Pequeno Burrito Bowl--only asked for cheese, carne asada, & rice (takeout)
Alma S.

It had been a while since we last visited, but we decided to do an online order to pick up lunch on a Saturday. Our order had a ready time of 15 minutes. It actually ended up being 10 minutes past that time. As we waited, we saw a burrito go out to be served at a table, but it was no one's order & carried back. It was actually ours & it finally got sorted out. We were offered a couple of free fountain drink beverages because of the wait. I appreciate that the to-go containers are wrapped in plastic wrap to protect from liquid spillage. The restaurant is small inside with close quarters seating at tables & booths at some odd angles. Large windows add brightness. There is more outdoor seating in front. Fountain drinks are self accessible & a bar with chips, salsas, & lots of accompaniments is self serve. Our order-- -Steak Chipotle Ranch Burrito with customizations, wet -Triple Item Combination Plate with Adovada Enchilada & 2 Chile Verde Tamales, black beans, orange rice The burrito was yummy, customizations were correct. The adovada was delicious, the enchilada sauce is uniquely tasty. We love the moist tamales with the pleasantly acidic & tender chile verde. Black beans had good texture & taste, & the orange rice is flavorful, but cumulatively the bites eat a little salty for me. We really like the large variety of salsas & accompaniments available, but the chips were mediocre & felt stale Overall, some tasty, satisfying food can be enjoyed here.

If you're not watching, they'll put minimum meat. Stay alert.

Update: I normally go here on the evenings for dinner but today 3/30 I went in here for lunch because we had a house guest we wanted to take out. The girl making the food was kind of all over the place. Definitely made portions a lot smaller if the person wasn't watching. She made my chili verde burrito more into a "rice" burrito and sprinkled in some meat here and there. Very disappointing. I'll only go in the evenings now when more experienced people are working.

I've been ordering from here for years. I found them on DoorDash and always thought the food was so good. I finally came in person a few months ago and it is even better when it's fresh! The workers are always on top of it and give you quality service and food. I get the combination plate with pozole every time I go and it's my favorite Mexican place in the area by far. The location is ideal and they keep the restaurant clean!

Amazing experience! My brother owns a retail store across the street and is a big supporter - now I know why! My barometer of a great Mexican restaurant is always the chips & salsa. I went crazy with the homemade chips & salsa & fresh guacamole! My mom's dog was welcome on the patio- adorable sign out front even says so - as long as the owner is well behaved! Must order: carrot soup. Incredible. Fantastic lunch : my veggie burritos were filling. Thought I wouldn't be able to finish them along with the delicious rice & beans. Ate it all. Attentive service and thoroughly enjoyed everything! Look forward to returning to see my brother & having margaritas next time!

Loved my chimichangas! With the Verda sauce! And of course the big ice cold Coors light!

Well took some time off from this place. We weren't very happy last time. This time however was awesome! The service was top notch and the food was delicious! We will start coming back!

I thought this would be a full-service restaurant with waiters, but it's more of an order-at-the-counter and then sit-down setup. Don't let that stop you from trying it though--the food is incredibly authentic, some of the best Mexican I've had in a long time. The chips and salsa bar is a great touch. The outdoor seating was fine, but I'd probably choose takeout next time. It has more of a relaxed lunch vibe than a dinner spot.

I just love Don Quixote's! Excellent tortas, tacos, burritos and pozole. Great salsa bar with many varieties of salsa and fixings. You walk up and order at the counter, there's plenty of indoor seating with booths and tables and a large patio. They've recently opened a bar and it offers a dine in option. The service is excellent. The margaritas and cocktails are really good and you can sit down and order from the menu. The creamy cheesy beans with the chips and salsa is so good! Definitely give it a try

We also ordered nachos and a kids' quesadilla plate. The service was excellent--our waitress was fantastic. The ambience is always really cool, and the restaurant is usually very busy, which says a lot. I also appreciate that I know these items are gluten-free because I've had them several times without any issues. Highly recommend!

May 15, 2026, my 5,000th check in. Now, you know that I get out and about a lot, so here's my…read morereview of Zocalo at the Fountains from my point of view. We talked to our friends and agreed that 6pm would be a good time to meet for dinner. My girlfriend called and they didnt' have any reservations available for 6pm.I called around Noon to see if we talked to someone else we could make a reservation at 6pm. They were very polite over the phone. The didn't have any reservations at 6pm, but they had a table for 4 at 6:30 pm if we didn't mind sitting outside. I took the reservation with the hopes we could get seated earlier. Their outside and inside dining rooms are about the same size. We arrived at 6pm hoping to get seated early and by 6:05pm the entire party was here and we were seated 10 minutes later at 6:15pm. We were seated a the first table out the side door against the wall. This worked great at I was able to put my package on the grown next to the wall, it was out of the way, but I could still see it so I didn't forget it. The fans were on over all the outside tables but ours. It was cool/warm enough to be comfortable in slacks and a T-shirt. No sweater was needed and I wasn't sweating either. The ice water was really nice. Soon as we were seated they laid us out menus. Shortly after chips, salsa, and bean dip were delivered. Then after a little bit the waters arrived. Our server asked for our drink orders while we looked at the menus. I ordered the Chile Relleno: Battered poblano chile stuffed with Jack cheese and red chile pork sitting atop black bean puree and serrano salsa. Topped with slaw and queso cotija. It was very tasty, but lacked cheese. I did not enjoy melty jack cheese oozing out of the pepper and that's the whole reason I ordered this dish. Tower Cafe in Sacramento makes it right. Their Chile oozes with melty jack cheese. The black bean purée must have melded into the Salas as I didn't see or taste it. It was topped with slaw that I enjoyed. It gave the dish a little crunchy. The red chili pork was very tender and I didn't notice any fat. I would not order this again My husband had the Salmon Machamantel Atlantic salmon, mole manchamantel, grilled broccolini, jicama slaw. I found the salmon to be very pleasant. It didn't taste fishy at all and I'm very sensitive to fish. The Mole sauce was non descriptive. The broccolini was cooked to perfection, not too cooked that it was limp and not undercooked so it's too firm. He would order it again. Cilantro Rice- All the meals came with the rice and it was very tasty. It was kind of odd that it was on a separate plate, but it made sense as there wan't room on our dinner plates. Presentation was lacking. We shared the Caesar Salad. It was very tasty, but awkward to eat as the pieces of lettuce were huge. They served us the entire leaf. Bathrooms- It was a small bathroom with only two stalls. If you need to wait it would be better to wait outside like I did. It was a bit awkward. The bathroom was well supplied and pretty clean. Flushing is an issue. The toilet doesn't have a lot of flushing power and it took my 3 flushes to get the seat covers to go down and not leave debris. Parking: We parked near Pet Food Express, which was close to the restaurant. It looked tight, but after we drove around we found lots of spots at the back of the lot. There is no close parking spots so if you have a hard time walking this can be an issue. Their downfall, the flies. There were so many flies swarming us that it was uncomfortable. I hope the other patrons were't dealing with the gigantic flies that were swarming our table and landing on our table and food. I searched other reviews and I'm not the only one who was swarmed by flies. Ambiance. It was ok, the music was loud and it was hard to hear each other as we chatted and caught up. I think there is more ambiance inside with the decor.
