I am vegan and hadn't heard anything about what they were serving. They have an open kitchen, which I love, so I walked right over and asked. They were very friendly and accommodating! They told me they would make something for me, and when it came time to plate up, they would have it waiting. WOW! It was delicious! I am a new mom and don't get out much. That was the best meal I have had in a long time!!!! I still think about it. I'm sad it's not your typical restaurant where I could order it again. I just want to say thanks again to the chef, and the rest of the staff for a great night! Thanks!

The staff are extremely helpful and easy to work with, which always makes a big difference on event day. The venue itself is beautiful and serves as a blank canvas that allows you to decorate and design it however you'd like. I really love the modern aesthetic. From the outside, you'd never guess how stunning it is inside. It looks more like an office parking area at first glance, but there's plenty of parking, which is always a plus, and the location right off the freeway is super convenient. Once you're inside, it's absolutely gorgeous. There's even a separate cocktail hour room, which is such a cool feature. It can get a little warm at times, but the design more than makes up for it. There are leather chairs, black and brick backdrops, and beautiful garage-style doors that add a lot of character. The exposed brick walls give it that warm, modern industrial vibe that looks great in photos. The bathrooms are also very clean, which is something guests and vendors both appreciate. Overall, The BLOC is a hidden gem of a venue. I'd be excited to attend another event there as a guest or work one again as a vendor.

The volunteer staff member was a pleasure to do business with. In addition to the historic, beautifully maintained hall, there is a very pretty back yard with charming lighting. We rented it for our daughter's graduation party, and wished we had known about it for my son's wedding as well. I definitely recommend it for small to medium events. It makes a nice presentation and experience for guests. We will use them again if the need arises.

I am an ordained minister on the side, when not working my normal M-F job…read more I recently ordained a wedding at American River Grange. The place used to be the city hall located in Rancho Cordova. The outside looks like a small wine tasting room or a schoolhouse. The parking lot is rather small and no parking is allowed on the street. Alas I was able to continue driving and the next right brought me to a larger parking lot on the back side of a school. Enter into the ground of American River Grange. The ground are beautiful and on this windy day it still proved to be a beautiful ceremony. Roula was the wedding coordinator and she was fabulous. She was very attentive to details and the staff she had working with her were like a well oiled machine- they seriously made my role in the wedding that much easier. I look forward to hopefully doing another wedding there in the future.

Absolutely amazing to work with…read more I had my wedding reception here May 20th, 2019 (the ceremony was at a nearby winery). Alice and Halley were so great to work with - my most communicative vendor by far. I had a bunch of random questions throughout the process (as most DIY brides do - haha), and they always got back to me sooo quickly. The hall is a great blank canvas - white walls, neutral colored floor, etc. We are modern-minimalist in style, so we removed the curtains and hung our own. We also took out the stage to create more room. We fit 110 people in there EASILY, we definitely could've fit more. We hung up lights outside in the front and back, and set up lawn games outside. The covered deck is really large, too. The greenery is gorgeous, and there wasn't any road noise whatsoever. The kitchen is a great size too - we stored my wedding cake there overnight and assembled it in the morning. My wedding was beautiful, and Rescue Community Center allowed me to have afford other luxuries. My loved ones were STUNNED to find out how inexpensive the community center was to rent - you can easily make it look like a thousand bucks in there. I loved working with them, and recommend them to anyone looking for a venue.

The space is open, clean, and inviting, with plenty of room for guests to mingle without feeling crowded. The layout works really well for events -- there's a large main area that can accommodate bigger groups and still feels comfortable. The menu had great options, and we enjoyed everything we tried. The bar is large and well-stocked, which made it easy for everyone to grab drinks without long waits. There's a relaxed (and class), welcoming vibe overall, which really added to the experience. As mentioned I was not the host of the event but, after attending this event, I'd definitely consider hosting something here myself.
