Came here for a kiddo's birthday party in Folsom. Designed to be a play area for your kids to run around and use their imagination, with a cafe area that has workspace available if you're looking to do some work-from-home work. It's not a quiet workspace, so be aware it's probably not great for meetings. The play area is pretty large - tons of multi-story structures that are safe and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of places to duck and hide and accessories/toys/costumes that kids can play with and use. There are a few party-areas in the back where you can host a small gathering, and the staff is very helpful with setup and take-down, removing a bunch of the headache from the parents for the day. You are welcome to bring in outside food, which is great so you're not stuck w/ cold reheated pizzas if you don't want. There are plenty of large carts to help shuttle things back and forth from your car. Would recommend checking this place out if you have toddlers and little ones that are looking for a new play-house to explore. read more

Busy Kids just recently celebrated their 13 year anniversary! My 8.5 year old giggled when she played Pin the Tail on Elly the Elephant, she opened her eyes and it was on her ear! She was excited about the Face Painting and chose a Yin and Yang symbol! The Scavenger Hunt was a lot of fun finding things to check off the list, she chose an animal print slap bracelet as her prize! At their bar and Coworking Cafe you can order a variety of drinks, snacks and entrees, with plenty of indoor seating, including a high chair at your convenience! For lunch we ordered the Black Eye, Princess Glitter Milk, Mini Board, Soft Pretzel, Applesauce, Lunch Bunch and Grilled Cheese Tomato Soup from the cafe! My family of 4 enjoyed lunch, best grilled cheese and soup made a good dip! At this fun indoor play place kids and parents can play make-believe in the best way possible in variety of mini town themed areas with costumes for each career! My eldest especially loved dressing up with mommy and playing surgeon in the Veterinarian Hospital and taking care of a baby in the house! Our 1 year old couldn't get enough of the play structure, she enjoyed sliding belly first down into the fun ball-pit lol! They had a variety of push-cars, but her favorite was the Y Bike since she could ride it independently! We'll be back to explore more! This is such a fun indoor playground for younger children. It is nice that the age limit is 10 years old. I am not concerned that older children will accidentally run into or push my kids. There are multiple rooms with different activities, such as a racetrack, basketball, ball pit, and other pretend play activities. The caramel macchiato is really good. What a gem!!!! Indoor play area. Imagination focused. This place is perfect for our little grandchildren. I suggest the prime ages for Busy Kids is 9 and under. They have it set up like a little town (kitchen, store, home, music room, post office,etc). There is a ball pit area and a slide. There is a place to get something to eat or a coffee. Excellent place to leave a Grandpa while grandma is off playing in the play area, or vice a versa! This place feels safe! The workers are very sweet and helpful. I think the price of membership is extremely fair! We bought the winter special for four of our littles!! It's going to be great during the rainy season!!! We had a birthday party at Busy Kids over the weekend and had a wonderful experience! The staff were attentive and all the kids at the party had a good time. I have also been a few times for open play. I was pleasantly surprised at the menu. Their lavender matcha was really good and better than any local coffee shop. This place has gone downhill BAD! Visited this evening and I can't believe our experience, wondering if it changed ownership, it was terrible! $50 wasted on an extremely poor experience, the toys were all dirty, there was not even half the amount of toys there used to be. The place was trashed, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The bathrooms were disgusting, I wouldn't even change my baby in there, toilet paper holder broken on the floor, toilet paper and urine all over the floor, dirty diapers just sitting on the changing table, soap didn't work, something burning in the bathroom (in a children's bathroom!). The front desk was not friendly at all, overall terrible experience and we will not be back. This place used to be SO fun and cute, gift shop in the front (which is no longer there), friendly people, clean and fun, those days are gone. 0/10. read more

This is our first time back to BusyKids since the pandemic, and so our first time in the new location. It's so wonderful! All the fun of the first BusyKids village with even more space to explore, secret tunnels, rooms beyond rooms, ladders to climb and slides to slide. My three kids, 9, 6 and 4, all had a great time for 2 hours, and would gladly have kept playing. They left making plans for which of their birthdays they could come back for, and the next school break to visit. The cafe space for grown-ups is nicely separated from the play area, and has many tables and chairs with a beautiful coffee bar. At 1:30pm there weren't many other families so we felt like we got to rule the roost! We loved Busy Kids. It was a great place for my daughter to have some imaginative playtime and make new friends. Came here for a birthday party my son was invited too. You better sign that waiver or else! I was asked 3-4 times if I signed the waiver before going in. I understand for safety purposes but it was a tad annoying. My son had a good time overall. The birthday party was a success for the birthday child. The employee cleaning up the toys wasn't the friendliest but it was early in the morning. I did not get any food but I saw someone who did. It looked dry and lack luster. May want to avoid. I don't have to defend myself to these outright lies but I want to make sure that all of the other parents who come here to look at reviews see it. I called twice on Sunday, I have proof of that in my phone records. I called once on Monday to ask what time you close. My calls did not cause a scene, that implies I was in the store causing a scene. I received one reminder at the 8 minute mark. I was purposefully getting our belongings out of the party room by noon, walked out at 3 min after. Several people were helping, it's not like we were just sitting there being malicious as you seem to think. Do you have cameras? Please post the video of me causing a commotion, because that is not what happened. I waited patiently, told the employee what I was there for, and they went to retrieve you. There was no commotion. I also never yelled, I asked your employee what your statement and action meant when you said "I'm sure you are" and walked away. I asked what was going on. Nor did I call you any names. I said nothing of my jury duty in the store. Lol. When your employee texted me, I simply stated I would look for the email when I was no longer occupied with jury duty that day. I have proof of that text too. I'm confused about what report your employees gave you about me - you, Jessica 'Brooke', were the one I was speaking to each time. I came here for a birthday party. As soon as you walk in, they have you check in and take off your shoes. EVERYONE takes their shoes off regardless if you're playing or not. Even adults, so bring socks. The staff were all very nice and super helpful. It's a very cute set up inside for the party area and the area where the kids play. The cafe area has drinks and snacks. Adult drinks too! I stuck with my coffee which was very good. Everything was very clean including the bathrooms. They even sell local handmade items. I would definitely recommend this place. Held a birthday for my now 4 yr old and the service was excellent. They have a call button you can use to ask questions and they helped us decorate. We were able to bring in decorations as long as they weren't balloons. Any balloons need to be purchased through them. They offer different packages to add. Just ensure you understand there is a service fee that does not include tip. We were able to bring in cake and other food for the adults. My son had a great time and so did the other kids. In the future I would recommend at least 3 hours instead of 2 because 2 wasn't enough time to eat and play and cut the cake. You have to leave the facility right away, but the staff clean up the mess which is nice. I wish they had someone oversighting the children's play area because some parents don't watch their kids and some are toddlers to about 9 yrs I would guess and someone might get hurt. You call them to see if you can work something out and are basically told there is nothing they can do to help you. I came across this place when I was on Yelp looking for toddler friendly activities and play areas. Playground AND coffee shop, count us in! We came around 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon and it was surprisingly pretty empty, only a few other families there. It didn't start getting more crowded until we left around 4:00. It was our first time there but they assumed we had been there before and didn't explain anything about pricing or rules. Apparently, you need to have socks, or else pay for $4 socks with your entrance fee, so there was an extra $12 that we could've avoided. I didn't see anything about that on their website or Instagram, smart on their part to make extra money... They didn't say anything about time limits although I thought their website said admission is for two hours. They don't give you wristbands or anything so I'm not sure if the two hour limit is a thing or not. Each kid is $12 and one adult is included in that admission price. Each additional parent is $5. I realized it was a bit silly since we were taking turns going in to the play area with him anyway, because the other person had to stay back with the stuff in the coffee shop seating area. I asked a worker if next time we still had to pay for the $12 + $5 if only one of us was going to be with our son at a time, but she said that we still have to pay for admission. So basically we still have to pay that $5 if one of us is just sitting in the waiting area. Seems kinda silly, but I guess they would have to do that otherwise it would be hard to keep track if parents are switching off if it was a busier day. The actual play spaces are cute. It's all closed in with a gate, so you could let the kids roam freely if they're old enough, but there are seats in most rooms and a few couches in the back area near the ballpit. Each room is decorated differently, and there are tons of toys to play with, and even a big and small slide. There was one area where they had stairs up to an arts and crafts themed room but I didn't see much supplies besides a few pieces of chalk. There are tons of play costumes for kids to dress up in each room and they can really let their imagination flow. They have a coffee bar here also so you can order that when you're paying for admission. There is no actual menu though, the guy just said "you can order whatever you want, anything you'd normally make at home we can make for you here." Not sure if I enjoy that freedom or if I just wish they had some kind of menu to base my choices off of and customize from there... our caramel macchiato was pretty good though. They weren't really clear about where we could take it, it was in a sealed mason jar but we assumed you couldn't take it in the play area, so that's why my husband and I switched off. Later I heard them say you could bring the drinks inside but to be careful...so that whole time we could've both been with our son. Staff were pretty nice and they were cleaning up toys and returning them to the correct themed room often. They checked on us multiple times in the coffee area asking if we needed anything and if we were enjoying our time. I saw a few party rooms so I think they offer birthday parties as well. They could definitely benefit from being more welcoming and descriptive to first-time visitors but we learned a lot (the hard way) from our first visit. It's a great way to spend a few hours and for our son to play with some new toys that we don't have at home. After admission, one coffee drink, and the socks we had to purchase, it ended up being a $30+ visit. We'll definitely be smarter about it next time and bring our own socks and make sure we both get our moneys worth for admission. read more

I was looking forward to bringing my daughter here, but unfortunately it was a lot messier than I expected. I don't know if I need to lower my standards for these things lol I totally understand that kids are inevitably messy while exploring, but every room I went into looked like it hadn't been cleaned all day, and there weren't any kids in these rooms. There were things all over the floor and it just looked messy in general. I see that there are many other recent positive reviews for this place though, so I'm hoping I just came on an off day. It also wasn't that well-ventilated throughout the building. When I first arrived, I heard another parent ask the cashier if they could increase the AC, or something to that effect. When I walked to the ball pit area a few minutes later, I understood what that parent meant as it did feel muggy and warm. My 20-month old daughter only spent 30 minutes here and wanted to leave, but maybe she was just in a mood. Booked a party for my daughter and had the worst service. I have booked parties at multiple places and always had help and great time management, not at this place. They had the pizza sitting out for over an hour, no help in the party room, not enough plates or napkins and we had to keep finding someone for more. Apparently there was a "help button" we weren't notified about. They threw away our cake and cupcake box so I couldn't save the rest to transport them in. I asked an employee twice for help to gather party members and no help. The list goes on. A two hour party and over $500 later, save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I received a gift card and finally checked this place out recently. We arrived just around opening and was one of the first groups in. It was a bit cumbersome to sign the electronic forms but overall the staff was very friendly and patient. Your kids need to sanitize their hands before entry and then they get to run loose. Throughout our time here, I saw a variety of kids' ages. In my opinion, I think age 3-5 is probably ideal. Older kids will still enjoy but I think its more little kid oriented. It got pretty crowded after an hour and the toys were all over the place because kids were being kids. Overall, it was nice for me to sit at a table and relax for a bit while my kids got to place. The concept it great but I wish there was more seating for adults in the play area in case you wanted to have a closer eye on your kids. read more

Maya was extremely rude to my family. My 5 and 3 year old got yelled at for running from across the building. Couldn't even come up to me or my husband and professionally say "We don't allow running here". Don't know what to expect from a child herself so... Mind you we were also the only people here. If it's a rule then so be it but we read the contract and there's nothing mentioned about running. Also wanted to add that Maya got snobby when we asked if that was a rule (was curious if it was a preference because she was with her baby?). We had my daughter's 4th bday party here and it was wonderful!! She had an incredible time playing and celebrating with friends! Everyone made my daughter feel so special! Cinderella came to the princess themed party and was truly magical! My only complaint is the expense: far more expensive than I would have liked for the wal mart food, balloon tower and bundle, 2 bottles of champagne and a coffee pot. However - the coffee was good, the kids ate/liked the food/cupcakes and there was minimal waste. The goodie bags were also awesome for the kids! I was given an itemized price list, so it's probably more on me for not asking more questions regarding price stuff. Team was good at communicating via emails and calls. Tips for future families booking parties: be sure to bring your own extra decorations to set up/take down in addition to whatever decor you purchase, worth paying the 50$ outside vendor fee to bring some of your own extra food/drinks! Be sure to watch the clock to avoid extra charge (50$ fee for every 15 minutes over) and DEFINITELY get a character to come to the party. The place is cute but I feel like I definitely overpaid and I won't be doing another party here. One thing that frustrated me is in the "pricing notice" it states, "To maintain competitive pricing and ensure fair wages, a 16% service charge is added to your transaction, replacing the pressure of traditional tipping." When reading this, it is assumed that this charge covers any tipping and it does not. Also, the staff was helpful in the beginning but I had guests tell me that at times they were rude and at the end, we were rushed out and threatened with a late charge if we aren't out of the facility in time. It felt really overwhelming and stressful, especially since one of my friends was breast-feeding and her kids were still running around while I'm trying to rush everyone else out. We have been back a few times since my last review. At our last visit we were the only ones there when we checked in. It was not cleaned up despite there being multiple staff at the front. A little bit later a woman came to look around for a potential birthday party and the staff said "sorry it's messy the kids had fun this morning" if the staff know it's messy they should clean up. Also we are members and asked for the monthly gift (usually a small toy or bubbles) that it says the membership comes with. My son is three and he had fun playing here. The aesthetic is cute and there is a lot for toddlers to do. I appreciated the theming for the different areas and the potty seats in the restroom. For the price, you get an hour and a half to play which was plenty of time to check everything out. Three stars because we got sick after our visit, and there were a couple of kids playing that had a cough while we were there. This happened after our visit to the Roseville location as well. They do provide sanitizer before entering, and of course I recognize that getting sick is always a risk when around little kids. The coffee area in the front cute, and I bet an awesome addition for tired parents. There were two moms sitting and chatting there who were not watching their daughters (who were around five years old). One of their two little girls told my toddler he couldn't go up the ladder in the ball pit and shoved him. I told her "no thank you" and that everyone is allowed to play. A few minutes later she got a traffic cone a put a stop sign in it and told my son he couldn't come into another play area. This time she was in an area where her mom was able to see what was happening, but did not intervene. I would say the kids who have a tendency to be unkind to others should require supervision. Though that is on the parents and not the business to manage. Most parents were supervising their kids and promoting kindness and sharing. I would not recommend BusyKids for a birthday party. We planned our son's 1st party here and it wasn't such a great experience. The place was super busy, which makes sense for a Saturday but very disorganized. Shoes were everywhere near the front door when you check in. Staff were rude to my sister and mom who were trying to help setup. Very little setup help from party fairy's and when you tell them that the balloon colors are wrong they just say well that's what you picked. They don't even look into it.
