Shoutout to Folsom, CA. Still diggin the Shake Shack in Folsom. Their fresh hand formed smashed burgers are darn delicious. Those simple crinkle cut fries are classic, nicely fried with a crisp r terror and fluffy inside. When I eat 'em fresh made right on the spot... the world just becomes calmer. It's that good. The hot dogs are pretty darn good as well. They grill those. But I sure wish that this Shake Shack would put dairy free milkshakes on the menu. A number of locations in the Bay Area, offer dairy free. This location doesn't. Aw shucks. The prices are fast food comparable. But quality s better. The staff has always been great. They have ordering kiosks, but I like to order at the counter with a human. The dining room is kept clean. But the parking isn't the greatest. The small parking lot right in front of the building gets crowded especially when Noah's Bagels (their next door neighbor) is open. The parking lot spaces are limited in quantity and the distance between the aisles are narrow. Oh Shake Shake!! The place that has my heart!!! I couldn't ask for a better birthday dinner after walking around all day is SO nicely air with the conditioned absolutely everything is modern decor and clean seating I knew I was in the right spot! Even though you usually order in the machine, the utensil or well help you if needed! I think they are always very nice! The FOOD I got the double cheeseburger just mouth watering it's almost like a smash burger so good. Cheese fries ! I just tried Shake Shack for the first time. I've been wanting to try one of these for a while now, but they don't have one where I live. But my daughter had a state cross-country race in Fresno and on my way back home to Redding, I realized that there were two on the way, one in Sacramento, and one in Folsom. Suddenly, I knew what I was having for dinner. I ordered the Big Shack, which is clearly their answer to the Big Mac--except it blows McDonald's out of the water. The two beef patties were noticeably larger, incredibly juicy, and packed with real flavor. Everything else tasted fresher too: the bun, the toppings, even the sauce. It's basically what the Big Mac wishes it could be. I also took a chance on something new--the French Onion Soup Burger--and it did not disappoint. The combination of Gruyère cheese, caramelized onions, and crispy onions made every bite rich, savory, and ridiculously satisfying. It's one of the more unique burger flavor profiles I've tried, and Shake Shack nailed it. Although if I had to choose between the two, the Big Shack would win for me. Overall, this visit was a 10/10. Came to try the new Dubai milkshake. It was very tasty. Loved the texture and balance of sweet and crunchy taste/texture. It was cool to crack the sides of chocolate into the milkshake. I honestly expected it to have some chocolate flavor but it really doesn't. That being said, and being the chocolate lover that I am, I don't regret trying it but I would pick something different. There also seemed to be a discrepancy in the price, it stayed the limited time shakes were 6.99, but the Dubai one was not one listed, however, there was no other prices for it on the menu. So o thought that the price was steep for a milkshake. So this was a one time experience for us. It was over $23 after leaving a $2 tip for 2 Dubai milkshakes. 3 stars for the value. I went to Shake Shack solely to try their Dubai milkshake--and it did not disappoint! It was solid. The presentation was beautiful with a chocolate shell around the cup, a creamy pistachio milkshake, and kataifi on top for that extra texture. It was amazing and totally worth the visit. We both ordered the ShackBurger (single, $7.99, 500 calories) quarter pound patty of 100% Angus beef with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun. It was the perfect size for me, and was cooked perfectly, char-grilled, just the way I like it. We split the fries, which were also delicious. Crispy on the outside, tender inside with just the right amount of salt. We sat inside. It was a little loud, but the tables were well spaced, so you weren't seated super close to other diners. Craving a burger and was going to stop at our regular spot but wanted to give this location a try. The burgers average about $12-$15 each. We ordered our burgers with bacon and when we got them there was no bacon inside , also after we gave it back to re-do they brought it back out but there were no sauce inside the burgers which made it extremely dry and hard to eat. At this point we just ate our burgers with ketchup as it was getting cold. The Pattie's were cooked well but definitely wishing the whole burger tasted more full filling with all the correct condiments inside. Onion rings were good but very small portion and not enough for sharing. The lemonades were watered down. Bravo! Less than a week open and it seems this location is running like a well oiled ship. We arrived on a Wednesday: kiosks all working, employees friendly and knowledgeable. We got the limited edition black truffle fries, black truffle burger and my favorite: the shack stack. All came out fresh and delicious! I ordered online and only realized when I got home that my order was completely wrong. I immediately called the restaurant to let them know and asked if there could be any compensation for the time, effort, and gas it would take to return for a remake. The manager, Wayne, told me I could either have the order remade or get a voucher and said that a remake IS my "compensation" for the inconvenience. This completely ignores the real issue. A remake does not make up for the time and effort it would take for me to go back, and a voucher doesn't help if I already need dinner tonight. I had already spent time, energy, and money traveling for this order, and being told that a remake is "enough" is frustrating and unfair. Mistakes happen, but customer service should acknowledge the actual inconvenience caused. Shake Shack should consider a fairer approach for customers who are inconvenienced by errors, rather than offering a solution that ignores the real cost to the customer. read more

The hubster and I returned tonight for an early dinner. Inside you have the option to order at a kiosk or at the counter. We have now done both and they are equally effective. If you want friendly and human interaction wait for counter ordering. The interior is kept very clean. There are options to sit at tables or booths inside or tables outside. Both visits we sat inside and did not have an issue finding a place to sit. Staff is VERY friendly and courteous. Something in short supply these days. So I appreciate finding this and let them know. On to the food... these are NOT your ordinary, run-of-the-mill fast food burgers. I would rank Shake Shack Burgers above In and Out and perhaps even slightly edging out Five Guys for flavor and freshness. Their fries are crinkle cut...not my favorite, but mighty tasty. We also shared a soda and have yet to try one of their shakes. Had their special truffle burger. Fries and the pomegranate drink. Burger was delicious. The bun was really good. The drink was great. That great balance of sweet and tart. Fries were bland. The biggest issue is with ordering. You walk in through the door. There 2 kiosks to the left. 2 cash register in front. There is no directed lines. This was my first visit to Shake Shack. It's located at the Palladio in Folsom. I went on a Friday around 1130am, so parking was plentiful. I was greeted by a staff person as soon as I entered. The menu and order/pick up counter are right at the entrance. In addition to a variety of burgers there are vegan options, chicken sandwhiches, hot dogs, soft drinks, milkshakes and even a selection of beer and wines! The entrance is full of light and very welcoming. There are several seating areas inside and out. I ordered a single burger with no cheese and fries. I sat near the entrance and observed a steady flow of customers ordering to eat in as well as those ordering to go or delivery service pick ups. My order arrived in about 5 minutes (they bring it to your table). My burger was a delicious smashed burger and the crinkle cut fries were fresh and hot. As a staff person was delivering an order to another table, he stopped to ask me if my order was ok. I was pleasantly surprised by that because most fast food places do not check on you after you receive your order. 5 stars for the excellent customer service! I've only ever been to the Shake Shack in the Ice Blocks of midtown, which can get pretty busy. This one is located right next to Whole Foods in the Palladio Plaza. My first time here at 8pm for a late dinner on a Tuesday and the restaurant was still half filled. There are self order kiosks and 2 cashiers. We opted to do the self order kiosk. 2 double cheese burgers. I usually eat my double double burgers with pickles and mustard only- they didn't have mustard as an option, only the shake shack sauce. I ordered a side just in case I would not like it- it was free with a burger purchase. The burger is just meat cheese and buns, you have to choose all your additional add ons by choice. They had crispy onions for an additional $1.25. Sounded enticing but didn't want to be disappointed. Onions, lettuce tomatoes and what not are without charge. Burgers came out piping hot! Just how I like it! Cheese was melty and patty was juicy. I think that the patty lacked salt, but maybe because I didn't have my mustard. I surprisingly did not care for the bun. You can taste that the meat and cheese was of good quality. Patty wasn't too thin. I would say that one patty was the size of two In n Out patties thickness. French fries- they only have the regular zig bag cut French fries that can be plain, garlic Parmesan or the truffled style. They taste better than they look! They were not soggy and were crispy. Typical fast-casual place that is visibly clean and spacious. The staff members are pleasant and on top of keeping the lobby bussed. This was my first ever experience with Shake Shack and it just left me disappointed. Burgers are definitely more greasy than I prefer, and hubs and I both agree this is not somewhere we will be visiting often. My single patty burger made me feel groggy after eating. The price point is not far off from other burger spots, but Shake Shack's prices are just not justified for me. The burgers are on the smaller side and have thinly smashed patties. The food here is really good. The menu does not get too broad with a lot of selections on the but that is a positive not a negative. They focus on simply making great burgers. There are a few different versions of the burger and some vegetarian options but mostly it is burgers, fries, and some chicken options. Everything seems to be pretty fresh and cooked to order (although that is based on taste and appearance, I do not know if they actually do that). I have not had a bad hamburger at this place, neither in store or to go. The area where there are a lot of options is the shakes. While they do have the classic strawberry / chocolate / vanilla options they do have a few more exotic ones. They always seem to have one that is "for a limited time" and it is typically something you probably haven't tried before. As for service, it is one of those situations where I don't have a lot to say about it which means they are getting the job done efficiently and without issue. I have only dined in one time but the restaurant is clean, well lighted and comfortable. Good location, easy parking and a nice place to stop when shopping and the nearby stores. read more

My order came quickly. Of course, I forgot to get a picture of the food. The burger was good. The bun was a bit soft, so it didn't hold up to the burger very well. But, you could tell it was a good quality meat, and it was char-grilled to perfection. All of the veggies that came with the burger were crisp and fresh. The one thing I didn't care for was the cheese. For such a high-quality burger, I thought that using American cheese, was a bit of a letdown. The next time I would just order it without the cheese. The Parmesan truffle fries were not just a home run, they were a grand slam! The crinkle cut fries were the perfect temperature and texture, they were very generous with the Parmesan on the fries, and that truffle mayo, dipping sauce? Oh my God... it's made with mayonnaise, and black truffle oil. A very high-quality oil too. It was so amazingly rich! I would gladly order that on one of my burgers. There is something about the burger that tastes like an old fashioned burger joint! And the milkshake were also amazing! Finally tried the new Folsom location after it's opening here a couple months back. The restaurant is clean, modern, sleek with cool background music playing. Self-ordering was easy. There weren't too many customers at noon on a Thursday, so the food came out really quick. Everything was prepared to perfection. I loved my cheese fries that tasted great from beginning to end (unlike In and Out which turn into cardboard). My single cheeseburger was heavenly. However when they opened one in Sac I was so excited but I never went to it except once. But I was openly going out of my way to find Shake Shacks when out of town. What I will say is that they're going to have a problem with their ordering system because the three computers are literally right next to the door - so if more than two people are in line, you have to basically stand outside. Otherwise you'll be in front of the door blocking anyone else from coming in. They should really change the set up and I bet that the flow would go a lot better.
