Nice restaurant on the river in downtown Folsom. Full bar. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice breeze inside with the fans.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Outside seating along the patio has umbrellas and views of lake natoma.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Husband enjoyed his Cubano. My fish tacos were good. Need more salsa than that tiny ramekin. Kid enjoyed his cheesesteak.

My daughter and I came here for Father's day. We had no reservations but it was a 15 minute wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated just at the edge of the indoors but not on the balcony so the partial views were still good of the lake.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was loud with rock music playing in the background and people talking loudly. We didn't mind it as this is a casual dining place[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We orderd a bucket of crawdads (crawfish), caesar salad, and a skewer of beef and shrimp. The crawfish is 2 lbs but listed as a starter. They're messy and they gave us one napkin each. We asked for many more! If you're never eaten them, the real meat is in the tail. Caesar salad was good The skewer of steak and shrimp was good but we felt it should have been larger. We'll be back and try some other items on the menu and when they have live music.

I had the Cajun grilled chicken sandwich. I thought the sandwich was pretty good. I subbed cheddar cheese for provolone. Instead of fries, my sister and I opted for a side salad for an upcharge. It was miniscule, It came in a small container and my sister and I couldn't believe how small it was. Considering they charged us extra, it was pretty ridiculous, to be honest.

I went to Crawdad's on the Lake on a Sunday afternoon. I definitely recommend making a reservation if you want patio seating. It's such a great spot to hang out with friends, especially on a nice day. We started with the Cali-flower wings, which were okay. They were battered and fried with the buffalo sauce on the side, but the pieces were pretty large and a bit awkward to eat. I would've preferred smaller, more bite-sized pieces. For my meal, I had the crab grilled cheese, and that was a standout. It was super filling and had way more crab than I expected (a great surprise). It wasn't overly cheesy, which I appreciated. I ended up only eating half because it was so hearty. Service was friendly and pretty quick, especially for a busy weekend. Overall, a fun, casual spot with a great patio. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

I came on a Sunday when they had live music playing and it was such a vibe! The service was super attentive and quick considering there were so many people. My crab grilled cheese was tasty and very filling. I was only able to eat half and got the other half to go! Aperol Spritz was okay- it lacked the sweetness I'm used to but they made it without it being on their drink menu so I appreciated their flexibility! Hearty serving for dessert. Could definitely be shared. This place is definitely worth a visit and in a great location to enjoy the shops downtown afterward which is what we did on our girls afternoon.

I had a really good dinner at Crawdads by the Lake as Cajon food is some of my favorite. Crawdad's is in a great location on the edge of Folsom Lake and has indoor and outdoor seating. I enjoy outdoor seating the most but since it was late,l and a bit chilly outside, I elected to say inside. Their seafood pasta was fantastic and would definitely eat it again-I am sure I will go back for more. My top self margarita was OK (I am a bit picky on my margaritas as I make really good ones at home so can't be too picky). The bartenders were great and they had really good service. The bartenders area is a great place to sit if you are there during game day. Their menu has plenty of appetizers and beverages to choose from. Great place to stop in if you are in the area!

January 31, 2026 - Folsom, CA . We pulled into the parking lot at 4:15 on a Saturday and my first thought was, "I'm so glad we made reservations." The place was packed. The noise level inside was very loud, so I was especially happy we had reserved an outdoor table. Thankfully, it felt like a spring day in January--sitting outside was very pleasant. From our table, we could see the live band and really enjoyed the music. As other reviewers have mentioned, the service was below par. Our server was friendly and likable, but it was obvious she was overextended. There was a long wait to order a second round of drinks--long enough that they arrived after we were mostly finished with our meal. I ordered the steak and shrimp skewers with a house salad ($26), and it was a perfect meal for me. I appreciated the simplicity of just steak, shrimp, and salad. I ordered the steak medium; it came out closer to well done, but it still tasted good and I would order it again. The view overlooking the bike trail and the water was amazing. I never imagined we'd be sitting outside in January without coats, but that was the case. All in all, despite the service issues, we had a good time and really enjoyed the setting.

Very confused why this place has a 3.2/5. My first time here and everything was incredible. Staff was friendly, food was delicious and the ambiance was stunning. The top dishes were the Creole burrito and the Cajun pasta. The creole burrito was filled to the top and every bite was full of flavor. The Cajun cream sauce for the pasta was next level as well. I will come back for sure - not only for the food but for the ambiance and the friendly staff. Easy 5 stars

Went up to Folsom for a couple of days for the holidays - place was nice. Service was good, ambiance was okay, and food was solid. My party went here for lunch. We order the rotational IPAs, Bloody Marys, Chips & Queso, Crab Grilled Cheese, Fries, and Cauliflower Tacos. Food & Drinks were consistently solid. The only downside really was the food took awhile to get to us and the queso should've been hot instead of cold but seasoning was on point. Overall 3/5, solid place to watch a game and have drinks/food. Though nothing blew me away food/drinks were good and bartender/servers were friendly.

Clean (minus the clutter on the bar top) . Some local beers and ciders on tap. Outside seating area was spacious. Fries had a great seasoning. Chicken strips were big. Cons: did not feel very welcoming. The main server seemed like she was not wanting to be at work, and continued to make snarky remarks back and forth with the cook that we were able to hear. The inside needs a refresh with the decor imo. I feel like it could be amazing if they followed through with either the prison or dam theme more. Smoky inside and needs more ventilation. **adding that after reading reviews, I don't love how the owner addresses concerns toward visitors.

My only complaint on this Sunday, June 21st, is that after the initial basket of bread (which had exactly four pieces for the 4 of us) we were told by Reece that the restaurant charges $2.00 for each extra piece of bread! I was shocked, and frankly, it's an insult in my opinion, that Rudy's is so "cheap" about the bread! For all we pay for our dinners, asking for extra bread should not be a problem nor an extra charge! That really is a shame because now I am hesitant to consider bringing friends to Rudy's. I hope management will reconsider its' position on the service of bread.

This is how a music festival should be done: half a dozen venues in a single behemoth hotel, with minimal walking between venues, in contrast to the Sacramento music festival Memorial Day weekend spread out over a mile of downtown. We made reservations for all four days of the Labor Day weekend, and arrived at 1215pm, checked in, got our room, and followed the Ophir Prison Band from the opening ceremonies at the lobby to a formal ballroom, with a 80+ folding chairs lined up. You know it's a zany group, when the band leader wears an oversize windup key mounted atop a helmet, saying wind me up to make me go! Band wears prison blue shirts and pants, with the words 'Ophir Prison' spelled boldly in back. Don't want to give anyone wearing such a uniform a ride in your car! Band plays lots of marching music, mixed in with classics like of the Sound of Music, throwing rubber ducks at the audience, while playing Swan River. Band leader could be a stand up comedian, with all the off color jokes! Big band swing music from the 1940s -before my time, and before your grandfather's time! Speaking of audience, the wife and I are among the youngest, and we are in our early 60s! Geritol generation, with 99% white -both in race and hair color! I'm the only nonwhite in the audience -well I wore thin white crisscross strap sandals. Wife says they look like ladies sandals, but nobody bats an eye! We get a quick lunch at Twigs café. Next band we catch up with is Shelly Burns band. Shelly is wearing red sandals in a mini skirt and looks great for her age -wish my wife could wear that kind of skirt on our days out on the town! She's a great singer, very animated, and the band does a mean impression of 'Duke, Duke, Duke of Earl!' Full house, with late arrivals like us forced to stand up, holding up the wall. Banjo players galore. Third act is Big Mamma Sue playing the washboard with a quartet including a piano player, a sax player and a banjo player. I'm a big fan of banjo music, and soak in the vibes in the RJ Bar, along with a 100 others, with 4 overhead TVs broadcasting the Giants' game. Great ambiance with full length windows stretching over onto the roof. Fourth act is Gator Nation, a Cajun-Zydeco music group, with music in French, just like in the old days. Group features an accordion player. Fellow Chinese Rick Quan lead guitarist, with foot stomping music rocking the stage! Now this is why we came to Sacramento, to enjoy music like this! They finish up with Jambalaya, the music, not the dish! We drop by Twigs café for dinner, and check out the Giants losing their 7th straight. Final act for the night is Stardust cowboys, a country western group. They are here because they play Western swing traditional tunes. Mandolin, accordion and fiddle players, in cowboy hats and cowboy boots, except for Vicki Campbell, female vocalist barefoot, with her toenails painted green. Definitely a group to watch out for at the other Jazz festivals! Western favorites like Deep in the Heart of Texas, finishing up with Happy Trails to You. Group does a rendition of rap music of the Beverly Hillbillies theme song black oil, can you believe it!? Saturday we get to Tom Rigney's show a half hour early, but all 500 seats taken or worse yet, saved when we get there. Tom in his cape and red cowboy boots rips up a storm on stage, including House of the Rising Sun and Orange Blossom Special. Lines for the women's bathroom, lines for the elevator from bottom floor to 1st floor, and lines for the truck lunch wagons serving Mexican and hamburgers! I'm dressed in shorts and sandals for outside temperatures in the 90s, but it is as cold as a meat locker inside, with the AC on full blast. Checking my toes for frostbite! Sunday at 630pm, Tom Rigney's show is half empty -everyone getting out of Dodge! A guy sits two seats away, tries to get up and is stuck. Bubble gum on his seat, and now its on his pants! He laughs and asks me if I put the gum on his chair. I say no, as I would never do that to a complete stranger. Now if I knew him a little bit better, than maybe! His girlfriend sat in the same chair and no stickum on her behind! Well she's not that familiar with him, as she doesn't pinch the gum off his behind! Water dripping onto the dance floor. The bar upstairs has been running the dishwasher nonstop the entire day, due to huge demand, and sprung a leak! More information at www.hotjazzjubilee.com!
