Large open space in a lonely shopping area. It appears this place may have used to be an Italian restaurant based on the decor. Food was decent for breakfast. I ordered a lunch sandwich and the bread was soggy so a lil disappointing. Service was excellent. Christine (spelling) was very hospitable.

This is our second time being at this little place. I love how cute it is decorated. The food is wonderful and the service is amazing. Today, hubby had the country Benedict and I had a build your own omelette with some cheesy hash browns. If you are in Rocklin and have a chance to eat, I would recommend it. Only thing is, they do get quite busy.

Coming here for 20+ years, always reliably good food, large portions, and a "cozy" vibe inside. They are very good and welcoming for families with kids. Menu has large variety of breakfast and lunch options. Limited outdoor seating, plenty of onsite parking.

This is my third time trying this place and never again how is this French onion soup?

Sign near entrance. It is a storefront in a strip mall.

A very interesting place... I came here on a whim being nearby and wanting lunch. Once I saw the name it was immediately clear to be a place I have had coupons mailed to me with a bunch of ad flyers. I was immediately greeted and seated in a comfortable part of the restaurant. The place is larger than expected The menu is rather ordinary, yet quite broad for breakfast or lunch. For lunch there's the usual array of sandwiches, salads, burgers. I chose a tuna melt with a side of cole slaw. There's a choice of sides besides slaw- fries, salad, fruit, tomato slices, cottage cheese. It seems to harken back to a bygone era most appealing to seniors (I am one!) The tuna melt was excellent on a thick crispy parmesan bread and chocked full of a delicious tuna blend and avocado, some slipping out the sides. The cole slaw was some of the best I have had in awhile, flavorful, fresh and not swimming in runny mayo dressing. My dining partner had the Philly cheese steak sandwich that looked awesome. It was HUGE, full of meat, melted cheese, peppers and more. A stack of fries that appeared quite delectable. Both meals were substantial, yet also on the pricey side yet worth it. Service was very friendly, efficient and on the ball. When it became apparent our sandwiches could do us in with just one napkin the wait person immediately brought more, being attentive, without our asking. I do, in jest, have to comment that something in their affect, effeciency and demeanor made it seem like they were created by AI. The only downside, and the loss on one star, is a desperate need for a interior makeover. The place looks very dated and tired, and in some ways not very clean. I could have taken off more than one star for it, but the food and service made up for it, albeit an unimaginative menu.

My husband and I joke about how this place hoards the top servers in Roseville because in all honesty they all rock. We became regulars here because not only is the food amazing, their entire staff is top notch. We have yet to be served by anyone who's not insanely friendly and kind and attentive. The ambience gives traditional American breakfast at an old American diner. My favorite thing to do is search for hidden objects in the painting on the wall. They have a beautiful painting on one or their walls and the artist adds new hidden objects every once in a while, so we look for hidden characters while we wait for food/eat. Their food is relatively cheap considering the large portion sizes and great taste so this is place became a favorite that we go to at least once a week.

It was my first time here. The food was amazing and the service was the best I've seen at any place in many years. The Bird's Nest Benedict was amazing and really 2 portion compared to any other restaurant. The Louisiana omelette was huge and big enough for two and packed full of ingredients. The fish and chips were so delicious and the fish (two pieces) was lightly battered with a beer batter and a perfect portion for one. I highly recommend this place and I'll be back!

Bold flavors, expert preparation, pretty on the plate and generous portions. Bambie had the 1/2 chicken fried southern style. Crispy ouside, soft and moist inside. Side of mash potatoes, side of perfectly sauteed carrot slices. I had a cesar salad. Fresh, crisp, again a big portion. The dressing was a perfect blance of creamy, piquant and a tad peppery. The croutons were crisp and flavorful. Best Cesar salad that I've had in years. My main dish was the pork carnitas tacos. Topped with heaping mounds of shredded cabbage. Creamy sauce on the cabbage. A side of mild-ish chipotle salsa served on the side to pour on the carnitas. The tacos were so big that they were almost too unwieldly to hold. But I persevered and gobbled them like there is no tomorrow. Satisfying. A big hungry guy will be perfectly happy after polishing off the plate. Wine selection is small but has the usual good suspects in the reasonable price range. Mostly California wines. I live 2 miles from this place. Tonight was my first visit. Oh yeah I'll be a frequent return customer. Highly recommended.

We had no reservation and ask the tables were full. He said we could sit at the bar immediately, so we took him up on it. I asked about an old fashion and he said it was his favorite and a specialty of the place. He was right! Next we met Brett, the mixologist. My wife got a vodka cranberry and I got my old fashioned. I asked about the whiskey and he said it was Whistlepig 10 year. Next we asked Franklin about special dishes and he suggested the southern fried Mary's chicken with bacon gravy , which my wife ordered. I ordered the bacon fig jam burger with Brie cheese. Of course we had to have the pesto fries! Everything was 5 stars! We also met Q and Graham . Every single person we met was very friendly and welcoming. We also met Nate. He was at the bar and a regular here. Very nice as well. My wife and I both agree this will babe one of our favorite, go to places.

We were seated in the patio in the shade, so it wasn't too insufferably hot on this very sunny, warm day. Jägerschnitzel is my go-to at German restaurants and the one at Kathrin's is one of the best I've had to date. My plate was generous and the jägerschnitzel was tender, the spätzle was too, and the mushroom gravy that topped the jägerschnitzel was just so good. I cleaned my plate. I also got one of their small pretzels to start the meal and loved how soft and chewy it was, and the mustard had a good punch of spice. I thought it was cool that their pretzels are sourced from a local Bavarian factory. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the dressing on the green salad that comes with the jägerschnitzel. I'm really not sure what it was and can't say I've had anything else that tastes like it before, but it was strong and I was good after just a few bites. However, that wasn't enough to ruin the meal for me with as good as that jägerschnitzel was. While I was only here because I was visiting family who live in the area and recommended this place, I'd be happy to return if my family wanted to come back on a future visit.

We found that they served the dinner menu all day and there was no lunch menu. We ended up ordering the Oktoberfest platter, which it was made up of five sausages, schnitzel, red cabbage, sauerkraut and french fries. 4 of the 5 sausages were extremely dry and over cooked. Schnitzel was dry and flavorless. It seemed as if they had heated everything up in a microwave. Overly hot and very dry. Happy hour started at 3PM and we arrived at 2:45. That would have given us a discount on food and beer. But we figured oh well, our bad for not realizing. We commented on it to the bartender / server, like "oh darn" and he didn't really react. It was not like we expected to get the happy hour prices, we were just commenting. Then, unfortunately, we overheard him talking to two men at the bar, saying "I waited until 3PM to ring up your beers because I wanted to give you happy hour price." Yikes! Why not us? (Only us and these two gents inside at the time. There was a handful of people at outside tables.) We are disappointed because we had enjoyed them before and they are the closest restaurant to us serving German food. The food and the service that day are not very motivating to return.
