The few times that we were here, we had great dining experiences. So we decided to celebrate a double birthday celebration here with the family. Unfortunately, the experience was a bit disappointing this time around. The menu changed a bit and they no longer serve the shrimp tempura and the salmon entrees. Overall, the food was good but not memorable. The dessert was average. The restaurant strived for an upscale vibe backed by the menu price but was unfortunately not by the service. Our server seems a bit scattered and indifferent. One of our guest ordered a pour and a half of a red wine and got a half pour portion. Our little one wanted filet mignon but didn't really care for the sides that come with the entree. So the server told us they can do just the protein and it will be about $27 for the plate to which we were ok with. The food came out as a full entree with the sides. When questioned, the server was non- apologetic. Our little tyke ended up with the most expensive item on the bill at $55! We enjoyed our calamari, crab nachos, chicken sandwich, wagyu burger, sides of truffle fries and Caesar salad, and cocktails! The old school classic music that played toward the end of our dinner made us dance in our seats and enjoy our dinner even more. Seth is an excellent and attentive server. He showed me the menu because of my dietary restrictions and made sure we got our food orders in good timing because of our concert we were headed to. I went to celebrate a birthday and had a pretty good time overall. I RSVP'd ahead of time, and the vibe was fun and lively. Our server was super friendly and very talkative, which made the experience more personal. I ordered the Raspberry Lemon Drop, which was tasty but a little too sweet--it honestly tasted more like juice than a cocktail. I always order calamari when it's on the menu, but this one wasn't the best. It was overcooked and a bit burnt, so I wouldn't get it again. I also got the Wagyu Sliders--they were very juicy. Both dishes were delicious and we enjoyed both. The cocktails we ordered were also well-made, upscale, and quite strong. We got the pineapple and coconut mojito and the smoked old fashion. For dessert, we really wanted a pick-me-up so we just ordered their vanilla ice cream and berries with an espresso to make our own affogato. Had the chance to finally check it out since they were throwing a Love Island watch party which was perfect to go to right after work. My friends and I walk and were amazed on how big the place was. We were looking for brunch in the area via Yelp and were surprised to see this listed. We checked the menu, liked what we saw so we came in. We were more surprised after getting here to see brunch is six days per week, even the server seems surprised. The strong emphasis on Cajun and Creole brunch items drew us in, from beignets to shrimp n grits to biscuits and etouffee. Learned the chef is from New Orleans so expectations jumped a bit. Everything, from atmosphere to the food, was ok with a few misses. For example, 11am on a Sunday and the server presented the lunch and dinner menu with the evening cocktail menu. The brunch menu was on the other side, but this is a simple miss, if brunch is what you are serving, offer that as the emphasis. We didn't even know until after ordering that a variety of mimosas are available, that's not on their brunch menu. The brunch music was nighttime dance-party music, so an atmosphere miss. Three different brunch items included etouffee, except there was no etouffee. It was concerning when the server said the chef could make up a gumbo as a replacement. Five-minute gumbo should really never be offered. The short rib hash was flavorful, the beignets were close to 'real' and the shrimp n grits would have been quite good but for swimming in a soup of a creole gravy pooling on the bottom of the bowl, it overwhelmed the entire dish. The description mentions holy trinity, but the celery onion and bell pepper had not cooked together long enough to develop any flavor. It has promise, fun descriptions of many menu items, but nothing about the place really feels 'finishes' or done well. We'll try again soon so see how the dinner service is. read more

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Juniors in Roseville I had heard so many great things about Juniors in Roseville, so I chose it as the spot to celebrate my niece's 32nd birthday dinner. Unfortunately, our experience was incredibly disappointing. We were promptly greeted by a friendly hostess and seated on the outdoor patio, which started things off on a positive note. However, the service quickly went downhill from there. Our server--whose name I can't even recall due to the lack of connection--was inattentive and made us feel like we were a burden rather than valued guests. Every request was met with hesitation, and we had to repeat ourselves multiple times (three or four, in some cases) just to get basic things corrected. Out of a group of eight, several of our meals were poorly prepared: * The sausage was raw. * The French toast was raw. * The fish and biscuits were among the worst I've ever had--the biscuit was literally as hard as a hockey puck and completely underseasoned. When we asked the server what was going on, his response was, "I don't know what they're doing back there," which only added to the frustration. We did speak with Chris, the manager, who initially seemed interested in the feedback, but while we waited for our check, he was more focused on laughing and chatting with staff than checking back in with us. As someone with a large following, I make a point to share both positive and negative experiences--and unfortunately, this one falls into the latter. Everything about the sea bass is small, 5 petite baby potatoes, 4 slender asparagus spears, and one tiny 2.5 inch by 1.5 in sea bass cutlet. I tried to eat slower because my husband got the southwest pasta with shrimp but then my sea bass was getting cold so that wasn't the right move. So I got to watch him eat his main as I sat still hungry. Had to go drive thru on the way home :(. The southwest pasta with shrimp was only a little smaller at $28. The restaurant is certainly a nice venue. The service was good. Our server basically told us that 70% of the menu was good and popular by mentioning a lot of them individually. (Perplexed by reviewers here with only one or two reviews providing 5-stars.) Most of the table ordered brunch items. The dish that came out late was ironically the one salad entree. Seems the expo was a bit overwhelmed at the pass, and also because the mains seemed to have been completed at different times (The salmon for the salad was why the salad came out late and last?). The biscuits for one of the entrees was overdone. It was likely at least a day old. Their catfish is fried along with their "fan favorite", hash brown patties which is a highly recommended substitution. It may have also come out of a frozen bag but at least it was as good as a McDonald's hash brown, which we're fans of. The hollandaise for the benedict was watery, not thick or creamy. It may have come out of a package. The lobster option that goes with the benedict is fried but not to order. It was resuscitated out of a frozen bag. It was the only component not hot/warm on the plate. Add to that, rubbery and bland. It only looked good on the menu (seems they have a new one recently). Relieved that the poached eggs was done right. The rib option for the benedict, however, was good but you still have to deal with the hollandaise sauce. It's a good menu that we were initially excited about but underwhelming once you get your food. Probably a good idea to order the simpler items that might be be cooked well, at least. I saw a photo of crunchy tacos but was not expecting such an elegant looking restaurant on a Wednesday night. I just got done skiing all day and was definitely not dressed for such a nice restaurant. The food was priced fair and the plating was spot on. I enjoy the fried pickle spears as an appetizer because I have never had it served like that before. We also ordered lamb and pork chops and it was delicious. The lamb could use a lot more seasoning, but I enjoyed it with the sauce provided. It has a feeling of a nightclub that hasn't grown up just yet. It just doesn't feel like a place to go for a dining experience. We were greeted by the seating, hostess and seated at a table near the wall.. They apparently have an upstairs, but it's unclear to me as to if it's for dining or something else. Most of the seating is against the wall, wrapping around the restaurant with large tables in the middle. it just feels The waitress immediately showed up to our table, and she was extremely offputting. We had even been given menus, and we both felt like she was pushing for us to order drinks and appetizers. When she realized we didn't have menus, she brought two over, and both of them were filthy , both inside and out. Covered with food stains and I don't know what else. We both were perusing through the menu, and the waitress was back again, practically insisting that we needed to order something to drink other than water. Her very demeanor made both of us uncomfortable, and had it not been for the fact that we had an event that we were going to after dinner, we probably would have left. Just added to the bad vibe that both of us were getting. I looked at previously posted YELP pictures of the food and realized that many of the items are no longer on their current menu. The pictures of the sushi/poki nachos, not only made the dish look very shareable, but the portions seemed very generous. He ordered the nachos, and I decided to order a burger with fries. When the food arrived the serving of nachos was definitely a lot smaller than the posted pictures. The burger on the other hand looked like something from the golden arches with an unnecessary extra bun in the middle. We both quickly swapped dishes. The poki nachos were interesting. This happens to be one of my favorite go to dishes when I find it served at restaurants. This absolutely missed the mark. It lacked the umami flavor, and the sprinkling of edamame made it worse. The edamame was barely cooked. Then someone decided to throw some iceberg lettuce underneath the nachos I guess to create the little bit of height that it had. I won't eat a mound of food, this definitely was not what others had experienced. I did try a bite of the burger, and a couple of fries. He tried my nachos and was glad that we had swapped dishes. The truffle fries were actually very tasty, but the burger was a mess. I don't know what they wiped the buns with but the flavor definitely not tasty. The meat was overcooked to the point where it tasted like they cooked it from frozen and it was just prepared to quickly. It was tough and frankly just not great. Not a great food experience, and add that to the weird vibe of this place, and neither one of us has an interest in going back. read more

Arrived at 2pm, place was pretty empty. Service: Slow as molasses. Waited at the hostess stand for quite a long time. Then waited to be seated. We had to get up to get the check and pay. Maybe slow since it was after lunch. Luckily we weren't in a hurry and understand we were there after normal lunch hours. Bartender seemed to be the only worker, clearing tables, waiting on tables, making drinks, and cashing people out. He was super friendly. Food: Beet & salmon salad 7 out of 10 Need more cheese to break up the beets Salmon was cooked perfectly and the size of the salad was large. Junior burger 8 out of 10 Nothing bad and nothing amazing - just a normal burger Fries were beer battered (not my preference) Ranch was on point Bartender let us taste the Bloody Mary mix - it was DELICIOUS.
