The ceremony site is simply gorgeous with its canopy of walnut trees and ivy covered arch; we only added a bit of decor to the start of the aisle as it was perfect as is. Booking a year in advance, didn't think we would have weather issues in late May but we ended up having to deal with a rainstorm. Kurt and Nina were awesome and let us set up tents last minute the Friday before so that they were ready to go on the big day. They even provided a pop-up tent of their own to cover our DJ. Even though we had to limit our decor to the minimal covered areas, our wedding was still the perfect day we had always dreamed of. Brookshire was reasonably priced (especially as it comes with all tables and chairs), spacious with a great layout that easily flows from ceremony to reception, naturally gorgeous (i.e. minimal decor needed and numerous photo ops), and close to town to avoid travel fees, yet still feels private and remote. Kurt and Nina were so sweet and easy to work with, you could tell by their enthusiasm that day that they truly love what they do. They were so helpful and also very prompt in returning our security deposit. Thank you for being a part of our forever!

Definitely had a bit of a kick to it, the risotto was done well. My pet peeve is mushy risotto, it needs to have a slight bite to it which this one had thankfully. Love the fact that this place serves up local wines -- I couldn't recall the wine I had and they do not have their wine menu on their website. If you have the opportunity to visit, I'd recommend a glass of red from Starfield (winery up the road).

I do not think you are going to find a better spot for a country wedding in NorCal. We got married in October and it was perfect. There is a spot to get dressed if you need but there are also hotels close and you can take a limo to the venue. I do not want to spoil the place from pictures so I added just a few. We checked in after 6pm, so check in instructions were texted to us. Easy to follow. Was easy to find. We stopped at Wally's Pizza for dinner in Cameron Park based off their restaurant suggestions on their website and sent via text check in instructions. Great suggestion! The next mornings breakfast is texted the night before, offering some options like juice preference. And it's delivered around 9am the next morning. Since we had to be at rafting at 9 our first morning at the Inn, they delivered us fruit, scones, and juice early at 8:15am which was really nice. Breakfast was delicious, both mornings. And super fresh. We stayed in the Cypress room. Was as pictured online. Room was clean. The patio area is nice. We explored the grounds a bit our last morning and saw many places to sit around. We enjoyed some time up at the pond in the morning. The staff - I assume owners - were very friendly. We were very happy with our stay here and would return!

I wanted this package so I wouldn't have to worry about paying for every single thing separately. Gwen assured me when we paid that I would get everything that they have to offer at the ranch. The inclusive package did not include any alcohol, the photographer or the farmhouse tables, and the package at the time only included 80 guests. So it was about $5,000 more that we had to pay for those things not include. Several things started going wrong after we signed the contract. It started slowing, then it all piled up at the end. From when we paid until our wedding date, there was only 4 months to plan my wedding. Gwen did not want to go over actual details of my wedding until 1 month before it. That had me extremely stressed out. Then we met with her and went over details, I was telling her exactly what I wanted, she made no notes as she sat there, but agreed to everything I told her. The week before my wedding she told me the flowers I wanted were too expensive and she couldn't do what I wanted. I told her she agreed to it and had to. Then the day before my wedding she told me that our wedding planner that I had never met would not be able to make it the day of my wedding. This was included in my package. In no way did she reimburse me for this. The day of my wedding nothing was organized. My welcome table was not set up, she had not purchased the sparklers that she was supposed to buy for our exit, so we didn't get to do that, her son was supposed to work the photo booth and book, that was a mess at the end of the night. My wedding did turn out absolutely beautiful BUT the stress and struggle that I had to go through with Gwen was not worth it. I did not get to enjoy my wedding because I was so upset with Gwen. I think Gwen can be very nice when she chooses to do so and she can be a complete b**** when she chooses. The frustrating part is she doesn't care if you're happy on your wedding day, she just wants the money. It's sad this is how she is. I would not recommend getting married here unless you just want beautiful pictures.

We reserved the Rio Vista suite along with the attached beach bungalow so each had our own rooms downstairs. The back slider opened onto a sandy beach area with gorgeous views and a pool. We took day trips to Grass Valley and Placerville and had an amazing time. Spent the last half of our last day there sitting outside, looking at the views and enjoying the sunshine. The owners are amazing... They delivered breakfast to our doors each morning and boy were they delicious. I am definitely bringing my husband back so that he can enjoy this place and the surrounding areas as much as I did.

While it's a bit of a distance to the actual venue, it was well worth it for the quiet, calm and very relaxing environment. Beautiful property and I wish I had time to use the pool outside. We stayed in the Bella Vista honeymoon suite. I loved it. It allowed my husband and I to talk. There's a calming and clarifying vibe to the room and the place in general. Spacious, clean, and comfortable. I would stay here again if I was in the area 100%. I think about this place from time to time. I actually miss it!
