This Chipotle location is beyond disgusting. The level of cleanliness and food handling is extremely concerning. There were employees with full beards preparing food without any facial hair coverings, which immediately raised red flags for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The entire restaurant looked unclean and unsanitary.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Food was everywhere behind the counter, the tables were sticky and smeared with who knows what, and the floors were covered in trash.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came here during my lunch break and tried to give them the benefit of the doubt -- maybe they were understaffed -- but there were about four employees in the back and only one person actually making bowls. Unfortunately, it only got worse. While eating my bowl, I found a dead fly in my food. On top of that, there were weird black bark-like pieces in the bowl that looked like burnt leftovers from the grill. The onions were also cut terribly -- just thick, uneven chunks. At that point, I had no choice but to throw the entire bowl away. I couldn't even finish my lunch. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing and frankly unsanitary. I normally love this chipotle but there's a an employee here that really skimps on the serving sizes. I think he's new. I thought he was joking when he scooped up the corn and put it on my bowl. This is by far the worst chipotle I have ever been to. First off the staff was rude and unwelcoming. Second I bit into my first taco and it was ice cold. I felt the steak and fajitas veggies and they felt like they were straight from the refrigerator. I ended up taking them to go so I could go home and heat them up. My go-to, the carnitas were the best I've ever had in my entire life, meaty, flavorful, toppings fresh, perfectly portioned and to mention aesthetically pleasing! Hubby ordered a Burrito Bowl with Carnitas and All Toppings, Except Guacamole and said the carnitas we're juicy and tender, best he's had in his entire life and all the toppings were fresh! We also ordered some Chips & Guacamole, they are absolutely incredible and don't even get me started on their famous addicting guac! My jaw was dropped. I had to keep asking him to put more. And then he charged me for DOUBLE protein for an amount of protein that should be SINGLE. We both got carnitas burrito bowls, one with everything but lettuce and other with everything but guacamole. I also got chips and guacamole to complete our order. We decided to eat inside since we were famished and it was great. The carnitas were tender and juicy and everything was fresh. What a disappointment! They've got new employees here that have made this place hit rock bottom. Terrible customer service. No greeting when it's your next in line. Just a blank stare from them, waiting for you to tell them what you want. Even though almost everyone knows the routine, usually the worker will go down the line saying "What type of meat", "White or brown rice". These guys don't say a single word. Might as well have robots take over their jobs next! PORTIONS. . . Over the past 6 months, this location was doing alright with portions. Over the past month of coming here, they barely put anything in! I watched this guy scraping the scraps of black beans from the container for 4-5 people instead of just switching it out with the new one behind him. And no one said anything!! They were apparently all fine getting about 25% of the full amount they should be getting. I asked for the new batch as he was trying to scrape the edges of the pan into my burrito. The guy behind me even laughed at what was happening. They continued to only place a small sliver of protein in. Usually you could ask for more without paying for double but now they say it'll cost you. So I have to pay extra just to receive the correct amount?? At least they were generous with the lettuce! 50% of the burrito was lettuce. Great... The person at the register was also unfriendly. Didn't hear a "hello" or "have a good day". I'm not reaching for attention here but I've been to so many great Chipotles outside of Sacramento where this is just sad. You'd think you would filter these people out in the interview process... The store on Iron Point Road in Folsom seems to give the best service, but last night one of their team went 'over and above' in giving great service. His name is Matteo. I walked in and ordered my usual "two salads to go". Matteo asked "one with only Romaine Lettuce, right?" I asked how he knew that and he told me he remembered me from a recent visit. I had stopped in about 5 days earlier. Then he added 'small amount of rice, small black beans and chicken, correct?' This young man pays attention and takes pride in his job. So I've been going to this location for years on almost a weekly basis and quality has plummeted. Today was the final straw I got home and my guacamole had clearly sat out all day and was dark green. Luckily I get it on the side, but it had to be tossed. Flavor just isn't what it used to be either. I will definitely be trying a new location as this one has gone to helll.
