We used this venue for my daughter's wedding in October, and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The staff member in charge that night was not friendly from the beginning. Later in the evening, she told us that we had to clean the entire facility before midnight or we face $2,000.00 penalty. My husband and I started cleaning at about 9 PM, which meant we never got to enjoy the celebration at all. She also insisted that we had to do a walkthrough with her before leaving, which felt very unprofessional. We chose not to tell our daughter that night because we didn't want to ruin her special day. The next morning, we learned that we actually had until 10 AM the following day to clean up--something the staff member never mentioned. This caused unnecessary stress and completely changed the experience for us. The venue offered us $500 for the trouble and an additional $500 credit for a future booking, but we will never use this place again. A wedding should be a joyful experience, not one overshadowed by miscommunication and unprofessional behavior. Sadly, this venue turned what should have been a beautiful night into a stressful one. I've had the pleasure of being both a guest and a vendor at The BLOC, and every experience has been great. The staff are extremely helpful and easy to work with, which always makes a big difference on event day. The venue itself is beautiful and serves as a blank canvas that allows you to decorate and design it however you'd like. I really love the modern aesthetic. From the outside, you'd never guess how stunning it is inside. It looks more like an office parking area at first glance, but there's plenty of parking, which is always a plus, and the location right off the freeway is super convenient. Once you're inside, it's absolutely gorgeous. There's even a separate cocktail hour room, which is such a cool feature. It can get a little warm at times, but the design more than makes up for it. There are leather chairs, black and brick backdrops, and beautiful garage-style doors that add a lot of character. The exposed brick walls give it that warm, modern industrial vibe that looks great in photos. The bathrooms are also very clean, which is something guests and vendors both appreciate. Overall, The BLOC is a hidden gem of a venue. I'd be excited to attend another event there as a guest or work one again as a vendor. read more

So, I would honestly give them a 5 except one thing. They asked for proof of insurance from every individual vendor and performer. It was a scramble. Other than that, the venue itself fit the theme of my event very well. I did a Dia De Los Muertos event and after the decorations went up the whole place felt like Mexico. I guess it's the mix of the wood and outdoor vibe in the back bar area. I will also though that they didn't have air conditioning in the back space where the bar was and that is also where I had VIP. So, my dancers were HOT literally and figuratively. But it looked great. I hope they get the a/c back there before next summer. I will probably use them again for something or other. The restrooms were clean. The lighting was perfect for us. They had a girl there all night if we needed anything and she very quiet and very sweet. I didn't actually have any problems at that venue. So, I was happy. Another thing I will say is that they should probably get lighting for the sign "BLOC" because a lot of people said it was hard to find. We got married at Bloc this past September! We fell in love with the venue as soon as we saw it! While the venue it's self is BEAUTIFUL, there are some holes in the running of venue. Some one the holes we experienced are: We were not made aware of the security deposit and vendor insurance until 1 week before the wedding. We were never given access to the seating software they use. Thank god our planners had previously done a wedding here before and let us know. On the day of our rehearsal (the night before our wedding), we scheduled a rehearsal weeks in advance. When we showed up, another party was rehearsing and they told us that they didn't have us on the schedule. Thankfully my planner had the confrontation email! The tables were already set when we got to the venue to rehearse. The napkin color was wrong and when our planner told the lady setting them up, she was rude about it. Not to mention we had to ask them to wash some of our plates because they were dirty. This venue allows you to bring in your own vendors which is great! Part of the contract is that your vendors have to clean up after themselves (which was also fine). BUT where it went sideways was this.. we rented all of the plates from BLOC, making them our vendor. When it came time to clean up, they told us that they were going to charge us 200 for a cleaning fee because our catering used the plates, they are now the vendors which made them responsible for cleaning the plates. So people from our wedding stayed to help clean plates. We rented all table wear from BLOC, so it didn't really make a lot of sense. Had we known we would have asked our caterer to stay and clean plates to save ourselves money and our guests time. They also gave us the wrong arch for our ceremony, we paid for the empty black window frames but got the circular arch. Overall this place is a gem but there is definitely some lack of accountability and communication. Great concept, poor customer care. read more

Cute venue but it is small. Don't recommend using for ceremony and reception. Just attended a wedding and the promised turnover from ceremony site to dinner reception was a nightmare and took much longer than the 1 hour estimate. Not sure how the facilities staff can keep guests outside and in the bar area when the restrooms are in the main room. Also not sure how 2 ppl can be expected to turnover all those tables in 60 minutes. The facilities 1 staff member was pleasant in the beginning but turned salty pretty fast. Not sure what happened to the customer service attitude. Bathrooms were a total mess, paper towels and toilet paper everywhere. I remember seeing about three garbage cans for 200 ppl???? Oh and they dont provide garbage bags. read more

About time to leave a review for this place. BLOC Venue is amazing! I've held a Thanksgiving Party and three other birthday parties and every time the owner Lilly went above and beyond to make us happy! BLOC is conveniently located in Roseville about two blocks from Cirby Way & Riverside Ave. The venue is very beautiful and nicely decorated with lighting throughout. They have two separate lounges one in the front for families, moms or brides and one in the back for hanging out. The back lounge with the huge Glass Garage Doors is my favorite. It has couches and just nicely decorated with small tables and a few chairs. I also have to mention that their parking lot is huge and very easily to get in and out. This venue was STUNNING. I still cant believe my husband and I got married here! Every part of the space was gorgeous. From the bricks & beams, to the beautiful lounge area, the bridal suite, everything was flawless! You could photograph anywhere and it would be aesthetically pleasing. We honestly couldn't have picked a better venue. What we loved most was the open vendor policy. It allowed my husband and I to establish a perfect list of vendors who understood our vision. The vendors were able to make our dream wedding into reality at the perfect venue. Leela and her team were so sweet and kind to work with as well. Planning a wedding amidst a pandemic was not easy, however working with her and her team was easy! We are so thankful for everything Leela and her team have done for us. They assisted with the ceremony to reception room flip which turned out AMAZING. We also rented all our items from the Bloc and the end result was sooooo dreamy! We had our wedding here in June of 2021 and it was amazing! We were a COVID couple that was supposed to get married in June 2020 and that obviously did not happen...after we decided to push it back a year, we wanted to go with a venue that we really wanted and we chose BLOC. From the get go, the communication that I had with Leela was quick to respond and answer my 103940 questions, which was very much appreciated. I appreciate the design days that they hold so you can do your walk through and see how things will look. The day of came and although we ran into some bumps (not the BLOC's fault), the staff at the BLOC were happy to help and stepped in with no questions asked. It's hard to pick a place to start for this review because the experience we had with Leela and her team was so incredible. Planning a wedding during a pandemic was crazy, but throughout the entire process, Leela was there planning, creating backup plans, and making us feel so at peace. She fought for us and our wedding, and that's something that is so priceless and meaningful. The Bloc team created a whole intimate wedding package and it truly blew me and my now husband away! They truly got THE VERY BEST vendors, coordinated it all, thought of every single detail, took in all our thoughts and desires, made our dreams come true AND THEN took it up 5000 notches. I know they worked so hard to make our wedding happen. The day was so perfect and seriously better than we could have ever dreamed. I really appreciated how Leela dealt with vendors and planned. She fought for fairness and was honest and clear with pricing and helped us determine what was a good choice! Their communication was amazing. They were so reachable for questions, Leela got excited with things with us which made the whole process so fun. Chantal did a brilliant job with the detailed timeline, really making us feel at ease and ready for our special day. The venue itself is so beautiful. Every room is designed so well, perfect places for photos. We were so proud to get married here and can't wait to see the photos!! And the way they decorated just elevated the whole space and I was so in love! We really felt like Leela listened to all of our decor dreams and brought them to life. What a year 2020 was! Bloc Venue was one of our first choices for a wedding venue when we got engaged in 2019 and they were with us EVERY STEP OF THE WAY during the pandemic. I loved how much creative freedom we had with this venue, which is why we chose Bloc Venue. Not to mention, Leela and Albina were so wonderful and accommodating throughout all of the changes. I can't thank them enough. They even brought a care package to my home when we had to postpone our original wedding date. We were supposed to get married in June 2020 and had to postpone to October 2020. BLOC Venue is the place to have your wedding in the greater Sacramento area. My husband and I recently got married there and the space and the people were great. We chose BLOC because of the cool aesthetics of the venue and the open vendor policy. We planned the wedding ourselves and BLOC helped with coordinating our vendors in the weeks and days leading up to the wedding and they also coordinated everyone on the day of our wedding. Chantal, Leela, and Evelina were great throughout the process. They were very helpful with making sure the layout and setup was just as we wanted. We liked that they were very open and flexible with our interests and they allowed our pup at our wedding. The space itself is amazing. It is a little under whelming when you first drive up and see that it is in an industrial shopping center. Once you get inside, everything makes sense. The variety of textured brick walls, concrete floors, exposed ceiling beams, cool metal chandeliers and support beams, and amazing rental furniture from tables and chairs as well as available lounge furniture. If there were any downsides it would be the following: First, because they are open vendors, it requires more steps and hoops for your vendors to jump through. For example, our bartenders had to have a higher level of certifications than most bartenders have in order to serve at BLOC and we had to get our own venue insurance. This isn't a downside, just something you need to know before choosing this place. Second, cleanup is not included and we were a bit frustrated that even though we hired a cleanup crew through the venue, this was not communicated to our day of coordinator and we were told we needed to empty the garbage and clear all the tables ourselves (husband and I while we were still in our tux and gown). The mistake was realized about 10 minutes later, and we were offered a partial refund and apology. This remedied the issue, just be on top of what you do and don't have to do under the contract. Overall the beauty of the venue and the ability to plan a wedding that was 100% our style with no restrictions makes this venue a must use. read more

We booked BLOC venue 5 days before our wedding after inclement weather forecasts made us unsure of our previous outdoor reception plans. Thank God we had BLOC and Leela Rea to step in and save the day. If I could give this venue 0 stars I would. Bloc Venue is a beautiful venue, BUT let me tell you if you book with them you will have the most stressful experience, and that is the last thing you want as a bride! First off if they tell you anything during the tour I HIGHLY recommend you write everything they promise down on paper and have them sign it as well. The first time I came in I got told by one lady the napkins to rent are $2.00, and when I was reviewing the contract emailing with the owner she said the napkins are $2.50.The workers are never on the same page about anything so that is why you MUST write everything down! Another thing is they offered me a discount, and I was told by the owner If I wanted to rent plates from them, and napkins I would have to hand-wash every cup, and plate, and move the tables and chairs to the back of the wall. I went to one of their vendor events, and asked the worker who gave me a tour about hand washing, and moving chairs, and tables to the end of the wall, and she said she has never heard of that, and I must have read the email wrong, and was surprised when I showed her that the email said that. The staff and owner are very rude and unprofessional just look at all the google reviews, and how the owner replies back to everything it is always the customers fault, and a want for an argument! extremely unprofessional. I personally had to take Bloc Venue to small claims court, and I won the case and she still will not pay me my money. As beautiful as the venue I will say it AGAIN it is not worth the stress, and hassle as a bride we have enough stress as it is, and let me tell you booking through them gave me so many sleepless nights, headaches, tears and unnecessary drama I need not need as a bride. read more

I was so worried I wouldn't find a venue that could fulfill my wedding vision and when I randomly found the BLOC on a Reddit thread, I was so excited! We only had 4 months to plan our wedding, and with Leela and the rest of the crew supporting us and guiding us, everything worked out perfectly! I love the idea of choosing my own vendors and having the freedom to be creative. Communication was flawless. The place is gorgeous! Every. Single. Guest. Could not stop talking about how it was one of the best weddings they've ever been too! I'm not sure why some brides decided to give very negative reviews, as my experience with the team and the venue was amazing! The level of dreamy is at upmost high at the BLOC venue. I have to say that this venue surpassed any expectations I had with wanting a trendy location to host my baby shower. With all the social media hype that Pinterest and Instagram gives us with events in this day and age; this location checked all the boxes for me. I had 60 people at my shower, and it was still cozy and beautiful (I know it can fit up to 250 ppl I believe). Some of my favorite things about the place is their high-end RH lighting (You don't need much fancy on the tables when you have fancy all around you), the 'dress up' room was such a nice touch with a comfy couch that allowed some moms privacy to breastfeed and take a breather, later my boys enjoyed it to relax when they weren't helping me open presents. The coordinators, Tanya and Albina eased any concerns or questions I had, and treated me like family. I also appreciated the large, updated bathrooms that were very roomy! I'll forever look back, reminisce and just wish I took a gazillion more pictures to soak up the moments I had in this beautiful location. Thank you BLOC! read more
