This is a complaint about the rudeness of the staff, with seating. My husband and I made a month in advance reservation for Valentine's Day for their Valentine's Day menu. Arrived on time @5:30pm, all sections available, they set us up in the middle of the restaurant, where there was the most food traffic. Although we called and asked them to note that we like to sit next to each other, and asked nicely for them to move away from the middle of the restaurant- to somewhere more intimate - the floor manager told us "no we can't move you and that everything is set up the way it is." The way it was handled by the floor put a disgusting taste in our mouth and we left, zero accommodation was made or even offered. This is a stark contrast from the other times we have ate here. read more

Sadly I am pretty disappointed. Went here with really high hopes for our celebratory dinner and the food was not good... Waiter was great. The porkchop was so tough after chewing for over a minute had to give up on the bite. Overcooked and tough. Outside was pretty blackened and burned Drinks from the bar were pretty slow as well. Whole life only sent back to the kitchen maybe 2-3 times but honestly it was awful. Was hoping to try the tasting menu only to find out it wasn't available when we got there... Atmosphere was pretty bad as well. A super loud group was at the bar and they just let them go and said nothing to quiet them down. Reserved a table a month in advance only to get sat right next to the door and got hit with a cold breeze every couple seconds. Drove all the way from Downtown for this and it was definitely not worth it. Overpriced and not disappointed by the food quality. read more

Hawks is on the Michelin Guide. It is located at the Quarry Ponds Town Center, so there is plenty of parking. If you don't have reservations, you can try your luck at the bar. It was a bit noisy inside, but we were seated behind the bar. I was looking forward to trying the taro mocktail, but was told they no longer have that drink. I ended up with a cocktail instead. They have an extensive drink menu, but they are quite pricy. We were given bread and butter. I wish the butter was softer so that it would've been easier to spread. Then we were given a complimentary amuse-bouche. It was a shot of yummy mushroom soup. For my first course, I had the tombo tuna aguachile. It had a nice heat to it from the liquid. I also liked the cute mini fried tortilla that added a crunchy texture to the dish. I tried my bf's white dog farms beet salad. The beets were great and I enjoyed the roasted cashew butter it came with. I had the lobster and burrata girelle (lasagna roll) for my entree. It was beautifully plated and there was a good amount of lobster. We were too full for dessert, but were given pate de fruits and chocolate bon bons to help us celebrate our anniversary. The pate de fruits were too tart for me, but I loved the bananas foster bon bon. I want to know where I can find more! It was a sweet end to the meal. read more

We came here yesterday to celebrate my brother's birthday. Upon arrival we were off to a bumpy start.. the two bartenders saw us and did not acknowledge us, the hostess McKenna was not up front. Once McKenna did Come out she did not acknowledge us either and rather addressed the lady that came in after me. When she finally acknowledged me I advised our reservation which we were about 15 min early for, as we drove an hour to get there and did not want to be late. The restaurant was empty and she said I'll see if I can get you seated early. We sat and patiently waited then 2 parties came after us with the same reservation time and seated immediately. McKenna was extremely unprofessional, she should not be the front of such a nice establishment. The food and waiter were exceptional! We had the steak tartare, filet mignon, short ribs and wagyu burger. We all loved our dishes. I ordered the espresso which was very sour but everything else was delicious! Overall we had a great time. It was just unfortunate to start my brother's birthday by feeling dismissed to the point of wanting to leave. read more

I made reservations for 6 for my mother in laws birthday dinner . The hostess greeted us, and took us to our table right away . All tables have white cloth covers I even seen a young man, Ironing one of them with a cordless iron. I have to say this is definitely fine dining . This restaurant is considered French /American . As soon as you walk in, there's is also a nice bar area on your left side . The ambiance is romantic and elegant. Our waiter was okay but, a young man name Nick was brining the plates and anything we needed he was helping the waiter I believe a busboy ? But he was more then that !! He was very attentive got us refills he also talked to us about desserts and made our experience very memorable. Thank Nick !! We started off ordering drinks they have a pretty cool cocktails menu with unique drinks (That's my Jam )was my favorite drink I have to say we tried a few all delicious! My mother in law got red wine they have a huge selection of wines to choose from . For food we started off with the purée of white corn soup and white dog farm salad both super delicious!! My two sons came with us which are ten and seven the waiter informed us they have three items that are not listed on the menu for children which are - chicken tenders, kids gnocchi , and a kids burger . My seven year old got the kids potato gnocchi I tried it so good . My ten year old got the adult wagyu burger with fries he loves it . Hubby got the duck confit my other two guest both got the chicken pitman chicken farms which had mole in the chicken let's just say everyone loves their food . I got the short rib plate wow !! so tender just melts in your mouth ! For dessert we shared the beignets, lemon blueberry tart, and the chocolate soufflé that came with a candle and also written on the place with chocolate was Happy Birthday such a nice touch for her birthday she loves it ! Overall this was a wonderful experience definitely a restaurant to celebrate something special events . Very elegant nice fine dinning . The three of us had the tasting menu on December 30, 2025. It was beyond delicious- the small servings were perfect given there were so many of them. I cannot recommend the tasting menu enough. Also, the service was so attentive and made the dinner even that much better. We spent just under 3 hours enjoying one of the best dinners in all of Sacramento/South Placer County. Although we enjoy the Kitchen, Hawks tasting menu was, in my opinion, a bit better dining and tasting experience. read more

We're so happy we chose Hawks to celebrate our 38th anniversary. Our server, Mike was excellent. He had the foresight to have my Caesar salad turned into a chopped salad, making it easier for me to eat with a bum arm. Mr. S totally enjoyed his potato gnocchi. Being a duck fan, I ordered the Liberty Duck Confit. It was excellent and I particularly liked the pickled peaches on the side. He had the truffle mushroom cheeseburger and fries. I can say the fries were perfectly cooked crispy on the outside soft on the inside. I washed it down with one of the specialty cocktails, the Big Lebowski. This was the perfect light choice to go with my meal. When we arrived just after opening, there were already several tables filled. By the time we left the place was packed and getting a bit noisy. We went to Hawk's for the first time on Christmas Eve. The food was delicious and elegantly presented. We thoroughly enjoyed the set menu that the restaurant had prepared for that evening. Our server was very attentive and answered all our questions as we enjoyed the different courses and wine pairings. The restaurant is very elegant inside, but friendly enough that children were comfortable being there Christmas Eve. We have gone to Hawks for the last time. The medium rare steak was dry and brown throughout. My wife's seafood was heavily salted. The wait staff was unsupportive. It's too bad because this was a good restaurant a couple years ago but something has changed over the last year and a half. My wife and I have dined at Hawk's in the dining room more than a dozen times and another 8-10 times in the bar. We have gone to Hawk's as a couple, and in groups of 4-12. Each time, our experience has been excellent in all respects: food, beverages, service, and atmosphere. We have always been seated promptly. Once seated, a waiter/waitress comes by promptly to take our beverage order and offer bread. The food has always arrived at an appropriate pace for our needs, and promptly, considering the amount of work that goes into the dishes. The preparation of the food had always been excellent. Perhaps most memorable are the soups. The wild mushroom soup we had at Hawk's is the best soup I have ever had anywhere (restaurant or home cooking). The short rib dish is ridiculously delicious. The Red Kuri Squash Agnolotti dish was possibly the best pasta dish I have had anywhere, and I have dined in Parma and Bologna. Hawk's specialty cocktails are creative and I rate them 10/10. The staff are extremely professional and knowledgeable, including waiters/waitresses, bartenders, and the two managers we have spoken with. I can't think of another restaurant in the greater Sacramento area that has such excellent service. Even though we have high expectations at Hawk's price point, somehow the staff manages to surprise us in a good way on occasion. Their server, Cassandra, is the best server I have ever interacted with. In fact, I see that she is given accolades in others' Yelp reviews. The physical space is comfortable, tastefully appointed, and the noise level is not intrusive. I find the Hawk's dining experience to be close enough to perfection that I have difficulty imagining what I would suggest for improvement. read more

I was swept off my feet as part of my birthday surprise, and we started here with an amazing dinner. Service is top notch, and the food... oh so delicious!! Truly one of the best meals that I've enjoyed in the greater Sacramento region. We were seated and presented with an amuse bouche. A perfect way to start off the experience. The cocktails are on the smaller size, but perfectly balanced and presented. Presentation is huge, and everything from cocktails to dessert, was presented perfectly. Two words: filet mignon. It's a must try. The steak was so tender, that it practically didn't require a knife. The mushroom sauce, was a perfect accompaniment. The house made gnocchi is mouthwatering deliciousness, that will make you crave more. For dessert, we shared the Hawks Bar. It's like a snickers bar, but kicked up several notches. It's perfection in every bite! This Granite Bay restaurant is truly an epicure's dream come true! Reservations are a must. Parking is free. While it tasted good and fell off the bone, duck shoulder never be dry considering the fat content. Wine by-the -glass pours are skimpy. 2 glasses would equal one glass at most other places. I called them before to make a reservation for two and then when I was on my way I called them to ask because one other friend was coming with us so I asked them to add one more person to the reservation and the host was very friendly. Got there and were seated. The interior design looked elegant and beautiful! Zack who was our server came to take our orders. The menu looked beautiful and there was another menu for a prix fixe menu which honestly I wish we got it! First they served the complimentary bread and butter and they also served this complimentary soup in a small glass, I think it's the wild mushroom soup but i'm not sure, nonetheless, it was delicious! For appetizers we got purée of cauliflower soup, caesar salad, and the potato gnocchi. They were so good and yummy! For the entrée we got the duck confit and two slow roasted short rib.
