This restaurant is beautiful! There are tons of servers and waters are constantly being refilled. Our server Cassandra, was an absolute gem. She was so helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and her personality was just perfect for this atmosphere. There was 3 of us.... For drinks we started with a crisp prosecco and a Movement IPA and a bottle of painted fields zin from Amador county- oh my what a delightful red. They had this cool thing where they bring you a little shot of this delicious and I mean delicious mushroom soup for a pallet starter. I can't even describe how great it was- except I wanted more and they should sell it by the bowl. For first course we had the Caesar salad that was perfectly dressed with cheese and fresh crunchy garlicky croutons and it also came with an anchovy . Wonderful salad. The gnocchi was delicious soft and pillowy with english peas, preserved lemon, fried black pepper and parmesan cream. YUM! We also had the purée of white cream corn soup- that came with spanish chorizo and potato croquette, roasted red peppers and cilantro crema - kind of like a lukewarm temp- every bite was very tasty! For the entrees we had the sweet corn agnolotti- which is buttered maine lobster, morel mushrooms, english peas and zucchini basil purée - it was so light and refreshing! The almond wood grilled filet mignon-caramelized shallots, creamed spinach, pomme pavé and bone marrow jus was delicious and cooked perfectly. And then there was the star of the meal, the crispy duck confit-morel mushroom farrotto, local bing cherries and caramelized cacao nib jus. JUST WOW. The presentation was stunning & the flavors of this dish were just as stunning. You should try this. I finished off my dinner with a struck by a smooth caramel-salted caramel infused vanilla vodka, frangelico, dark chocolate liqueur, espresso and salted caramel cream - it was good but not a must get. We got a couple of desserts to go : the hawks bar-layered chocolate candy bar, peanuts, vanilla bean gelato - it is like a luxury snickers - delicious! And we also got the peach cobbler galette-twin peaks yellow peaches, pâte brisée, vanilla bean gelato. It was very very good however it tasted more like an apple pie with peaches on it rather than a peach cobbler- no complaints it was very delicious. Delightful experience. Delicious food. Yum.

My dad, Erwin, J Kingsley having one of the best meals of his life when on hospice thanks to the manager and the chef at Hawkes.

I need to give a shout out to the manager and the Chef on staff tonight. I called requesting the short rib for my father who needs to have very soft or puréed foods on hospice. I had been in a little over a month ago on a date and tried it myself and thought it might be something my dad could enjoy in his final days. The dish has been changed a little bit and it was not being served with mashed potatoes, but this Manager and the Chef went above and beyond to get my father an enjoyable meal when many of his senses are gone, and Food is one of his only enjoyments left. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for giving my dad this pleasure.

We stopped into Hawks for a date night the day after Valentine's Day and had an exceptional experience. The atmosphere was elegant and welcoming, making it the perfect place for a special evening out. Our waiter was amazing and truly made the night memorable. We had great conversation with him, and he shared that he was moving to Arizona. He recommended several dishes for us, and every one of his suggestions was outstanding. The food was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and prepared with incredible attention to detail. The service was attentive, the cocktails were excellent, and the overall experience felt special from start to finish. Hawks is a wonderful spot for a date night or celebration, and we look forward to returning. Highly recommend!

Went to Hawks to celebrate my birthday with my parents and wow, what an experience! We all decided to do the multi-course tasting menu, which changes every month. In total, we received 7 courses including the hors d'oeuvres to start with and the mignardises to end with. Every single course was elegantly presented and tasted delicious. The accoutrements were divine and really complemented the fish/meats well. The service was attentive, albeit slightly slow to start. It must have taken at least 20 minutes for us to place our order for the tasting menu. They must have been finishing up with a big rush of people. I did really appreciate that they were able to slightly alter the menu for my mom who is gluten-sensitive by either omitting certain items or replacing them with something gluten free in a creative way. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is elegant and cozy as soon as you get inside. We were seated right next to the window which has a view of dozens of trees, so it actually feels like you're in a middle of a forest.

Adding a new review for our most recent visit to Hawks. In my head I contemplated a lot whether i should update my existing review, and decided to do so with the hopes that things improve. Review is for Mother's Day dinner. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Our server, Shad, felt like he was either upset to be working on a Mother's Day or just not wanting to serve us. The prefixe menu was also pretty average. Cruise ships serve better food than what was being brought out. Except for the burrata appetizer everything else was mid. Filet Mignon was salty. The lobster ravioli had an overdose of salt (maybe it was just saltwater) Will definitely not come to Hawks for a precise meal.

We came here to celebrate my daughter's new job with the state, and it was such a wonderful experience. We arrived a bit early for our 7:30 reservation, so we sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple glasses of their cabernet, which was incredibly smooth. Ambiance was casual and cool. Once our table was ready, we brought our drinks over and were treated to a complimentary mushroom soup served in a shot glass--so creamy and smooth with just a hint of mushroom flavor. It was a lovely touch. We shared a charcuterie board featuring a variety of duck mousse and liver combinations along with different spreads, all beautifully prepared. We also ordered the shrimp appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. For our main course, we had two orders of the short ribs and two short rib burgers. Everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly. I especially appreciated how attentive our server was in ensuring my meal was completely gluten-free. I was too full to try dessert, but the rest of my party enjoyed theirs--be sure to check out the photos!

Hawks is our go-to restaurant in Granite Bay. They deliver phenomenal food, service and ambiance every single time. The restaurant is beautifully laid out, you don't feel too close to other tables and the whole restaurant is clean and well thought out. Servers are very knowledgeable about the menu, what's fresh and seasonal and due to some medical restrictions we're able to accommodate changes to each dish. The amuse bouche at the beginning of the meal is always delicious and often they will serve hand made candies or chocolates before you leave. We cannot recommend Hawks enough, it's become a family tradition, exceptional flavors and service.

Great service from the staff, most notably, we really enjoyed chatting with the sommelier. Tried the tasting menu which gave us a good synopsis of the menu, which changes every so often given the focus on ingredients. If you can't make a decision on what to order, would highly suggest trying out the tasting menu. Ambience was pretty good here on a Saturday night. A good mix of all kinds of people. If coming here in the evening on a weekend would recommend elevating your outfit beyond business casual. All around a great experience.

    Holly H.

Been to this restaurant multiple times, and this last visit showed they're as great as always. This is probably one of the best elevated restaurants in the area. I got a pine-apple mocktail (sweet but still very drinkable) and the tagliarini entree. Since the rest of my party ordered a first course, I got a complimentary soup (in addition to the complimentary potato soup they serve in a skinny glass) from the chef so everyone is able to eat together. The entree was actually pretty filling despite the main protein just being some mushrooms (there was a pretty good amount of pasta despite the portion initially looking small because of it being neatly piled). They gave a complimentary sweet treat at the end of the meal (my party also added a couple of desserts to share, the pecan tart was smaller than I expected but still good). The sorbets have a wide selection of flavors too (we got the black currant flavor and the mango flavor). Would highly recommend this restaurant!

Recently got engaged here! Mike, the owner was so accommodating and helpful with setting up the special evening and Cassandra was FANTASTIC executing. We had a private and intimate setting which added to the special occasion. Cassandra provided the most amazing and memorable experience - memories to last a lifetime. Oh, she said, "Absafuckinglutely" The cuisine was the best I've had anywhere. We have since been back, a week later, with a "continued engagement celebration". I can't say enough how great this place is. MUST GO!

Delicious dinner to celebrate a special occasion. The service and food here is unmatched yet not pretentious. Well prepared, quality ingredients and service you won't forget.

Finally I have found a restaurant in these parts that rivals the experience of fine Napa or Sonoma style dining. Other comparable places do exist here, however, Hawks is just one step above the others. We came here to celebrate a birthday and the entire experience was wonderful, start to finish. Atmosphere, service, food... everything is exceptional. It has a cozy high end country feel to it, well appointed and tastefully designed and decorated. Tables are nicely spaced for private conversation. There were quite a few children, surprisingly, yet not at all intrusive or bothersome. I suspect big scoops of ice cream helped. The reception staff were extremely cordial and friendly and we were seated immediately for our reservation time. Getting a nice cozy corner of the restaurant was perfect. The menu is varied and enough choices to satisfy most tastes, with even a burger. There's an extensive eight course tasting menu with wine pairing that looked amazing. It just was too much food for us this particular evening. Unlike my usual tap water we had a sparkling water from an English estate that was surprisingly refreshing. Much better than tap! A hearty and crispy edged bread and butter arrived immediately and was replenished as needed. There's a bread board and station right in the middle of the restaurant, with an intriguing crumb drawer, for convenience in serving it. I was amazed at the incredibly creative cocktail menu. Apparently it changes often. I tried the Cashew Me Outside, with coconut infused gin and OMG it was awesome. Light, frothy and not too sweet. A perfect spring into summer drink. There's an extensive wine menu with so many choices it's nearly mind-boggling, including my favorite Cab, a Shafer Hillside Select, but at the price point it wasn't going to happen. Plenty of other good choices. They brought an amuse bouche of a mushroom soup in a small glass that was simply tasty and so well made...a great way to start the menu. For starters I had the Asparagus Salad, also well made with a light dressed. The asparagus were thicker than I'd expect but ever so tender and perfectly grilled. I ordered the Duck Confit for my entree on cous cous and greens. The flavors, textures and taste were excellent. The duck was not overly greasy which is all too often the case with a dish like this one. It had plump cherries that complimented the dish so well. I was quite content. For dessert we had the Ukranian honey cake. It had strawberries and a sauce that was delicious with it, and a whipped cream. Quite good it was a very nice sweet finish to the meal. I had a espresso with it, double shot. A nice rounding out the meal. The portions and price point were right on tatget. Our primary waiter and the entire staff were exceptional. Professional, engaging and very much making for a top notch experience. The only glitch, and not a big one to take major issue, was I really wanted a glass of wine with my entree and couldn't get the wine list until more than half way done eating it. I did finally get a glass of Sauvignon Blanc pronto, so all was good. I have to say that the experience was so delightful and good that I definitely will be back.

If there is still a Happy Hour, what days and times is it?

Hi Paul! While we don't have a dedicated Happy Hour, we do open the Hawks Bar daily at 4:30p for guests who would like to come in a bit earlier.

I know they say vegan options and they could accommodate, but are they actual good vegan options? Is there a vegan plate for all courses or just entree?

    Minimal vegetarian selections.

    Is there a dress code?

It's a nice restaurant with white table clothes, but I've never felt judged for my attire. If you feel like dressing up nice and having a date, do it! If you feel like wearing something simple like a t-shirt, that is fine too. Go and enjoy yourself…

Do they still do the prix fixe Sunday supper?

    Not any longer

Do you need make reservations to eat at the bar?

No. The bar is open seating.

    Are you open on holidays?

Closed on New Years Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day

How is takeout from Hawks? Any dishes you'd recommend NOT to do takeout? Any stand-out dishes that were great as takeout? Thanks!

Everything at Hawks is amazing I have had almost every item on the menu and it's all delicious. The take out was just like sitting down in the restaurant just with out the wonderful ambience.…

Do any delivery services pick up here?

How much is corkage for one bottle?

We bought a bottle of champagne so they waived the wine corkage. Otherwise I believe it is $30.

How many parking spots are available?

In a shopping center plenty of parking

My biggest compliment to this place though is that they serve a great coffee while being a full breakfast restaurant. I usually find places with great coffee and some small bites or full breakfasts and meh coffee so Mimosa House having both a bomb cappuccino and a great breakfast is awesome! The wait for the food was also a bit much considering 1/5th of the place was full and we waited an hour from sitting down to getting food. She also agreed gristly which is a big no-no for her too. My wife had the salmon over rice & broccolini which she paid extra bc she's not a fan of cooked spinach. Her plate was very hot which kept her salmon warm to eat which was a huge plus. She definitely needed the steak knife to cut the broccolini. We had the fried calamari appetizer and it was delicious, not greasy at all and had fried green beans and onions mixed in. Wife loved her grilled salmon entree. We both enjoyed our cocktails as well. Service was fairly good overall, although it took a long time before our server came to take our order and service was just all around slow. Very friendly though. Cons: My entree was not good. Ordered the pappardelle with short rib ragu. This was NOT a ragu as it is commonly known, it was more of a cream sauce with some meat in it. The pasta was swimming in cream. And I hate cream sauce. I never would have ordered it had the menu description said it was a cream sauce. The server offered to make me another entree but I did not want to wait another 30 minutes so I choked down what I had. Value is not good. The burger is $20, for example. Prices are a bit too high for the experience you are getting. Verdict: We may be back, as 2/3 of the food was quite good, they just failed on my pasta dish. But it's pricey, so who knows. We're in Roseville quite often & will keep RANGE on our list of spots to enjoy. Will try dinner next!

The food, drinks and ambiance all hit at Range and I'll be back for another Wine Wednesday because…read morefor the price of 2 glasses of rosé, you get an entire bottle! We tried almost all the specials, including cioppino, a peach, garlic bechamel, arugula, prosciutto, balsamic pizza and chicken parm and enjoyed everything. The chicken parm had the right amount of breading- was lightly crispy on the outside with tender meat on the inside. The pizza had that farm-to-fork fresh flavor and the house ranch was a nice accent. The cioppino looked inviting and was nicely seasoned and flavorful. My friend thought the rosé sounded good so we ordered 2 glasses. Our awesome server told us they have a Wine Wednesday deal, so we ended up ordering the whole bottle and it was fire; we agreed we'd order it again. They have a nice room in the back for private parties or for anyone wanting to look at the beautiful landscape behind the restaurant and the whole restaurant in general is a nice setting for dinner or drinks (they have wine, beer, n/a and soju cocktails). Parking-wise, they share a private parking lot. Cheers!
