortunately, the steaks were a letdown. We ordered everything medium rare -- the prime rib was just okay, and both the filet mignon and ribeye didn't have much flavor. Not very tender either, which made them feel like lower-quality cuts. For the price and it being a steakhouse, I hoped it'd be better. I'd come back for the drinks, soup, and good service, but not for the steak.

Sadly she never introduced herself so I can't give her the kudos she deserves. Started out with warm bread and garlicky soft butter. They serve it with the knife stabbed through the center of the bread - by the time you pull the big knife out, there is not much center left to spread the butter on. I figured out how to slather it in butter anyways. The garlic butter is something I could eat on everything! Dinner: We arrived around 6pm on a Wednesday. There were plenty of people there, but we were able to be seated right away. We ordered the pollo piccata - it was delicious, the sauce was creamy, the perfect amount of lemony, and the capers weren't too salty. The creamy potatoes were great and the veggies cooked perfectly. The balsamic ribeye - eh not our thing. Mid at best for us. It was tender, but it had so much liquid it didn't have much flavor and tasted like it was boiled. Still giving 5 stars overall because maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. Dessert: Chocolate lava cake - ours was extinct. There was NO LAVA! Just a very dense very chocolaty cake. Did I still eat it?? Yes!! Chocolate is chocolate. But if you are going to say lava I expect some lava! Drink: Josh Cab, always a hit. Strawberry Minefield (I think) dangerous! You can tell Chef Charles nerds out on coming up with all the dishes, how they work together, how they work with the season and also how the wines will pair with them. We had the Classic wine pairing which gives you a nice 1/4 glass pour with each of the four dishes. Believe me, you will be satisfied with the amount of wine you receive. Our four courses included a delicious winter greens salad with sweet persimmons, creamy goat cheese and candied pecans, a creamy potato leek soup with complex layers of flavor including a Chantilly cream and chive oil, a pork roulade with a filling with garlic and herbs paired with the yummiest apricot/mustard pan sauce, truffle mashed potatoes (with real shaved truffles!) and a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. Every single dish was scrumptious and we left feeling very full and satisfied. A five star experience from start to finish. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes. Unfortunately, the food just didn't match the upscale reputation. The blackened salmon was completely lacking flavor and the portion size was surprisingly small. The mango purée was the only thing on the plate with any real taste, and even that left something to be desired. We also ordered our steaks medium well but received them medium rare, which was disappointing considering this establishment heavily promotes its steak selections. The ambiance was beautiful and the service team truly did their part, but sadly the food itself missed the mark for me. I don't see myself returning for another meal.

Went for happy hour, and WOW, what a pleasant surprise! It's seriously one of those hidden gems…read moreespecially for happy hour connoisseur-LoL! The happy hour food selection was really solid and had that authentic Brazilian flair. We loved the pão de queijo (those addictive Brazilian cheese breads that are crispy outside and soft and cheesy inside), bacon-wrapped chicken, various skewers, and especially one of the best I have had chimichurri sauce that was bright, garlicky, and just perfect. The tri-tip sliders were a highlight too, tender, flavorful, and gone way too fast. These are not giant sliders. They're finger size but very tasty. There were other nice looking bites as well; overall, plenty to share and enjoy without feeling like you're missing out. The drinks were another win. Well made, balanced, refreshing, and hitting all the right notes (think classic Brazilian cocktails done right). That said, the selection felt a bit limited compared to some other happy hours around town that offer a bigger variety. All in all, I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the mood for some great Brazilian barbecue vibes without the full commitment. The happy hour is a good way to discover the great food, solid drinks, and a chill atmosphere. Definitely going back, and you should too before it stops being a secret!

Service was so so, probably because it looks like they close right around 2?? We didn't know that and it would have been nice to know we are getting the leftovers from the lunch rush. We wanted to have a nice lunch, instead we feel we got screwed for $100 lunch, I am still hungry and also thirsty now. Can't recommend this place, at all!!!!

Birthday dinner gone wrong…read more We came for my boyfriend's and our daughter's birthday. First part of our interaction was great. I've been coming here my whole life and it has always been one of my favorite restaurants. We got seated, immediately greeted, waiter brought our drinks quick, then the salad and bread. He took our order. Then it started to go down hill, we waited 40 minutes for anyone to show back up at our table. Meaning we sat with empty cups for 40 minutes. No refill on the bread, no one asking if we are doing ok or if we needed anything else. We moved our dishes and empty cups to the edge of the table hoping someone would notice. The waiter was talking with other servers and laughing and staring out from the kitchen area the whole time. Which I get, 3 hours before close I'm sure he was tired and had a busy shift. Then, our food comes 5/6 of our plates were WILDLY uncooked. My boyfriend ordered a lobster tail with steak. The lobster was served half cooked. What lobster meat should have been white was CLEAR. His steak was ordered at medium came rare. Bloody and mooing. My steak I ordered medium well. (Slight pink) came RARE again bloody, mooing leaving a plate full of blood. Same with 2 of my kids, kids meals. One of my kids powered through it. My toddler didn't eat a single bite, but I had already cut up her meat in bite size portions and she was already being inpatient. I figured when I got my food back I would share mine with her. The 5th plate was a burger, ordered well done (no pink) that thing was also dang near raw and leaking blood and soggy. I can understand one plate needing to be sent back to be recooked. It's a restaurant stuff happens. But 5/6? When the waiter came back over to take the plate I asked for bread. I mean I was hungry. Took 30 more minutes for them to bring my plate back, and bread. Everyone was done eating and ready to go and we still hadn't got my food. Then the manager came to bring my plate back I told him my frustrations, he just stood at the table which frustrated me more. Offered me free desert, then a card for 50$ off Which I didn't want either, I wanted to eat and get out of there. I was pissed and he is standing there staring while I'm trying to speed eat so my family can leave. So yea, we left before they sung happy birthday as the whole situation was a dumpster fire. If we go back to Cattlemens it won't be this location.

Wonderful place for a date night that gives the fancy feel without breaking the bank…read more For reference, $150 got us: -one appetizer -2 entrees -1 desert - 3 alcoholic drinks Our server, Justin, was prompt and knowledgeable. He took our questions with grace, and all his suggestions were a hit. Regularly checked on us. The food was delicious, especially for its price point. Ahi tuna nachos were some of the best we've had. I ordered the "Fit Meal" of the day (skirt steak with carrots and chimichurri). For being a "healthy alternative", it was packed with flavor, and perfect on texture. Wife ordered the scallops with risotto, which was DELICIOUS. Crème brûlée was perfectly creamy and well balanced. Drinks range at about $15 average for specialty cocktails. Given that, you get the bang for your buck. Served stiff yet well-crafted. Will definitely return for another date night, as the menu had other items we're curious on trying.

Getting my order taken and check eventually took long. My drink was delicious! That's the only highlight of my meal. The bread was good but bread is always good! I felt like the tuna nachos lacked depth. The sauces were a little over powering but the portion was good and they did give a decent amount of fish! When I shared my experience with a friend she said her service was horrible. I wouldn't come back.
