Tomahawk. It continues cooking on the hot salt block.
    Angela V.

Unexpectedly disappointing for our first visit. First off, the food was phenomenal. Salad bar was fully stocked with a variety of fruits, veggie dishes, salads, and charcuterie selections. Cheese bread is to die for. The sweet plantains were delicious. The decadent chocolate cake was the perfect ending to the meal. That being said, the service can be better. Though we were seated promptly for our reservation, we had two different servers tend to us. This may have been the source of all confusion. We specifically came to Fogo de Chão to celebrate my mom's birthday and to get the Tomahawk steak. We ordered it to share and added the market salad bar for each person. After one round at the salad bar and few pieces of cheese bread, we were ready for the steak. When our server finally brought it out, it was a Wagyu, not a Tomahawk. After informing him of our correct order, the server apologized and said that it would be another 10- to 15-minute wait. We didn't mind at first, but the wait felt longer. Maybe due to our hungry tummies and not wanting to fill up on the salad bar. The Tomahawk finally came and it was carved at table side. It appeared very rare when we had asked for medium rare. The server explained that it will continue to cook on the hot salt block. So we let it sit. We took the steak off early to avoid making it salty, but it was too early. We constantly had to put our pieces back onto the salt block to cook to our desired doneness. This was disappointing because we expected already done steak to come to our table. Because we were celebrating a birthday, we were told that dessert would be complimentary. We ordered the Chocolate Brigadiero. It came out with no candle and no "Happy Birthday" writing on the plate. After the mediocre experience, we didn't bother to ask the server to add it. Lastly, when the check came out, we were charged for the mistaken Wagyu! Luckily our server fixed it without issue, but it shouldn't have been on the receipt at all. As mentioned, the food was outstanding, but it could not outshine the repeated issues.

Omg we had a blast at Fogo this evening for happy hour!! We came to celebrate my girls bday! We had so much food. I had the gold rush and the hibiscus. We shared the empanadas, lobster and shrimp tacos, filet mignon board, spinach dip, lobster Mac and cheese, charcuterie board and beef sliders. For dessert we had the cheesecake brûlée and chocolate cake ganache. The server was Mya who was amazing. She was attentive and apologized several times as our food was late. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and the food. The ambiance is always nice. It's a great place for date night, night with the girls or friends. As always, I will be back.

I had high hopes for this restaurant since I saw the construction of it start up. Utterly disappointed. The place was jammed packed and busy. By jammed packed I mean they literally try to squeeze in as many people into a single place as possible. I even saw them rearranged tables to get the most out of a space (literally picked up tables to move them across the room). You are seated extremely close to the party next to you, no privacy. You are like a sardines with a few feet of distance between you and the party over. The environment is pretty loud, again, reflection of the overall chaotic ambiance you enter. Unfortunately, we were seated close to a corner end area across from a registered. We were often skipped when the waiters came around with the next round of meats. We were simply skipped over. Once we realized we were often skipped over, we called our waiter over. He shared he would let the servers know. However, we continued to get skipped over. The service is mediocre. Would I come again, no. Not for the price and/or service. Also, there is no dress code. My husband and I felt over dressed. People were wearing work out clothes, sweats, leggings. This place felt more like an casino buffet than a nice steakhouse.

Indulgent Churrasco Experience--Celebrating my girlfriend's birthday Shout out to Erica for being such an amazing hostess! We will come back again for another date night and left FULL, satisfied, and BLOATED with all the fresh appetizers from the Table Bar, the menu, and AMAZING dessert. 12/10 HIGHLY recommend. Amazing Ambiance, FAST service, and friendly staff.

This is our second time we've been here but this time its getting worst. The service is really bad that we did not even enjoy the all you can eat experience. There are few people roaming around to give you the meat. They are not even aware that they have never been in our table and they have been in the same other table for 3x now and there is like a good 20-30minutes that no one even came to us. Even though we told the other server that we haven't been serve for a while they just told us that they are rotating and they will come soon on our table. Its such a disappointing experience since we celebrated the birthday of our friend. So, it is not really worth the pay of all you can eat since you cannot even try all the meat hope they improve it for the better. Will not come here again maybe.

We come here regularly for happy hour, and the food is always delicious. Today, I went with the Picancha bugger which both delicious and filling. Also had the the Saucy Legs. If you like a bit of spice you love these! They are not too hot. For cocktails they are always fantastic. One thing to be be careful of is to stick to the happy hour menu for pricing. One time Iis ordered a house old-fashioned happy hour, but it was a full price. Bar service is excellent. The food service was off a bit. For example, ordered extra catchup and chimichurri sauce but they never made it to the table. But I come back yes continue to come back. Food and drink s just too good!

Upon arrival to the Sacramento, Roseville location; entering into the restaurant was a complete vibe. Gorgeous environment. Very welcoming with staff greeting and saying hello. Once seated, our server Armando explained in detail how the food experience worked. Food was delicious. Armando, made serval great suggestions. The best suggestion was the dessert! The cheese cake was outstanding! Also, have to mention how amazingly cool hair Armando had! He made sure we were well taken care of. The ambiance was very nice. Great cultural music played in the background. Round chandeliers and a beautiful dark navy blue and black decor, with gold accents; very fitting. I give the experience five stars!

Absolutely beautiful resturant located in Roseville near a spectacular shopping center with amazing views! Both outdoor enclosed patio seating & quaint indoor seating- it offers both brunch, lunch & dining services for both casual lunches + special occasions! Came here this weekend to celebrate birthdays & it did not disappoint. At first I made reservations a few days in advance for the patio seating. A few things to note- the patio is enclosed & is beautiful but it is right next to a road- and had a makeshift tent wall- so noise is not blocked out completely if that matters. I would recommend making reservations a few days in advance if youre booking for a special occasion because the tables do fill up quickly- it is a popular resturant and can be busy in the weekends. I've been to a couple different Fogo locations. My favorite special is the market table & feijodora bar (salad bar) w/ one grilled selection or meat. My go to is the picanha. Its pretty reasonable especially at lunch & after the salad bar- you'll be pretty full. The indulgent churasco is a bit more expensive especially near dinner times & after the salad bars you'll be suprised how quickly you get full. They have an amazing salad bar with exotic fruits & veggies with soups and some charcuterie board appetizers. The picanha they serve is always amazing, served table side with the most accommodating staff. Since it was my birthday they also offered a birthday dessert- I got the tres leches & it was the best! Left so impressed. Wonderful friendly staff & amazing place.

I am not usually a big Foga De Chao person since I've had bad experiences in the Bay Area... however, the Roseville location changed that for me!!! It had me taking back every bad thing I've ever said. The food was amazing. We did the all you can eat with the cold bar. The service was great. Our waiter was the nicest young gentleman who comped me a dessert. I will be returning with friends. The only complaint I have is that the tables are a tight fit to fit more tables. So when people have to squeeze through, you have to make room on your table for their butt sometimes.

I went in for my birthday. Lunch. Service was excellent. Drinks always filled before I finished it. Check up was there never overstayed. The salad bar, or what you'd call it, was INCREDIBLE. The selection was huge and the flavors were varied. Shoutouts to The candied bacon , their chicken salad, and I went in on their sauces. But from the notable not one things felt underappreciated. The true spotlight, the meats. They were good. I loved the bacon wrapped steak, the garlic steak, and the bacon wrapped chicken. The other slices felt more less tasted the same. Were they good compliments to the items I got from the salad bar? Actually yes. Would I go back for the meats? I think my next visit would be salad bar only. The inside is beautiful, clean, and refreshed from spots that seem to have collected age.

I was very impressed by this establishment after visiting twice, once with my sister and second with the rest of my family. The ambiance was dark and classy modern with plenty of seating and lighting to not overwhelming for the experience. Both times we did the full churrasco experience. With my sister's visit we did the indulgence selection that had added sides such as the bone marrow and lobster with dessert. We also made our money's worth the market table with a variety of fresh sides and parings for the meats that were served. The service overall the second time was better than the first experience with my sister's. During our first visit the servers didnt really check up on us during our visit and they had switched out on us without letting us know of the change so we had to flag down someone before realizing that person was our acting server. The second time with the rest of my family the servers we very attentive and also ready to ask what we need. Mind you, both times were on Sundays during peak hours. The meats were so delicious and well seasoned, some cuts at some point were still moo'ing but they gauchos were more than welcome to have a cut at our desired temp. This will be my go- to for some meats.

    What's the dress code like?

None , No dress code. But don't go in looking like homeless 😭

Does Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse in Roseville have a family style or gender neutral bathroom?

Not that I saw. I used the ladies room and saw a men's room. Telerific has a combined bathroom.

Is bar seating first come first served?

Yes it is open seating- could wait there while you have a reservation to be sat at your actual table.

The menu on their website, for both lunch and dinner are identical, but there's a big price difference. What is the difference?

The only difference is the price. You get the same cuts of meat at lunch as you do at dinner. It's just the time of day that's different.

Is any of the meat halal?

No it's Brazilian ??? Figo de chai Brazilian!

Do you have a kids menu?

No they don't. They ask your kid their age and if 12 or under it's half price.

Do you guys allow toddler to dine in?

Yes, very big family oriented place

I ordered the Thai Noodle Wagyu sirloin salad & my steak was very tough & gristly plus a little too rare than I liked so I shared a few of those pieces with my wife. She also agreed gristly which is a big no-no for her too. My wife had the salmon over rice & broccolini which she paid extra bc she's not a fan of cooked spinach. Her plate was very hot which kept her salmon warm to eat which was a huge plus. She definitely needed the steak knife to cut the broccolini. She was much happier with her dish more so than I was with my dish. But she felt her salmon wasn't too memorable taste wise. Our server was great & the ambiance of the restaurant was nice. We sat in a booth in the back of the restaurant. I doubt if we would return though.

We had the fried calamari appetizer and it was delicious, not greasy at all and had fried green beans and onions mixed in. Wife loved her grilled salmon entree. We both enjoyed our cocktails as well. Service was fairly good overall, although it took a long time before our server came to take our order and service was just all around slow. Very friendly though. Cons: My entree was not good. Ordered the pappardelle with short rib ragu. This was NOT a ragu as it is commonly known, it was more of a cream sauce with some meat in it. The pasta was swimming in cream. And I hate cream sauce. I never would have ordered it had the menu description said it was a cream sauce. The server offered to make me another entree but I did not want to wait another 30 minutes so I choked down what I had. Value is not good. The burger is $20, for example. Prices are a bit too high for the experience you are getting. Verdict: We may be back, as 2/3 of the food was quite good, they just failed on my pasta dish. But it's pricey, so who knows. Moderate recommendation.

Our server greeted us right away and was very sweet and attentive. You could tell she was still in training, but everything went smoothly. The only small thing I would suggest is having more napkins at the table, since we were only given one per plate and ended up needing a few more during the meal. We had originally reserved a tatami table, but quickly realized it wasn't the best fit for our group since we had some older people with knee pain. Just a heads up, the tatami seating does not have recessed flooring. Luckily, we were able to adjust to a regular table. Once we were settled, we looked through the menu and ordered a double toro roll, a wagyu roll, and a dinner bento with unagi-don. Happy to report everything we ordered was delicious! The double toro was very fresh and refreshing, and the wagyu roll had a rich, savory flavor that reminded us of a yummy steak. We enjoyed every bite. I was especially impressed with my bento box. The presentation was beautiful and the portions were very generous. The bento came with steamed egg, a fresh garden salad, assorted tempura, and unagi-don. Everything in the box tasted great. The tempura was light and crispy, and the unagi was savory and satisfying with egg ribbons in the rice. I think it might be one of the best bento boxes I've had in a long time. This occurred throughout our dining experience and we didn't feel welcomed at all. Our table also wasn't the biggest and there was no pre-bussing done to clear our dining space. Also, as a recent graduate, I brought my cap to receive a $15 gift card for their promotion. Instead, she gave a "neighborhood" discount (10% off which made it $10 off). It's difficult to explain and I wish I took a picture, but please check your math on the suggested tip. Total with discount: $98 Previous Total: $108 Suggested Tip: 20% = $20 and Suggested Total: $128 I don't mind tipping $20, but the suggested total would include a $30 tip? I don't know if it's intentional and the server wanted to pocket the discount as her tip, but it did not feel fair. We had two younger kids with us and I didn't want them to notice, so we just left after paying. We been to the Sacramento location many times, but their Roseville location was disappointing. Horrible service.

Unfortunately the food was a 6/10 based on our expectation, but Kaytee's energy, enthusiasm and personal touches made the overall experience a 10/10. We walked away smiling, happy and stuffed! We will be back, probably requesting Kaytee, and maybe trying some different entrees.

But that's not the only factor that makes us repeat customers. The F&D and the mood. Live music? Of course! For August they introduced new items to their HH bar bites. We got The Wagyu Dog and Crab Cake Bites with the Burger + Caymus deal. First time having a cheeseburger in a steakhouse. You could taste the difference between a grill and a griddle. I ordered a medium and got a medium. Not a pickle fan but loved the in-house butter pickles. The fries were exceptionally seasoned. I requested for mayonnaise and made a pink condiment with the ketchup. The California Cabernet Sauvignon that came with the Burger & Caymus pairing was a blend that I'm probably buying from our local warehouse store. It's not as expensive as it's snobbish Napa Cabernet cousin, but tastes as full bodied with soft tannins. Review's looking lengthy, so I'd just say that the wagyu dog and the crab bites weren't slackers either. Add-on note. All this plus tip is a comprehensible $90+. That's been our average bill every time we come here for Social Hour (3:00 PM - 6:30 PM).

Food: Quite good. We got the $70 for 2 meal deal and the fish was very fresh. Tuna was tender and now chewy. I think the food is definitely geared for more American palate but I'm not complaining. It's still pretty good. We ordered this seared tuna, sake fin, rolls (Annie and Marilyn Monroll), and green tea tiramisu. Service: Good as well. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times and provided help when we needed advice on the menu. Parking: It sucks! I had to park really far away unfortunately but at least I got a spot? It's probably worse on a weekend so come prepared. Overall, I liked my experience. The only things I didn't enjoy was the wait, parking, and price. Although the food was pretty good, I thought it was a little overpriced.

There are plenty of food options here I wouldn't say everything is top quality but for $25 including all you can eat crab I think that's a great bargain. They don't have a lot coming out all at once so you may have to wait or come back to see if it's been replenished. They do have sushi here, but I'll be quite honest, not the greatest quality . Plenty of Chinese food options from calms , oysters, fried fish , beef broccoli, honey walnut shrimp, basically if panda express has it you can get it here. Most of the Asian food is mediocre as I would still choose panda express if I had the option. Service is friendly, definitely a more upscale looking Asian buffet than most I have been to. They even allow customers to purchase a to go box. I would come back here just for the crabs since I can't find anywhere else in the Sacramento area that offers crab legs besides the hard rock Casino, but that's twice the price of here.

It also wasn't very busy, so we wanted to give it a fair shot. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill fast once we sat down to eat. The sweet-and-sour soup was extremely oily and had an off taste. More concerning, nearly all of the food on the buffet was cold. The only thing remotely warm was the soup. When we brought it up, the server explained they were transitioning between lunch and dinner and offered for us to wait while they replaced the food. I appreciate the offer, but that doesn't excuse having a buffet--especially with seafood, poultry, and meat--sitting out cold. That's not just unappetizing, it raises serious health concerns. We chose not to stay and eat. Again, the staff was polite, but food safety and quality just weren't there.

The lobster bites came with a lemon wedge and their house Thousand Island sauce, and that sauce was incredible. The combination of the crispy lobster, lemon, and sauce worked perfectly together. The broccolini was also seasoned really well and paired nicely with the grilled lemon. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was one of the smoothest I've had. One detail I loved was that they stamped the restaurant's logo into the ice cube. Small touch, but really cool. For my main course, I ordered the Grilled Huli Huli Chicken with a crispy rice cake, pineapple, greens, and a house sauce that completely made the dish. The sweet and tangy flavor paired perfectly with the chicken. Me and my girlfriend also shared the mac and cheese, and honestly, this was one of the best mac and cheeses I've had. It was rich, creamy, well-seasoned, and the breadcrumbs on top added the perfect texture. My girlfriend ordered the braised short rib with garlic mashed potatoes and carrot purée. The short rib was so tender it practically fell apart with a fork. Everything on the plate was delicious. One thing that surprised me was the portion sizes. Everything was very filling, and we ended up taking some food home. By the time dessert came around, we were already pretty full, but there was no way we were skipping it. To finish the night, we shared the Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and strawberries. It was the perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant was busy and lively, but it never felt crowded. The tables were spaced out really well, so my girlfriend and I could still enjoy our conversation and watch the basketball game. I also appreciated seeing Chef Q and his wife walking around and checking on guests throughout the night. They stopped by tables to see how everyone was enjoying their food, which was a really nice touch. I even had the chance to take a picture with Chef Q before we left, which was super cool. Between the food, service, atmosphere, and attention to detail, this is easily one of the top restaurants I've been to in Sacramento. Definitely worth a visit.

It was a new place for all of them, but I've been here (and the previous location) multiple times. The food has always been good and I enjoy the creative menu. As expected, everyone enjoyed the food this night as well! I had the Beef Wellington, something I rarely see on menus... so when I DO see it, it's usually on my short list. It was excellent. The broccolini was great too (it was the veggie I chose). And... the carrot cake! Bravo! I love a great carrot cake. The unfortunate negative for us? And I hate to even mention this, but it was definitely a thing for us... the musician, whom I LOVED for his talent and music... was just too loud for us. Not sure what to suggest on that. We enjoyed the music, but we couldn't hear anything else. We couldn't hear each other... we couldn't hear the waiter more often than not... the horn (clarinet) just blasted us out. We weren't RIGHT next to him, we were a couple tables away... but the same side of the room as him. In the future, I'll try to be seated further away if I'm with a group that wants to talk. I'll be back... but maybe after I take an ASL course.

The atmosphere and ambiance continue to be one of the reasons we come back. We've probably been half a dozen times over the years and I can confidently say this was my favorite visit yet. There's construction happening outside at the moment, but honestly it didn't detract from the experience at all. Tonight we skipped dessert... which may have been our only mistake. I ordered from their Mezcalito Specials menu (green) and chose the Baja Fish Tacos ($18). I like the part that it came with rice and black beans. It included two fish tacos. Since I couldn't decide between grilled or fried I got one of each. The fish were beer battered with cabbage, mango, pico, avocado | opted out of the cilantro and onion | Chipotle Aioli on the side just in case I found it too spicy for my taste. It turned out that it added to wonderful flavors on the tacos. Unfortunately, the chips and salsa was not complimentary. Purchase separately. The servers were friendly and welcoming and it made for a pleasant first time experience! There are two dining sections so don't fret when you see the dining area full as you enter the restaurant. There is also a picnic bench under covered roof outside patio dining. You won't be disappointed! No wonder they are at almost perfect 5-stars in Yelp. Instagram: @mezcalitorocklin Review #4055
